I work in DeWitt. I have had quite a few good experiences here. Taco Tuesday is usually my day of choice. They have decent selection of Craft & Domestic beers. Their nachos are amazing, and burgers are really darn good. I have only ever had one bad experience, and it was my first time trying out the place. I love olive burgers and I was very disappointed with the one I was served here. This was my first visit to the Draft House and I had hoped for better food. It was a very thin patty that came with olive sauce in a small cup. It barely covered the burger. It also came with shredded lettuce and tomato which was strange to me. I felt like I was served a flat burger from Hot n Now with a side cup of olives. Fries were decent and the service was very quick. However, try to get there early if possible! It's extremely crowded and they don't have room for you to stand in the doorway without getting in the way of people trying to get to the restroom. I may try it again but definitely not for the burgers. read more

Second time having under-cooked fish. Perch and walleye should not be pink and rubbery. Weird thing is they brought us different perch and it was still under-cooked. We have had fish at umpteen restaurants. This is the only one to under-cook it. Weird. Love everything else about this place. Wont get fish again. read more

We have been coming here for three years now, at least once a month. Tonight we waited for over 15 minutes and were completely ignored and never even greeted. It was Taco Tuesday, but the restaurant was not even half-full. Three separate servers ambled by us and didn't even make eye contact. Not sure what is going on with this place, but we probably won't go back for awhile. I know sometimes that servers hate waiting on tables with toddlers, but we both worked in the industry for years and compensate for the mess with a really good tip. Someone missed out. Oh well. I was in the area to attend a funeral. The Draft House was convenient to my motel. I met my sister and brother-in-law on a Sunday evening and we decided to go to the Draft House. I'd been there before when I was in town for the same reason and remembered it as being an OK place with good selection of food. I had the ham and cheese on a pretzel roll and it was fine, a little greasy, with the garlic fries which were a little underwhelming. There was nothing that was bad but on the other hand there were no "wow" elements. A good solid bar with decent food. I would probably return if in the area. read more

Poor service - very slow and not friendly. Waited over 10 minutes before having to ask for menu - didn't even get a kids menu and had to ask for that too. Food was okay - mashed potatoes and children's pasta were both served cold. Steak was cooked properly and quesadillas were good. Would not recommend to anyone passing through town. read more

Good selection of beer, food is consistent and good. Try the feisty fetta hummus, certainly one of the things that make this a "better" mom and pop draft house/road house style restaurant. The atmosphere's what you'd expect from the name and service is normally pretty good. read more

If you want excellent food and some really good craft beers, this place is great. I had the portobello burger with fried portobello slices and horseradish sauce and sweet potato fries. Excellent! This has become one of our favorite places to eat when we visit from California. The ribs are fall off the bone tender and the steak solid. Our nephews who are picky eaters were able to find options they were pleased with on the menu. We love sampling local beer and wine when we travel and weren't disappointed with the selection. We'll be back again on our next trip to Michigan. read more

My husband and I frequently go to the Draft House and I've never had a bad meal. They have a great beer selection of seasonal and local Michigan beers as well as a great casual atmosphere. Taco Tuesdays are really busy but if you can get a table I recommend the fish tacos, so good! read more

We had a young server who was 19 and didn't explain to us (till the very end she was new.) I had to ask her 5 times for a water. If she would have explained I wouldn't have been so irritated. Management may want to mention this to new servers for the future. Food is so-so. read more

A Hometown Place! Great atmosphere, great food! Oh, and beer!

Stopped in the other day with my sister. Service was quick! I got the sizzler which came with a salad. I got blue cheese as the dressing and it was extremely thick. Delicious but thick (couldn't pour it on my salad). The steak I asked for medium doneness and it was well done ; I didn't send it back because it wasn't mooing and bleeding raw blood so I just ate it. Had nice seasoning. We finished with the apple pie skillet. It was delish until you get a bit of the crust on the skillet; all you can taste is onion and green peppers as they use the same skillet for their fajitas. That was majorly disappointing. The waitress offered to get a new one but being its on the same skillets we decided not to take chances and she took it off the bill. read more

Came here with Nate a few weeks ago and I ordered the stir fry which you know I don't generally order out but it was DA BOMB DIG. Beer was cold so not sure what else you'd expect lol a good place I'd go back and there always seem to people ppl here which tells ya something lol read more

Dewitt is, a northern suburb of Lansing; lots of chain stores and strip malls. For a more satisfying meal or drink if you're in town or just passing through, visit The Draft House, a smallish roadhouse/sports bar right on Old 27. Solid bar food; the menu isn't all that exciting, but the daily specials are appealing -- during our visit the day's specials included pan fried bluegill with hushpuppies, a pork/roasted corn chimichangas and Cajun broiled salmon. The pedestrian beer menu is likewise enlivened by seasonal craft beer specials from Michigan microbreweries like Short's and Arcadia. (Although the bar seemed to be stretching it a bit by including Killian's Red -- seriously? -- on its list.) We just stopped in for a beer and a nosh, but we give two thumbs up to the house-smoked chicken wings...much better than I expected. Our service was friendly but hurried -- we stopped in on a crazy-busy Friday evening. The bar's patrons run the demographic gamut, it on the evening we stopped in there were lots of families with children as well as TGIFing officeworkers and tradespeople, and retirees. It seemed like a fun, affordable hangout for townies, and we enjoyed ourselves too. read more

My wife & I have been going here for years now & have never been disappointed. Menu has changed somewhat over time with the comings & goings of the chef. Food has always been above average to excellent. Some entrées we particularly enjoy are the salmon, fish specials, fried chicken & of course the burgers. They always have a great array of beers, both draught & bottled. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Service is always friendly. Famous for amazing burgers, and that was the order every visit! Until about 6 months ago.... What were once juicy and flavorful burgers are now hockey pucks on a bun. Even when ordering med rare they come out black and dry. The fries are also much more seasoned than before and it is too overpowering. The wings taste like chewing on actual hickory logs - even with buffalo sauce they have an overpowering sweet-smoke flavor. Beers are good, and the salads are fresh. Too loud, too dark, still a powerful cigarette odor even though smoke free for a decade. Servers are hit or miss - some are very good and have a great attitude, others are surly and slow and make too many mistakes. The "regulars" tend to be rude to others and staff. Owners seem dedicated and responsive, though. The biggest negative is that no one answers the phone there when you try to call, just rings forever. Not great for business when customers can't call to check if busy or to place takeout order. Have to go in and place takeout orders or find out if you can get a table for more than 4 people. Update the menu, phone number and burger quality and the Draft House will be back on top again. read more
