Apple Store Madison Avenue didn't disappoint me today. Every employee I came in contact with was so nice and super helpful! They answered all my questions and walked me through the process to set up my new iPhone 16. I decided to buy the case, screensaver and an xtra plug because the phone comes with the power cord but no plug. For some reason my carrier gave me a discount on the plug so I saved. I spent a lot of money but they did all the work. I still have to pay Verizon a $35 connection fee! Ugh This place is super busy and I didn't think I was going to be successful because I didn't have an appointment. I didn't wait very long for the rep Maddy. She said different employees specialize that's why I had to wait for a phone rep. I'm recommending this location. You can make an appointment ahead of time; or go in and be patient until you get what you want! read more

Notwithstanding my impeccable record of courteous interactions and the absence of any prior issues since 2015, I was unjustly cast as the aggressor in an exchange provoked by your employee. The treatment I received was both unpleasant and wholly inconsistent with the standards of refinement and integrity I have long associated with Apple. I walked into this store to get an iPhone 17 Pro Max and while I was talking to a salesperson, a woman walked in and interrupted me mid sentence, as if I was invisible, and just started talking to the salesperson person. Now, the correct thing to do would have been to tell her to wait as she was with a customer. She did not do that. I waited until she was finished and told her it was kind of rude of the woman that walked in and of her for not telling her to give her a minute. She told me she did nothing wrong as that is their standard procedure. I showed her my standard procedure and I walked out. read more

This is one of the nicest Apple Stores I've ever been to. The layout is beautiful, the store is spacious and well-designed, and the product displays are thoughtfully arranged. They also carry a great selection of items -- including some accessories and configurations I haven't seen at other locations. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby! read more

After I updated my Apple TV 4k device it started crashing, just repeatedly restarting and only showing the Apple logo and sometimes a 6-digit code to go to recovery mode, but it kept restarting in its own. I went to this store to fix it by the "RUDE" Geniuses. Whoever hiring here needs to be checked btw, anyways my experience was horrible. The agent who took the Case ID: 102829507567 was extremely rude and it took him like 2 minutes to try to help me while he was googling "How to reset apple tv with remote" He was checking on google how to troubleshoot my device through the remote and when that didn't work he said I need to pay 120$ for repairs even though it was a software glitch he said I still have to pay. That's all he did and returned my device, and I checked the price for a new device same model its 129$. And after all that he canceled my appointment so I couldn't give a feedback on the store. read more

Made a Genius Bar appointment. Someone finally came to help me 30 minutes late. No apology. The person who helped me didn't even introduce himself. I had to ask him his name. I explained the problem (I had been directed there by chat support). He spoke to his superiors. He came back and said the problem could not be solved at the store, but rather I needed to call iCloud support. He said goodbye. I said, wait, what's the phone number...he was just going to leave me without any connection to the support team or how to reach them. Apple,this is seamless service and support? The chat person wasted my time and should have directed me to iCloud support (rather than send me to the store) as the information I gave her was exactly what I told the Genius Bar guy. The Genius Bar support person was aloof and didn't do basic customer care/kindness things. Apple Manager at Madison Ave: Perhaps some of your employees need basic human skill training. read more

After purchasing a new Apple keyboard for a desktop computer, I generously donated my older keyboard/mouse kit for potential recycling -- not realizing that the new keyboard is sold separately without a mouse. I returned to the 940 Madison Avenue store the next day to purchase a new mouse -- only to be told by a rude "genius" in the so-called "Genius Bar" that Apple never, ever sold keyboard/mouse kits. I assured him that they did and that I donated such a keyboard/mouse kit the previous day, but the "genius" acted as though I didn't know what I was talking about. These "geniuses" apparently know absolutely nothing about older Apple products. My advice: since no good deed goes unpunished, avoid donating anything to Apple. read more

