august 28th to be exactly. i went to buy a iphone at apple suburban square. i walked at 9:00 am . three of the employees were unable to help me in my intention to finance my iphone. so i went to panera bread and i decided to do it myself . i had so many problems with apple because the iphone they offered me was sold out . i went back on september 4th i spoke with the supervisor . worse services . now my iphone was stolen in the shipping and apple is deniying any responsability . inconpetence watch out with apple card finance !!! read more

She told me they had no available appointments for a week. She then suggested I just walk into a store and hope to goodness I get a nice person. I just wanted to write a review for the employee who helped me get a new laptop. Her name is Regina. I came to the Apple Store with just enough money for what I was quoted to get new hardware on a MacBook. I was very anxious because when I initially spoke to her, she was trying to tell me that a little more money could get me a new laptop, but I didn't understand and thought that I would have to spend a lot more than I actually had. After finding out that I was going to school, Regina helped me get a brand new MacBook for only less than a hundred extra dollars than what I would've needed for the repairs I originally wanted. I wanted to explain the backstory, but all of this to say that not only did Regina help me get an incredible deal in terms of being able to get a working laptop for school, but she was very empathetic, as at some point in the process I did say that I felt Apple was just trying to get more money from me, and her by proxy. She could've been rude to me, or unkind, or unhelpful. I had to apologize because of how incredible she was and how much effort she put into finding a solution for me. She treated me with so much empathy. I have, actually, never forgotten her. read more

I just wanted to write a great review about Zach at Apple Ardmore. I stopped in for a genius bar appointment and his kindness and ability to guide me was amazing. He was being bombarded by multiple customers as he tried to navigate my appointment and he handled the customers very well. I've encountered him before on the sales floor and he was EXTREMELY helpful, allowing me to get in and out with the product that I purchased. I'm well aware that many people stop in the store believing the Apple employees are miracle workers , but that's very unrealistic. Zach has helped me both times to the best of his ability and that is a rarity in Apple Stores. read more

I stopped in during a phone crisis and was told I needed an appt so set it for 2 days later. This Genius Bar appt. was seeking guidance re: either fixing the screen or purchasing a new phone. The deciding factor was whether or not I could even retrieve anything from the cloud and how long back it was backed up. Assigned to repair tech Zack, I asked if there was a way to see what the last synched or saved items on the cloud would be and he looked at me like it was a dumb question and said NO. During our discussion he was aloof and when I would ask questions, he was either short with me or would look around the room (and sometimes not answer) like I was wasting his time. I suspected his answer to my question re: seeing my last ICloud synch on my Ipad wasn't true (and found out later that it indeed wasn't) but he was the one in control here and was starting to get an attitude which was very uncomfortable. I wanted to buy a new phone but since he was misleading me into believing that the only way to get my data was to fix the screen (perhaps he has a quota to fill on repairs?)... I said "fine, fix the screen." I said "so if we fix the screen, the phone will divert back to where it was?" Again.... he looked at me like it was a dumb question and said "uhhh... YEAH." Also untrue, as I found out later. The lack of proper customer service and empathy skills during a time of crisis like this (losing data, being without a phone) had me in tears when I was leaving. Although now I realize that maybe he just isn't skilled enough for this job so his arrogance was a way to try to cover up this lack of knowledge. I was told it would take 3 hours so I waited in the area and tried to find errands to run. It took FOUR hours (the last hour was spent waiting at the store) to find that it didn't do anything and the phone wasn't salvageable and I had to buy a new one anyway. I was FURIOUS. If he had answered my questions accurately, I would have just bought a new phone. Which I then had to do. Then, the helpful phone salesperson Farrah showed me that I was indeed correct and I could have viewed the last backed up items on my Ipad I brough like I had originally asked Zack and he told me it wasn't possible. I was there a total of 5.75 hours and had to buy a new phone. I was OK with buying a new phone (at 10 am, not 5 hours later!) but his lack of knowledge (or lies to fill a repair quota...unsure which) and the frustration of the attitude and the loss of a full day as a result... is not something I'd wish on anyone. It was a painful experience. Salesperson Farrah and the female manager (forgot her name) were both extremely kind and helpful and tried to smooth things over...which is why this is 2 stars instead of 1. I was upset and exhausted at this point. Farrah was empathetic and knowledgeable and very helpful but she was juggling me with 3 other customers. She'd help with one step and walk away... I know this is the store's system to keep people in the store. But for what we pay for an Iphone, it's demeaning. The chaos there (even if you have an appointment, it's not clear where to go when you come in and I was wandering)... is unsettling. And the juggling of customers gives the message that our time isn't valuable. read more

