The aftermath
Karley B.

Been craving that chopped Cobb salad with Vidalia onion vinaigrette for about 9 months, since I had my first one in Rehoboth Beach. This one did not measure up. The guacamole had WAY too much lime in it which overpowered the entire salad. What's that saying made famous by Report of the Week about his disappointment being immeasurable? It was like that. My boyfriend had a similar experience with his brisket burger, which had a flavor to it that suggests he might be sick later on tonight. Time will tell. He did enjoy the chicken nachos, though. So at least that. My mother had the fried pickles, but since everything came out all at the same time, she only ate one or two. The breading is so thick that I'm sure I'm going to wonder why the roof of my mouth is all scratched up. The dipping sauce was forgettable. She also had some kind of barbecue "bird dawg". The name is confusing, and not at all cute. I don't know if I'll bother with any other BWW locations. The atmosphere really isn't for me. I don't like sports and I certainly don't want to watch reruns of super old hockey games. I realize it's a sports bar but one television without sports would be nice. Other than this ridiculous trivia, which my mom couldn't hold a decent conversation cuz she kept reading the questions out loud. I don't care, woman. I'm here to talk to you, not choose the biggest tennis star from Istanbul or whatever. Service was hideously slow. Do not recommend.

Wings--plain, honey BBQ and spicy garlic sauces with celery and blue cheese

Hey, this is a sports bar, not fine dining. Seven of us with three kids were seated promptly. Our server presented menus and brought drinks. She gave us extra napkins and the plastic ware. Metal forks would have been nice. We didn't wait long for the food. Queso cheese with tortilla chips would go good with a beer. It was too much for the kids. We ordered 20 wings with different sauces. We didn't care for the spice garlic sauce...it was hot, but not very garlicky. Honey BBQ was good. The Cobb salad was good, but not stripped like a true Cobb. The shredded chicken, hard boiled eggs with spices on them, and real bacon bits were nice. The blue cheese dressing was good. One couple shared the American double cheeseburger, and ate the other foods. Overall the food was fine. Our server brought wet wipes, which we needed.

All of the dirty tables

We arrived and were told to sit in the bar area. EVERY SINGLE TABLE that were available were filthy. Empty glasses, empty food trays. It was just disgusting. They had empty clean tables in another section but wouldnt let us move tables. We will NEVER be going back to this location. We ended up going to a different BWW that was much cleaner!

food order

Me and my homegirls wanted B dubs to celebrate for the holidays. We were sitting for 30 minutes for our server Jay to come and take our orders or at least get started with drinks or apps. When we placed our orders, the food came out cold and took 45-minutes; all of our breaded wings were SOGGY; the mango habanero wings didn't have much sauce on them; The shots of Tequila were warm for some reason; and just overall the food was unprofessional and quite frankly disgusting. We walked around the store asking all servers to find us a manager and no one did, the managers were no where to be found and we waited for an additional 20 minutes until our server finally came back with our checks. I am completely disappointed in our service, the food, and just the building as a whole.

Bartender/waitress was so rude, acted like it was a bother to serve me. I had to ask for water like I was walking on egg shells.

They have one pool table where APA league members usually play, a shuffle board, and a number of TVs for sports games (although they are not HD). I could tell this was a local go-to for many of the customers at this bar especially since they all seemed to know each other. Our bartender was very friendly with helping us decide what to order. We got the Belly Buster Fried Fish sub ($8.99), with a side of fries (an extra $2) and Italian Cold Cut ($9.50), with a side of chips (free), along with a Loose Cannon ($5.00) & Grapefruit Crush ($6.00). The subs were pretty good. The fried cod (I believe it was) was nice and crispy and the tartar sauce paired perfectly to cut the richness of the grease. The portion was definitely money's worth. The cold cuts in my sub were fresh. There was enough acid to not make the bread soggy. The grapefruit crush was very icy. I noticed the bartender made it by blending a grapefruit fruit cup with ice and some grapefruit-vodka. When I was done with my first drink, she poured the rest of the mixture from the blender into my glass, which I thought was very nice. All in all, dugout tavern is a hidden gem that has great food and service. There is also parking on site and outdoor seating.

The Chicken Parmesan sandwich I had last night was on point and my girlfriend had a very good chicken quesadilla as well. Prices are pretty reasonable. My only beef is with the service. The bar is a little "cliquey" from several observations. The regulars seem to get waited on immediately and a newcomer gets a "I'll be right with you". No placemats, no silverware, no napkins seems to be the norm. Had to ask for ketchup when my fries came out after getting chips by mistake. We will most likely go back though, especially since The Bird River Inn changed their whole menu and did away with most of our favorite menu items. Everything is smoked now and very salty. If you're looking for ambience, you may want to try somewhere else. The Dugout is a hole in the wall dive bar and has been for decades...just the way the regulars like it!

The drinks were strong and the service was good, especially considering how busy it was. I got a buffalo chicken wrap and my date got a cheesesteak. The fries were sooooo good. Like boardwalk fries. We sat at the end of the bar and had to wait a few minutes to order. They don't have a beer menu, so you will have to eyeball the drafts as you come into the bar. The music was loud old-skool hip hop, which I love. There was also some great R&B. They have two pool tables constantly occupied by players who had brought their own queues. It was fun to watch. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, the husband ordered wings and french fries. The chicken quesadilla was delicious, served with salsa and sour cream. The wings were a little dry but the fries were great. I was going to give Freddie's 4 stars until I woke up the next morning and saw the 18% gratuity charged to my bill. I had not seen it and had tipped 20% so my server got a large unintended tip. I will not be coming back to Freddie's but at least now I know how they roll.

"Waste o' time, Bobby, you won't find the critter there," Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), the oldest of the teenagers that make up the New Mutants, responded, "It'll be here." "What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.

This location is in the heart of the city so even if you care to walk around the city at the end of beginning of your trip to S&S, you're in a good mobile area! There are SOME parking lots in the surrounding areas but verrrry minimal, so I would advise Uber'ing in or carpooling with friends. My party of 3 were lucky to have gotten a spot right outside of the entrance. Sidebar, because the Super Bowl and other sports are in rotation now, I would 100000% advise parties over 2 to make a reservation, as its the most helpful to guarantee a spot. See Open Table for reservations - that was where our plans were arranged. See attached pictures for the food we ate and enjoyed - the wings (mine were mumbo and buffalo), fries, and crab dip.

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

First, the food quality has declined compared to my previous visits over the years. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, and what I received was not consistent with how the dish has been prepared before. When I politely asked the server (Katie) to take the plate back because it was not as expected, she became upset and responded in an unprofessional manner. She questioned what was wrong and stated that the dish would come out of her check. I calmly explained that I have been coming here for many years and that the preparation was different from before. Her response was inappropriate--she mentioned that "Mr. Papas died in November," which I found disrespectful and unnecessary. Regardless of any internal changes, this is not something that should be communicated to a customer in that manner. I then asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation. Unfortunately, the server continued to behave rudely while I was addressing the issue. This experience did not reflect professionalism, respect for customers, or the standards I had come to expect from your establishment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both service and customer experience moving forward.
