I'm an out of state landlord and needed help repairing a damaged refrigerator and dishwasher. Appliance Pros was able to quickly come out to take a look. They repaired the refrigerator at a fraction of what it would cost to replace it. They're honest and advised to replace the dishwasher instead of attempting to repair it. After the repair was complete, they were able to accept credit card payment over the phone and I received an invoice via email for tax purposes. read more

Honest, but a bit pricey and recommends replacing more than necessary. I have gas oven and range unit. The range had on burner that consistently would not light and the oven had a gas smell while be slow to heat. Appliance Pros did quickly arrange to come and take a look. They were on time and professional. The repair guy spent time to describe what he believed the issues to be and what parts needed to be replaced. There was a $69 charge for service call and the quote was $781 to repair both issues. He recommended simply buying a replacement for our $2,000+ unit. I found the parts needed for the repair on the internet and they only cost about $200. Suspecting that the labor would be less than the $581 difference, I decided to call another place. Manny Appliance Repair did the analysis for $55 (20% less) and repaired the burners on the spot. The issue was NOT what Appliance Pros had diagnosed. The total cost for repair from Manny Appliance was $370 ($411 less expensive or less than 1/2 the cost of Appliance Pros). The repairs have been completed and the range and oven have been working well ever since. So I am out $69 to Appliance Pros, but $340 better overall. It is rare that I would have even known since I am not usually willing to pay for a Service Call /Estimate twice on the same item. read more

My 18 mo old Maytag stopped working. Something to do with the master controller. Maytag said their repair team was 4 weeks out so I found Appliance Pros on Yelp. They were quick to come out and diagnose the issue. It took about a week to order and receive the part and the repair tech to repair. The repair tech was all business, no fluff but that's ok because I just wanted my washer fixed. I appreciated his getting the job done and moving on to the next house. Well, our failing built in fridge needed help on a Saturday. Yelp has become our de-facto Yellow Pages, so I set about finding a local contractor to get our cooling back on line. I called and spoke to Dara, who was very helpful and told me that Richard would be out later that afternoon. On a Saturday. Things were looking up. Richard arrived early, and Appliance Pros even had text notification that he would be early. So convenient. I had read in several of the reviews about Richard's honest appliance assessments, and our fridge was no different. We adopted a service and wait plan that would hopefully fix our cooling in the short term, but provide us with a common sense guide as to whether replacement of our $10,000 built in would be required. Richard was able to re-charge our refrigerant and got us back to cooling status in under an hour. Thank you for your timely response and common sense approach to our repair. How refreshing is it to arrange for an appliance repair, only to be told that the fix would be more costly than a replacement? This is exactly what I was told by Richard when he came last week to repair my noisy Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. The machine is approximately eight years ago, fully functionqble, yet becoming noisier as it does its final spin. Richard diagnosed the problem, and told me what would be required to replace the faulty bearings. The difficulty in disassembling the machine to replace the part, would be very costly he advised me. How honest and straightforward is that? Another service repair may have tried applying a band-aid fix, essentially costing me a temporary solution! VERY impressed! read more

Our Whirlpool Duet Gas dryer suddenly stopped working. Richard came out next day and performed troubleshooting with diagnosis of bad door sensor switch. He ordered the part and a few days later scheduled the install. Getting to the old part was a major chore but Richard replaced the switch and the dryer is working good as new. Very professional and they have my strong recommendation. They also work on washers, microwaves, ovens, and refrigerators. read more

Richard Black is a very nice person, but I will not recommend him because I feel he did not really do anything other than suggest a new refrigerator or a new ice maker without once taking out any tools or running any diagnostics on what possibly could be the problem. I did some of my own research and found that there is a diagnostic sheet under one of the hinges of the door. I doubt if Richard even knew that because he never looked for it or asked if I had one. I would have liked to have seen him at least remove the ice maker and check for errors on the diagnostic tests that could be preformed by using the schematic sheet with the diagnostic codes on it. The $79 charge to come into my home and basically tell me I need a new refrigerator was also a bit high compared to other service technicians that I could have called. So, I am sorry to say that he really did nothing that looked like a service. It was more like a friendly visit and a very expensive one at that. read more

Have a nice 10-12 year old propane range that was having trouble with the igniters. Appliance Pros answered the call, did a free estimate quickly and was at the house when they said that they would be. It took a couple of weeks to get the parts, not surprising with a range of that age. When they got the parts they made arrangements to be at the house in a few days, would have been sooner but we were out of town. Spent several hours fixing the stove, got to the house when they said they would, everything good as new. I highly recommend them. They had suggested that while they were in the guts of the range, they replace the relatively inexpensive switches, one had broken and the rest were likely to, another service call and repair would be much more expensive than just replacing the switches now. I like that kind of advice. read more

I would never use them again. He came out to fix my ice maker and I mentioned I had a leak. I was charged for the ice maker and then he said it would be an additional $300 to fix a leak because he had to pull out an unmounted refrigerator and fix a leak. The only time it leaked was if it made ice or we got water out of the refrigerator. Within two days water was coming from underneath the refrigerator and he refused to come out and fix it free of charge. $300 to pull out a refrigerator and fix a simple leak is outrageous. I had someone else come out and the entire line was old and cracked and all Appliance Pros did was splice in a piece of line to an already brittle line and it continued to leak. The ice maker he replaced it with was not even a GE for $338 but an after market ice maker. read more
