This store is crazy busy all the time, nearly only enough room to walk through. Most people are drooling over the new apple products and it's the only official Apple store on the west side. Being an apple person for sometime, I know what I want and usually just need a few mins to see what is the big deal with newest products. Recently I picked up a "new" Ipad and got to see how the in-store purchases are dealt with. It was semi confusing but worked. I was put into some type of queue and was told that I have a 20min wait but it was actually closer to 5mins. The employee that I dealt with wasn't too pushy and the transaction was very quick. I thought for sure I would of got a bunch of cases/chargers etc pushed on me as if I was at Best Buy but no, it was short, sweet and efficient. My iPhone 4S was having some on/off button issues so I decided to take it in. I was helped promptly by someone at the Genius Bar and then paired with Jamal Lewis. I've heard nothing but bad experiences about the Apple Retail store but mine was exceptional on all fronts. Jamal was very intelligent and handled the replacement of my phone with ease and professionalism. We also briefly talked on a personal level, which was fantastic and completely genuine. Hands down some of the best service I've ever received - ever! Washington Square managers - make sure you treat this guy well. I had the most stellar interaction with Whitney today at the Apple Store at Washington Square. I came in a bit defeated, not knowing a solution to my problem and was instantly greeted by a smiling Whitney. She immediately let me know she would do everything she could to help me and wow oh wow, she spent so much time and was so patient with me it was remarkable. I am blown away by my help from Whitney. Honestly, I am not a fan of malls but Whitney would get me back into this Apple Store just because of her knowledge, charm and creative solutions to my perplexing and complex issues. After a truly disappointing experience at the apple store in the downtown location, this store renewed my faith in Apple's customer care and support. Let me illustrate how much they differ in handling same exact request for fixing a macbook display. Downtown Apple: (Pioneer place): Almost immediately, with condescending tone, "there will be cost to this." Washington Square: With a smile, "We can fix this under warranty. No problem." Downtown Apple: Again with condescending tone, "I am not sure but your mac mostly likely won't be ready by xx date" Washington Square: With a assuring nod, "There is a good chance we can have the mac ready by xx date" Downtown Apple: Quote for the fix: ~$700 Washington Square: Quote for the fix: $0 You do the math! read more

You sucked me into the apple world when I bought my iphone and now I am hooked. My laptop is crying in the corner while I am happily playing with my mac book. "hehehe...we look so funny in our photobooth pictures...why don't PCs have a photobooth?" Why, oh why, didn't I make the switch sooner? Staying with Microsoft is kind of like having the battered wife syndrome (I'm not making fun of battered women by any means - it's just the most accurate analogy I can think of). Your PC is constantly abusing you, but you are too scared too leave. You stay way too long, but when you make the switch, your world opens up and life is worth living again. There are shelters for abused women, and now there are Apple stores to seek refuge and expert help from Geniuses that will help you make the switch. I love you Steve Jobs. The Bridgeport location rocks because, well, Bridgeport is pretty for a mall and the staff is always amazing. We were in Portland for the day for an event from Seattle, and were also in the market for a computer. The phrase "no sales tax" made this place a priority on our list. When we first walked in we were approached by someone, asking us if we needed help. She immediately pointed us towards a sales person, Tyler, that would be able to answer all of our questions. Tyler was extremely professional, knowledgeable as well as helpful. He showed us a few quick tricks for our new device, to help the transition over from a PC. When it came to an in-store set-up just to make sure that everything would start up correctly, Tyler set us up with Matt. Matt made the set up process very easy for us, and explained some of the "new-to-mac" specifications that we encountered. Tyler was also super patient when I had to call into my Credit Card company to verify the purchase as well. All in all it was a great experience in-store. I am so great full for the service I received here the other day. My dog got ahold of my phone destroying half of the screen. I was so upset thinking I would have to buy a new phone. I first went to T-Mobile who was no help. I called the apple store and was able to set up an appointment for the next day. When I met with them to my relief he said he could fix the screen for $100 and have the phone back to me in an hour. I had everything back in working order in less than 24hours thanks to their awesome service. I will continue to be an Apple customer. read more

