I thought the service was great, especially with how busy the place can be. The food was excellent at a great price. Place is more upscale than a diner, and makes a great spot for a nice brunch! I first went to the Valley Kitchen years ago, in Boardman, and was excited to learn they were putting it in Hermitage. I have never been let down in the few years it has been here! read more

Updating the review to include pictures. The food is still just as great! They accommodate changes to the menu. My kids wanted chocolate chip pancakes instead of the sprinkle pancakes listed. I think the bacon is a little too thick cut for little kids. They usually love bacon but didn't like this type. The Nashville Hot Sandwich had a smokier taste than Buffalo. read more

This is the easiest review I will ever write -it doesn't matter what you order here- it will not disappoint. When we come into town, this is our spot. The interior is inviting and makes for THE place to meet up but the food does all the talk'n. Check out everything they did right this time ..in my pics. My favorite (not pictured) was the brown sugared bacon waffles with homemade whip cream. It didn't even need syrup . I usually can't eat more than a few bites of sweet breakfast dishes ... this is one of the few exceptions. Can't wait to come back! read more

My wife had mentioned she wanted to come here for breakfast so I surprised her for Mother's Day! Upon walking in we were greeted then seated. It was nice inside and comfortable. The waitress was very friendly. My wife ordered the stuffed French toast with a side of bacon. I ordered the daddy skillet. She really enjoyed her stuffed French toast! The bacon was big thick cut pieces! The skillet was very hearty and filling. I would like to go back and check out their lunch menu someday! read more

Had a nice meal with some friends passing through. It was a busy Saturday morning, but we were seated within 10 minutes. It was a bit noisy, but we were still able to visit. Everyone had a good meal. I was hoping for a little bit more spice in the chorizo skillet. Despite not being here that long, it definitely has a hometown, familiar feeling on the inside. read more

The parking lot was nearly full, and although the restaurant was busy we were quickly seated. We were a little disappointed to discover that brunch did not offer mimosas or bloody marys; however, I think there may be review pictures posted with the Hermitage location that should be posted with the Boardman location which does serve them. Nonetheless, the food is worth the trip. Breakfast potatoes were by far the highlight and are clearly scratch-made. The service was a bit slow, but it was busy, so it was understandable. What a great find if you're a brunch kind of person. We stopped here because we saw all the great reviews on Yelp and we were yet again satisfied with the choice. Thanks to Yelp we have found a lot of great places and tried a lot of new things. This place is newly updated and extremely busy during the morning hours. Expect a little wait but it's worth it. Rhi was our waitress and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. Portions were big and service was great. I've been to Valley Kitchen numerous times. Usually crowded, especially at breakfast on weekends. Wait time has always been short The food? Beyond good! Everything's freshly cooked with quality products by a master in the kitchen. Portions are really big...I'm a big guy & can pack away some food but I've never left Valley Kitchen without a container with at least 30% of my entree. The atmosphere is calm & joyful...the brains behind Valley Kitchen have assembled a great team in a great place with great food! read more

Walk in and are greeted by the friendly hostesses and bright, welcoming, yellow walls, with wood accents . We were brought into one of the side rooms. I enjoyed the space that was available , I did not feel crowded, even though it was busy. I ordered the banana, pecan, caramel pancakes with a side of bacon . Lots of surprises here, especially for the greater Hermitage area! Let me explain. We went for a late breakfast on a weekday. (Might be a good time to mention they are only open for breakfast and lunch.) Anyway, the place was about 50% occupied and the service was VERY attentive. The creative menu is something I would find in a hip section of a major city! So-well-done! My girlfriend had the smoked salmon benedict with a huge portion of salmon! I had Shrimp and Grits - wow! The grits were definitely homemade (using yellow corn!) and the spices were spot-on of the S & G I ate in New Orleans! There were 6 grilled and spiced shrimp on top, and then uncovered more as I ate! Great Breakfast in Hermitage. Great Service when dining in restaurant. They are short staffed at times. Unusual occurrence on Sunday morning 7/6/25 at 9am. I called to put in a takeout breakfast order and I was told, "due to being short staffed, they would not be taking any take out orders" ??? I would think so long as a cook is working, that take out should take less staff than diners eating in the restaurant? To the server answering the phone, I still tip when ordering takeout. read more

I visit this restaurant frequently and love everything about it. I have never had any problems with the food or the service. For the price, you get a lot of food and it is always good. Yesterday June 8th there between 830 & 10. Sat in area where you go up 2 steps. Horrible service, 3 tables that came in after us were waited on. I asked a waitress who had our table her response was I don't know. By then was waiting over 15 minutes. Finally a waitress came over didn't look happy to be there at all, did take our order. We eat there 1 or 2 times a week but yesterday very dissatisfied with service. Food is always great no complaints there. read more

I found the Valley Kitchen almost by accident the other day. It was late and I wanted breakfast. A few places I wanted to go closed at 2 PM. A quick map search showed me the Valley Kitchen. So my brother and I decided to give it a go. Boy, am I glad we did. I saw corned beef hash on the menu made in house. I got it and it was fantastic, not the canned grocery store stuff. It was so good we decided to make a return trip the next day with Mom in tow. Everything on the menu looks great. Today I decided to try the Reuben Skillet. Think of a deconstructed Reuben sandwich put in a skillet over home fries. It was fabulous and a lot of food. I ate half and was full, took the other half home and had the rest for dinner. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, the service is great and there's always someone around to refill my coffee. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items. If you're anywhere near Hermitage, and even if you're not, it's worth a drive to the Valley Kitchen for a meal. Just don't go on Monday, as they are only open Tuesday to Sunday from 7 AM to 3 PM. read more

The food here is good. The restaurant did not have many customers as it was a Wednesday afternoon. I was alone this time so I ate at the bar. They got my order wrong which I pointed out when they brought me my plate. Then I was ignored. There were three people on a slow day behind the counter and no one would look at me. After waiting over ten minutes and watching in disbelief as they continued to ignore me, I finally walked up to one and told them I was still waiting on my fruit. I made a reservation for 10:30 an hour ahead for a party of 6. I told the lady on the phone my mom is handicapped and could not stand long. At 11, they called a party of 5 that walked in 25 minutes after us. I addressed this with the hostess and she said they had to wait to seat us so we would be comfortable. Mind you I had 3 small children with me and they seated the party of 5 who did not wait ahead of us. We would have easily fit wherever the all adult party was headed. They never asked if we would be okay in the seats they were giving to the other non-waiting party, just continually seated others ahead of us. I don't mind waiting our turn, but to be passed up and wait for 30 minutes unnecessarily is not acceptable. We ended up leaving and going to Tiffany's where they were more than accommodating. When I called the manager was rude and never even apologized. We will never be back. Completely unacceptable to treat people this way. read more