This Apple store in Suburban Square Ardmore, PA currently uses a security company to manage customers coming to the store. Anywhere from three to six men, stand in front of the store using authority to move people around. These men do not understand Apple products, services, or customer service, yet they are the first point of contact for customers, so should be greeting people politely and not behave like intimidating bouncers. I went to the Suburban Square store for a follow up service and was met by three security staff that used intimidation to control the customers in front of the store. These guards selectively allowed some customers to wait inside of the store "to get out of the cold" and others to wait outside in 30f weather. A bit of background: on 2/06/2021 I waited outside this store and spoke to a greeter/guard about a cracked Belkin screen protector (purchased at this store and installed by Apple). The greeter confirmed the product is covered by warranty and gave me instructions and phone number to call Belkin for a replacement. I was supposed to bring replacement back to store to "easily and quickly" have it placed on my phone. I specifically asked whether I would need another appointment and the man/greeter/guard said not necessary for the second visit, On the phone, Belkin told me this screen package should not be opened, simply brought to Apple to open and install. Following Apple's instructions, Belkin package in hand, I returned to the Suburban Square store around 10AM in the morning of 2/12/2021 and explained why I was back. Over 40 minutes standing in freezing temperature, I spoke to four guards, including "the man in charge" trying to convince them I was telling the truth. They did not listen and told me that Apple does not install protectors and cannot help with third party aftermarket products. I explained multiple times this screen was sold to me by this store and ONLY this store can install the replacement, and I was simply following instructions given to me by Apple. They proudly announced they are not employed by Apple. The guards yelled and told me Apple could not help me. They cursed at me and said they wanted me to go away. Standing outside the store, I called Apple customer service and let them hear the guards yelling at me. The manager on the phone cannot reach the store manager to come help me. I ask the guards if I can explain this to an Apple employee and they would not allow it. The guards create a circle amongst themselves, talk about me loudly, look and at me intimidatingly, laugh amongst themselves, fist bump each other, and tell me to stand elsewhere. The tactics these six men used toward one female customer shows they were looking for conflict. The guard in charge asked me to wait outside and give him my phone and screen protector box so he could "see what he might be able to do" inside the store. This request to hand over your phone and screen package over to a man that was part of the group yelling and mocking me was completely absurd. There are security cameras in front of this store that will corroborate my story. I was left cold, shaking, and find this experience unbelievable. It was ridiculous I was put in the position to convince these guys that I was there for a legitimate service. Ultimately, Apple service was able to clarify and offer an appointment to apply screen protector. In the store I spoke to manager (Matt I think) and told him what happened to me at the door, His apathetic smirk showed the security guards' behavior is not only condoned but likely supported by the employees in this Apple store. I encountered seven men paid by Apple in this whole ordeal. read more

Please provide your younger staff members with lessons in professionalism. They need to understand what kinds of behaviors well-heeled customers expect and the level of service that this client-base expects. And they also need to be able to speak articulately about the products, which multiple people could not do. Pleasant staff members, but need a much higher level of professionalism. What's okay at McDonald's isn't okay at a high-end tech retailer. I remember the days when Apple hired tech nerds to staff their stores. They were able to provide clear information about the products and they were genuinely excited about the products. Now, it seems that Apple will hire anyone. I feel like, if Apple headquarters knew about how staff behave here, they would be extremely embarrassed -- Palo Alto would be embarrassed. read more

