Stopped here on a night I was in town for work. Seemed ok to eat here, there were plenty of cars in the parking lot. I went in and there were only 3 other people at the bar. Had a seat and the bartender took a few minutes and then she greeted me. I wasn't drinking, so I got a menu and ordered my food. Then all hell broke loose, the system that processes their credit cards, food & drink orders went down. They were trying to get back online. I had already ordered my food, so at this point I was stuck until the system rebooted. Well, I finished my meal and no reboot happened yet. I waited about 10-15 minutes with no luck. They took my credit card number and presented me a generic check. I don't blame the workers, for attempting to the best they could. Where was the manager at this point? I hope on the phone with corporate. I gave them information that I did not want to give. I contacted my credit card company to be aware of any charges after this date, cause I don't plan to use it for at least a month. As far as Applebees, I sent them an email and had no reply! We arrived at 8:20. Seated at 8:30. Ordered at 8:30, food distributed staring at 9:15 - two salads. We received our entrees at 9:45, 15 minutes to closing. I ordered a rare 8 oz steak with a side of double broccoli, Caesar salad, and coffee. Let us begin. Don't get coffee. It's really old and burned on the pot for at least a few hours before arriving to my lips. When the food finally arrived, I had high expectations.... It's not too busy, but they had decent business in the building. When we got our food, I was less than pleased; a medium-well steak with raw, warm crunchy/potent onions, and over salted everything else. I don't do steak sauce. I had to use it to distract myself from the salt. Let's just say, it didn't work. TLDR. Come for watered down drinks or fried crap. Lesson learned! read more

Great Place For A Quick Bite!! During my stay in the West Middlesex area last year, I was looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't fast food. I checked my Tripadvisor App, my Yelp and my Google and chose Applebee's in Hermitage. I had just driven in from a long day on the road and was super hungry. I pulled up in the driveway and found parking quite easily and quickly. I wasn't in the mood to hang out at the bar, so I got a table, fairly quickly a=for Sunday dinner service. I noticed right away that the calories were listed on the menu items, so that's a plus for me. My server was friendly and made some recommendations, and I settled on a local craft beer, tortilla soup and the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp, which was a no brainer at 610 calories. The tortilla was just above average, but edible, with some hot sauce. The beer was a great match for the chicken and shrimp. On my plate the potatoes were roasted, nit too salty, and had just enough crispness to them. The chicken was soft juicy tender, and not too salty and served on a bed of sauteed onions, on a sizzling plate ( nice touch), My shrimp was cooked evenly and the portion was just right, not too much, and not too little. The only thing I would watch out for with this selection is the scoop of garlic and chive butter that's plopped on top of the shrimp. Conclusion: A Good healthy meal that hit my macros, I didn't wait too long even though it was busy, and the service was great. Visited this store 5-18-24. Good atmosphere, music was a little loud for midday and some older people may not have appreciated it but place was clean and friendly. Our waitress,Victoria, was great and the food was good. Only one thing: the buns are not big enough for the sandwiches! They fell apart after a couple of bites. My husband had the bacon burger and I had the bacon ranch chicken and both were excellent! Maybe might want to recheck that bun thing but we'll definitely be back! Thank you! read more

I ate lunch here and it wasn't busy. The parking lot was small so it might be hard to find parking if it was busy. The interior was similar to other Applebees locations. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Penne ($10.99) since it sounded good. My order took maybe five to ten minutes to come out. It didn't look as good as I thought it would but it could also be the lighting. The chicken was just okay as well as the Penne. If the chicken was more blackened then I think it would have been better. My waiter was nice and checked on me a few times. Service was just "ok", not great considering it was on 5pm and the place was empty...that should have been a red flag...but we were hungry. THEN it took an hour for dinner to arrive, then the waitress had to return numerous times to our table because she kept forgetting items THEN it took 20 minutes for her to return with the bill. AND THE DAMN MUSIC IS TOO LOUD! You deliberately trying to drive your customers out? Nearly had to shout to be heard. If I had known I was going to a rock concert, I'd have bought my ear plugs! I looked around the restaurant to survey the clientele...and majority were over 60. We don't necessarily want to hear loud rock music while we're busy complaining to each other about our aches and pains. Who decides what level of noise is appropriate? We visited this restaurant today only to find that is has gone from bad to worse the restrooms need a complete remodel they are filthy and smell. I was going to eat supper and have a couple of drinks here on a Tuesday night, but I ended up walking out before my food was served because my waitress disappeared and never came to check on me between taking my order and