I was a previous aptive employee, I took my 5 day of PTO a week before the 14th of December. In the 14th my first newborn child was born. I got a call early morning from my finance that her water broke, without hesitation I drove to pick her up. THE DAY of leaving the hospital I call my OM to check in, he explain to me the office manager KRISTIN wants to fire me due to running a red light. The day of leaving the hospital and days before Christmas. I hope you're happy with not only taking away my only source of pay but my only transportation, cell phone and families health care. Only for the pest control guy to tell me 30 mins prior that he is coming to my house at the end of the route. I already planned my whole day around him coming from 8-12 and had another appointment at 1. When i called Aptiva to schedule a specific time, they said I had to pick another day. Ridiculous that a pest control appointment cause me a whole day's pay. I just canceled my contract which cost me $199. Do not sign up for Aptiva. The service is horrid. And honestly, I don't think the pest control was any better than if you serviced your house yourself. read more

I told her I'm using Barefoot Pest Control where they disclose ingredients of essential oils and pyrethroid. They sent a nice enough young man, a college student from Florida, doing exterminating as a summer job. Looked like they told him how to do it, but didn't actually train him. I had to repeatedly show him areas he missed. He sprayed all the basebords, but skipped the door thresholds a major pest entry port. Then it came time for the June treatment... I'm out of town most of the summer every year. I come home for the last week of August to take care of business. I explained this to the salesman when I signed up for the series of treatments: No summer treatments except the last week of August . He assured I could postpone the June and July treatment until I was home and could let them in. That was a big fat lie. They pelted me with emails and texts, "We're coming! Billing is automatic! Treatment can't be postponed." A dozen such emails and texts. Their customer service line is off the hook during most businesses hours. Emails just provoke more of the above, all automated. I finally got through on the phone and left a message threatening to have me neighbor put his pit bull in the yard. And, wonder of wonders, I got a human reply, "Are you threatening our technician??" I replied, "Yes!" They terminated my account (thank God) and billed me $199 for what I have no idea. I'm not paying it of course, and the instant they turn me over to a collection agency I'm going to Small Claims Court and suing them under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and for slander of credit. They will reply that the dispute has to go to arbitration, and any suit has to be in Colorado. I know the answer to that, I've been down this road many times and I'm good at it. I CAN NOT WAIT! I regret letting Aptive's door-to-door salesman talk me into buying what I thought was just a single treatment in the amount of $54.13. What I didn't know at the time was that I had signed a long-term contract. A couple of weeks later I was shocked to discover that there was another Aptive exterminator in my back yard. I told him to go ahead with the second treatment but that I wanted no more visits. Later I get a bill for $177 for both visits, a big mark up for the 2nd visit. I immediately sent Aptive a written notice to cancel my service. But later I found out that there was an additional $199 penalty for early cancelation. This company is a scam....read your contract carefully because they will talk about the great discounts they are giving you, then add additional fees. I paid over $500 for an initial payment and then over $300 per treatment. They were charging me for German Cockroach service...which in reality you don't need since the regular treatment does that...it's just their scam fees. On top of that, I had to pay $199 cancellation fee...which I was "glad" to do, since I signed up under a new pest control company that will charge me $89 for the same service, so will get my money back basically after the first treatment. Dishonest practices---customer service that is polite but doesn't deliver as stated---good products that work as expected It is my opinion that this company, though having products that perform as expected, is primarily focused on making as much money off the customer as possible and do so in a dishonest manner. Presented to me as a "quarterly" service, they have repeatedly attempted to come bi-monthly, and treatments are attempted with same-day texts, the most recent with a "20 to 40 minute" notice. Additionally, though they sold my first treatment at a reduced rate, a "follow-up" treatment was done a month later at the quarterly rate. When I said something about it, I was told the treatment was needed to get any pests that were missed. I have spoken by phone with them about the scheduling and was told my account would be noted for every 3 months, but 2-month treatments continue to be attempted, necessitating the need to call the office to reschedule. Also, the fact that the service was a 2-year contract was withheld until the end of the sales pitch and agreement to use their service and it's all electronic. There is no paper copy of the contract. I'm honestly really surprised by all these negative reviews, so far our experience with Aptive has been great. We have a ton of mosquitos in our backyard and the usual other bugs but I knew we needed a "bug guy" so I guess that made me more open to Aptive when they came to our front door. The salesman, Dallin, was kind and professional, he had an Ipad with him to show me their google reviews, etc when I told him I preferred to do my research and I really liked that he was prepared in that way. We signed up for their services right then that day, we normally turn away all solicitors but like I said, he was professional and prepared and we desperately needed a bug guy. The sign up process was easy and efficient. The Segway? I agree, a lot cheesy and bit over the top but that doesn't effect my service so what does it matter you know? Anyhow, our first service was scheduled for the following afternoon with Wes. Wes was on time, friendly, and informative. The service was knocked out in under 30 minutes for our 1500 sq. ft. home and our pets were able to use the backyard again in about 30 more when everything dried. We are looking forward to our next treatment when they take care of the mosquito problem - I will update this review then. read more

