It's an Applebee's. I ordered a cheeseburger queso . It was good and cooked correctly. The baked potato was dry and hard. Don't get the potato.Their server was pretty good and attentive. Everyone enjoyed the burger especially the whiskey flavored sauce. I don't eat here often but it was convenient and since all the other restaurants were crowded and this was not.....hmm maybe I should have thought about that reason. read more

Decided to bring the family here for lunch since we were nearby and wanted to change things up a bit. I ordered a caprese burger and sweet mashed potatoes. Hubby ordered the ribs & chicken, fries and green beans. The burger was cooked properly and the flavor was good and dofferent. The sweet mashed potatoes was smmoth and tasty but had too much butter... ask for that on the side. Hubby said that the ribs were okay but Chilis was better. I hate this place. My family thought it would be a good idea to spontaneously stop in for lunch. What a horrible idea. Silverware was dirty, table smelled like a dirty dish rag, waitress was clueless. When I asked about their selection of dressings she had to ask the manager. When we arrived at the establishment. I asked the waitress for and menu after she asked did we want anything to drink. She pointed to the table at a bar code for the menu. Once we order they brought out my girl steak that was not the way she ordered it. So they took it back and brought out a smaller steak that was still not the way she asked. Sooo I went to Applebee's with my family and we ordered appetizers,beverages, dinner and dessert. When it was time to pay, I pulled out my Amex but was a little baffled bc she only brought me a crumbled reciept (no binder)-I gave her the card anyway. When she returned she said "oh my god, it worked, the card worked!"‍Then she walked away as she laughed. She was the only one laughing though. The food was excellent it is so excellent that's you can get full quick. The severs are very nice and the waiter/ waitress. Went on a Sunday night. Not crowded, service was excellent and the food was good, but IT WAS FREEZING! On a rainy, chilly night, the AC was sooooooo cold that I had to eat with my jacket on, and so did the couple a few tables over. My food got cold faster than it would have if I wasn't eating in an igloo!! We complained to the waitress who went to the manager, and the temp went up a little, but it wasn't long before we were shivering again. There may have been 10 people in the whole place and only 2 others in our section who were obviously also uncomfortable, so why not raise the temp and keep it there? It was very disorganized. The people at the front taking reservations didn't seem to know what they were doing. There were LOTS of empty places to sit but lots of people waiting to be seated. My 3 stars go to our waiter Desmond. Even though our food took forever, he was pleasant, friendly and checked on us several times. The food was good (a little cold) but tolerable. I haven't been to an Applebees in over 10 years and I was reminded last night why. Went to this location and first flag was food and various items on the floor not clean. This is a newer location too. They weren't overly busy for a dinner crowd. When we sat down we were told immediately we are out of Pepsi. I was ok with that since I didn't want it anyways. A table next to ours had been waiting to leave for some time when the waitress came over and said sorry we are out of to go boxes. Ok so now out of two big things which made me wonder what else they are out of. someone obviously isn't doing their jobs well. My husband and I ate lunch there, mainly because we had a gift card. It was fairly empty but we were seated at the smallest, least comfortable table there (I will admit it did become busier while we were there). I ordered a sampler, everything came out on large separate plates so it was very cramped. My husband had an undercooked boneless wing. We brought it to an employee's attention, to which she replied "ok". My spinach dip came with a large plate of chips that were so greasy they were literally glistening. I couldn't bring myself to even try them. I realize it's a new place and there will be some hiccups but we were quite underwhelmed with our experience. read more

I visited this new location a few days after opening around noon. My husband and I ordered average bar foods. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries and he ordered boneless buffalo wings. We sat at the bar, which was extremely loud...even for a bar. The tenders were hot and bland, but took a while to be served and the fries were luke warm. His wings were super saucy and he said that they were okay. The bartenders were Harlem and 2 other young ladies. I'm not certain if she prepared our drinks, but they were terrible. The rum punch had a very strong banana taste and the pomegranate martini had a weird unpalatable flavor. The service was good, all the bartenders were attentive and the bar was clean. Parking is a bit scarce because of the other retailers. We will not be returning. Much ado about nothing! read more

