We made an appointment on a Friday at 10:45 for my Mother to have a manicure. We arrived on time and were taken immediately. Mom uses a walker. Before we left the man who makes the appointments told me "Next time bring her on a weekday. Friday's are busy and she has to dry at the station ". I asked for a simple gel polish change and to keep the length and round. Instead, i got my hands abused every which way, got nail polish underneath my nails, and left with barely any nails because she needed to shrink them down to tiny squares RIGHT BEFORE VALENTINES DAY! I asked to speak to a higher up and address my concern and comment, yet the nail manicurist demanded I pay her and had to stand in my face as i tried addressing my concerns to the owner. Immediately, the manicurist shouted stating I was wrong and kept phoning a friend for backup who wasn't even there when I was having my manicure done. Then, she blames me and bad mouths me (which i knew because I'm multilingual). This manicurist makes this business look unprofessional and uncaring towards there customers. As a journalist who tries to find the positive outlook of all places I visit, AQ Nails will be the first place I review with ZERO positive comments! I can assure you that there are much nicer establishments near the area to get your nails done and not have to suffer an embarrassing temper tantrum from your manicurist. Here is some advise for the manicurist. 1. Treat your customers with respect. 2. Don't trash talk customers in another language and assume they don't understand what they are saying. 3. Don't throw tantrums in the establishment. 4. Hands are not rag dolls you can throw and bend everywhere. 5. Please don't ever treat any other customer the way you did to me. I'm giving a 3 because although I love how clean they are and that if you make an appointment you usually don't have to wait at all not all technicians are created equal. They are somewhat pricey but the regular pedi with hot stones is worth it to me! When I get a pedicure it's for the polish but also for a mini-massage. NOW back to the polish. The last few times I've come in and been unable to get the girl I like -- Ann I've had another tech and I usually don't notice until I go home how bad of a job was done. This time my gel manicure chipped the next day! Unfortunately I had to catch a flight in the am so I couldn't go back. Then I noticed that on my pedicure she didn't cover all of the polish with clear. Pedicures can usually last 2 weeks my toes are already chipping and it is day 4! The woman doing my pedicure was trying to help- put on the massager on my daughters chair - because she could tell the woman did not like my daughter. My daughter wasn't running around screaming- she sat, silently taking in the experience. Well..for starters this establishment is racist. My gf got her nails done and 4 days later the dip acrylic manicure started coming off. We called the place to fix the name and was told to come in for an appt on Saturday at 1230. She arrived and was treated unfairly. Two white women came in (1 with an appt and 1 without) they were both seated. My gf was ignored. After finding out what was going on, the manager accused her of removing the nails herself. In the end, we will not be coming here again. The treatment and the tone used when communicating was unprofessional. If she was white, I guarantee the treatment would have been better. I was a client of AQ nail for a long time, some of the employees do very good work, but there are others that better than don't touch your hands, since your nails break. I was there last Sunday, one day later the gel started peil, and my nail broke, because horrible polishing, 4 days later, I stopped there to explain but nobody knows anything or they don't work for you either, they just want you to pay, and from my broken nails blame me!!!!! Unprofessional and careless staff. The minute I sat down the lady that was doing my nails (Phuong) started to talk to her coworker in their native language, laughing and staring at my nails. I asked if my friend who was also booked for a mani could sit next to me and was told she could not. A minute later someone else walked in and was sat right next to me. My friend got to the salon a few minutes after me and was done before me. I was told that it was taking longer to do my nails because of the color I had chosen. The lady that did my nails coated them with layers and layers and layers of powder and polish. They are raised and hard as a rock. Also very tender. She used the dremel over and over agin. I am soooo disappointed with my nails. You be the judge, take a look at these photos. I won't be going back there ever and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I absolutely love this place. Whether I am a walk-in or make an appointment, I am always seen quickly by a technician. The staff is very friendly, and the environment is calm and relaxing. My gel manicures last nicely for about 3 weeks. They have a large color collection and are always getting new colors/collections in as well. The technicians will always let me try out a couple colors if I am unsure of​ which to pick. I recommend​ going for the spa pedicure if you are looking to relax. They give you a nice long leg massage with hot stones. The paint job always comes out very neat and clean. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. They are extremely unsanitary. As I was getting my toes done a lady next to me had open sores all over her body. I'm not sure what type of condition she had but in scary times like this I don't find it appropriate to be getting your toes done with what could potentially be monkey pox. I'm posting this not for sympathy, but to continue to make people aware that, YES, in 2019 there is still blatant racism happening --and in an industry that thrives on the consumers dollar. Today, I visited AQ nails in Dedham on Providence highway at 11:15 this morning (9/25) for a mani pedi. Now, I realize since I was walking in without an appointment, I may have to book for a later time slot. No problem! But instead, the gentleman that was taking the appointment suggested that I come back tomorrow. Really, tomorrow?!?!? I walked out feeling frustrated because I sensed that I wasn't offered an appointment today because of the color of my skin. To further confirm my suspicions, I went to my car and called AQ nails and was immediately offered an appointment. The video is me walking back into AQ nails for the Appt I was allowed to make over the phone without him knowing if I were black or not. Unbelievable - they surely won't ever get my business. I never leave reviews but this service was horrible I got charged $70 dollars for these after the website said $40 and when explained how AWFUL these are they wouldn't give me a refund. After 30 minutes of negotiating they offered to give me a refund if they took them off but I was already there for over an 1.5 hours and had to leave to go to work so they only refunded me half. read more

