We stopped in on a Friday for a quick lunch. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I had a spicy marg and my fiancé had a beer. Both were fine. We ordered the cheese curds, sliders, and a fry to share. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our entrees but oh well. One slider was definitely enough - they are big sliders. We had a large fry but definitely could have gone with the small. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice environment and would come back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Truffle fries were great - not too strong with the truffle flavor but enough to know that it's there (for anyone sensitive to the flavor). Love the aoli that came with it. Sliders were a good size. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and classic burger restaurant and fulfilled my burger cravings![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Parking is not ideal. There are a few spots on the street but after that it's a a good walk from behind the building. We got drinks quickly and ordered a chips and salsa appetizer. Not enough chips and Coors light was very flat. Everything was great besides that. The we waited over 45 minutes. They seemed understaffed. 9 tables and one server. A lot of tables looking around with no food. This is 1:00pm on a Saturday. Food came to our table cold. Waitress seems overwhelmed. The food tastes great even tho it is cold. I don't think I'll be back tho. Waitress will still be tipped well. Not her fault she doesn't have support. I suspect kitchen staff is low too.

Regular slider and a breakfast slider, which has a beef patty too.

This place is amazing! All of the food is fresh and excellent. Even the chicken strips were hand breaded and amazing. Sliders are terrific. I totally recommend the loaded tots. They were awesome. Service was excellent. And everything was very clean. Loved the cool pics of people riding in motorcycle side cars. Cool theme! I'd definitely eat here again!

I really really really wanted this place to be awesome. The concept sounded great and I hadn't really been to anything like it before (that involved burgers). The pics that I'd seen from other reviews, made it look cool inside. I literally skipped across the street to the front door because I was so excited. Both the outside and inside decor is very catchy with a kind of industrial vibe. Unfortunately that's where my excitement ended. Our waitstaff was not helpful at all, and didn't seem interested in being there. The wait time seemed to be forever. Every step of the process. We waited for menus, waited for drinks, waited to put in our order, waited for the food. With only a few people sitting at the bar, we were the only actual table in the whole restaurant. So it wasn't because they were busy, otherwise I could understand. We picked a variety of burgers because we wanted to try everything. I can't remember them exactly now for this review, but they really aren't worth mentioning anyway. There was nothing about any of them worth mentioning. They really could have hit a home run with some well seasoned custom meat/burger combo, but instead, everything was bland and lifeless. If those burger patties aren't frozen slabs of whatever beef, I have some swamp land in Florida to sell you. We sided our orders with waffle fries and tots because we wanted to try both. Even those weren't any better than what I could have made at home in my air fryer. I didn't go into the bathroom so I can't make comments about that. But the rest of the place was pretty spotless. Maybe they have more time to clean, because they aren't spending it on service or improving the food. Now maybe you're thinking I'm being a little harsh in my review. And maybe you're right. My review is a little late, and maybe things have improved since then. I will go back because I want this place to be awesome. I will try it again. I just hope I don't waste another trip there.

Nate and I were leaving an outdoor event at The Nuthouse across the street and wanted to grab some food before heading back to our hotel - Sidecar Slider Bar had available seating and they were open til 2 am. The outdoor patio looked cozy - the evening was the perfect temperature so they had garage doors open onto the patio, which was really nice. The menu consists of sliders, hot dogs, salads, and some appetizers, which was perfect for us as we didn't want a huge meal. The sliders range from $3.25 for a plain or cheeseburger slider to $7.25 for an ahi tuna slider. I ordered the B-ham slider, with bacon, bleu cheese, tomato, and arugula, and the mushroom swiss slider, with balsamic, fried goat cheese, tomato, and arugula. Nate got a Carolina dog with pulled pork and slaw and the PB&J slider. We also ordered a side of tots. Food came out quickly and it looked great! The sliders were a good size - two was enough for me, if I was really hungry I would probably order three. The beef patties were thicker than I was expecting which was a nice surprise, and the quality of the meat seemed pretty good. They were also cooked nicely - juicy and medium. The B-ham slider was my favorite with bleu cheese, but the fried goat cheese on the mushroom swiss was also amazing. The hot dog was super messy to eat and had a tiny kick of heat - the flavors were great on this. The tots were fresh and a good portion. Our server was polite even when we made a mess spilling a water on our table. I really loved this spot and the concept. The fun photos of different motorcycles with sidecars were cute! I'd definitely come back and hope this type of concept comes to Grand Rapids someday.

Update: I am sorry…read moreto update everyone that Travis left EnVie. The new bartender leaves so much to be desired. Pretentious bartender who really really wants to be known for being a mixologist. Don't you dare ask to modify any of his ingenious cocktail creations. I've been to many many bars in my lifetime. Nice bars, hole in the walls, distilleries, hotel bars, outdoor bars, cute little trailer-wedding bars, speakeasies. You get my point. My standards are high but i'm down wherever too. this is the first time anyone has refused to modify a drink for me. and i'm not talking about changing everything. i'm talking about swapping out mezcal for gin (there are barely any gin cocktails anymore). i've been here three or four times since the new bartender-- and i don't even sit at the bar anymore. the only redeeming quality of the place is the chef(s?) who I feel really takes care of people and makes the food with love and care and excellence. the burgers and steak are literal perfection. Le sigh. Travis if you're reading this-- Mike and I miss you!! Management, please try to get him back! Give him a fat raise! anything! your restaurant is going downhill quickly because 1) Travis is gone 2) Inflexible pretentious guy took his place.

The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! I look forward to returning to Envie to check out more of their menu and perhaps be able to have the same waitress.

About halfway through, everyone started getting hungry, so I asked my sister-in-law to pick a restaurant in Old Town that looked appealing. She chose Zoobie's because she thought she had seen it featured on a Food Network show, and the menu looked diverse enough that everyone in our group would find something they liked. Being from New Jersey, my sister-in-law firmly believes there is no good pizza outside of New Jersey or New York. Well, Zoobie's proved that great pizza can be found anywhere. I ordered the pear pizza without the meat, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors worked perfectly together, and I never felt like I was missing anything by skipping the meat. My sisters each ordered different pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them, while my nephew had a burger that disappeared quickly, which is always a good sign. My wife ordered the bruschetta and spoke so highly of it that I had to try some myself. She was right, it was delightful. Another pleasant surprise was the atmosphere. The restaurant was quite busy, with a full bar and a group celebrating some kind of event, yet the noise level remained very manageable. As someone who is sensitive to loud environments, that can make or break a dining experience, and Zoobie's got it right. For context, we visited on a weekday around 2:00 PM, so that certainly may have contributed to the comfortable atmosphere. Still, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. Great food, attentive service, a welcoming environment, and perhaps most impressively, pizza that won over a skeptic from New Jersey. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Old Town Lansing.
