The worst service you could think of. Watched a group of 4 that arrived a 1/2 an hour after our family of 4 receive their meal 15 min later. When I confronted the manager she was ready to try and make it my fault because we ordered appetizers. ( 2 house salads took 20 minutes to arrive) Another manager brought our food out then asked us to leave. I will never go there again. I came here for a family dinner on a busy Saturday night. Because my family enjoyed Applebee's we waiting 45 minutes before being seated. Our order included a steak, a burger, and bourbon street chicken. All three meals were delivered to the table overly cooked. The chicken was cooked so long that the outside was charred. When the waitress came back to the table my mom told her about the burnt food and without a second word the waitress left to get the manager. We have no idea why she went that far with it but the manager came over and graciously offered to have our food remade. When the food came back to the table the steak was so raw that it looked like it hadn't been cooked at all and the burger tasted as if a whole shaker of salt was poured into it. The whole experience was 3 hours long and we still walked out unsatisfied, hungry, and left with a hefty bill. read more

I'm visiting from out of town and would NEVER go to an Applebee's, however I did. We sat at the bar for drinks and Katrina took care of us. If I was here I would come in again when she was here. If you do have to come here. Sit at the bar and hope that this little babe is working behind the bar. Service was fast and efficient. ok I get it it's applebees. but when you spend 23 dollars on a steak and it is trash there is a problem. small steak for 12 ounces claimed. not cooked right no season to the steak which is ok if it's what they claim it is a ribeye but definitely not. this thing is chewy as all get out and no flavor at all no sear nothing would not recommend. and to add to this I would not cook steaks untell you hire a new cook because a five year old could do it better. oh and I took the whole steak home fed it to the dogs sorry not sorry. read more

Honestly, I would not have come to this restaurant, let alone twice in one weekend unless I was dragged here. I'm not a fan of the crapplebees. However, both experiences were quite delightful. We had large groups both visits and stuck the children at a table by themselves. The waitresses were great with splitting the bills 5-8 different ways. Our drinks were always full and the food was actually tasty. The first night the fries at our table were cold. The waitress immediately went back to the kitchen for warmer baskets. read more

Just had a delicious dinner at applebees. Our server Erin was so sweet! She explained different dishes and suggested for me the steak salad and I am so glad I got that, the flavor is so good and the steak was perfect! Not the best Applebee's that I've been to but for the prices, I go there once a month or so. Environment is great and the staff is friendly (even though their turnover rate is high). The cooks could use more practice with their entrees as the quality is very inconsistent. Rarely do I get a properly made steak but they're still good. Just keep your expectations low and it can only go up from there. read more

I go to Ferris State university in Big Rapids Michigan and there are not a lot of sit-down places to go. Applebee's is a great combination of being cheaper in a college town and having the ability to sit down in a booth and spend time with those around you, or have a dinner date with yourself. The menu caters to those in college who want to hang out with friends or want to have a date night by offering a three-course meal option, two for 20, or two for 25. With my stay, I went with the three-course menu, which was an offering of either a dinner salad or a Cesar salad, a smaller sized appetizer, and a meal. Based on the meal that you choose, picks out the end price that you will be paying for. I got the Cesar salad, the BBQ boneless wings, and the crunchy shrimp and fries. The food all came out in a rather fast matter, but I ordered my fried shrimp with broccoli, but the meal came to me with the original fry option. We were joking around with the server and he seemed to be attentive and with us all getting waters, we didn't feel like we were being treated differently because of our lower end bill prices. We did have an issue with the restaurant not being busy and so we felt more comfortable staying later and catching up with some old friends and felt like our server almost stopped coming to our table completely after giving our bills so that we would see ourselves out. We ended up talking and waiting at the table to see if our server would come over and take away our plates, but we ended up collecting our own plates and putting them at the end of our table and waited for our server to come by and pick them up. Over all, I would still go back and we do often go back with my group of friends to eat. This wasn't an off-putting experience, but I would have liked him to not have completely written us off after the bills were paid. The location was on the later side and it wasn't busy, so we weren't taking a table away from someone who was waiting for the table. I did go on the Facebook page and liked that the team was creative and put on the Facebook page about what the servers do for each other and what they do for everyone else. The creative way that Applebee's is set up like an older style location. The decor is of photos of random people and it supports the sports of Ferris State University community and it feels like something that would be at home. read more