He expressed his apologies for my experience and proceeded to tell me that there was a discrepancy in cost and would honor the original quoted price, once I pick it up. I told him that was delivered to my house and I was already charged for it. After that, he said he has to call me back with more information. I was in need of a new desktop so I decided to come in to the Apple Store. The staff was rocking green shirts today for Earth Day, which was pretty cool. The manager actually came up to me and directed me to the wall while he got a staff member for me. Quickly, Ashley came over and kindly explained my options to me. She did not over sell me and actually recommended the two cheaper options to me based upon what I would be using it for. Ashley also explained Retina Display to me. I ended up actually going with that option as it would not strain my eyes. Ashley did was honest with me and did not try and hook me into buying the top thing. Last weekend my family and I traveled to the Apple Store at Suburban Square. Been there many times when both busy and slow. One daughter needed to upgrade her aging phone. The other was having issues with her airpods. We split up. I went with my younger daughter as her transaction was going to be expensive... The Apple employee (AE) who waited on us was named Jamal. He started out his customer service...by telling us he'd be leaving in 20 minutes. Figuring we _might_ take longer than that, I nicely asked if he'd rather pass us onto to another AE so he could leave on time. "No" came his curt reply. Ok then. No "thanks for your offer" or anything. Moving on, he told my daughter what colors and storages were available. Picked our choices. He then asked us about Apple Care and what they sell at the store. I purchased the basic service after Jamal told me that my AT&T plan "wasn't good." (I checked later and AT &T's plan was cheaper and covered everything the Apple Care+ plan covered, so I cancelled the Apple Care plan later that evening). He then asked me a question or two and realizing he couldn't understand me well behind my mask (still required wearing in the Apple Store) I pulled it out _just a bit_ so he could hear me better. "Put your face mask back up!" he snapped. Seriously. He snapped at me. I was pretty shocked but immediately let it snap back into place while saying "sorry" to him. So we're there to spend around $600 for a phone, we're all COMPLETELY vaccinated, we complied with store policy and entered the store wearing masks and KEPT THEM ON the ENTIRE TIME we were in the store, and this guy snaps at me for trying to make it easier for him to hear me at one brief point in our conversation. I was really shocked at how belligerent he was. Oh, and I should mention that I was MORE than 6 feet away from him at that time. (In fact, I stepped back as I pulled my mask out a bit!!) So needless to say, I was ticked. This "salesman" was curt and unfriendly through most of our transaction up till then. I was nice to him but it was more than obvious that he just wanted his shift to end. After he chastised me MY attitude went from trying to be friendly with this Arse to just being business-like in order to move along the transaction. I was steaming and my daughter knew it. So we bought the phone, no thanks to surly Jamal, and went over to see how my elder daughter's AE interaction was going. The guy helping her out with her airpods couldn't have been nicer. Seriously! Pleasant, laughed, was helpful. He was great. I only wish I knew his name as without my experiencing HIS customer service, this review would be ONE STAR. So if the Apple store manager happens to see this review, please know that we would never let Jamal wait on us again. He needs some better customer service training. Believe me, I've had a number of jobs throughout my lifetime where I've waited on all kinds of customers, from friendly to angry to insane but I NEVER ever treated a customer like this joker did to me. Shout out to Diamond who got my new phone set up for me yesterday. There were a few hiccups (not her fault) along the way, which she handled easily. She was great to work with! In general, think the store experience could be improved by having someone at the front door asking folks upon entry if they know they'll need sales or service so you can sign in right away. We waited about 25 minutes, maybe because we didn't sign in right away, although we walked in knowing what we wanted to buy. A wider variety of phone cases--including cases more substantial than leather and soft plastic for people who are in situations where they may drop their phones (contractors, architects and others on ladders, etc.) would be helpful. Would visit this store again. read more

