Customer service is very poor at this location. Salespeople are pleasant, but inattentive and seem to have the same knowledge of computers as me (which is not helpful). I went in ready to spend a lot of money on a new computer, and finally left after wasting more than an hour without buying anything. After my MacBook started coughing and going catatonic on me, I realized it was still under the extended warranty and beat feet to the closest Apple store where I had made an appointment at the Genius Bar. I've been here about 12 times so far and have only been annoyed with 1 visit because the lady did not want to exchange or repair my AirPods but ended up replacing them when she had someone more knowledgeable step in. Other then that the service here has always been what you expect from a Apple store. ( good or great service ) my only annoyance is parking but as far as it being busy... EVERY apple store is busy. I don't think I have ever been to a apple store that was not busy no matter what day or time so that comes with the Territory. I will continue to come here because besides 1 time I've always had great service and was never pushed into buying or treated bad. If I could give a lower rating I would. We took my daughters phone in to have the battery replaced and the clerk tried to get us to buy a new phone instead of having the battery replaced. After we opted for the battery replacement and coming back an hour and a half later he informed us the repair wasn't made because there was a third party battery in the phone. We bought the phone from Verizon and it never needed service until now so the battery in the phone is original, and couldn't be third party. Fuck you Apple and your shitty sales people. Update. I ended up purchasing a new battery online for the phone and replacing it turned out to be fairly simple. As expected when I opened the phone it was the original battery. After replacing it the phone is still going strong today. Once again, Fuck you Apple store. read more

I fucking hate this place. They were so problematic. My friends and I went to get one phone and she did her research on what type of phone she wanted and they tried to get her to buy something she wasn't comfortable with. She and I had to say NO more than four times before they would stop hassling us. The only time they stopped playing around was when our guy friend started talking. Then they proceeded to have attitudes and continued to criticize what we were buying. It was honestly a joke to them. I would pray that people who wants to save money or be cost efficient go somewhere else or they will hassle you until they get every penny out of you. read more

Terrible store with terrible communication and customer service, I took a MacBook Pro for repair with explicit instructions to not send out the computer for repair unless a backup could be made on the hard drive I provided. Of course the tech did not read the note and I got a blank computer back. No body answers the phone, ever! Even Apple support cannot get through to anyone at the store (they tried 3 times on 3 separate days). I would get a message from the store asking me to call them back and then be unable to reach anyone despite calling back numerous times. The staff are friendly in person, however. I think the issue is the store management and the way it is run. If you have access to another Apple store I would go there. The store on Walnut street is pretty good, although they seem to closed right now. read more

I am not sure what the in store experience is like but the phone experience with this specific store is awful. An employee hung up on me (was definitely not disconnected). When I called back, he wouldn't speak to me and his team lead conveniently could not find out who I could have possibly been speaking with. Save yourself the trouble and go to the King of Prussia store. Each employee there treated me like a human being and really heard the issue I was having with restoring my phone. I had already spent 3 hours on the phone that day with Apple Support and they were empathetic towards that fact. It was a hardware issue. KOP store had me in and out within 25 minutes - demonstrated serious problem solving there regarding the hardware issue and regarding logical customer service. read more

They do what they can. The attendants are always knowledgeable and friendly. They can't help that the product they peddle is overpriced and prone to randomness but...it's and I love it . They move pretty fast and always seem to have enough staff to match the volume. (I lost count at 26 today). The parking up here is random but there is a garage and several street spaces just in case. Our guy was from Louisiana and UBER helpful & although it was a trying issue we had everything worked out well. read more

I've been to this location twice this summer: once to get a cracked phone screen repaired and once to buy a new iPad. The individual employees I dealt with (a "genius" whose name I can't recall, and Jordan, the extremely personable, friendly, and knowledgable sales associate who helped me today) were all fantastic, but the overall experience was not so great. Ten years ago, shopping at an Apple Store was an extraordinary experience. Now it's a major headache. You enter the store and there's no clear indication of what you're supposed to do to actually buy a product. Eventually you identify the employee who is in charge of checking you in. Then you wait. And wait. And wait. Given the astronomical amounts of money that are being spent every hour at this store, you'd think they could hire more people, but no. You will get awesome service once someone finally talks to you, though. read more

