The customer service for this business was so outstanding. I thought my washer was dying and went there to look for a new washer. The sales man started asking my questions about my washer and determined that it needed a $6 part and took me to the service desk and the tech told me how to take the wringer off and bring it in. After my original review, the owner replied publicly. His explanation does not match what happened. The delivery crew had not even loaded my old refrigerator yet. They just rolled it into my garage. My warehouse is directly across the street from my house, on the same route back to their shop. I offered to grab a piece of paper, write and sign a waiver releasing them of any liability, and even offered one hundred dollars for the quick drop off. The crew told me it was an insurance issue, but when I spoke to the owner, he said it was not insurance. It was simply policy. He was matter of fact and showed no interest in helping or even listening. They were perfectly willing to take my old refrigerator six miles away to their warehouse and deal with it there, but when it came to dropping it off at my warehouse, right across the street from my house and directly on their route, suddenly it was a problem. I tried to reason with the owner, explaining how simple it would be, but he just was not hearing me. I was the last delivery of the day, and it would have taken no more than two minutes. We spent more time standing there talking about it than it would have taken to make it happen. So instead, they left it sitting in my garage, where it has stayed ever since. Every time I open that middle garage door and see it sitting there, I am reminded that it could have been in my warehouse where it belongs. It takes up space and serves as a daily reminder of how this business handled a simple, reasonable request. That decision cost them the sale of the oven and microwave I bought elsewhere, and probably more through word of mouth. They lost a loyal customer, and for what? Two minutes of time. It is his business, and he can run it how he wants. I respect that. But common sense went right out the window. This was never about insurance. It was about policy and a lack of flexibility. The owner's public response did nothing to change that impression. I am keeping this at one star because his reply only confirmed my experience. Instead of owning the situation or acknowledging what really happened, he repeated an inaccurate story that does not reflect the facts. Jon the Salesperson had been with McKinney's only two weeks when we walked in the door. But he had years at Home Depot already. He was better -- with knowledge and patience -- than excellent. That day we settled on two fridges, washer, dryer, dishwasher and stove. McKinney's printed a bid with every model number that we could price against Home Depot and Lowes. McKinney's prices were either the same, or a couple of dollars less. But its all about service. McKinney's delivered efficiently and hauled off our old stuff gladly. Entirely impressed. The service department had me reset the computer and told me if that did not work call back for an appointment. Worked just fine for a few days and it did it again. On Sunday I went to do a load of washing, and somehow the door locked meaning the machine wouldn't run. On Monday morning I phoned and the great service technician said he'd put me down for a service call on Tuesday, BUT he first gave me instructions of what to try first. He's instructions worked perfectly and machine rebooted. Who knew that a computer chip in a washing machine could be rebooted. Lol. So, no service called needed and money saved. read more

We ALWAYS find the exact appliance we are looking for at a reasonable price at McKinneys. Plenty of 1:1 sales folks to answer questions but NO PRESSURE to buy. McKinney's backs their products, delivers and hauls away your old appliance, if needed. We love the fact its locally owned and no longer comparison shop Lowes or Home Depot since you can't beat the reliability, quality appliances and service. #1- There already existed the opportunity to assist us--unfortunately unsatisfactorily. #2- We Googled re. the Aqua Lift cleaning technology--many bad reviews, which was told to your rep. #3- Better communication re. extended warranties with appliance companies should exist. #4- Googled re. any reported issues with broilers turning off prematurely when timer is set due potentially to faulty control boards, temperature sensors or energy saving features. This should have been covered to check from Whirlpool with an extended warranty which did not come up after registering appliance. Communication?? #5- Consumer beware! This appliance potentially could have had a faulty control board originally and we are only discovering this issue now. #6- This has been a learning experience. Other larger companies offer extended warranties outside of any initial manufacture's one year. read more

Our purchase started out amazing. It was when there was a problem with the Jennair stove we bought and Jennair/whirlpool continued to tell me I would be getting a new stove. Long story short my stove could have burnt my house down. I was without a stove from Aug. To late November. I finally called McKinney's after no help from Jennair to get my new stove. I thought that they would be more helpful as they supported the product being sold at their store. When they finally got my new stove in the store I was told it could not be delivered for another 16 days after already having no stove for a number of months. Chris told me that he was sorry but he had had so many new customers that day to buy products that I was a few weeks out for delivery. I asked to talk to the owner. Chris told me he did not know his schedule and I would have to contact him myself. I said this was ridiculous and he told me it was not. I said I needed a new frig and based on the lack of support I was getting I would go through another store. He told me to go to another store. I called and talked to the owner who was nice and was able to get me on the schedule for the following Monday to have my stove delivered. I asked him if they could at least plug it in and make sure it did not make the popping noises the first one did and make sure it got to temperature. He assured me they would. Once they dropped it off that is all they did. They refused to plug it in to double check it worked this time around. I called to let the owner know. I have yet to hear back from him and it has been over a month. Jennair wrote me to let me know that the person who delivered would hook up and McKinney's told me they don't do that. So I was left with a new stove, but had to pay 2 times to get the down draft hooked up. McKinney's is a great store as long as nothing goes wrong with your appliance. The lack of customer service when something goes wrong is disappointing for a small family owned business and I guess it is back to the big box stores for me. read more