Ah the Apple store. If you want to make a simple purchase and play with their gadgets - hey 4 stars all the way! If you need to use the Genius bar and diligently go through their online appointment system, only to see your time slip further and further way - 2 stars... I've settled on 3 stars here are some declarative statements as to my experience: Easy to buy my iphone once I had a guy dedicated to helping me - as he was a nice guy and did everything for me and explained it along the way But... Took over 40 minutes to transfer my account to my iphone and the first new iphone I was given was bad - which we discovered in store. The layout of the store is not conducive to movement of people. It plugs up often. There has to be a better way Needs better identification of sales vs tech vs management staff Know thy accessories better if I have questions about them Don't push Mobile Me on me when it is apparent I don't need it And last but not least - and this does not relate to the store - make the iphones with replaceable batteries darn it!!! read more

Apple Stores are always sooooo CRAZY!!! and this one didn't miss a beat with that.... It was a Tuesday and the mall was pretty slow but not the Apple store. We were just looking for a silicone case and had to find it ourself and find someone to purchase it as well, which took a good 15 minutes. I know that they are all really helpful and once you get a hold of an associate questions just start flowing but sometimes when you just want to grab something and go, forget about it! I hate going to 3rd party companies to get accessories and such but Apple stores need to find some kind of way to at least acknowledge new customers that walk-in for assistance. read more

This review is about the staff not the product. Apple products ROCK! but the staff here sucks. They are uneducated on the products and lack the common sense enough to say so. They try to bullshit their way through a product question, which is worse. It is better for the customer if the staff simply says, "I don't know, but I'll find out for you." They basically cop an attitude then lie or make excuses. If you know what you want the place is fine to pickup a product. Don't ask them a question. Once it was my turn at the Genius Bar (15 minutes after my scheduled appointment) I received friendly and effective customer service. It was frustrating to be "left hanging" waiting for someone to approach me after checking in at the Genius Bar. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by to see if we could each purchase a MacBook Pro. I had little to no hope on actually getting my hands on one. There are two separate lines. One for appointments and the other is just a "regular line." If you're planning on just stopping by, make sure you know exactly what you want to purchase because you will have to make an appointment for everything else. My Macbook has now broken four different times (four separate issues as well mind you), all were billed as "regular product defaults", i.e. not my fault. One of the breakdowns was from "graphic distortion" on my screen. The computer was unusable with this problem, which incidentally, cost $700 to fix, and a lot of people apparently have had issues with, according to the genius bar. Still, I would have to pay if I wanted to use my computer again. After three phone calls to Apple Care, and a conversation with a very patronizing individual, I got my way and got the repair covered (mostly). Now the keyboard is not working. I have to use a replacement keyboard and am really irritated. Genius bar says it is an "electrical fault" as no damage could be found. I have to pay $180 now because this product is incompetent and continues to break, randomly. Not OK. Also my Apple Care member I spoke with on the phone about this was resoundingly unhelpful. So far, I am about $400 out of pocket due to repairs, (would have been $900 if I had to pay in full for the screen repair), on a product than is just 2 years old and cost over a grand. On 8/10/19 we went to the Apple Store in Washington Square mall. Beware of employees claiming to know what the F they are doing. Went in to trade in my iPhone 6S for an XS. Unbeknownst to me, my photos and vids were not going up to iCloud. Husband questioned tech about this as we had hundreds of photos and vids on phone, were afraid of losing. Tech was overconfident and was zipping thru steps at lightning speed, she replied yes, all was in order. However, what we think happened was she saw the setting was not engaged, clicked it on, but the upload would have taken 40+ minutes but she FORGOT THAT. Then, phone was erased. After seeing we'd lost all photos, new tech kept us there for another deafening hour+ trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it, to no avail. We finally got an "I'm sorry" with no sincerity. And it didn't appear that the offending tech was going to get reprimanded or better yet, FIRED. They didn't even offer us a credit, or give us back our old phone for free, they charged us! Two days later we are exploring how to do a data recovery. Turns out this cannot be accomplished so we have lost many, many photos and some priceless videos. So all trust in Apple is gone and we will NEVER step foot in there again. Beware! read more

