The service was horrible. I wasn't going to leave any tip but my dinner buddy somehow convinced me to leave $2. The fries and onion rings were cooked in old burned oil. I know this because you cannot mistake that taste! The burger didn't have onion and bacon on it like it was supposed to. The waitress took 5 min to get a sweet tea and 10 to get a bottle of beer. Dinner buddy got a refill of tea and it took the waitress another 10 min to get it. A plate that comes with fries, you would think that ketchup would be placed on the table.... I didn't realize there was no ketchup until i wanted to cover the taste of burned oil in the fries! The waitress acted like she wanted us to leave when she came back with the tea and the plates were covered with the napkins. Wish i could give ZERO stars! Never will i go to Applebee's again! this place was close to literal shit. as soon as you walk in the smell of marlboro and shitty service smacks you in the face as if to get the strong urge to vomit and leave. if one could give a rating lower than 1 star i most certainly would. the food took much longer than necessary to come to the table and it wasn't even right, nor was it completely there. the caesar salad had a whopping 3 croutons and dressing on 2 areas on the plate. not even on the lettuce! and the "wings" were chicken nugget rejects from sonic. 0/10 would definitely not recommend. read more

If I could give a zero I would. Please go elsewhere to eat. It's dirty (first thing I noticed). As others have stated, they allow smoking in the bar area! I wAs still going to give this place a chance because other Applebee's have been great and we were hungry from traveling 5 hours. The bartender was not only rude but racist. We made a comment about smoking allowed in the restaurant and was this a state allowance then she replied TX are Trump supporters. What?!?! I am Native American but always get mistaken for Hispanic. I felt that comment was for me. We decided to leave but after the classless bartender said the most horrible, foul mouth statements which was unnecessary because we were leaving. SMOKIN :( I've always liked their "Oriental Chicken Salad" and my husband and I were close so decided to have dinner. He went to the bath and when he came back I said that I know this sounds strange...but I really think I smell cigarette smoke. He said that I did - that the people at the bar were puffin' away. I said WHAT??? I thought ALL the restaurants in Amarillo were smoke-free? There was NO WALL-NO DIVISION OF ANY KIND-NO EXHAUST THAT WE COULD SEE??? I was SHOCKED! If we hadn't already placed our orders we would have left! We both looked online and it was true! I agree with that's probably why the Tascosa location closed. I'll bet this one isn't far behind. Months ago when I was there we'd always been seated by the windows and hadn't been downwind of the second-hand smoke. That's the LAST TIME we go there! I wish restaurants would not serve a dish, if they dont have enough to offer a full portion. Some of these restaurants in Amarillo are going to have to do better, as there are many new places hitting the market. Dont offer a subpar portion. If a dish is supposed to have mushrooms, then put mushrooms. Patron shouldn't have to be looking for them on their plate. They are a little high in price for what you can get elsewhere. read more

Let me start by saying the food we got was actually pretty good. My issues were: 1. The service was slow. 2. The servings have shrunk. 3. Both my wife and I did not receive what was ordered. Her order was to have Mexiranch dipping sauce and I ordered the BBQ fries. The sauce was eventually brought and I ate the regular fries (they were good). Man has this place gone down hill, went to get seated and the hostess was doing homework on her computer. Was annoyed we wanted seated. Then when we got seated the waiter was insistent that we use the computer to order, yeah right!! Finally when our food came fries and ribs were cold, funny thing is on the computer there is not a button to send the food back. Apple bee's food is mediocre and has slow service but overall I will probably come back. We always have to wait a long time for our food but the waiter/waitress are always pleasantly nice I know this review is harsh but most of what I am saying is true. read more

Two out of three times we've gone, the service was terrible. The manager will only make excuses and blamed us for having eight people there and that slowed the food down. WHAT? The pasta had sat under a heat lamp until it was all stuck together. Of course, the last time was even worse. Two of our party if six had to have their food boxed to go because the kitchen couldn't prepare everything at once. Others had finished their dinner but only after our guests insisted. This was a terrible eating experience. There was no host for a while then was confused about what to do. The waitress did not show up so the host took our drink order but came back in 5 minutes asking what our drink order was. The waitress finally showed up got the order wrong and the check wrong while spending most of her time at the bar talking to the other workers not working. The worst. read more

While I have had a decent meal here months ago my recent attempt to dine there was the worst possible. It all falls on management and the attitudes of the workers. My wife and I went there for a birthday lunch around 12:30 on Sunday. The parking lot had plenty of spaces vacant so I didn't expect much of a wait. We walked in and the waiting area was packed and we put our name on the list, but as we stood there and looked around we noticed more empty tables than needed for the people waiting to be seated. There were three employees hanging out up front not really doing anything. One was taking names. We counted nine dirty tables and booths that no one was attempting to clear. We waited about ten minutes and no progress was being made even though there were workers present with nothing to do or at least they thought that there was nothing to do. At no time did I see the management come up to take charge of the place. One of the waiters starting clearing a couple of the tables in his area, but no one was seated when he finished. We were getting impatient when another couple came in and sized the place up much quicker than we did. when they saw the dirty and empty tables and the packed waiting area they turned and left with a negative comment or two on their way through the door. So we followed suit and left for another place to eat. It was as bad or worse but I'll leave that for another review. read more

Nice restaurant, nice waitress but there is a bar in the middle and the restaurant allows smoking. The smoke smell filled the restaurant. It would have been much better to smell the food. It felt too much like a bar and not the family atmosphere that they promote. There were ten big screen tv's and they were on different channels. This was very distracting. We went on Saturday but the place was not packed. There were a lot of empty tables but the wait was way longer than we expected. After 30 minutes of waiting we had to ask if they could bring out the kids food because they were starving. Ten minutes or so later they brought the rest out. I ordered a steak medium rare, and got a rare one. I didn't send it back because of how long we had waited, I was not about to wait another 30 min. I should have turned around when I walked into the place. A cloud of cigarette smoke hit us and was not pleasant for my child or wife who has asthma. I thought all restaurants in Amarillo were smoke free but They must view themselves as a bar. This could be why the only people here were old smokers and alcoholics. Our server was nice enough and helpful but the rest of the staff was rude and inconsiderate. I guess that is what happens when you employee passive aggressive enough kids. The food was decent but the prices have sky rocketed since last I was here. My daughter who is three got the tablet on the table and started playing a game. I was charged $2 for this which I would not have minded if I knew about it first. I would ink there would be parental controls and when I brought it to managements attention they did not care. I will not be back and should have checked the reviews first but it's an Applebee's so I figured they were all the same.