I've purchased over ten thousand dollars worth of computers, phones and accessories from the Apple store but I was recently blindsided when they gave me case for an iPhone that didn't fit, despite me handing the phone to the instore representative and describing it exactly. When I returned to show them the cracks in each of the four corners of the case (not to mention inability to access the silence button with the cover they provided), they would not accept the incorrect case for return. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I had to deal ,with that bearded overweight Apple employee jerk myself and he was completely dismissive and refused to help and basically was threatening standing way too close to me and kept waving his hands in my face back and forth which was ridiculous. Rude and insolent this person should never be able to work for Apple and something needs to be done. I have noticed this employee in other complaints by valued consumers and this needs to be rectified immediately. Get rid of this low life already and find someone who respects people. I went to get a battery replacement on my iPhone. They told me there was a problem with my phone that required a $550 repair. Otherwise, they couldn't change the battery since my phone might die. I said the phone didn't have any issues, but they said the test said it did. I went to a third party store down the street and they replaced the battery. Zero issues and it's been a month. They just want to scam you out of your money at this store. read more

The experience was not good. I wanted to exchange an iPad within the return window. There was a lack of continuity in the service and the whole thing took an hour and a half. I was helped by an inexperienced person then a Manager. Then I was transferred to someone to help me upload data to the cloud. Once done, the Manager was gone. I had to wait in line again after being there a hour. I was then helped. Then abandoned. Then a trainee was sent to process the return. A new manager assisted him. I ended up buying new iPad Air on Amazon while in the Apple Store. If I had to do it all over again I would have kept my old device and replaced the battery. read more

Just awful! If I could give zero stars I would. The store has caused more chaos for me than I can believe. I brought my phone in for a simple cracked screen repair yesterday. After leaving the phone with the technicians, I came back three hours later to pick it up. I was immediately unable to get into my apps because suddenly, Face ID was no longer working. I asked the technician why this was the case, and, with a clueless expression, he reassured me that once I got home, the "stolen device protection lock" would release and I would be able to use Face ID. This did not happen, so I then spent two hours on the phone with Apple. I was told by the master technician with whom I spoke that there was an error made on the part of the technician that changed my screen at the UES store, and I needed to go back to the Apple Store. So once again at 9am this morning, I went back to the store and left my phone for repairs. Two hours later I came to pick up my phone to find they claimed it was a software issue and not their fault. They had done a full reset on the phone, including shutting off my cell service, and I needed to now go to Verizon to reactivate my phone. I questioned them multiple times about how all of this could have happened since this was NOT an issue before I dropped the phone off, and they refused to accept responsibility. Instead, the tech who gave me my phone was patronizing and told me to "take a deep breath and calm down " I now have to spend the rest of my day at the Verizon store and then downloading all of my apps. Given that this is also a work phone, I have now lost very important text message communications with clients. If I can give you any advice., It is to never, ever trust this store with your phone. They are incompetent, rude, condescending, and do not take responsibility when they have made a clear error read more

I just went here to purchase wired headphones after using wired headphones for a long time and the left earbud would work but the right one wouldn't work. The salesperson asked if I had my receipt but I told her no and she said that the next time that I have a problem with my earbuds that I should go to the Genius Bar and they will help me. My battery health has significantly degraded and my phone says it needs to be serviced. I have apple care. Made an appointment at 4:10 only to be seen at 4:30 to be told they are not same day service. I made the appointment the day before. I trekked all the way there in the rain. Generally, I love the store. It is open and bright and clean. But of course, there is always something! I went in to buy an OtterBox for a new iPad Pro that I just bought. There were two men, one named Alfredo, and I was told he was a team leader. He was leaning on the banister at the staircase leading downstairs Yawning constantly without the decency to cover his mouth. I told him I would like to buy an OtterBox. He said "we don't sell them". Fortunately for me before I could turn around and walk out the man with whom he was speaking, said "yes we do" he told him how to find it on his iPad and he sent for it to be brought up. It took an interminably long time, something I had never encountered in any of my purchases in the upper Eastside store. He told me it was the last one they had and he tried to clean it with something. He did not offer any discount for it and since I had just purchased a very expensive iPad Pro, I purchased the cover. I wanted to give feedback on the service I received at this Apple Store. But wait, I did not get any service after 45 minutes of being ignored on Saturday 6/8. My adult daughter had already been rebuffed by a surly sales person for the sin of asking a product question deemed too unsophisticated. She sat sadly in the corner when I met her. I came to meet her to explore upgrade options for her vintage Mac as they call it at apple. I myself am suffering from a fading iPhone battery. We navigated Mac options on our own and many sales eyes avoided direct contact. A cluster of apple employees huddled in the corner to avoid the majority of customers. I felt the ire of Steve Jobs looking down from heaven while thousands of dollars stayed safely in my checking account. Will limp along with frequent charges and slow Mac response times. read more