I'm in the store, writing this review. I used to have lots of love for Apple products, but more and more the reliability is an issue. I have an iPhone 4 that is just out of warranty and the pins on bottom seem to have some corrosion on them. No water damage or anything else shown, wouldn't help me out at all, $150 for the replacement phone after 2.5hrs in the store. This is the 3rd iPhone I've had to replace, and i've already switched to PC laptop and tablets... Not really a store problem, but just upgrading my phone when I paid for the service replacement from 16g to 32g would have made me happy. They can't even do that. read more

3 Words. The New iPad. With technology updating literally every second, if your not up to date you might as well sign yourself up for Senior Synchronized Swimming. O_o I've had the ipad2 for awhile.. But let's face it. The cameras both are HORRIBLE. And who wants 3G? So I decided to reward myself and take a visit to everybody's favorite tech place, the Apple Store. Good thing I came in on a Thursday afternoon.. Surprisingly there was like NOBODY.. I knew what I wanted. And that was the new Ipad. I decided to fork out the extra $400 and get the 64GB and 4G. Its completely worth it.. Especially if you travel.. All in all, the new IPad is great! The front camera is still horrible and the graphics card needs to upgrade, but all in all, I'm happy. *And if you need a quality laptop I looked at the Macbook Pro for a bit and I'm thinking about selling my HP Envy for it.... read more

Buyer Beware! I was told by various carriers that if you buy an iPhone from Apple the phone is already unlocked or Apple would unlock the phone. The person I spoke with at the Apple store sternly told me that I had been uninformed and that the phone could only be unlocked by one of their appointed carriers. She was rude, unsympathetic and wasn't about to help me out one bit. I needed the phone unlocked so that I could insert and international sim card. It was an absurd all day nightmare to deal with AT&T. They will unlock your phone if they feel like it they don't have to. I spent the whole day running around the Beaverton area begging to have my iPhone unlocked. NO LUCK. No one at this Apple store will tell you that truth in that the phone is locked when you buy it and no guarantee that you will be able to get it unlocked. read more

Horrible customer service model. Purchased a charging cable online with in store pick up. The idea being that I could save some time. Been here 10 minutes and apparently they don't have anyone capable of grabbing a cable from the back. Some priority should be given to online be pickups or the point of doing it is lost. read more

Went here on my lunch break with some issues with my 5s. There are about 20 employees that are working the store with several techs that are taking care of actual phone issues. Apple products are great, but everything comes down to service and i am pleased. They quickly got me scheduled for an appointment with a technician about 20 minutes from when I walked in. I am was pleased with how friendly the staff was while i waited. There are devices everywhere for you to look at and shop around. They have 2 tables with 8 iPads that are just for the young kids who are waiting for their parents to shop. On those iPads there are tons of children's apps downloaded to keep them entertained. read more

Service is usually very slow even when employees seem to just be standing around with their device doing nothing. So yesterday all I came in for was a simple purchase of a 128gb black ipod touch and the dude said 3 minute wait which was more like a 20 minute wait with still people standing around! Like seriously how long does it take to run to the back room and grab a ipod and check out? Like five minutes!! They were nice and I got bored waiting. Disappointed. Made an online appointment to get my phone fixed. Appointments were limited. The day of my appointment I was 10 minutes late. Even though it only takes 10 min to check in and drop off your phone, their accommodation was for me to wait 45 minutes to be seen. There's got to be a better process. read more

