I've lived in DeWitt for years and I always passed this place but recently I decided to check it out. First of all when you first walk in you have to seat yourself and then pretty quickly a server will come take your order. The prices are pretty midrange for a sit-down place and they have a lot of different food options, I was actually kinda surprised. The burger was on a pretzel bun (extra charge) with pepperjack cheese and "Texas toothpicks" (fried jalapeños and onions) and crispy fries on the side. The nachos were loaded with beef, jalapeños, and much more. We each took half of our meals home-- you get a lot for your money. Beer was a little pricier than similar places. I was a Dewitt resident for decades. This was the go to place. If you are passing through the Lansing area do not stop here. I travel qll over the US and would be pissed off if I stopped here based on a Yelp review. My wife and I were in town to finish up business and the first thought for dinner was the Draft House. We have not been here in 3 years because we are now retired and traveling. How come all the waitresses have been blond over the last 20 years. Including ownersship. After 3 years the menu has the same items and taste the same. Maybe people in Dewitt have no Palate. That is why they are still in business. read more

The bartenders are very good, but usually too busy to engage when taking care of all the waitstaff drinks. BTW, I've never seen a restaurant this size have only one terminal for waitresses to put in orders; and it sits on a lazy susan so the bartender has to spin it around to also use it. Come on, ownership, spring for another one or two to streamline things. While you're at it, add some bar stools that don't sway back and forth 2-3 inches when you're sitting in them. I love, love, love their olive burger. I'm not sure what works between the burger and the olive sauce, but it's the bomb diggity. I've tried their other burgers and they just don't stack up to the olive burger. My wife likes their wings, but not so much their nachos. They do have a pretty decent beer selection and lots of TVs. Draft House is on my list of regular places to go because it's convenient and good. I really want to like it more, but I think the owners need to step up their game a bit. read more

This level of a bar and grill north of Dewitt is very good, and much of it is due to the great service and food. I also liked the price and quality of drinks served up by the bartender. This is pretty much a very busy restaurant and bar where you enjoy all the beer you can select from, and the food you'll love to devour. Ordered the build-your-own burger, complete with "Texas toothpicks", bacon, cajun seasoning, jalapenos, and pepper jack. I do have to say the food was pretty good and I can't complain about either food or service. My only con, and the reason I dock a star from my rating, is the darkness and sketchiness per atmosphere. I like the indoor atmosphere due to the warm and rustic appeal. I would come back here again, but when coming to dinner at night, it's hard to see the building in the dark. read more

Delivery was a bit slow but they were busy with a few big parties. Decent variety of dishes, but really the basic bar food options with some Mexican dishes thrown in. Food wasn't exceptional though it was better than we anticipated. While there is a bar, this is a kid-friendly place as well. First off, I remember this place being so smoky back in the day that I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was to see the non-smoking sign on the door. Way to go, Draft House! Dark with lots of wood, it has an older feel. The best part of the food we ordered were the fried pickles. I could have made much better tacos then the ones I got. Two sandwiches in our group came without any type of mayo or sauce on them and one was a BLT--what? Service was slow for lunch on a Saturday. Definitely one of the best American style bar/grilles in the area. The draft house is a green restaurant, in that they only serve sustainable fish, though they don't necessarily flaunt it. They are the only mid-Michigan restaurant certified by the Green Restaurant Association though, which is admirable. But to be honest, it's not really the kind of hippy-dippy place you'd expect of a "green-certified restaurant." No, this really is the kind of place you go with friends to have a beer and meal, and enjoy yourself a bit. They have plenty of good beer on tap, including Stella Artois, which always brings me in. Their fish entres are tasty and well prepared, the honey-glazed Salmon especially impressed me with its sweet nutty taste and flaky texture, and at $10, seemed a steal. My wife liked her pan-fried Walleye - crispy but not greasy - and they even have Bluegill, which is a sort of Michigan soul food. We had to save room for the apple skillet pie, served warm with vanilla ice cream of course. It was good, but I'm not that big on overly sweet desserts. We'll be back. It was a short wait on a Friday night, but well worth checking out. read more

We just didn't know what to expect but what a pleasant trip it was! I assumed that the restaurant was a "drinking hole" type place where beer was number one and everything else was secondary. Not true, although I'm sure they had a great selection of beer :). My hubs ordered the nachos while I had the daily special- a pork chimichanga with onions, green chiles and a goat cheese queso. Sounded interesting but I was kind of nervous- Pulled roast pork and goat cheese queso?? OMG it was incredible! A full meal on its own but served with a seasoned aka spicy rice. And the queso was outstanding. I finished the chimi and skipped the rice. My hubby took his nachos home there was so much. Very reasonable prices. Our waitperson was knowledgeable, friendly and quick. The place was spotless, including the bathroom. A downside is that they are currently closed on Sunday/Monday and I hope that changes soon. We ate dinner here on Wednesday and I was so enchanted we tried going back on Sunday, but they were closed. When my quesadilla and her tacos came out quickly, we were a little skeptical. We were pleasantly surprised at the tastiness and quality of the food. While the rice and salsa were obviously not home cooked, they were delicious. My quesadilla was slightly crunchy with a lot of flavor. The tacos were both healthy and juicy. I've grown up eating the Draft House for a few years now. Over the years I have had the Guacamole Bacon Burger, Olive Burger, Texas nachos, tacos, and French dip. The guac Burger is great, they have wonderful guacamole. The burger it self could use some work. It is usually dry and crumbly even if you order it to be cooked rare. It's almost flavorless and it relies on the toppings to make the burger. The olive burger is the best one I've ever had. The nachos are simple but still good, especially if you are looking for some simple bbq. The tacos are whatever. If you get them, show up early on taco Tuesday and get the fish tacos. Lastly, I will most commonly get the French dip. Awesome au jus, good meat, and great bread. The fries are also delicious. read more

I was pretty impressed with this restaurant! They have a spicy black bean burger which I was really surprised they offered. This place isn't screaming, 'Vegetarian alternatives.' Their French Onion Soup is also very good. The waitress was lacking, as my party waited about 7 minutes to be greeted once we were seated, and another 10 waiting for our bill.