Their customer service has been really great for me. The techs have been awesome too! However, I've noticed that having them spray hasn't done a whole lot for me. I still have ants and for the first time, I found two roaches in my bathroom. What made me cancel service as of today (7/8/2021) was the mosquito spray that I recently had done. Within 24 hours of having my yard sprayed, my dog started vomiting. Now, they recommend keeping your pets locked up for an hour after the spray. I waited 3 hours just to be safe. I have had them for a year and I don't see improvements in our pest situation. I have found roaches and spiders right after spraying, and ants in my house. Had them out to take care of a wasp nest, they just knocked it down with a broom and the wasps were right back the next day. Techs are here for like 5 mins only, so not even sure if they are doing everything. Have had to call for resprays often, not what I would expect for what they are promising. Customer service is terrible, good luck getting through to a human being. When I finally did, I was hung up on when they tried to transfer me to someone else. It all sounds good until you see what the execution guys do...they at your house for maybe 10 mins & claim victory if they knock down one wasp nest. They didn't spray my entire yard as promised, didn't flag some issues that they sprayed & leave your windows & doors with a spotty film that is hard to clean off. At any time in between services, if we see a live or dead bug in the house we can call and schedule an additional spray service for inside and outside at NO CHARGE. That's like unheard of. Definitely makes you feel good about your payment! We've moved into a new home and have had probably 3-4 services done, all of the employees have been VERY nice to work with, all while being Covid safe. I will say Bruce (Nickname: Batman) went above and beyond though! He talked with me about what specific bugs I have seen and was polite entering our home. Bruce was extremely patient and thorough even though we were his last service on a Friday afternoon. Aptive is lucky to have a dedicated and happy employee like him. I have a no soliciting sign prominently on the door. I only answered the door as I was expecting a utility company to come by and make my lines. The man did not introduce himself or state which company he was with. I asked if he was from the utility company. He said no. He showed me his tablet which had Adaptive Pest on it. I said if you're selling something I'm not interested and closed the door. He remained on my front porch. I opened the door again and pointed out that I have a no soliciting sign and to please leave. I also stated that with coronavirus spiking he should not be going door to door. At that point he was still on my front porch and I repeated again that he needed to leave. A guy came to my house last night at 7:45 pm and refused to leave after ringing my doorbell because he could hear the TV on. Just stood there leaning on my porch column like he lived there now. I answered the door and said I wasn't interested and instead of gracefully leaving he launched into his spiel anyway, telling me my house was infested with spiders (not true but I'd be happy if it were) and mud daubers (also good) and the snails on my walls would kill a dog (don't have a dog), and told me if he didn't spray fire ants would bite me in my sleep. He explained that we could get a one time treatment for $50 that would treat for ants and mosquitoes. When we said that we weren't interested, he dropped the price to $20. I usually dont review service. I'm a foodie girl, but this is some mess. The last time got serviced was MAY. They came on some random day I was not home to show where the problem areas were. It is now AUG. I have tried to call multiple times to get rid of spider situation we have to no avail. Its IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL. Phones? No answer, their machines hang up on you after 25 minutes exactly on hold. Been a customer of Aptiv since May 2023. While the technicians that come to the house are nice and professional the administration is horrible. I hired them for mosquito and roach abatement which has moderately effective. The customer service is overseas and its IMPOSSIBLE to reach a local representative. I've asked the technician to have a local representative call me but had no response from Aptiv. I even drove to Aptiv Austin office; the lights were on, door locked and no one answering the door. I don't understand my contract and have a terrible time communicating with the overseas call center. They are also quite expensive after giving an initial low price treatment. The first time we ignored him and just watched him on multiple security cameras across the property before leaving, while walking entirely through our yard. Not taking the hint, he came by again this evening. Both times he ignored the "no soliciting" sign. When we called him out on it, he said he didn't see it despite it being RIGHT BY THE DOORBELL which he was able to successfully locate and ring. Be aware that I am writing this amid the Coronavirus crisis. This week is in fact the beginning of the "Phase 1" Texas reopening. As of this the time of this review, polling shows that many people are still deeply concerned about reopening, and strict social distancing guidelines are still in place. We've been here in the house for 7 weeks as of today, since they closed the schools. So we were pretty shocked when someone rang our doorbell unexpected and uninvited. He had backed up to about 8 feet away from my door, so I opened it. It was a guy in his 20s in an Aptive t-shirt with a clipboard wanting to sell me pest control. I told him to leave my property, and pointed out that people don't want strangers at their door right now! Disgusted that any company would think it appropriate to send out door-to-door salesman right now, I called the phone numbers listed on their website to make sure the guy who rang my bell wearing an Aptive t-shirt wasn't just a scammer out casing houses or something and was actually one of their employees. One of the numbers on the website was disconnected. The "Austin" location number was answered by someone in Utah. She said she didn't have a direct line to the Austin branch but could send them an email asking them to call me. Hmmm. That seemed pretty shady, especially in combination with the door-to-door guy and the b.s. website contact info. So I started Googling the company and pest control companies out of Utah who do door-to-door sales in general. You can Google it yourself, but after reading a dozen or so articles I decided it sounded like a pretty shady racket, possibly one that exploits college age kids. You make your own call. Then, to my surprise, someone with a Texas phone number DID call me back. They claimed to be from Aptive and after hearing my complaint, disavowed that they had Aptive Pest Control salesmen out doing door-to-door sales right now. So, they could be lying and throwing the kid they are exploiting under the bus (they seem shady) or the kid could be up to no good and he is the one exploiting their name. In either case, neighbors beware and make a careful, informed choice. read more