Looking at the reviews it seems the service here is known to be horrible. I walked into the store excited to buy the new iPhone 16 pro max. The lady who was helping me was new, I believe, because she had assistance from other people while helping me. She was great and I appreciate her service. However, the problem came with the young man with a beanie and dreadlocks. I had to switch my service to Metro PCS, which can be a pain since it is not easily transferred like T-Mobile, at and t, or Verizon. The man seemed actively annoyed when I was asking him questions of where to find the serial number or IMEI number. I was not asking him to set up service for me, let me be clear in that, that is not his job. However simple questions like where can I find the serial number? Are you sure this is the IEMI number because the rep is saying it's incorrect? Should not be handled like it was. When I was finally finished setting up my service it was time for me to turn in my trade in. The man and the first sales woman who was helping me were standing conversing while I was asking for help, yet they were actively ignoring me. When it was time to erase my old iPhone you can tell the man was annoyed at my questions, but I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right. It's really important for these sales reps to realize why we walk into the Apple Store. We are not all tech savvy. The sales people should have more patience, professionalism and realize that customers are simply asking for help. If you don't want to do your job then don't work there. I don't know why Apple is employing people like this and why these type of passive aggressive behaviors are acceptable. However, reading the reviews next time I will take the extra 10 min to drive to KOP for better customer service. I really hope this is looked into. It was a very stressful experience and I will not be back to this location. read more

Ray was calm, clear and knowledgeable, and he genuinely wanted to solve our problems - which he did do. He also gave us super helpful suggestions and information about products and upgrades! The employees were awful and so inexperienced. we had a 1:00 appointment to get a phone battery replaced and we got there at 12:50. after we had talked to one of the employees he led us to sit down and wait. we had to wait until 1:10. then an employee arrived and we did diagnostic tests and after that we had to wait another 10 minutes. then they realized that the phone needed to be updated and the employee said this would take around 20 minutes. so we waited. and it ended up taking 35 minutes for the phone to update. then we told an employee that the update was done, and he said that someone would be over in a few minutes. then we continued to wait for about 45 minutes which included a lot of eye rolling and talking about how nobody was coming to help us,. nobody seemed to be in a rush either there was not many customers and a lot of the employees were just standing around. We finally asked an employee if there was anyone coming to help us and she said help would be over in about a few minutes. We then waited 10 minutes for an employee to come over and he told us that we would not be able to change the battery until 5. We told him that we had been here since basically 1 and that we had an appointment scheduled. He said that he would go check in the back if anyone could take us. He came back 5 minutes later and said he could take us at 3:30. we told him this wouldn't work and that we scheduled the original appointment for a specific time and that we had something very important to get to at 4, which was a kind of king drive away. He said that the reason it took so long is because one of the employees put our "ready to be seen" thing wrong and did it too late. we told him that we had to have this battery replaced because it was needed for the phone for something very important tonight. he said that the only time they could do was 3:30. So overall, we came in for a 1 o'clock appointment and needed up leaving at 2:20, with just them doing a normal update on the phone! awful customer service and too many employees just standing around not helping And bad wifi for updates to work properly. read more

Stopped by today to get a simple battery replacement. Although service was friendly, informative and overall pleasant, it took me almost an hour just to turn my phone in for service. It was quite inefficient; there were more staff members standing around to greet customers/check customers in than necessary while Genius Bar staff took long to service customers. If you plan on coming here, allot much more time than expected. My appointment was for 1:45 PM. I arrived on time but didn't receive help after checking in until about 2:15 or so. Ultimately left the store at 3:00 PM and came back at 4:30 PM to pick up my phone. Took 30 minutes to retrieve/pay afterward. The battery replacement itself took 1.5 hours which was fine. read more

Tried to return an Apple iPhone case that I purchased online. The case was ordered 15 days ago, but wasn't received until 14 days ago. The Apple policy on returns clearly states that customers have 14 days from the time they receive the item. I was returning the item in the unopened box on the 14th day and the store manager would not accept the return. This is really poor customer service from the Ardmore PA Apple Store. I called Apple when I returned home and they verified that the manager was violating the Apple return policy and should have returned my item. The online Apple representative sent me a return label and all is good now. Take home message: The Ardmore PA store has crappy service and they need a new manager ASAP! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Avoid this location at all costs, don't make the same mistakes I did. The customer service here is horrendous, once an employee actually even gets around to acknowledging you and working with you. I had a Genius Bar appointment scheduled one afternoon and came in for it, only to wait 30 minutes past my scheduled time and then to be told that I wouldn't be able to have my phone fixed while I waited and that my wait hadn't been completely useless since they had "JUST" been informed. Next time, let people know before wasting their time. So I scheduled another appointment like a dutiful customer and so far, it's 6:28pm and the appointment was for 5:40. And yes, I'm writing this review while I stand here and wait. We haven't been acknowledged once since we came in here and "checked in," which was really more of an employee telling us to stand in the back and not even asking for a name. Biggest waste of time! I came here last night to get my cracked iPhone screen repaired. It took an hour, and cost $115.00. Technically, it was all A-OK. However, I wish I could say that the staff was nice, but they weren't. Everyone seemed to be preoccupied with talking to each other, and didn't seem to care about greeting people as they entered. The staff are warm and welcoming. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was in and out. The store was steady and not overly crowded. This is a small store location located in Ardmore. It's not as busy at the King of Prussia location which is a lot bigger. If you live, work, or go to one of the universities near this location, I highly recommend it. read more

