The entrance of the restaurant was fairly small and a lot of people were crowded in so it was hard to make our reservations. When we got our table everything came rather quickly and the food was good quality but the one issue I had was a small hair in our ranch, but it happens from time to time to it's forgivable. read more

The food was amazing! I'll start off by saying that. I have now found a new wing spot, the bone-in wings were sooooo good. Like seriously try them. Also the deals for the drinks were so nice and you really got your money's worth. The ambiance was nice and homey, for me. Also it felt like me and my family were there alone even when it was crowded, which was nice. The decor was soothing. Terrible experience. The appetizer itself we got nachos with the beef. It was dry. And the guacamole was really dark it tasted old. The boneless wings barely had any sauce on them and had a lot of fat. The 4 cheese Mac and cheese didn't even taste right I had to end up sending it back. 5/5 Last time I came here I gave 4/5 Bc of prices but this all you can eat chicken & ribs is amazing plus fries. Waiter's name was Shanon & she was extremely nice, went out of her way to apologize on her own behalf for our drinks being few minutes late, when really it was the bar tender. We visited on a Saturday afternoon (4/13/19) around 3 pm and were seated immediately. My boyfriend and I ordered the "pick 2 for $20" option. We both got salads and the Three Cheese Chicken Penne. The food was brought out in a timely manner. The penne had no flavor and barely any sauce on it and the breadstick they gave us was almost burnt. Gross. Our waitress was fairly attentive; however, I watched another waitress put food down on another table behind us and they must've commented (I didn't hear exactly what was said) but the waitress reacted in a very rude manner and grabbed the food off of the table and said, "I'll be back..." What I observed was extremely unprofessional. The people commented on the server's attitude and got up and walked out. I don't blame them. Amanda was a great server - very knowledgeable about the menu and willing to check it ask questions -- great if you have any food issues. Not sure about the rest of the staff - bathroom cleaning was only for the unoccupied stall not both, went back 30mjnutes later and the stuff on the floor of the stall I had been in was still there. This is one of my first experiences at an Applebee's and honestly it wasn't a good one. I had food delivered to my home only to see it's been shaken and disorganized. I had an item missing from my order and the packaging of the products was very unsanitary. The containers with macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes were placed inside the container with the steak causing the sauce meant for the steak to stick to the cups. Once again we stopped in for Veterans Day. Love the hospitality and kindness of the wait staff. Our meals were cooked well and the appetizer chicken tacos were delicious. The theme of the location with all the photos from Scranton and the flags from different services is heartwarming. What impressed me most was the missing man table which they maintain. Went in for lunch with my boyfriend. I had the grilled chicken Tuscany salad and he had the classic burger with fries. His burger was extremely greasy and there were hardly any fries. My "grilled" chicken salad was mostly made of wilted lettuce a couple of red onion and some very fine cut up tomatoes. There were sparse amounts of chicken that did not look grilled it looked poached. I had a cup of soup also. He had 2 beers one was a draft beer and I just had a soda. Well the bill came and it was $45! Not including tip of course! The server served me pre chopped bagged salad mix that was black and slimy. the grilled chicken on top of the salad tasted like it was cooked several days prior to my visit. A very simple salad. It is an Applebee's, if you want a quick meal at a decent price, then it is a good spot. When I come here, I order stuff like chicken tenders, wings, mozz sticks, fries, etc. Order things, that cannot be easily screwed up and you'll enjoy yourself. Also, there discounted menu after 9pm really cannot be beat. One great thing about this location, is they have these tablets at your table. Over-priced, over-salted, over-cooked, frozen and microwaved, typical chain garbage. Why people continue to go to any of these places is beyond me, and why people come to these places expecting anything but a terrible, over-priced meal is totally beyond me. The only good things I can say is that this location is kid-friendly, spaced out well so that you can bring your kids and feel comfortable if they act up a little. The servers have always been friendly for the most part. To the guy who had a problem with his wife's ID at the bar, the manager must be a total imbecile and I don't know how he can even function in life. I'm a former attorney, and when somebody says "PA is a commonwealth state" to go on about the laws is a pet peeve of mine and irks me. It shows a total lack of knowledge. That's like saying PA is a state state. Comonwealth and State are distinctions in name only, and states who use the term commonwealth do so out of preference, usually rooted in tradition. It has N O T H I N G and I mean NOTHING to do with the laws, absolutely, positively nothing. I wish that commonwealth state thing regarding laws would die a painful death because it is so incorrect that it infuriates me. That said, acceptable forms of ID in PA are a valid Passport, government issued ID from any US State, and a US military ID. So, your wife should have been served. This is the same in just about every other state, and PA does this because its lawmakers deemed it appropriate, not because PA chooses to call itself a Commonwealth out of preference and tradition. I'm too old to be carded, but my wife is 25 and looks younger, now I want to bring her in there with her passport and go to the bar and ask for the idiot manager and tear into him when he pulls that, and what is acceptable to do would be call the Dickson City Police to come and resolve the dispute, which would not end in the manager's favor. I guess there are various reasons why this location is so poorly rated and now I add my own to the parade of the dissatisfied. My wife and I enjoy eating at applebees in New York and expected much the same in Scranton. We decided to sit at the bar and order drinks before food. The bartender asked for our ID's and we gave them to her. Mine is a NY drivers license and hers a Russian passport. The bartender disappeared for 5 minutes with them and then came back saying she couldn't serve my wife. I asked to speak to Scott Crook the general manager. He came out with a book and started spouting nonsense about how Pennsylvania was a Commonwealth state and therefore had specific rules about acceptable ID. He then produced a book (published by a private company) and said if it's not in the book then it's against the law to serve alcohol. That just seemed ridiculous that a state would make it illegal to serve alcohol to any foreigner. So I did a quick check on Pennsylvania website and of course there it was clearly stated that foreign passports were valid ID. I showed this to Scott and he immediately backtracked and made up some corporate policy excuse. I called applebees and they immediately stated that they have no such policy and they would immediately look into it. It's pretty obvious that the general manager Scott Crook is just ignorant and biased (not to mention a liar) and decided he didn't want to have us in the restaurant and willing to use whatever reason. We of course will not be returning and suggest you do the same. read more

Food was very good. I got the shrimp and sirloin with the Parmesan sauce. Steak was cooked perfect. Waitress (Courtney M) was great and kept coming to check on us. She seemed very nice and was very attentive. We had a technological issue with the little computer at the table. My boyfriend, for some reason, didn't want to put the tip on the gift card and thought he'd be able to put in a tip with a debit card after using the gift card. That was not the case with the little computer on the table, so he went to go to the ATM inside the mall, since he had already hit the "confirm" button on the computer. Unfortunately, the mall was actually closed, so he couldn't do that. We also didn't have any cash on us, either. We explained what happened to the waitress, and she actually told us it was fine and to have a nice day, despite that we bought $70 worth a food and were unable to leave a tip. If we come back again, and especially if we get the same waitress by chance, I'm going to try to give her a *very* good tip. read more