I definitely recommend seeing James Painter for all of your appliance needs. I was searching for a specific microwave that was out of stock and nearly a month out everywhere I had looked. I talked to James and he not only had it in stock but was very thorough in making sure the fit was right and everything else I needed to know. This is in response to my first review I posted and to rob the owners response. You said Mike had been trying to call me all that day he finally called me at 3:15 on the day you posted I was in a meeting by the time I got out GE was closed it took me 4 days to get through the GE to schedule a service. Jeff came back out I showed him where the freezer was still frosting up he said he didn't he said the doors left open I said no it's not he opened it and shut it to go see the doors open I said You just left it open. I make sure the door is always shut. The fridge started frosting then after he replaced the board on the second trip and I lost all my vegetables and stuff he ordered a part My service is going to be in a week and a half but I told him my freezer is going to cause my fridge to shut down again this was Thursday sure enough this morning I've lost all my food again. I've got four service calls here and I just went online scheduled another one for Wednesday but I'm losing food and they're not replacing my food I have lost over $1,000 worth of stuff now including my medicines which is more than that and now I'm stuck without a fridge working again. Worst service I have ever experienced. Spent $2k on a new washer dryer that did not work. McKinney's would not lift a finger to help. Was told to call GE directly. After hours on the phone and a week later, GE technician says new parts needed and can't say when it will be fixed. McKinney's offered to take it back for a 25% restocking fee! Ridiculous! How does this company stay in business?! The same w/d is in stock and less expensive at Home Depot and Lowes. I was trying to give business to a local company, but lesson learned. I had a refrigerator delivered and getting the old one out and new one in proved to be tedious to say the least because of the opening size of our door. We were the last delivery on a Friday and Collin and Ben just rolled up their sleeves and made it happen. They were so professional and so careful when removing the doors and putting them back on. Update Feb 2022. The way to get a response in a couple of hours is to publicly share your experience. I made the purchases, using my phone number. I didn't leave a positive review for the $1k+ dishwasher because the sales guy argued features with me and insisted a certain feature was on what I was purchasing. Care to guess who was right? Then, they deliver the refrigerator. Damage to exterior door frame, exterior step and our floors. Delivery guy knew of damage, yet I had to call. I had to call, yet we had to go in and show photos. Husband goes in, yet has to email. Email, email, email, no response. Then, after review, they call HIS number. After all that, they blame it on an old and 'not monitored' email address? Read between the lines folks. And each passing day I look at the 6ish inch grooves in my floor ticks me off even more. All that said, repair guy was sent out immediately for exterior door frame and performed a 'fair' repair. At least the damaged wood won't rot now. ********** Our 2nd appliance purchase from McKinney's in the past few months was a refrigerator. During delivery, requested caution with our solid wood floors. Floors received additional scratches and grooves, a front doorstep received minor damage, and our front door frame was damaged during delivery. Delivery guy profusely apologized for the door frame damage and recommended I call the store for resolution. (I have before and during delivery photos.) Called the store, received another apology and request for resolution. I said we will ignore the floors and step, but want the front door frame repaired and repainted (exterior home was repainted a few months ago). I was then asked to come in to show photos. Husband went in and an offer of $50 was made, which would not cover the cost of damage. He was told we need to email the owner photos. We have spent over $4k (+tax) on 2 appliances in a few months, yet when they cause damage, they do not fix the damage, give a run around with call/come in/email and the owner appears to be ignoring the 3 emails (12/19, 12/29/21 and 1/5/22) since it has been over 3 weeks later. I had an issue with the warranty for my new dishwasher. I wrote a critical revue in June when I could find no one to come service my problem. Turns out the issue was with Whirlpool, not McKinney's. Kari called me, explained the entire situation, apologized, and then went to work with the Whirlpool Rep to fix my problem. We are very happy with the results! After purchasing the most expensive washer & dryer combo in the store...the delivery guys decided to swap the location of the washer and dryer. Without asking. They also opted not to make sure the gas hose for the dryer was long enough to reach from the new location. I called and talked to my salesman, Mike about it. He said i could come in and he would give me the hose. An inconvenience, but what were my alternatives? So, we arrive, i send my husband in for the hose. Mike tries to give him a dryer vent hose. I guess he wasnt listening when we spoke...on top of thst he wanted to argue about what size hose we needed and tried to push the wrong size hose on us. The kicker? After spending over $2k he charged us for the $20 hose we needed only because of his delivery team. Great service. We won't be back. Its unfortunate when the small, local business gives you the same shitty service as the big box stores, but at twice the price. read more