Horrible customer service. I just spent $843 in total for my iPhone 7plus 2 days ago. I had to go back in because the first time I used the earbuds they burnt/broke. I went home and they refused to replace the earbuds and offered to let me buy a new pair. They said that i had of pulled my earbuds apart on purpose which was not the case at all. I come into the store and the soonest they can get me in is 3 days later. OK. My appointment was at 12:40 and I had to wait until 1:05 until a tech was available to see me. Problem fixed, battery replacement for $79. I'm told it will be ready at 2:30 p.m., and so I come back and am still waiting, 10 mins have gone by so far, to pick it up. Whilst waiting, instead of a pager I'm told to sit at a particular table, so I can't actually roam the store and play with stuff while I wait. Not too impressed. The last time I came here with a cracked iPad screen, because the screen had been replaced once before (I have twin 8 year old boys) -- before there were Apple Stores in Portland and when the certified Mac Store would send people to independent "fixers" -- they wouldn't touch it nor allow me to purchase a discount replacement device. I spent 30 mins explaining to several layers of management that my household owned 3 iPads, 4 iPhones and 1 Mac -- and that they should really do me a favor and let me pay for the repair. No can do. After going to the downtown Apple location to get a battery from the battery replacement program and being told they couldn't fix it due to a third party screen, I decided to come here. It was impossible for my phone to have a third party screen as I had never had anything replaced on it and bought it directly through Cricket. So I got the WSM location and was immediately helped by the very friendly staff and didn't have to wait for 30 minutes like the other location even though they were just as busy. I was helped out by Ian and he was the kindest soul! I looked around the store for an hour dinking around with everything and then my phone was done being fixed. I thought they would come out with the same excuse as the last store, but nope! Fixed without any issues! Thank you so much to all the staff, I will definitely be coming here from now on! read more

For a company that prides ones self on customer service this location has to be the worst at service. My phone which is new and is so hot to touch that the appointment taker would rather me go home with a phone that could catch fire then see if possible someone could see me. I am willing to wait. I am not asking for preferential treatment I just want a save product that I can feel safe with. I have on normal occasions had great help here and great service but today the appointment taker would rather brush me off. When asked to show me the appointment schedule app she herself is clueless to figure it out. "Genius" I think so needs some brush up on customer service and helpfulness. read more

Called and scheduled an appointment with this specific store because the technician on the phone says "they had a replacement in stock" and I was going to be getting my iPhone 7 replaced. Went in and was told I wasn't able to get the replacement because I was out of warranty even though the phone has a known bug with dropped service which is not my fault... So I went in being told one thing and was disappointed Apple didn't follow through. I had to pay to get more cloud storage so i could back up my phone to begin with so I could then get a loner phone. The tech who checked me in told me since I was late I would have to be re-qeued in the line and it would affect my wait time, but the only reason I was late was because I was waiting for an apple tech to check me in! Lots of waiting for battery service on my iPhone SE while there are a bunch of Apple people standing around chatting with each other. I was told my phone would be ready by 8 PM so I stopped by on the way to another date. No phone and absolutely no sympathy from the Apple people. I left and had to go out of town the next morning for several weeks. After a couple of calls and lots of time on hold, the manager didn't even apologize or seem to care. All he did was threaten that Apple would seize the phone if I didn't pick it up, so it's one old Vietnam Vet against all the lawyers as a Trillion Dollar company has. So, my other half's phone hasn't been charging properly. We saw the Apple Store, and we figured... why not? We went in and asked if there was anything they could do. SO incredibly HELPFUL!!! We were greeted immediately. The person who greeted us (with long, brown hair) tried to clean his phone, but he couldn't get some of it. So, we put our name on a wait list for a genius. Within minutes, Garrett came up to us and offered assistance. I like that they use a description to identify a customer, because when they come up to you saying your name, it's like they've known you all along. Lol. Anyway, Garrett was friendly, personable, and quick. He cleaned out his phone in no time, and he brought out a charger to show us that is was working well now. He, also, gave tips how to avoid it from happening again. Yay! Well, it was a great trip, and I'm glad we popped in! Thanks, Apple! read more
