They just rolled it into my garage. My warehouse is directly across the street from my house, on the same route back to their shop. I offered to grab a piece of paper, write and sign a waiver releasing them of any liability, and even offered one hundred dollars for the quick drop off. The crew told me it was an insurance issue, but when I spoke to the owner, he said it was not insurance. It was simply policy. He was matter of fact and showed no interest in helping or even listening. They were perfectly willing to take my old refrigerator six miles away to their warehouse and deal with it there, but when it came to dropping it off at my warehouse, right across the street from my house and directly on their route, suddenly it was a problem. I tried to reason with the owner, explaining how simple it would be, but he just was not hearing me. I was the last delivery of the day, and it would have taken no more than two minutes. We spent more time standing there talking about it than it would have taken to make it happen. So instead, they left it sitting in my garage, where it has stayed ever since. Every time I open that middle garage door and see it sitting there, I am reminded that it could have been in my warehouse where it belongs. It takes up space and serves as a daily reminder of how this business handled a simple, reasonable request. That decision cost them the sale of the oven and microwave I bought elsewhere, and probably more through word of mouth. They lost a loyal customer, and for what? Two minutes of time. It is his business, and he can run it how he wants. I respect that. But common sense went right out the window. This was never about insurance. It was about policy and a lack of flexibility. The owner's public response did nothing to change that impression. I am keeping this at one star because his reply only confirmed my experience. Instead of owning the situation or acknowledging what really happened, he repeated an inaccurate story that does not reflect the facts. He also inspected and cleaned the dryer while he was in there and said the heating element didn't need replaced, as I had asked him to go ahead and do it as well if warranted. They were gracious and efficient and even suggested a way we could solve a problem with a drawer really close to the refrigerator. I worked with Kevin, who was not pushy at all, and generally was happy to just talk about what they had to offer in my price range. The big key for me is the service, especially after the purchase. I've had pretty poor experiences from the larger retailers who subcontract out the delivery/install. Metropolitan Appliance handles this portion of the experience only with in-house employees. This is a huge plus for me, especially if there are issues. And for someone who lives in an older home, there are ALWAYS issues. In my case, the range was perfect, but the dishwasher was not. What I ordered wouldn't quite work in my space. I was able to speak the technician about what the issue was, he noted his advice in their system, and I worked with Kevin to find something that would work given the new information. I also had to reschedule the second delivery the day before due to a change in my work schedule, and even though it was Kevin's day off, another employee answered the phone immediately and was able to give me alternative dates. Which were only a couple of days later, not a month out. Today I was able to get the dishwasher installed. The same team showed up. Ned and Jacob were great both times they worked in our home. They were polite and genuinely good people to talk to, and seemed to enjoy their work. They took me through what they were doing in the install at my request for some future changes I had planned. They also realized early on in the day that they were going to be a bit later than the delivery window I was originally provided with. Ned reached out immediately, kept me updated, and I was able to make use of that time instead of sitting at home waiting for no reason. Long story short, despite my moderate purchases here, I felt that my business was actually appreciated. The appliances didn't cost anything more than they would have elsewhere, and the install team was courteous and upbeat, even after a long day.

The online scheduling at their website was successful and a pop-up window said they would contact us shortly. However, we received no message from them by email, text, or phone. We called them to confirm, but no one answered and the call went to voicemail. We left a message but received no response. The repairman never showed up. They most likely are out of business but have not taken down their website.