We had a great experience thanks to Diamond who helped us choose and set up a new iPhone. We walked in with an older iPhone, was even able to get credit for the old phone, and walked out with a new phone totally ready to use. Diamond has a great personality. My husband just went into the Apple Store in suburban square as his battery has been suddenly draining (battery will read at 50% and then suddenly just die). We have AppleCare and have had this issue before, and they have always replaced the phone under AppleCare. Today he was quickly dismissed, informed that this is a known issue with some phones, and told there was no way he would get a replacement. He's now left with a phone that goes from fully functional to dead with no warning and has been told that he'll just have to deal with it. This is unacceptable and quite frankly if this is how issues will be treated, I'm not entirely sure the point of purchasing AppleCare. We've had iPhones for multiple generations now and never considered switching, but if this is the direction that quality and customer service is headed in, we'll have to seriously reconsider this time around. read more

Basically got called a liar when I went here. I went in to this location in Ardmore visiting family from my normal location in Uptown Minneapolis. I took a screen shot of the problem and because they couldn't reproduce it they wouldn't service it. Shawn helped me here and was saying it "seemed" like the screen switching from one app to another. The screen shot was of one third the screen being the clock app and the other two thirds being my lock screen. He was able to help extend my warranty for a few days so I could visit my preferred Apple Store. This was easily the worst apple experience I've had. Please avoid this store at all costs for service. Updated: I gave them one more star because when I went back in to talk with a manager he was helpful somewhat and put me in contact with a guy that could explain things better. Nevertheless, he was the busiest guy there while 7 other apple people stood around. Because of him I gave this experience two stars. I'd like to give it 2.5 in all reality. read more

I don't understand the 1 star reviews I see on here. I have been to the store a number of times for different reasons. 2 of the visits were to do screen replacements without an appointment. Despite not having an appointment, they were prompt, courteous, and timely. I have my phone back in 1 hour as promised on both occasions. Both visits happened during times when the store was very busy too, so extra points for that. Staff, on other visits, has always been helpful. I have gotten knowledgable and honest answers in most cases when I have had questions. Parking is a little difficult at times. Especially with the construction going on currently, but that isn't the store's fault...Suburban Square in general is a mess in that department at the moment... read more

I thought the process to get the new 3G iPhone was going to as horrible as folding a fitted sheet. Somehow, all the pieces weren't going to fit together and finally, I'd just shove it in the closet and forget about the thought of ever successfully folding such a clumsy, impossible bed linen. To my surprise, I had no trouble whatsoever and breezed through a short wait to later find myself serviced by a "specialist." He then got me the goods and off I went. I'm not "techy" by any means, but there's something to be said for a phone that's smarter than you are. Everything about it is uniformly pleasant. The aesthetics, the ergonomic structure, the way the screen feels on your fingers. It's seriously sexy. Even if it means jumping ship from "dead zone" territory, I recommend the phone and the Ardmore store that served it up. Go on a weekday and get there as early as possible. read more

I know I am possibly going to be considered a heretic by my fellow designers, but the mighty Macintosh has fallen. I have now resolved to join the other side....and I do not apologize for this. My decision was clinched when I had the worst retail experience last week. A couple of weeks ago, my ipod died. It was out of warranty, but not yet 3 years old. So I went to the Apple store in Suburban Square to find out my options. I was greeted at the door by the rudest of girls who definitely didn't understand the concept of personal space because she was all up in my face. She was happy to tisk tisk me for not making an appointment for the Ipod Bar, but offered to take my ipod over for a quick diagnosis (it showed that the music was playing, but no sound came out if I plugged in the auxiliary or docked it into speakers). After talking to the ipod geniuses, she brought me back my ipod and said there was nothing they could do, but they could replace it for $150. I told her i would think about it and come back I researched and researched and realized that I couldn't get another brand new 30 GB ipod for cheaper than $150 and resolved to get a new "old" ipod.... I made the appointment and went back in. Even with the appointment, you still end up waiting. So I sat at the bar and the guy delivered me the same news....its dead. Nothing to be done. So I told him I wanted a new one of my ipod like the girl mentioned and he said it was going to be $160. I mentioned the girl said the week before it was going to be $150. He said she didn't include tax, but it was going to be $160. They didn't have it in stock, so they were going to call me when it came into the store in a couple days. It was in the next day, so kudos to you apple for your quickness. I went in to pick up my new "old" ipod and was ignored by multiple staffers. People walking in behind me were getting instant help, so I was starting to get annoyed. I put on my best "help me" face and eventually I got the attention of someone. He got my ipod and then handed me off to someone else. I got rung up and the total was $170...not $150....not $160.... They had me sign this paper about the warranty. I expected since it was a new, never used ipod that it would have some sort of warranty. I asked the kid who gave me the paper and he said there was a one year warranty. I signed the contract. He then asked a coworker and they said the warranty was only 90 days. This disturbs me. I understand the ipod is older, but still I think Apple should stand behind their product longer than 90 days. I asked if I could purchase an extended warranty, but no... So I walked out feeling like I just got screwed. I spent $470 in less than 3 years on ipods. This seems unreasonable. Specifically, this store is full of kids who acted entitled. They certainly didn't know what they were talking about bc three different kids quoted three different prices. There was multiple times when I asked questions about why the ipod broke so as to avoid this issue in the future and they answered me with lots of blah blah blah that didn't make sense. I got the feeling I was getting the brush off. They didn't really know. I thought the reason people buy shiny white computers and whatnot is because there is a guarantee of superb customer service. This is not the case in ardmore. I am giving them one star because I have to and because they were recently broken into and this amuses me. When this ipod breaks, I am not going back to apple. read more

