We went to Lipscombe Appliance since I thought we needed a new clothes dryer. I wanted to buy local and not use a big chain store. The gentleman there asked about the issues we were having. He then suggested that, before buying a new dryer, we first get the dryer vent cleaned. He also suggested a reputable company for the vent cleaning. After the cleaning, everything is working fine. Several years back I had one of their technicians visit to repair our oven. They miss diagnosed the issue as a gas valve and never corrected the non operational oven. I was givin a partial reimbursement, but ended up paying a dispatch charge of about $125.00. since nothing was accomplished, my feeling is I shouldn't have been charged anything. We ultimately ended up with a new oven to correct the inoperable one. Consider other appliance repair would be my recommendation that treats you fairly. read more

They provided both personable and professional service along the way to include sending their service tech back 2 days after delivery to make a minor adjustment to level one of the doors. Purchased GE washing machine from them in 2020. It has never performed correctly. 80% of the loads are unbalanced and the machine will scoot several feet across the floor. I called and asked if it's still under warranty. The woman who answered the phone said it was under warranty and we scheduled a service call. Never once did she mention there would be a charge. If it's under warranty, why the service charge of $90 to tell me there was nothing wrong with it and it's just the design of the GE washer? The design of the GE washer? The technician said they normally recommend Speed Queen, yet willingly sold me this garbage in 2020, without even mentioning or talking to me about Speed Queen. So, after getting ripped off of $90, after the technician spent 15 minutes at my house to "run codes," I'm still left with a piece of garbage of a machine and no remedy. The code diagnostics did show many off balance loads. And that's not a problem? The machine doesn't function as intended. It's a lemon. DO NOT USE LIPSCOMB. They do not stand by the products they sell and will charge YOU when they do not function properly. If GE is garbage as the technician insinuated, why do they sell that garbage???? read more

