Great staff at the big rapids Applebee's! Also, the management is really nice and accommodating.

Besides the long wait to be seated, three tables being served drinks (who were seated after us) before us, the microwaved mac n' cheese, soggy green beans, no utensils to eat from, being served half full drinks, excessive wait for our bill, and puke in the parking lot... it was less than impressive. read more

When we were seated very quickly once noticed. But was not initially greeted when we walked in and when we were it was not with a smile. She did ask if our table was okay though. We were also greeted by our waitress Cassie very quickly after being seated. The food was very good, looked nice on the plate. Meat was a little more done on one side than it was on the other side (medium rare steak). My roommate loved the crispy shrimp. We had our food fairly quickly and our appetizer came out within seven minutes. Cassie also never allowed a glass to become empty. The manager did do a table touch but, did not tell us his name. They do not take reservations but are happy to hear when you will be coming in and what your party size is. Brenden was not from the area but still gave good instructions on how to get there from the highway. For such a rough winter their plants were looking very well. However, I can not say that the winter was as nice to their driveway or their parking lot. You can see the lines but you can also see the large pot hole that looks to be a good eighteen inches by eighteen inches and about an inch to two inches deep. The driveway to their parking lot coming in from the light I would recommend coming in slowly due to the difference in the curb in and the parking lot and is more like a speed bump. The bathrooms were adequately cleaned however, there was dried on white water around the faucets and the paper towel machine sounded as if it was going to come off the wall. It was extremely loud. Overall, I rate them a three because of the pros and cons added up is at about a C level. The food was good as was our waitress. Their monthly special looked very good however, it is an alcoholic beverage. I also honestly forget that they are a franchise with how polite and down to Earth our waitress was and never said no problem when we thanked her. It was always "Your Welcome". read more

Went to Applebee's last night and as always I am impressed. Just the two of us went and ordered the 2 for $20 with an app and our app came at a good time and 10 mins or so later our entrée came out. My boyfriend ordered a drink from the bar and periodically asked if he needed a refill. What I like the most about Applebee's is that you get decent food for cheap and its fast. We had the nachos, which were awesome! My Thai salad was good, hubs said the burger was a little great, the kids Mac & cheese was dry. It was fine overall. Our server was very nice. She forgot to subtract a coupon from our bill and the manager was very helpful in resolving the issue. read more

Horrible service the only person to ask if we needed refills "forgot" to give them to us. We had no luck flagging down someone else to help us either. However, the worst is they are now putting tablets like and iPad on tables. I removed ours from our table but was still CHARGED for the 3 minutes it was on there. When asked about it the waitress said "it doesn't matter how long you use it we still charge." Not impressed, go elsewhere to eat. read more

My friends and I had visited late Sunday night and the service was superb. I give credit to the hostess and the waitress. Simply outstanding, The food was delivered to us on time and the service overall was divine. My experience here at Applebee's was a great one! My server was kind and bubbly and was very helpful in assisting us in menu items to order based on what my friends and I liked. The dining room and bar were clean and organized. We were greeted and checked on by the manager and felt like part of the family with our server Mel. Our order was taken in a reasonable amount of time although it did take awhile to receive. When our food did come out though, it was hot and tasty! The drinks were great too! Overall, this restaurant is a great place for friends and families to come out and have a good meal with great service. read more

Managers and some staff have a "no we can't" attitude. They immediately told us this restaurant cannot accommodate a 9 top then found out they could within less than 10 minutes. We've been coming for 8 straight years at deer season and our 8-10 top has been seated together every time. Manager had a cold & uncaring response to our fact based history with this restaurant. Need to change the culture at this establishment if they hope to become what some Applebee's already are in terms of service. read more

I have mixed feelings about my visit. Walked in the door with my friends and was not greeted right aware, just starred at for a few minutes. When we were finally greeted we felt unwanted. The outside of the restaurant was appealing and for the most part the inside was but multiple tables sat dirty almost our entire visit. Our server was excellent except for the fact that she told us her name was one thing but her name tag said a different name. I had multiple questions about the menu and she knew the answer to each of those questions. Our server did not offer any suggestions and the food I ended up choosing was bland. Our server was very accommodating with our special requests and everything came out as ordered. It did take about 30 minutes to get our food though. Before our entrees came out, my friend and I split an appetizer. The plates that were brought out with the apps were dirty. Gross. The new menu was interesting and had a lot of good choices. However, the drink my friend ordered was a different price than listed, it was cheaper so that was better, but still misleading. Also, my menu had no corrections but my friends had stickers saying "retired early" over a handful of selections. At the end of the meal, only half of our plates were cleared and the rest sat cluttered on the table. When the server brought our checks and then cashed us out she mixed up our cards and I was charged the wrong order. She did fix it but it took time, we also had no visit from the manager which I know is a must by Applebee's standards. Like I said, mixed feelings but I would definitely go back. read more

I went to your Applebees last week with one of my friends and was overall satisfied with the servers and hostess staff. The food was aways great and delicious and i was shocked how fast it came out during the busy night. I enjoy coming every time to your restaurant and look through the food menu. The guest service experience was great that day too. One thing that i would recommend with your restaurant is that walking up i did notice a lot of cigarettes outside in the parking lot. read more
