Sultan came out to service my dryer which had a button stuck inside the door. I had a fully operable dryer before he came out.... he then told me it would be $600 to fix and I told him no way. I paid the $99 service fee, which later was refunded after 2 days of back and forth. He informed me the technician has been suspended and recognized how dangerous the situation was. He offered me a full refund. There is a lot to be said for a company who takes responsibility for their actions, so I appreciate that. The igniter went out on our oven and we called Steve's. Ash came out and replaced the igniter. A short time later, the oven would not heat again. We were still under warranty, so Ash came out again and said it was a faulty igniter and replaced it again. After that, the oven seemed to be working, but then the door would blow open we smelled gas. We called the gas company and he knew immediately it was a "misaligned igniter". We were informed it was extremely dangerous and the gas was turned off. We called Steve's once again and were told we would need to pay again as this was a "new" issue. It was like pulling teeth to get them to come out again so we had another company come out and they discovered the igniter was installed incorrectly-flipped around so the actual igniter piece was to far away from the burner to ignite properly. (Because it was incorrect, it only had one screw holding it on when there were holes for two screws, but in this incorrect position, the holes didn't line up. So the tech didn't recognize that something was wrong and only put one screw!) The gas would build up in the oven and then eventually reach the threshold to ignite and explode and blow the door open and release gas into the house!! It was beyond a novice mistake on the part of Steve's that could have been disastrous for my family. If I could give negative stars, I would.