was in here yesterday 4 a routine repair of our Macbook Pro. We are an Apple family. we have like 3 macbooks, 4 iphones 2 imacs & 2 ipads spread over 2 parents & 3 kids. the genius bar & apple care is critical to us. in general, this store at suburban station, located in a spot where basically i grew up, is convenient. its next to Govberg's and there is plenty of parking, and if you have to wait, there is a Starbucks next door. Ive been in for repairs before. I have an engineering degree from Penn and have a lot of computer background going back to the 1960s, tho im mainly biotech. ive been thru every iteration of apple since the 1980s. Ive been up there recently to have our IPad replaced twice--it went dead twice out of the box and had to be replaced. no reason was given. Our macbook went dead after an update to the latest operating software. After only 3 minutes, a kid came out and refused to honor the warranty, claiming "a screw was loose on the circuit board". All that had occurred was that 3 months prior, MicroCenter had upgraded the Macbook from 4GB RAM to 16GB RAM. the computer was working fine. it just needed repair. "So you are refusing to repair this?" "Yes" "is there some written policy you are relying on in doing so? I should point out here that in addition to being trained as an engineer, i have legal and patent training. And a lot of my friends are class action plaintiffs attys" "No, i dont have any paper. There is a screw missing that a robot in Asia puts on the circuit board." By this time, I knew there was a screw loose, but it was probably in this genius bar guy's head and not in the computer, to put it politely. He had a very bad case of Asperger's. No ability to communicate. I hung around with a very hip sales guy to look at new models. He'd played hoops and we talked ball, Iverson, Compton, Rap, Philly, the usual. I got prices and models, his card, and was happy with him, but i had to go to Microcenter. When i went there, they took the macbook in for repair, no problem. And, the same computers at the Apple Store, they have at Microcenter with more storage, faster processors, better video cards, and better & larger screens, for a thousand bucks less, and their protection plans are cheaper than apple care. And, i found a huge nifty 4K TV for a ridiculous price. I bought it on the spot. I must have a screw loose somewhere. read more

I bought a brand new iPod on Apple.com and it arrived defective. I brought it into this Apple store and they were able to have a brand new one shipped to my home. Very nice customer service with my return. Only strange thing is they do not have a Maci Mini on display. I say consultant because he answered every question I needed about earbuds for working out, Mac Pro and chargers lol. He looked for the former and later quickly in the back. Unfortunately they were out of both however I appreciate his warm and friendly manner. He even checked another Apple Store for my purchase but I'm just going to wait and return to make my purchase at this location. The place was busy nevertheless I was able to get great, expedient and knowledgeable service. I love this area especially since it has a few stores I love. So it's convenient. Behold the cube of technology! As a PC Guy I'll admit I was easily intimidated by here. But my friend urgently needed a new charger for her Mac so I decided to come along for the ride. Unfortunately it happened to be on the day after the new IPhone hit the planet. So it was one big clusterfuck of a crowd! I can't really comment on the service since we were the only people in the entire building who weren't feeling the affects of IPhone fever (being out numbered 2 - 100+ is kind of intimidating). But we waited a good long while until my friend was able to flag down a friend who worked there (otherwise it probably would have taken longer). I can't picture the place always being that crowded, but I can picture it coming pretty close. It is a pretty basic equation after all - rich suburbanites + huge supply of technological gadgets = crowd. I'm inevitably getting an IPod soon though.