Update: Hey Kari and Rob it wont let me message you back. Your guys said it was grease that came off the hinges. I wasn't home when they installed it and my husband let them in who works remotely and just let them do their thing so neither of us know how this came to be. I just know when I got off work my floors had these spots dried onto them and upon further inspection of the unit there are scratches on the side too. It doesn't look tracked in from a previous job, but like it dripped off the unit. Anyways I tried to send this to you over message, but it wouldn't let me send it on here. Here is added pics of the drips before I cleaned them up which to my relief did come up, but still not how I want to come home to grease stains on my floor new floors and my house left in a worse state after your guys had been there. Upon further inspection to realize they also installed a scratched unit I'm really upset. I noticed it last night upon my husband and I going over plans for the rest of the laundry room. He thought it was sticker residue he told me, but no it turns out it's actually scratches where the finish has been removed off the side. We paid $200 extra to get this finish and we were sent a damaged product. I'm really upset to see not only was my house not left in the state it was in when they arrived, but they installed a damaged unit and left it all this way. My husband or I will be calling you to follow up on this as soon as we can because this is not acceptable to me and we paid for a new unit and being sent a scratched washer when we paid full price does not seem fair to me as a paying customer. It's honestly a bigger headache for me to even address from here, but I do want it made right because it seems really unfair to be sent the unit when it has already been damaged. read more

Amazing service. Period. Our sales person, Kevin, was absolutely wonderful. He has made the purchase, installation and final details a breeze. McKinney's will setup and test your purchase before final delivery. In doing this they found our new Kitchen Aid fridge had a bad control panel, communicating with us, they mentioned there would be a week delay. We were glad for the communication. A week latter our fridge was delivered. Two buttons on the control panel didn't work. We called Kevin. He mentioned he could have a fridgidare tech to come our home and install a new control panel. We weren't to happy about this, yet we were going to deal with it. Boom!!!! Kevin called back and said he didn't want to put us thru having a tech tinker with a new $3k fridge, and they will be sending us a brand new fridge! Wow!!! He knocked my socks off. I can't say enough nice things about McKinney's. We like to shop local whenever possible, and McKinney's has always made it a worthwhile tradition. Our most recent purchase was a new fridge. Ours had been broken for weeks when we learned that it was not reparable. We headed to McKinney's the next day. Nate, our salesperson, was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He helped us choose the perfect fridge, and was very patient as I looked at several options several times! Once we selected the one we wanted, we learned it had been over ordered and they were waiting for more to come in. Because we were without a refrigerator, Nate went the extra mile and spoke to his manager about getting us one right away since some of the orders were for new builds and were not needed yet. The fridge was delivered the next day! The McKinney's delivery guys were polite, helpful, and quick to get it installed and hauled our broken one away. Their prices are a bit higher than the big box stores, but I believe they sell a higher quality product and their service cannot be matched! My fridge died a day ago and boys from McKinney's Appliances just delivered and helped me install a brand new fridge. Nine years ago when my husband and I built our house we bought ALL of our appliances for our new home from McKinney's, the experience was good but I am now thinking this was only because there were no problems with anything we bought. Fast forward to now, one of those appliances-the dryer was starting to have issues so we decided to use McKinney's again. We like to support local small business. So we bought a new washer and dryer. Our salesman was very helpful. The stands had to be ordered so we went ahead and had the washer and dryer installed and paid extra for them to come back and install the stands when they came in. No problems having the washer and dryer installed. I even called and told the manager what a good job they did. I now know that there was a gouge in the side of the washer that I could not see because it was covered by the cabinet, we later discovered it when they put the stands on and the washer was higher than the cabinet thus exposing the gouge. When they came back to install the stands there was an issue with them fitting under our cabinets but the bigger issue was they installed a stand that was clearly damaged. We noticed that after they left. We decided that since they did not fit under our cabinets and one of the stands was damaged that we would return the stands instead of having to alter our cabinets. I would also like to mention when they were installing the stands and realized they did not fit they did not call my husband into the room to take a look and decide what we would like to do. They just put them on and crammed the washer under the cabinet and left the dryer in the middle of the room because it was a hair higher and would not fit under the cabinet. We had them come back and remove the stands and when doing so they scratched the top of the dryer. They did not bring this to our attention. We discovered it after they left. I called the salesman to discuss everything that had happened, and that I was very upset that the dryer had been scratched during the stand removal and my salesperson was telling me that I had to call and make an appointment with GE for them to come out and fix the scratch that McKinney's caused. When I told him that I was not happy his response was "well we aren't happy that we had to take the stands back". At that point as angry as I was for being treated like this it was clear to me that McKinney's is happy to take your money but not happy to help when there is a problem I just said thank you and left it at that. So if you buy from McKinney's if you have any issues beware, AND they are perfectly happy installing damaged items and are not careful when doing so and are very carless. I feel if this had been handled differently with communication and better customer service this could have been a much better experience even with the issues that we had. read more

