So, if there were a 4.5 stars I would use it. NOBODY's perfect. I have a small apartment complex with a small pool and Aqua Shine was the service when I took over. I kept them on and I'm not sorry. I did a little pricing and they were the most reasonable. So, as far as cost goes, they were reasonable, last time I checked. Getting repair work done has been pretty reasonable and timely. I don't know if I overpaid for repairs and extra maintenance, but the pricing was reasonable - especially when convenience and timeliness are factored in. From time to time I have challenged the work done or service provided. I typically receive a phone call within 24 hours and we come to an amicable solution to the problem. They have never tried to talk their way out of responsibility and are always willing to work with me. Sometimes, I'm in the wrong because of a misunderstanding of the services agreed to. Even then, they've given me some sort of consideration for the inconvenience. Other times when I've asked about an equipment change they have looked and told me that it was unnecessary to make a change . . . saves me $$. Given the use of he pool (like non-existent) I sometime question the practicality of having a pool. But, it's there and it's a nice visual feature and Aqua Shine keeps it looking good. read more

I checked my phone records and his number was on the call list at the appointment time. However, he did not leave a message. I did not recognize the number, so did not answer. Technology. Aqua Shine has been our pool company for almost 3 years. I just spoke at length with Edward, our weekly guy, and he was very helpful. As a first time pool owner, it's been tricky to navigate the ins and outs on a regular basis and all of the maintenance guys we have had over the years have offered outstanding customer service in addition to being timely and consistent. Our pool and components are older so we probably have more troubles than someone with a newer pool. We have been using AquaShine for the last year and a half. It's been hit or miss with their customer service and pool services. We've twice had our pool go green or create mold spores. The first time the technician didn't take the pool off service mode (pumps off) so it didn't circulate for almost a week before we noticed. They still had the thought to charge us for the follow up service and chemicals. Fine, I can deal with that but time around, our pool has created vast mold accumulation. It's been 6 days since our last service. Upon inspection of the equipment our salt cell was unplugged and our equipment left looking disheveled. I understand the pool technicians are under a time crunch and generally spend less than :10 on each property, but if you can't even leave the pool equipment running properly when you leave it's a moot point. When I've called to speak with the front office to notify them of either a green pool or mold, it's handled with zero urgency and met with, "we will get to it when we can. I'll create a service order." It is never met with empathy, urgency or care. They talk over you while trying to explain parts of the equipment were left unplugged. It is incredibly frustrating because we pay upwards of $150 a month for this kind of service. The pool technicians reference that things changed when the original business was sold and given to current management. I am beyond frustrated and feel like just another number. read more

I can't stand this company.. I rent a home from First Key who employs Aqua Shine for their pools and the techs are horrible. First of all, "techs", it's so not necessary for 2 techs but if there are 2 techs, I can't imagine us having any problems, should be a breeze with two people.. but here's how our experience has been.. In the summer they turned out pool green, even though we told them ahead of time we were having guests (aka higher bather load), and side note, First Key wouldn't allow us to add any chems to the pool per our lease so we just had to let it sit... but back to Aqua Shine, they never brush our pool, the never add liquid chems, just throw in some chlorine tabs, and now that it's winter, they STILL don't do anything, they just empty the leaf bucket and when the leaf bucket broke they just tossed it to the side of our yard and didn't replace it or communicate anything to us about getting a new one. This ball fell in the pool literally 3wks ago and it's still there with all the dirt.. cool. You sure have pride in your company. Wishing I could go back to LovePoolCare or hell, even Poolman.. LovePoolCare truly loved caring for pools and at least Poolman acted like it lol read more