the meal coming out. I sat down at 6:05 PM and I left at 6:30 PM, 5 minutes after my waitress walked past my table and ignored me trying to get her attention. When I left, not one employee noticed me leaving, they were all too busy somewhere else. I called the manager and told him what had happened and he told me that he was going to mail me a gift card as an apology for the poor service "the first thing in the morning tomorrow." I have not received the gift card as of Saturday, so I doubt that he mailed it. I've eaten here in the past, and the food is Ok, but the service is so hit or miss that I'm never going to eat at this Applebee's again unless someone else is treating me to a meal. My fiancé I and a close group of friends and I attend this location often. I love their spinach artichoke dip and steak! However the last time I got a steak I ordered it almost all done with just a little red and it came own light brown and raw the whole way through. I was upset to hear that I bought my future in laws a gift card for this place and their waitress Rachel gave them a hard time and wouldn't let them use it and also over charged them on their food adding extra sides that they never ordered to their bill. I've been a longtime customer, but haven't gotten out much this winter. Walked in and they were busy but emptying out quickly. First thing I noticed was the bar area changed. It was almost like they can't decide if they want the bar or not. Happy Hour menu was limited to 5 choices and their beer special was Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), not even the dive bars in the area have that on tap. Ordered food and it took 20 min to get the starters, 2 bowls of soup. Disappointed because it looked like half a cup of soup. I ordered baby back ribs that were horribly over cooked, tough and had almost no meat. Wife ordered a steak, cooked well but the plate was very greasy. Menu prices have seemed to have gone WAY UP. The wrap was a perfect blend of ingredients and was muy bueno. The only downside was the horrible iced tea. I mean it was absolute garbage. I had to put 3 lemons in with the sweetener to make it even bearable. I would've rather have had dirty hose water with iron particles and contaminants in it atleast it has some good flavor. Very nice atmosphere. Good food, and fairly reasonably priced. My only real complaint comes to their policies regarding alcohol. Generally, I like to enjoy a Bloody Mary. It's a rather spicy drink, so I also usually order a Blue Moon to go with it (as a means to cool the palette). The waiter refused to serve both beverages at the same time, noting that it was their policy to do so. I found this rather interesting, as I've never run into a policy like this anywhere else I've dined. For starters; I'm a vegetarian and wanted pasta, but want familiar with the menu. He suggested I substitute the chicken on the Three Cheese Chicken Penne with broccoli. When it came out it was phenomenal! I WAS RAVING ABOUT IT SO LOUDLY I HEARD A GIRL ORDER IT AT THE TABLE NEXT TO US. Came in for a quick dinner on a Monday night. I sat at the bar. Not very busy. I ordered a beer and a classic burger pink in the center. The choices are pink or no pink. After a good long wait my burger arrived looking like a very burned hockey puck. I tried to cut into it to reassure myself that it only looked burned. It broke in half as I tried to cut into it. It was dry and way way way overcooked. I asked the bartender to just take it away and take it off the check. The manager never came over so I tracked her down on my way out to find a new restaurant. We used to stop here for Happy Hour all the time up until the end of 2011 and loved it...Then we moved away. We came back at the end of 2014 and stopped for Happy Hour, ordered a couple beers and looked at the very meager Happy Hour menu. Then we looked around and noticed the place was almost empty...Something was different and very wrong since we were last there. I asked our waiter how much the tall Yuenglings were during Happy Hour and he said we save 59 cents....59 cents! My family and I came to this Applebee's location this evening for dinner. We started off with 3 appetizers (as we were a large group). We ordered the sweet potato fries, mozzarella sticks, and artichoke dip. First came out the mozz sticks, but we had to wait another 5 minutes for the rest of our appetizers, which I thought was kind of strange. The fries were delicious, but the chips that came with the artichoke dip were soggy and not crispy. They were bendable and greasy. We kindly asked our waitress for another side of chips instead, but those ones were not much better. We figured it was a losing battle and just let it go, no big deal. Our entrees were very good and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves at this point, minus the fact our waitress needed to be asked to bring us refills on soda when they were empty. Lastly, we decided to order dessert. We ordered two orders of churros with toasted marshmallow and chocolate sauce. Our marshmallows came out untoasted, which was not how it appeared in the picture. While we were eating dessert, we boxed up our food as well, but we accidentally left it on the table. We came back in 5 minutes later realizing we left it at the restaurant and they informed us that they threw it all out, which is understandable but disappointing they didn't waste any time thinking we would come back and retrieve it. Overall, it was an okay experience, I just think some initiative needed to be taken in order to make us, your guests, happy.