I used to love this place, except for the rude male who makes the appointments. My favorite nail tech left in the summer which is sad, because she was great! I like most of the older techs, but it is not always easy to get appointments with them. I was scheduled with a new one and she did a terrible job on my gel nails and toes. She cut my nails way too short, to the quick on two of them and they have now split. I had to file three nails on my hands and 5 on my toes because they had sharp edges. Also, the covid Karens in Dedham complained that they didn't feel "safe", so now you are forced to wear a face muzzle. Not because of a mandate, because of the owner not wanting to lose money. I have been coming here for a long time due to convenience and their cleanliness. This is a clean nail salon, where they do auto clave their equipment, or so it seems at least. But the quality of their work is terrible. It doesn't matter who I've seen, something always seems to be wrong. Some of the older techs are a little better, but most of them are pretty bad. My GEL manicures are always coming off within a week, the polish is never even and can see lighter areas on the nails, my cuticles are never properly cut with hang nails left. It's obnoxious. This last time was the final straw, I got a gel manicure for an event, within days my nails were chipping and I'll need a full new manicure within 7 days of my appointment. The techs seem over worked, they all work 6 days a week. No wonder they can't paint a nail correctly. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

Yesterday was my 2nd visit to AQ Nails since the grand opening. I have been a loyal customer to Lovely Nails up the street since their opening in 2012. Both locations are under the same management and you couldn't ask for better! My second visit is because my first visit was phenomenal. Kim is a friendly meticulous perfectionist. My first gel polish mani lasted 3 weeks! Never ever ever has that happened. I fell asleep in the pedi massage chair both times. The conditions are spa like, relaxing, therapeutic, quiet and beyond clean. I recommend the spa pedi and gel mani. FYI if you are loud or talking on your cell phone I will ask you to leave. I never write reviews but I am writing this review as I am sitting in the parking lot crying my eyes out because I just got my toes done and I asked the lady to put tips on them because I recently hurt my foot and my nail got cut really short. I am going on vacation in two days and really wanted my toes to look nice. The lady said no I didn't need them after I asked her several times to put it on. I wasn't able to see my toes since I got a gel pedicure and they were under the UV light. She told me to pay before my feet were even done and end up paying 50 bucks and then she finished my toes and left and they are so bad my toes are so short shorter than I came in with and now I'm crying in the parking lot. I made an appointment ut got stuck at work. I did call as soon as I could, being only minutes before appointment unfortunately. I did apologize walking in and they still were able to take me m, saying in the phone and as I walked in and signed in. I experienced the worst and most hurtful comments and attitude from the staff at AQ nails. Which was surprising being that I had been recommending them to others, if not my normal place Peony Nails in Millis, MA. I even had my nails done once! We always saw them cleaning and I was SO impressed with the way the broke down and cleaned during the pandemic. Now, I called as soon as I could and right on the dot of my 11:30 am appointment almost. That was over an hour after I was suppose to have had a relief from work and to have been already in Dedham. I was in Millis at 11:30, arriving at 12:00 PM in Dedham. Yet they said they could still take me and I told them the truth and was just leaving work and I was unsure of how long and was just worried about getting in touch with them and thought we'd have to reschedule, which I wish we just did! I have never been talked to, the way the receptionist talked to me!! My mistake and I will never be going back. I got my nails done on Saturday, I didn't recognize the woman who did my mani & pedi but it was a disaster from the start. With my pedicure she messed up my polish 3 times, ultimately having to redo two nails. The pedicure felt rushed but since I'm ticklish I don't care much for it so I didn't put much thought into it. When we started on my manicure I felt like this lady was running a relay, the woman next to me was seated before me by the time my (very bad) gel mani was done she was only on her 2 coat of her gel mani! I made sure to ask if she got a "deluxe mani" for reference, she didn't. The total time I spent in the salon, from when I walked in the door to when I got in my car was 41 minutes. For a gel mani & pedi! Of course By Tuesday 8/10 fingernails polish was bubbling! I wasn't too upset because they looked so horrible, I went back and they reluctantly redid my nail polish. And though I am MUCH more content with the nails my cuticles are DESTROYED. read more

This is a big place. Lots of stations, but not a lot of nail technicians when I was there for a manicure. Very unfriendly. No one smiled or chatted with me. When I asked about having my nails buffed instead of putting on polish, I was told that would be five dollars extra. I've never encountered an extra charge for buffing. I am rating it a 2 after my last experience. I had went in the day before a wedding and was clear with what I wanted. I even told the front desk that I was picky and my skin was sensitive so I need someone that pays attention to details. They gave me a young woman who basically did a half assed job. My massage was less then 2 mins and she basically flew through my pedicure. With my gel manicure she not only did one layer and did not cover the whole nail. She then went back to refill and ruined all of them. I went back the next day, only for the front desk guy to be very abrasive. He made a scene which was embarrassing. He was acting as if he saw nothing wrong and I was using up his tech time. Which let me say, both were tipped well. I started to get them re done and the tech ended up using a liquid that infected my nail. My nail and the skin around it was swollen, infected and painful.
