Meritage Homes hired them for free drinking water install so I thought why not. $1500 for a filter and $5,500 for both a filter and softener. The filter alone was insufficient as I was still breaking out in hives. I asked to speak with someone to work something out since $5,500 is an arm and a leg and I haven't heard from anyone though I've been reaching out since November 29th. Someone by the name of Ev said he was trying to call me back last night but it wasn't going through. I called back last night and today 5 times and my call is being "forwarded" to voicemail. I need help from the Yelp community on how I can get this filter uninstalled so that I can work with a different company. I don't want to have to take Zyrtec in order to avoid hives after taking a shower. It's been a true nightmare working with Dupure. We got a quote also to see how much it would cost to move it inside the garage. Luckily, they gave us a very good price on a brand new unit inside my garage with PEX plumbing. So this past winter I wasn't worried about my water softener freezing because it was inside my garage protected from the elements. While they were working on that I asked them about a reverse osmosis water filtration system. They were able to replace my existing set up and I asked them to hook it up to my refrigerator as well. So I do not have to replace the refrigerator filter and I get reverse osmosis water chilled and ice! They call once a year to replace the filters and with labor it's just a little more than Amazon.
