He only briefly looked at the washer itself and quickly concluded that the issue required a full lid assembly replacement costing around $400-$450, along with an $80 service charge for the visit. Afterwards, I purchased the replacement latch part from another appliance store for about $13 and replaced it myself in a few minutes after watching a repair video. The washer is now working properly. My concern is that the specific broken part I identified was not really evaluated, and the diagnosis felt very quick given the simplicity of the actual repair. I understand technicians rely on experience, but in this case the solution turned out to be far less complex than what was quoted. Overall, I left feeling that the issue wasn't fully considered, which led to an unnecessary service fee and a much more expensive repair recommendation than was needed.

I purchased a washer on 7-28-25 at the Colonial Heights store. I chose to pick it up on the 1st because I needed a washer Immediately. The salesman said they would call me when it came in. Friday came and I never heard anything so I called the store at 2pm and spoke to the salesman again and he said the washer would not be here until Monday the 4th. I expressed my dissatisfaction with my service because I had scheduled help to get the washer into the house on Friday and I had no way of getting the washer in the house on Monday. Again, I was told I could pick the washer up on Friday. The salesman said there must be a misunderstanding. I asked to have a discount on the washer because of the inconvenience and the salesman said he gave me the sale price. The salesman then told me he could give me my money back as a resolution to the problem. I then asked to speak to a manager and the salesman said he would be here on Saturday. I called on Saturday and spoke with a manager and explained the situation again. I asked the manager if they could waive the delivery fee since I had no one to help get the washer in the house and he said he would do it for $129.00. I then said if you could bring the price down to $100.00 I would except that. The manager said he could not do that. I told the manager that I have bought appliances from them before and bought numerous appliance parts but obviously my words fell on deaf ears. I then told him to cancel the order and I would call him back on Monday to give him my credit card information to credit my account. I called on Monday and spoke with the salesman again and gave him my information to return my money. He said he would take care of it. I checked my bank account on Thursday and the money still had not been returned. I called the store again and the salesman said my account was credited on Monday and it may take 2 to 3 days for the money to clear. He said if you don't see the money in your account by Friday to give us a call. I finally got a receipt for the transaction on my phone Friday afternoon. I then called my bank to verify the transaction and they told me that the transaction was actually done on Friday and not on Monday like the salesman said. I know the customer is not always right every time but when you are told that your money has been returned and it hasn't, you can pick your washer up on Friday and you can't. Then you are told you must have misunderstood what was said. If they are willing to lie about when your money has been returned to your account would they also lie about when the washer was supposed to come in? Integrity is everything!!!! I have done business with The Appliance Place for years and I have bought a Refrigerator, Dishwasher and numerous appliance parts from them with no problems. My family has also done business with The Appliance Place before but after this experience neither my family or I will give The Appliance Place our business or recommendations any more.

I would like for folks reading the negative reviews here to see them through that filter. I am the GC referenced in the recent unfortunate review herein. What I can say about that is, that nobody can satisfy everyone all the time. When things go sideways on a complex custom project, the true measure of a business is how they react. Zack and his company immediately stepped-up to the plate to address the homeowner's concerns, and were flat-out denied by that client, the opportunity to remedy. That this client would, over one year following the event, decide to trash this good company here and elsewhere around the internet is an injustice to their solid business practices, ethics and capabilities. Clearly, no business can or should be "everything to everyone". This is a very small local company with a big heart and willingness / capability to do their best for their clients. I encourage folks who are considering a special woodworking project to interview Zack, and welcome them to call me to talk about our experience together. We bought the 3 types of gaskets we needed. 2 rope gaskets for our window frame in our stove, (1 was for the vent area and 1 was for the glass that went inside of the frame) that was the 2 rope gaskets and then the 3rd one was for our Door hatch to the stove.
