My friend and I visited Applebee's on South Cedar in Lansing today. We went there for the all you can eat Ribs,Shrimp and Chicken. The ribs were good now the chicken fingers and shrimp not so good. Applebee's on Cedar St. today I ordered the grilled chicken dinner. The chicken was so dry I couldn't swallow it without flushing it down with coffee. The garlic potatoes and broccoli were delicious. I actually give 3.5 stars... This Applebee's was above average due to its good servers and upbeat atmosphere. We came here for my mothers birthday supper in May '13. Our group had steaks, burger, Caesar Salad and of that those who had steak were actually pretty impressed with how good they were especially for the affordable prices. My burger was rather average as was the Caesar salad. Our appetizers were deep fried green beans, pretzel sticks and also artichoke dip... All were very good. One unique thing at Applebee's is their exotic drink selection... Fun choices priced fair and on a hot Spring evening they were fun to drink. I actually think we would enjoy going back! read more

Ordered the bourbon street chicken and shrimp and was extremely disappointed by how blah it was. I would not order it again. However, super friendly service!! They did add mini sub charges to the bill, and I had to ask twice to get it fixed. Once they realized it still wasn't fixed on the second time they compensated the meal, which was great! read more

For example, they regularly have rotating drink specials for several weeks at a time ("Dollarita" etc). Happy hour is 3-6pm with half off select apps. Same thing late night (usually after nine). The host max was far from helpful actually walked past us while we were waiting to be seated. Then let us stand there for a good 5 min while doing absolutely nothing but what looked like coloring a paper then he turned around to the ask us if we had been helped as if he didn't see us come in in the first place! I am very disappointed in the quality of the food. It wasn't worth the 67.99 charged. Plus they wouldn't honor a $55 gift certificate from the Southside of Lansing location. That was given to me due to a bad order from the South side due to low staffing. Plus, finding out that thir food is cooked bland from frozen, not fresh nor homemade. They've stepped their game up! Applebees now has more health conscious and low calorie options. They had a wide variety of small plates and other additions. The entrées are not just photos, the meals look and taste exactly how you'd imagine them. The lunch combos and other combo options are great for those who want variety, low calorie or variation in nutrient content. I've been at least 3 times in the last 2 months and Applebees is my new go to place, again. Their shrimp are big, and tasty not salty or chewy. The only reason I went here is because someone gave me a gift card. I'm not a fan of Applebee's at all. I rather eat mcdonalds and today's meal, I wish I just went to mcdonalds. I pick the trio platter. I picked the brew pub pretzels, the buffalo wings, and the steak quesadillas. The buffalo wings were beyond bland. there was absolutely no sauce. the only reason knew that they were buffalo wings is because that's what I ordered. I tried the steak quesadillas. Yuck!! It's not steak. It tasted like some type of cheap meat. it was chunks of beef that had no grilled flavor. I love pretzels! if it had zero I would put that! I used to work at this location years ago. it's so sad to see how downhill it has gone. We were greeted with a mean face and our waiter clearly had more important things to be doing because he had zero urgency to do.... anything. he didn't even write our order down and forgot my meal. No thank you! I went with my grandma and cousins for lunch on a weekend. First please seat anyone over 80 at an actual table and not a booth... Do you know how hard it is for the elderly to get around? Having to slide into a booth doesn't go so well. The service was just okay... Ok, so i am furious. I call 25-30 minutes ago to make sure my steak I ordered for delivery had A1 sauce. I gave my last name and the girl said no problem. Fast forward to getting my delivery. No A1 sauce and no dressing on my salad...turns out my order came from a different applebees. Ok my fault for dialing the wrong location...but her waitress took my last name and said no problem. So we she just humoring me since no such order existed?!?! I live in lansing and eat out quite a bit, and I LOVE coming to this Applebees! I always seem to go when its really busy and still the customer service is excellent. The thing I think I actually like best is the fact that there are gentleman standing at the door holding it open for you when you arrive, and when you leave! FANTASTIC! This update is for carside service only. Pros - online ordering is easy. Valante provided friendly service. Cons - Pick-up was scheduled for 5:13. I arrived at 5:14. Received the meal at 5:21. The online ordering did not allow me to select cocktail sauce as a side for fried shrimp. The only sauce option was tartar sauce. However, Valante gladly went back inside to get me a cup of cocktail sauce. The french fries and shrimp portions were generous. The coleslaw was missing. Finally, the drink was 2 inches short. I attribute this to foam. The online ordering system needs to be revamped so alternatives can be chosen. There was no place to type in notes, like "replace tartar sauce with cocktail sauce." And I was unable to request it be ready at a specific time. Could only select "ASAP-15 minutes from now." read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and although we don't frequent chain restaurants we were glad we did! We were greeted with friendliness, smiles and efficiency. The restaurant was totally compliant. There is always a huge choice at Applebee's but this one was different because of the people. The food was delicious (apps, salad, main entree) and everything was delivered to our table in a timely manner. East Lansing, Michigan 169 Pending review Dinner with Gift Card My wife and I stopped for dinner at Applebee's on West Saginaw, Lansing on our way back home. My wife ordered a chicken with Shrimp entree and I ordered a similar meal. My wife's chicken came out about 70% cooked so we sent it back, mine was fine. We wanted to use a $25.00 gift card to pay part of our meal. The Applebee's system was down. Our waiter told us they were having problems all day getting gift cards authorized. Waiter tried it again and same problem. I ended up paying for the whole bill. The Manager never came to our table to help with this problem. Waiter said we can use the gift card next time. Really, how about you keeping the gift card and run it later. Make it convienent for your customers. When we got home, I called the gift card 800# to verify amount and yep, it is worth $25.00. Same thing their manager could have done and applied it to our bill a a later time. So I have spect $65.00 for a $40.00 meal. I could give a 3+ for the meal, 4 star for service and 1 star for problem we had with gift card. read more

I've been coming to apples for years this is currently my favorite location. Great service and very friendly. My server took the time to check on me and made sure my party was taken care of. On top of that the food was great. Everything came out super quick. But the food was still nice and hot. We loved the half off apps. The boneless wings are my favorite! Let's not forget the $5 mucho drinks they have on special, plus you get a nice buzz. I'd definitely recommend this location on the Westside of Lansing! Always satisfied.