Horrible customer service! Was seated very quickly, but the waitress was slow. She was very confused and forgetful. It appeared she may have been high on a controlled substance. She give us our menus, and came back about 30 minutes later. We ordered and about 25 minutes later our food started to arrive. Our entrees arrive first. Then 10 to 15 minutes came the appetizers. 8 minutes after that our drinks. 4 minutes after that, our utensils. Ordered salad with balsamic vinegar, but received ranch. So my mom and I have been seeing the recent Applebee's commercials and she decided she wanted to go there for her birthday dinner. So both my parents and myself went in on 10/21/18 around 7:30. First off, the hostess kept disappearing and I basically had to tell her that we wanted to be seated. Then we were seated at the first table she saw which was not a good thing at all as there was other seating around the whole restaurant - I'm assuming she didn't wanna walk far. Then our waitress - she was okay but was slightly...ditzy. So my mom order a ginger ale after she had to reclean the silver ware. Heaven only knows what she brought her back but that was NOT it. Then I noticed she wasn't doing too well with her other tables as well. We also informed "Dee" that it was my moms birthday & all she said was okay, meanwhile, the table to the exact right of us received a full song & everything. The food also didn't leave up to the pictures, description, or really the taste. And to make matter work, I'm currently home with diarrhea from whatever I ate. Horrible Service ! This is a new location so as expected the restuarant is clean , the outdoor seating is cool but the service ruins it all . First off we get seated at a table that is so wobbly that our drinks spilled , we placed our orders , one of them was the 12 ounce steak . The waitress informed us that they may not have the 12 ounce but she will let us know . So we placed our order then after 20 mins we had to search for her to confirm if the steak was available or not . After about an hour and the fire alarm going off twice our appetizers arrive . The food was great but we had no condiments and no napkins , after requesting these things and refills from 3 waitresses and the manager they finally arrive . Only giving one star because you have to give something. I'm not impressed...at all. Most Applebees I have patronized have their stuff together mostly. I expected this one to be a bit nicer since it is new and when we went it was fairly empty. My husband wanted to grab a quick bite with our kids for his birthday before we went out later so we picked this location. We arrived to a mostly empty parking lot and inside was just as empty so we were feeling lucky thinking we should get quick service. Not. the. case. We waited for over an hour for appetizers and they came out the same time as the kids food. My husband and I waited another 20 minutes before we got our food and by then we had decided we would send our meals back. The kids were near finished their food by then and we were not sure why with a near empty restaurant, was the service so extremely slow. We asked for a manager to ask precisely that. If you are looking for a great Date night restaurant to go to Applebees Bar and Grill is the place to go. My Fiance and I have a tradition to go here at least one a month. The food is always delicious and fresh. The service is always friendly. They have monthly drink specials and dinner specials. This place continually has impressed us over the years. Environment: As you walk into Applebees you are greeted by a host. We have never had to wait longer than 10 min to be seated and that was at times where it was a dinner rush. There is a large bar area but if you prefer not to sit in there there are also comfortable seating placed outside the bar. We usually sit in the bar and start out by ordering a drink. The place is low lit and has the feel of being fancy but you still feel comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt. The place is clean and up kept. As well as the bathrooms are spotless. There is even music playing popular songs to set the atomposhere of laid back but elegant. Customer service: We have never had a issue with a waitress. They are always polite and knowledgeable of what is on the menu and specials. Even Though we have tried a lot of things on the menu they are always spicing things up and the waitress knows just where to look. When i'm not sure what drink I want to have I can just describe what kind of flavor im looking for and they are quick to whip something up delicious and tasty that hits the spot. We have our own favorite waiter In Albany Sarah. She is personable and remembers what our usual is. There was also a time when someone knew was being trained. The new waiter and the experienced one handled the process smoothly. We were glad to help them in the process of being trained. Price: The price on the menu has a wide range. If your looking to get a nice cut steak it's usually around 20$ but there are many affordable deals. Such as the endless chicken tenders and riblets for only 12.99$. In the past they had a 2 for 25$ deal. You would pick one appetizer and then pick two entrees. The drinks are reasonable. In the month of october they had 1$ margaritas. Those were dangerously delicious. Most drinks range from 5-9$. They also offer happy hour for half price drinks and appetizers. That's the time to go. Variety: Applebee's offers many different varieties of food diet wise. You could divulge in carbs on carbs on carbs such as the creamy mac a cheese or you could get a chicken salad. Both just as appetizing in my own opinion. On the menu next to the meals the have a calorie count. It has came in useful over the years when I have tried out new diets. If you are a vegetarian they also have meals that would tickle your fancy. If your more of a carnivore they have plenty of choices. Such as steak, salmon, pork chops , ribs and of course chicken. Taste/Plating: No matter what I get on the menu my mouth waters as it comes to the table. My all time favorite is the Parmesan shrimp and steak with Garlic mash potatoes and steamed broccoli. The cheese is melted over the steak and shrimp and is oozing in each bite. As you cut into the steak it's a beautiful medium rare (cooked to your liking). The potatoes are light and fluffy and full of that garlic flavor you crave. The plating is simple. Served on a Large red plate. I don't mind the simple plating for me it's about more food and the quality of the food. I have ordered other dishes that are served more creatively such as the chicken tacos being served on a stand. But generally its on a plate and organized and clean. Applebee's in Albany is located just next to the mall. Perfect ending to a shopping day or a planed night out with someone special. It's even a place you can have a family dinner/lunch and feel comfortable taking your kids. I hope you got as hungry as I did reading this. Went on a Sunday afternoon after enjoying a movie and unfortunately the Ravens were playing and this family type restaurant had been transformed into a sports bar with screaming, intoxicated patrons who could be heard throughout the entire restaurant using the F word and the wait staff were laughing. Suggested to our waitress that management needed to call police and have these patrons removed since not only did my friend and I find the foul language offensive but there were also small children in the restaurant. Won't be coming back on a Sunday during football season. read more

The waitress was very trashy and was crying over her last half of cigarette that was ruined when the rain picked up. Went for a light snack and drinks with my niece on 06/16/2018, the customer service was excellent however the food and drinks were sub par. We ordered chips and salsa,majority of the chips were all clump together. Additionally the sangria tasted like a combo of Hawaiian punch with apple juice with no alcohol. I just used the to go service, I drove to pick up my food and left with out checking the bags and there was so much wrong with my order. My kids were missing half of both of their meals and drinks. I ordered my burger fully cooked and it was half cooked and very pink in the middle. Giving this place four stars based mainly on the great service we received from our server and the manager. My food was not cooked to order, ordered rare and got well done burger. Asked for lettuce tomato mayo and did not receive any. Once the server was aware she notified the manager. They both were very apologic and made everything right. All in all the place is gorgeous you'd never think you were in an Applebee's more like a swank sportsbar. The outstanding service made up for the cooking blunder. We will be back for sure. read more