Having generally avoided Applebee's as a whole for years after having several disappointing experiences, I was pleasantly surprised to try this location and find myself wanting to return soon. Our server was nice (I wish I could say who she was but she never gave us her name which was probably my only complaint with her service) but other staff was unfriendly and interactions between them were either nonexistent or cold. I had a great experience at The Applebees in Big Rapids! Before arriving I called. I called during a busy time so I was concerned they would be irritated with me. Dakota answered and was very attentive and friendly. Upon arrival, the door was opened for me by the hostess. I was promptly greeted and seated. while waiting for my food I was able to hear and watch the Hockey game. The food was on time. My drink was never empty. I really love this Applebees, the waiters are so friendly, the food comes quick and everything tastes great! On a busy night, say Friday or Saturday around 6 or 7 there's a bit of a wait, but I think it's worth it. Their mix drinks are pricey, but so good and they don't scrimp on the alcohol! read more

My best place to eat here in town. The food is always great and delicious. The server I had her she did great job on check back, however it was annoying to me. The thing that I wasn't expecting is the food I had three cheese and chicken with shrimp with other appetizers and the presentation was not good at all. I don't see the manager there . I can easily hear what's going on in the back of the house yelling. I don't like the smell there. One time when I was there with my family there is a server who tread us so bad and I promised myself not to go there but I know sometimes people will have a bad day. I received exactly what I expected when entering this Applebee's establishment. Like most people I was familiar with the menu and food options. The establishment was clean and the staff was very friendly. If I could say one thing about this Applebee's in particular is that they have a great staff. Overall, my experience was good like normal. Upon pulling up to the restaurant, the signage was easy to find and the parking lot was clean for a parking lot. The curb appeal could use a little work but I do understand it is winter and with snow, wind, and flowers dying, there is an exception. We were seated quickly as soon as the hostess was done seating a group who arrived before us and we were seated next to the bar. Throughout our meal the server was very friendly and took care of all of our needs. The bar service was a little slow and we were often left waiting for a drink. There was only one bartender but the restaurant was fairly slow so she should have been able to prepare drinks a little quicker. Our waiter was a little on the slow side as well but made up for it with flawless service and never forgot anything. All of our food came out prepared to liking, perfect, and all there. We were checked on twice by a manager on duty asking if we were doing okay in addition to our waiter checking on us. When it came time for the bill, the waiter did not apply the free appetizer to my bill like we had discussed before I ordered when I gave him the coupon, but I let it slide and just payed the full bill. He also mixed up a few drinks on other bills that were at our table. But, he handled it quickly and we left on our way. All in all, it was a good experience at Applebees and I know I will return again soon. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. I know it's a chain restaurant but I like this place. The food is always good, always. They change up the menu every couple of months which keeps things fresh. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The bartenders are cool and fun to chat with. It is getting to be a little pricey but still worth it. I've never encountered a bad experience at this Applebee's restaurant. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve you. The waiters/waitresses always seem to be aware of the newest items on the menu as well as the specials they currently have running. I love ending a stressful day with one of their house margaritas... It doesn't get much better than that! :) I think I have tried every single one of their appetizers and they are ALL FABULOUS!!! I've had good meals, and bad meals here. Just tonight I had the pepper crusted sirloin with grains, or a steak smaller than my palm on a mound of soggy oats, chewed-up spinach, and mushroom stalks, all of it soaked in watery mushroom juice. My Caesar half-salad was more filling. Our server was top-notch, even making good recommendations to my girlfriend, but the kitchen seemed to think I wanted my appetizer, salad, and entree at the same time. She had a chicken stir-fry and was happy with it. Dessert was delicious, but that was the only dish that had any merit. I'm only further jaded to eating here again. read more