I made a big mistake by thinking that the people at this store knew what they were doing. I attempted to use the "in-store pickup" when recently replacing my wifes iPhone. I figured I could order it, pay for it, and quickly pick it up on my way home from work. Turns out the entire system is flawed and the employees at this store were so confused by the process that they didn't even attempt to assist. When I arrived to pick up the phone they told me that the order had not been processed yet and that I needed to wait for a confirmation email before even coming to the store. I never received a confirmation email and waited 2hrs before heading to the store. The idiot at the store said the hold up must be on the apple system and to come back tomorrow. Wait??? What? I did in-store pickup because it was supposed to be quick and painless. Turns out I could have just walked in and bought a phone off the shelf and it would have been much quicker. Eventually I called Apple and they told me the hold up was at the store. That someone needed to click a button on their computer system that confirmed they had the phone in stock, which they did have in stock. So after 5hrs of headaches it came down to the fact that not a single employee at this place was tech savy enough to click a button. I'll never buy anything from this store again. Management made one attempt to reach out to me to discuss my issue. When I returned their call I got another idiot person at this store who said they couldn't find the manager that called me and they were unsure if he would even be in. They didn't even ask if I wanted to leave a message. I'll stick to the Apple store at the King of Prussia mall if I decide to ever purchase from apple again. The one in Ardmore is full of clowns and not even real nerds. Real nerds would have helped me. Avoid this place. read more

Overall, great products and hit or miss Genius Bar service. In fariness, I have had 5 star genius bar experiences. Mainly for hardware problems. For software problems and glitches, they are one star at best. I decided to give them another try to fix an iphone glitch today. i was expecting nothing at that is what I got. My "genius", Darnell, was so smug and certain that my problem would be solved with a simple setting change and reset, the same one I told him I tried, that he simply wasted time. Hey, "genius", listen to the problem and dont assume it is simply a setting when I told you I had tried that. And then did it again in front of you to show you that wasnt the solution. Guess what, smug guy, if you listen you might learn something!!! Complete waste of time and completely humourous in attitude. read more

Made an appointment online for 6:50 pm for an issue my daughter was having with her phone. Upon entering the store we were not greeted by anyone and had to spend about 15 minutes looking for an employee to help us, we were finally checked in by an employee and told to wait by a table in the middle of the room and someone would be over to get us. During our hour wait for our appointment another employee did check on us twice but could not offer us any service. Needless to say we were never seen by the Genius Bar employees for our "appointment".I will never ever return to this location. read more