My landlord purchased a new refrigerator through this company. They delivered the new refrigerator and took the old one. The tech that delivered showed me the controls and told me how to set them. The frozen food I put into the freezer from my old freezer was half way I thawed 6 hours later. Long story short the refrigerator or freezer is not keeping things cool like it should and I've had to throw away all the ice cream and frozen goods as well as give away most of the frozen meat in there. My landlord gave McKinney's my number to schedule to have another "new" refrigerator delivered. They called and I told them it was kind of urgent that my frozen stuff was going to go bad. The soonest they could make time for a delivery is Wednesday after 4pm. 6 days after they delivered a defective refrigerator. When you deliver a product that doesn't work you need to make that customer a priority. This is a poor way to do business and have lost most things that were in the freezer. You always want to support small businesses but these guys are completely disappointing. We purchased a full set of appliances a few months back and after installing the dishwasher had a slight leak so we called to find out what we should do. Immediately they guy who answered told us that whoever had installed put it in wrong so you may just want to contact whoever did it. Okay fine but then I asked a question about our oven prior to buying it came with insert basket and the sales person said oh yea absolutely so I mentioned it to the person on the phone and he responded with no our employees would never tell you something like that what you see if what you get. Also, during purchasing a group of employees were talking about the customers that came in making jokes and smart remarks about them. 1000% do not recommend. read more

Update: The owner contacted us a few hours after I wrote this review and offered to take the washer and drier back without charging us the fee. He was very apologetic, and said the salesperson we had been working with should not have dealt with the situation the way he did. They called back later that day and said they had another washer in stock (same model as we purchased) that they had been holding for another customer who did not need it for a few weeks, and they could swap it out for the faulty set and bring it out to us the next day. I appreciate that the owner reached out to fix the situation. I have updated the review from 1 star accordingly. Original Review: Mckinney's sold us a broken washer and drier and refused to take it back. They sold it to us under the pretense that it was new. After it was delivered and we discovered it was broken, they made us wait a week for a GE repairman to come out and take a look at it. They told us if the GE repairman didn't fix it that day they would deliver us a new washer the next day. They said they would get started on ordering a new one right away to make sure we had a working washer and drier. A week later GE determined the washer had a broken control board and inlet valve. When we told Mckinney's the news and that we are ready for our replacement, they then tried to get us to schedule another appointment with GE to fix their broken washer. GE would have to order the parts and could not give us a timeframe for when it would be fixed. It turns out Mckinney's doesn't have a replacement for us after all and if they order one now they would not be able to get it to us for three weeks. The only reason we went with Mckinney's is that we needed a washer and drier quickly, and they said they could give us a washer a few days earlier than the big box stores could. I have already been dealing with this for too long and I am out of clean clothes, so we just asked to return the broken washer they sold us. They refused. Mckinney's tells us the only way they would take it back was if we paid them $400; 25% of the price of the washer and drier. I am really wishing I had just gone to Home Depot so I could just be doing laundry by now and not be dealing with this headache. If you buy something from this place, keep in mind you might be buying a broken appliance with no way to get your money back. read more

I placed my order in May 2021, I was not told that the range was missing from the order before delivery. I reached out to the salesperson by phone and was informed that there were three other people slated ahead of me that got their ranges first, and he did not have a time frame as to when a new shipment would arrive. I asked to speak to the store owner, who was not available, so on that conversation, I told the salesperson that I was the third woman, who also has had problems with Mckinney's that I personally know in Olympia. A couple of hours later, I received a phone call from the salesperson to inform me that my range would be delivered the next day. If I had not told the story about other women having these problems, I wonder if the salesperson would have magically pulled a range out of his hat. I feel as if the salespeople play the shell game for which appliance goes to which customer. Such a great experience, and prices comparable to Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears! The website isn't great, but when you go in they're incredibly helpful. No one tries to get you to go outside of your budget or your needs. I recently purchased a chest freezer for our garage. They had one floor model and one "regular" model. When I asked the salesman what the difference was, his response was "well this one saves you $40, so I would go with it!" Delivery fee was a little steep ($50), but not terrible. 100% will return for future appliance needs. read more
