I haven't tried anything other than the pizza yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I just got a recommendation on the steak & cheese sub. Usually I order a red pizza with old world pepperoni and garlic crust, and a white pizza with banana peppers and Italian sausage. I do ask for extra sauce on both, and balance it out by requesting they be cooked "well done." Haven't been disappointed with that formula yet.

That's Marco's for me, among a few other, but Marco's is literally the one that pops up all the time, but is not around me. If I am being honest, this was a bit of a special trip for me, especially since I knew I could be tasting some of that pizza soon. I followed GPS here and thought I was at the wrong place at first. Because when I did so, I pulled up to what was once a Family Video store. Marco's took up a portion of the store. I had used the app prior to coming here to order ahead of time, that would equate to less time waiting and I could finally have that pizza in my hands. I walked inside and it is a rather small place. Mostly looking like a carry out establishment. There were a few tables, so I assume some may want to order in and eat here. When I showed up, my order wasn't quite ready and I did have a little bit of a wait. There was one other customer in with me who appeared to be a walk in customer. Watching this happen Marco's is a little like Little Caesar's. You walk in, order and have a quick pizza delivered to your hands. My pizza was finally done and I happily exited the store to my car and opened that box to a bit of disappointment. See, when I ordered I went with the pepperoni pizza. On their commercials it appears that the pepperoni form those little cups that capture the pepperoni grease. I know it's not good for you, but I just wanted to try it. All I ended up getting was a regular cheese pizza. Even though I was disappointed that didn't stop me from eating that pizza. It wasn't bad, kind of on par with the other chain pizza restaurants. For those that did not have the chance to try Marco's yet, it is a square-ish pizza rather than round. The amount of cheese on the pizza was impressive and, if they were around me, would probably be a favorite for a quick meal on some nights. Did it live up to my expectations? Upon arrival, we waited a few minutes because the restaurant was very busy. However, once we were seated we were greeted immediately by our server Kathy. She took our drink orders, and came back with them quickly. My wife had a Modelo beer and I had a Yuengling. (Both were on tap. ) For dinner, my wife selected the Blackened Fish Tacos. This was made with Red Fish fillets, and placed in soft flour tortillas, with jalapeño slaw, diced tomatoes, and cilantro lime aioli. She loves fish tacos, and has gotten them in restaurants all over the country. She said that without a doubt, these were the best she has ever had! I ordered the New York Strip steak. It was flame broiled, and prepared perfectly to my order (medium). It was served with a salad, baked potato and green beans. Delicious! The great service and quality of food will keep us coming back for more.

Upon walking in for lunch there was only one bartender with a short black bob haircut working. None of the lights in the eating area were turned on. So we sat ourselves because she yelled upon walking in seat yourself in the right front wall curved booth. It took truly about 20 min to get the girl to come over to get our order because she was non stop talking to the one gentleman sitting at the bar. Worst was she was complaining about the bar itself, her managers, the fact they have no business, and she makes no money. I went to order two things that we not avail labor but on the menu first. I think it was fish then something else but to be out upon opening is disturbing. We ordered our drinks and a started of stuffed hot peppers in oil. They came out as 3 super small peppers and I honestly think the restaurant should be embarrassed to serve it and call it an appetizer and not a small plate. 5 bites of that. Finally we got our food and it was nothing special. The waitress had a bad attitude. The lights were never turned on. They complained about customizing an order for my 2 year old daughter who is a picky eater (we went with a cheese quesadilla.) at one point my daughter spilled her drink so I asked for a rag and instead of even saying don't worry about it she placed it on the table and walked away. I've never had that happen at an establishment I am dining at. I have not been back since nor will I be. For the price the owners need to re-evaluate the experience or lower the price and accept it is a very basic dive bar not a fancy Mediterranean place. I have heard they get decently busy on the weekend evenings but I will not ever return because I don't want to give my money to somewhere I left upset.

My wife had the pepper salad, which is one of her favorites here. I enjoyed the French dip with au jus, and a cup of coleslaw. The French Dip was stacked with nice slices of roasted beef. Delicious!

Great Food, But…read more... I stopped into the Hickory Bar and Grill while in the Hermitage area. The Hickory Bar and Grille has been around since 1998, and it is a local restaurant serving American cuisine, steaks, seafood dishes and pub-style foods. I actually went there to try one of their grilled items, but ended up having a Seafood Jambalaya from the featured menu. This was a very good take on Jambalaya as it was packed with fresh seafood, clams, and other related ingredients. I did have one glaring issue with the dish and the service. The Jambalaya had baby clams in it; however, the server did not warn me that the baby clams were in their shells. In that thick jambalaya broth, which I stirred and actually looked at before eating, the baby clams were well hidden. I took a few spoonfuls of the Jamabalaya, and on the third or fourth mouthful, I had a mouthful of clam shells. This was not cool, as I ended up with a small cut on my gums, nothing like the taste of blood while dining. The server did not drop a bowl for the shells on the table, so I did not expect the dish to have shells in it. She also did not mention that the dish had shells when she brought it to the table. I wasn't too happy that I had to pull chunks of clamshells out of my mouth either. This is an example of poor communication. The kitchen staff should have told the waitstaff that the jambalaya had shells in it, and the servers should have asked at the very least, "What's in it ? " before their shift. Another server came by the table and asked how everything was, and when I told them that the dish had shells in it, it did not faze her either; she just said ' oh yeah,' and sort of chuckled and walked away, no apology or action. I may try the Hickory Bar and Grille again one day, but I will go for what I originally went there for, steak or another grilled meat.

Since I am handicapped, it concerns me that I have to bring a friend to the bathroom with me to hold the door closed. I have made employees aware of this problem, but nothing has been done to fix it.