My current house came with a pool, so never having one before I had it checked out by the builder to make sure everything was okay then went to Angie's List to find a cleaner. Aqua Shine was running an annual deal and was rated highly, so I went with them. Service was great and they let me know my Salt System wasn't working, so they put in a chlorinating float. I bought a new salt cartridge and replaced it myself. For almost two years I asked them to turn on the Salt System as I wanted to try it, but my technician apparently didn't know how and never bothered to ask anyone, or didn't communicate my request to the office properly. I finally gave up and hired a new company - Rockman Pool - and the first time out they turned on the system. Look these guys are nice, do good work, and are reasonably priced so I'm not recommending you not use them. It's just that I got tired of asking for what was apparently a simple request and not getting it. read more

I orginially contacted Aqua Shine in March 2013 for quotes on a remodel project which would eventually involve our pool bond beam and patio decking. Aqua Shine no pressure, honest approach to my needs was well received. Knowing there portion of our home remodel project was towards the end of the entire project. They welcomed me to call them when I was ready no matter when it was to happen. Fast forward to Dec2014, there was no question whom we are going to hire. Aqua Shine was the company I called to complete our task. They responded immediately with a welcoming approach and we moved forward as if time had stood still. The work has completed in a professional manner, with minimum debris. Job Foreman, Rich advise us of the time frame and confirmed the task as quoted is what we desired and was willing to make adjustments to meet our expectations. Which he did just that and on time. With any contractor situation it is imperative to get everything in writing before you start and make certain the smallest details are not left open for interpretation. This is a wonderful company. They provide exceptional service and will promptly accommodate for all your needs, are respectful of your privacy, and are flexible when scheduling monthly service. They provide an electronic report following each service so you can see a record of the time and duration of services as well as the details of services provided. They are a fair company and will discuss all available options with you if you need additional maintenance or equipment. When our pool pump failed, they were available to install a new one immediately (we previously used chlorine, but requested salt water) and made this happen within days. Really excellent repair service! Brandon came out and started with the easiest solution to my issue first. When that didn't work he did not charge me for the labor or parts utilized to make the repair that did not end up fixing my problem. When he did end up fixing the issue a very ahort while later the price was very reasonable and he even vacuumed the pool when he was done. My grandmother has a pool that she struggles to maintain all on her own so I took it upon myself to find a reputable pool service company that I could trust to take care of her pool. I found Aqua Shine Pool Services through friends who ensured me that they were 100% trustworthy and very reasonably priced as well! Right off the bat I have nothing but good to say about them, they are always on time, very respectful of the fact that my grandmother lives alone, and send the same technician, rather than different people every time. The pool was in really bad shape when they began servicing it and in two weeks it was able to be swam in again. The have always maintained more than just the water condition too... If they notice leaks out of joints or caps on the pump they inspect it and either replace gaskets and o-rings or recommend service. I truly believe they know what they are doing and I have no doubts that they will continue to serve her honestly and thoroughly in the years to come! read more

Pool looks great, they are very responsive, and always inform you about any changes in schedule, etc. They have also been very considerate about running the pump at the "least expensive" electricity times. Poor service, they don't vacuum or even sweep most weeks and are charging $60 expedite fee to fix a valve that was approved 3 weeks ago, this will be our last month of service. I've been a customer of Aquashine Pools for many years (possibly 10?), but regrettably, I can no longer recommend this company - stay away! They have been trying to sell me a $500 "walk around" pool cleaner for months - even though my pool has an in-ground cleaning system. They tell me I need this because my system isn't working as efficiently as it should. I told them they just needed to service the pool as agreed, and vacuum it (it had not been vacuumed in 6 weeks-this was in November). Their response was to state that if I want it vacuumed every week, they would change me $20/mo more - AND, they upped my monthly fee besides. NO, I don't want it vacuumed every week, I just want them to honor the contract (vacuum once a month or as needed). The dirt isn't terrible - it just needs vacuuming - and it's been in roughly the same shape for weeks - how do they know it's not working efficiently in comparison, if they never vacuum it? Ever since, they have been going to great lengths to NOT vacuum the pool-it's been another 5 weeks since all of our conversations - so, at this point, they have not vacuumed my pool in 11 weeks (again, today - no vacuum during service) - just imagine what any pool would look like if not vacuumed for 3 months. It's bizarre, and does appear that they are intentionally not vacuuming. I'm the opposite of a "high-maintenance" customer, and find this whole thing absolutely perplexing. Going over all weekly service emails in 2018, this company vacuumed my pool 5 times in 12 months! What kind of customer service is that, especially considering I'm a ten year loyal customer? There are countless pool service companies in this town - I wholeheartedly suggest you do not choose Aquashine. read more

