This Staples has the friendliest and most helpful staff. The store manager, John, is second to none. He is always around and visible on the floor, available to help at a moments notice. Even when things are super busy (which can happen because of the arduous task of the employees having to do Amazon returns as well as man the cash registers and help customers find things), the staff remains calm and pleasant, always with a smile on their face while they are helping you. The most outstanding thing I ever witnessed was one of the employees asking a customer he was helping in the Amazon return line if he (the customer) felt okay. The employee went on to explain that he noticed when the man smiled, his smile was more pronounced on the right side than the left and the employee said they have all been trained to watch for signs of different medical conditions and he recognized this as a possible sign of a stroke so he wanted to make sure the customer was okay and didn't need help. In this world we live in...that was beyond refreshing to witness. There are still good, concerned citizens in the world and some of them work at Staples on Narberth. read more

I've never had better, quicker or more efficient services. I was just about at the end of my rope after a severe hacking. Reassured over the phone that my computer could be repaired. I remained skeptical as The Mcafee people told me (even though I have just about every protection they offer that I would need to buy more and the cost would be 750.00 A day later I received a message that my computer was fixed and ready for pickup. I didn't even know that I was still under warranty and believe me I will make sure I stay that way. Even MacAfee told me I'd have to pay another 750 bucks to have it fixed. This Staples is in the heart of Penn Valley/Narberth. First, this location is on the larger side compared to the Bryn Mawr Staples. They have tons of supplies here including a wall of different toners, arts and crafts supplies, printers, printing services, a shipping center and technology. They also sell snacks and Keurig coffee cups. Staff-wise it is a hit-or-miss. A man who I believe was the manager was very kind and helped me find everything. However, the cashier had a bit of an attitude. They have a giant parking lot here with plenty of spots. The lot is so big, that some local companies park their trucks in the back. Altogether, this Staples is located in a convenient location with a great variety of products. read more

Whenever I come for copies or lamination I always get excellent service. They are not perfect and if a mistake is made they will correct it even going so far as to give it to you free. My mother needed to send a time sensitive fax last week, and decided to come to this Staples. She informed me that she was treated dismissively, and the fax was not sent properly and pages were missing on the receiving end. Given the current sensitivity of the public health environment, I'm not happy about the fact that now my mother needs to go out again to complete a transaction that should have been done correctly the first time. Have had only positive experiences at my Staples I go to but won't go back to this location again after being generally discarded when needing some assistance offering little solution to help solve my problem. I get it...you may be busy and can't get to things right away but don't treat a paying customer like they are a bother and stamp your indifference and crappy attitude on me. This place has the friendliest, most helpful staff! If Staples isn't the first place you think of for wedding stuff (it wasn't mine either), you should seriously check them out. We are DIYing our wedding programs and Staples had an excellent selection of cardstock and the copy center will cut them in half for you really cheap. It's a little more expensive to get them cut evenly (it takes longer and is on a more precision machine), which we didn't realize the first time we went. When we noticed the half sheets weren't all the same size, we took them back. They let us return them and offered to cut us even ones free of charge, since they hadn't told us they would come out uneven on the other machine the first time. They also helped us figure out the logistics of putting together the rest of the program, based on our ideas. read more

To the reviewer who had difficulty purchasing a computer - a recent write-up in the N.Y. Times explained corporate policy. The article alleges that company employees were admonished for selling computers without a certain amount of peripherals. That failing probably tarnished the image of the chain much more than the income generated. Having said that, I agree with other reviewers that this is one of the best Staples in the area. On more than one occasion, the staff has gone out of their way to help me either find an item, or obtain an item not on the shelf. I recognize they do not dictate corporate policy, and I really want to thank them for all the times they've helped me beyond my expectations. read more

I love coming to this Staples. The guys here are very nice. I am a teacher, and I must spend $500 here each summer, buying everything I need for my classroom. I have been in this Staples a few times and witnessed difficult customers giving the staff a hard time, but they always show their customers the utmost respect and professionalism. Was at the Staples in Narberth to do the school supplies shopping for the boys this last Wednesday. What a DISASTER..... To think that this being the busiest time of the year they would have a good number of people working to assist the customers. I was told by one of the staff members that they had only 5 people on schedule at that time. I was able to count the 5 people myself. 2 at the cash registers, 1 at the computer center and 2 at the copier center. Result........no one on the floor to assist the customers. I spent over an hour at the store looking for for the supplies. Not a good way to spend your day off. Avoid the place like the plague. Better to spend a few extra dollars at Target or some other place than spend all this time at this God forsaken place. read more

I've come here to use their printing services on multiple occasions. Every time, the person behind the counter is not friendly nor eager to assist me. One time I was even told, "I'd really rather not help you. I have a lot to get done before we close tonight", as if assisting customers is not THE most important aspect of running a business. Then, I witness another employee, the manager on this particular shift, have the worst attitude in front of customers. No one would pick up a ringing phone for at least 5 minutes; finally the manager picked it up with terrible professional demeanor, then she literally slammed the phone back on the receiver, and used swear words to express her frustration. Extremely unprofessional atmosphere. Situations like this have happened on multiple occasions at this location. read more

I have been a regular shopper at this store just because it was convenient, not because it was anything special. I went to buy a computer and asked if they take checks. I was told they did and that I could pay with one if I wished. When I went to pay, they would not accept my check even though it was a completely valid check with all of the identifying information that they requested. The assistant manager said he recognized me as being a regular shopper at the store, and he did not know why they were refusing my money. I also called my bank and they had no idea why I was refused, as there was nothing wrong with my account. It was a completely embarrassing and unnecessary situation and no one could tell me why it happened. I left without the computer and ended up going to Micro Center to get my computer. Unlike Staples, I found that the staff was pleasant and very helpful, and they took my money without any problem. Sorry Staples, but you have lost a longtime customer for good. read more