I guess I went to a different Apple Store than the other people who had a bad experience. I got an appointment for the next day after my mbp went down. Showed up for my 1:45 appt and waited 10 min to be served, a reasonable amount of time for me. Took about 10 min to go through my issue. The tech did a great job and estimated it would take 3-5 days to do repair (cracked screen). Later that evening I got an email saying it was ready for pickup. I've been an Apple user for over 40 years and other than the dark days when Steve was out, I have always had good experiences with the hardware and service from the company. I needed a new phone and this was the only store that had appointments available. There was a line but it was organized and the wait wasn't bad. The sales person that helped me was great. She walked me thru the entire process of picking out the phone and then transferring my old one to the new one. Super accommodating as it was towards them getting ready to close up and she made sure everything was done before I left. read more

I went in to buy an off the rack pair of ear buds and when I walked in to ask where they were, the guy in front practically yells "You Need to Wait in Line Like Everyone Else." I was pretty taken aback and stood for twenty minutes waiting to be helped by someone who seemed completely frazzled and on edge. He showed me the way to earbuds and disappeared. I walked around looking for someone to make a purchase and another employer approaches and very condescendingly asks "Can I heeelp you?" When I told him I was trying to purchase earbuds he said, disapprovingly, "You need to wait for the specialist"...the one who disappeared. So instead of waiting around for another half hour to make a purchase and check out, I just left. The staff of this store treats customers like a huge imposition when they're trying to make a purchase. Shop somewhere else - the 2ish star rating for this awful location speaks for itself. read more

I used to love the Apple Store but it has gone downhill in recent years. The Genius Bar is not what it used to be. I wanted a new battery for my iPhone and they told me it would be $69 but that they didn't think it would help my battery life, even though they told me it was only operating at 88% health. I was happy to pay but then a manager came over and again told me it wouldn't help. I was very put off - I just wanted to buy the battery and they treated me like an idiot who didn't know what they were doing. If this store gets overall 2.5 stars, there is a reason. I had a problem with my phone and went to this store. I was talking with a representative when another one interrupted the conversation. The first woman tried to explain my problem to the second one. She quickly dismissed me and stated to go to charge my cell to see if it worked to "see that station?" without explaining how to do. I went back and she then explained it annoyed and barely looking at me. I tried to charge it, without knowing how long could it take, and then I stopped the 3rd representative, and he quickly responded "if doesnt charge it is dead" (can anyone say how long would it take to charge it? seconds? minutes?) BUT he didnt have time to solve the problem I stopped another one "I am sorry I am not here for this" I searched for another representative, explained for the 5th times the problem, her answer was "But do you want to buy a new phone? Ok, I will ask someone to come and help you. It will take 20 min" I left. I went to Apple store 5th avenue. Everything was done in 30 minutes. Apple: if a store gets 2.5 stars (or less), close it. Or try to choose better employees not annoyed, lazy, not competent people. read more

My husband walked from Hudson Yards to this store during a pandemic to make an appointment that was scheduled over the phone. The store refused to honor the appointment unless we could produce the confirmation email that was accessible at the time due to the broken phone. He was turned away at the door after wasting almost two hours in the scheduling, commute, and discussion of this appointment. We were able to access the confirmation email only after the denial of services. The employee at the door was not at all able to assist us in any way and denied any responsibility from Apple as far as the loss of the appointment time or regarding the store's inability to communicate with Apple's phone services.