I've been with Aquashine for about three months now. When I transitioned from my previous provider, my pool had been green for weeks and they were able to get it back to crystal clear very quickly. They send me weekly reports of the pool analysis which are very helpful. I've had a couple problems with my filtration system and they were able to get someone out to fix it within a few days. While pool repairs can get pretty expensive, they've been very good at explaining what needs to be done without pressuring me and I've been able to balance getting some things done myself and using them for others. Our home has some very sophisticated (or complicated, depending on how you look at it) plumbing for the 15 yr. old pool, waterfall and hot tub. 1. The pool and/or hot tub can be heated. 2. 4' vertical drop waterfall can be set at 3 different flow volumes. 3. A fountain in the hot tub, for when it's not being heated 4. Variable speed motor 5. D.E. filter 6. Auto-fill valve 7. 400K BTU electronic ignition gas furnace, etc. It's quite the set-up. There's so many different valves, that only now, after 15 years of ownership, I'm finally starting to learn how the plumbing operates! We hired Aqua Shine to take over pool service a year ago because my husband can no longer physically do it himself. They've been totally dependable (shown up every week as scheduled for service) and their price is the most competitive we found. This past weekend, we had a horrific dust storm while I was away. It made the pool a mess. An Open House was scheduled for the next day PLUS a very likely buyer was already discussing an offer for the house. PANIC! My pool HAD to be sparkling clear. Within 12 hours of my call, Aqua Shine was here manually vacuuming the pool, adjusting the valves for rapid clean-up and adding chemicals. Yes, there was a service charge, but it was a fair price. When the first guests arrived, 5 hours later, the water was sparkling clear again. I can't say for sure, but I don't think other pool service companies would've rescued me like that... Also, we had an earlier problem with the pool plumbing leaking. Aqua Shine took complete ownership of the extensive problem, and we were really pleased with the final outcome. When I sell my house, the new owners will be getting the strongest recommendation possible to continue using Aqua Shine for pool service. They're just really, really good, and companies like this deserve to be rewarded with continued business. FULL DISCLOSURE: I had sent a very appreciative "Thank You" to the co. re: their recent service. In response, they acknowledged and offered a $25 credit to my account if I would write a Yelp review. We hired Aqua Shine to acid wash, clean and replace some pool tiles, replace a pool filter, repair spa heater. The job cost over $5,000 and drug out over 4 months and still wasn't right. Horrible follow up and we spent a lot of time waiting for workers who never showed up and never called to let you know they aren't able to make it. They didn't caulk the tiles correctly so and they are beginning to fall out, there is also a big ring (stain) at the deep end of the pool where they left water sitting after they acid washed and didn't fill it up promptly. Very disappointed. The worst part, I don't even want them to come back out to fix...too much hassle. read more

This service is for a rental home that I own so I need to have a responsive maintenance company.  Whenever I have called they have been professional and attentive to my questions.  We also receive emails every week with updates about the pool.  The level of cleaning/maintenance is better than my previous pool cleaners.  When the service first started, my tenants notified me that the pool was being cleaned very well and that they were happy we switched to aquashine.  They have been consistent and we no longer have any concerns over the pool. read more

I was referred to Aqua Shine by a co-worker. I had some major issues with my pool. So much so that my last pool company stopped coming and went dark when I tried to get them to help. That reminds me, I need to leave them a review too. It won't be positive. My experience with Aqua Shine is exactly what any customer would ever want to experience. I dealt with several people at different stages of the project and each one was fantastic. They were quick in getting back to me.