My last visit was with my mom. She was having problems with her iPad. It keeps freezing and restarting it didnt work. It's been replaced twice so far and she was getting really frustrated. Anyway, I was able to make an appointment at the Genius Bar the morning of and was promptly greeted when we entered the store... I've noticed this change in policy and its really useful. Anyway, the person who greeted us, Dan noticed that the Genius Bar was very busy and so he took care of the problem himself... He realized that the iPad kept freezing because the iPad was never backed up!!! Not sure how that happened, but he did it manually and all was good afterwards... Hope this lasts! Thanks Dan! It was a fun outing. I've been surprised how apple products have become so affordable - iPhones, iPads, ipad minis, the laptops and desktops, etc. And I love that they sell Bose and Jawbone speakers. And really cool beats headphones by Dr Dre. I also learned about Mac Sensei. Apparently, there is reason to go outside of the apple store for apple help. If you need to put information from you Mac onto an external hard drive, apple can't legally do that for you, but places like Mac Sensei can and will. There are a lot of things the Genius Bar is not allowed to do, so if they tell you that it's possible to do what you need but they aren't allowed to, go to Mac Sensei! read more

I am extremely pleased with my experience here! My laptop was not working all day, and wasn't charging when I tried to plug it in. I took into the store with no appointment, and even though they were completely booked, they still made time to fit me in and fixed my computer! They also gave me tips that way it wouldn't happen again, and I know what to do now in case it does happen. Great service! read more

Remember, this is a review of the store experience, not the products... Crowded, noisy, chaotic. Sure it's great that they have dozens of devices to try out, so if it's not to busy, you don't have to wait in line to try something out. the problem with the store is that the customer service personnel just aren't. We were assigned a sales-woman who knew less about the equipment than I did, and what she knew, was already prominently displayed on placards by the devices. On top of everything else, she barely spoke English which may it impossible to discuss anything that wasn't on her rehearsed script. I've been on the fence about the equipment for years. Still have some research to do on that score, but clearly, if I decide to buy an iPad or MacBook in the future, I'll just get it online. read more

They are HORRIBLE with walk-ins!!! I was actually in this store this morning, walked in, walked around playing with devices, not one associate asked if I needed assistance. I was in the store for a good 25mins until "I" finally went up to someone and said I wanted to make a purchase. Once someone finally came over, my experience and encounter was a better one because they actually knew all about the product I was requiring about. I plan to return again. So a few days ago my (going on 3yo) macbook busted while I was backing it up. Of all the moments when it could possibly happen, this was quite literally the worst. Due to the nature of my annoying external hard drive, I have to first delete the old backup before re-backing it up. So, like I said, the worst possible time - I lost just about everything. I was (am!) pretty distraught, of course. Coincidentally, I had made an appointment for Saturday to get my iPhone looked at by the folks at the Apple Store, so I brought along my mac to see what could be done. Though the iPhone appointments are pretty short, the tech who helped me with my phone fit me in immediately to talk about my computer. First, even though my laptop was out of warranty, he offered to replace my hard drive and let me keep my old one so that I could see about data recovery. (Usually, they are required to keep the old hard drive.) Second, he did a great job of communicating clearly with me about my options and allowing me to ask questions that were pretty simple but important to me. I never felt rushed even though there were others awaiting service as well. Not only did I get great assistance, I also got some empathy. read more

What can I say - I'm a hardcore Apple guy. After switching to Mac three years ago, I've never looked back. I love the sex appeal of all their products, their ease of use, but most importantly - their customer service. For a company as big as Apple is, you'd expect their customer service to be sub-par like some of the other big guys (::cough:: Walmart ::cough::). But in the short three years I've been a loyal Apple customer, I've never been let down by them. I've read reviews about this store about not being greeted when coming in, waiting longer than your appointment was scheduled, and being given up on by the Geniuses if your product is dead, but I've never experienced anything like that. A very friendly Genius once replaced my MacBook's MagSafe charger for me, no questions asked. They even replaced the keyboard on my roommate's MacBook that just stopped working one day, and his computer was two years out of warranty. Yeah, I know people out there despise Apple for many reasons, and yeah, their products may be somewhat overpriced, but hey - you get what you pay for. And if I have to spend the extra on a product that I know I'm going to absolutely love for years to come and always get reliable, friendly customer service from it, you've got my money, Apple, guaranteed. read more

Many of the employees at this location are courteous and others look at you like why are you there. Had an appointment to get my cracked phone fix. Waited about 20 mins for my Genius Bar employee. I really didn't mind waiting but what I thought was annoying was that only certain employees are "genius". The others are checking people in or the vast majority are talking, joking and playing around. Just seems like it would be beneficial to the employees and the customers to train more of the employees that are just standing around to be Genius Bar employees..it was more employees standing around than customers. 5 stars on the Genius Bar employees, phone looked brand new. 3 stars for the overall experience. read more