Compare prices! They have mostly the same things big box stores have. Even when they say it's on sale, Lipscombe runs higher than Lowe's, Home Depot etc. When I called to ask why, the guy was very rude. He did give me a credit for the difference. Installation was efficient but left hard to remove stickers and hard to remove fingerprints on stainless appliances. Won't do business with Lipscombe again. This morning, my new GE range will be delivered. Did I pay more than I would if I'd bought at the big box stores? I don't know. What's more, I really don't care. Any savings I could have found at "blue/orange" mean nothing compared to the customer service Greg gives. This is my second appliance from Lipscombe and it won't be the last. All I get from the "other places" is frustration and a complete lack of customer service. I like to buy where my business is valued and I'm known by name. These guys are my heroes!! They know exactly what they are doing, have their own service techs, and have been in business for over 60 yrs (so I was told). Locally owned and operated - I will never purchase another appliance from anyone else again! See my saga below: I purchased a high end fridge from Lipscombes about 1.5 yrs and recently decided to moved. I opted to take the fridge with me since it was so new (and due to it being higher end, should last much longer than your standard brand). Long story almost shorter, un-be-known to me, the movers had no idea what they were doing and broke my semi-new fridge. It seems the movers laid the fridge down, on the brick side walk and one of them literally crawled on top of it to attempt to take the doors off (my BFF helping me move got a photo of this and my my my). Then they shoved it through the doorway, scratches & dings anyone?, we plugged it in......and no go! I know, your shocked right? I called Lipscombe right away. They explained why it didn't work - pay attention here folks - NEVER lay a fridge down - advised me to call the claims department at moving company and get the process started. In the meantime, Lipscombe had service guys here the very next morning by 10 am. They couldn't fix the fridge, it had to be replaced, so off I go to fight with the moving company. I'll have you know Lipscombe took the time to speak with the claims department of the moving company directly and explained the issue. In addition, after all of this, I ended up ordering a new fridge from a big box company, that was a no go as well. Guess what, when they finally came to deliver the guys laid that fridge down as well, so that fridge went back to the warehouse and I got a full refund. Finally - I did what I should have in the first place. went back to Lipscombe. They gave me a GREAT price on a new fridge that met my needs and had it delivered within 2 days! And......guess what, not one scratch or ding. I understand the expense of new appliances and the hassle - bottom line, if you want it done right and have a great group of professionals to work with, these are folks to call!!!! The service technicians nice, called for mother's washer machine she reference Maytag actual Admiral brand. This was a service call for a 30 day old new washer. "The biggest issue they told me it was a control panel worth $300.....um the washer costed $350. Getting the part would take 2 weeks! An left machine unplugged and left that they would call with part." $300 AND TWO WEEKS?!? Thinking my mother had herself a senior moment Google the machine, tinkered got started left returned mother complained not working. Second time tinker self started but stayed - It was mother the machine has a locking lid switch she muscled it push-buttons and chaos. Re-educated mother on use. Bought both a "lid switch"$22 & "direct drive motor coupling" $11 - all $33 parts replaced each part averages 15 minutes per directions and yes You Tube Video on this exact Model. It took me entire 2 days instead of 30 minutes. I'm recently disabled only have use my right arm as the left injured: the whole reason called a service contract and not my washer machine. The washer machine is mother's a senior on Social Security. Sister bought cause her previous washer broken a 2 years she was hand washing laundry in the bathtub. We just got her toilet fixed not working 3 months flushing the toilet by bucket the elderly are scared repair costs. The issue dislike my elderly mother knowing her would try hand washing her clothes for lord knows how long and never inform me actually because of the $300 PART REPLACE LIE! My issue if this is there way dealing with the elderly or new features a consumer is confused understand don't lie!! This burns me, elderly woman and worthless call I don't care the annoyance fact treating people like they don't deserve the truth and suffer a lie as my mother would if not there. I like to support locally owned businesses. Within the past year, I've bought a stove and a dishwasher from Lipscombe Appliance. This is definitely my "go to" store when I need an appliance. The sales people are knowledgeable about their products and have helped me to find something that would meet my needs. I understood why they suggested that I buy the top of the line dishwasher, but I just couldn't afford it, so they helped me to find a middle of the line dishwasher that I could afford and explained how it was better than other dishwashers. I have to say that I am much happier with this dishwasher than I was with the previous one that I owned. When I went back to get a stove/oven about a year later, they looked through a catalogue to find me the best promotional price for the features that I wanted. I asked them how much they would charge to deliver my new oven to me. - $150 and this included installation and taking away my old stove/oven! When I asked another retailer how much they would charge for delivery, I was quoted $300. They also use their own people to make deliveries and installations. I feel like these are honest and good people. I hope that I don't need to buy another major appliance anytime soon, but if I need to, I know where I will make my purchase. read more

I have a whirlpool refrigerator only 14 months old and all the food in the refrigerator side was freezing, then the water dispenser stopped working and then the ice maker stopped working. I called Lipscombe Appl. to come out on a service call for $80.00. The technician pulled the ref out from the wall looked at the back and then pushed the ref back into place. He wrote on the invoice that I needed a new control panel because the ref was experiencing central issues and that it would cost me $500. A new ref cost $900 hello I'm not stupid. He told me I could come to their showroom and look at new ref well that just added salt to the wound. I mulled over the situation for a month and finally got a 2nd opinion. The technician from platinum appliance came out looked inside the ref and said it's the diffuser it's broken allowing all the cold air to run non stop into the fridge freezing the food and the water reservoir etc. the new diffuser part was $70.00 needless to say I called Lipscombe and they refused to refund the $80 for their wrong diagnosis which I think is really bad business. My opinion. Talking about taking advantage of women. Some businesses pray on people hoping they are stupid. Well this economy is to tough and I don't have time for stupid. I'm disputing the charges. Excellent service department. Quick and reasonable. Told me my washer wasn't worth repairing because of the cost of the parts. Told me if I came by bought my new one from them they would refund the repair visit. Worked out great. The new washer was not much more than the repair estimates I got. Ended up buying appliances from them when I remodeled the kitchen. Cheaper than Big stores and very accommodating. Would not hesitate to call them. read more
