Apple Store of Naperville is my usual go-to location for Apple needs. While I don't have any issues with theft thru mail... I prefer to pick up my items at the store directly. Due to being in Naperville, and the only one in the near vicinity... this location is always almost busy. Luckily, there are two parking garages within a two blocks of this store. Today, I decided to buy some AirPod Pros the day after the new iPhone 17 was released. That in inside was a very big mistake because there was a huge line for pick up orders. I arrived about an hour before the location opened. And there was a big line outside. The person at the door asked what we were looking for, and I told her that I was here to pick up an order. She pointed to the line and I was there waiting. The staff here was very good about making sure people were in the correct line. Every few minutes, someone would come out and ask each other to confirm they were here to pick up an item. Eventually...that question did become "anyone here for AirPods". I happily replied, with enthusiasm "Yes!!!". And we were pushed inside the store. Once we got inside..we had another mini line. However, luckily, they changed their mind and someone scanned my QR code and I got my item only a few minutes later. Overall, while this location is always busy... it is also always clean and I do feel safe. Sometimes, we have armed guards nearby too. I wish there was an Apple Store more west (aka: closer to my house), but until then...I will continue to visit this location. read more

It's easy to make an appointment online. Just make sure you are on time for your appointment. The tech does try and help. Went in because password wasn't working and I needed a reset. Apple required them to make me wait a certain amount of time for security which was fine. But when asking backup questions about using an external hard drive for a Mac and a windows device was told I needed to get a large drive and then have something to keep the windows data and Mac data separate. Not true. They can both be stored on the same device without the added expense of adding anything. They do offer classes here to help you learn how to use your device. They are free. Staff is friendly. If you have a device and have someone with you that doesn't have an apple device, they will loan one to that person to use for the class. read more

Apple Store..... A live version of "An Idiots Guide To Your iPhone". I always wind up having to visit every two to three years when my latest and greatest iPhone is acting up. Usually I find out my phone is out of warranty and it's time to upgrade. My 13 Pro a little over 2 years old was acting up so I looked at the 15 Pro. They were kind enough to give me the value of my trade and the cost of a new phone. They will even help you set up your new phone, while a local Verizon store will charge an additional $30.00. While I'm the owner of a new iPhone 15 Pro, I'm envious of my parents that had corded wall phone that lasted them for decades and the only upgrade needed a longer cord. read more

Walked in for appointment for my iPad and Macbook. Scheduled my appointment for laptop at 330 pm. (was 12pm when walked in and booked). was thrilled to hear that my iPad would only take a two minute wait, so I sat down at the waiting table. I waited twenty five minutes until I got up abd spoke with the gentleman who checked me in. I asked if I was supposed to give my iPad to someone or wait to be called. they informed me to wait and you will be called. I waited another 15 minutes then got up and waited for assistance by the same agent. As I waited someone else approached and asked what was needed-I informed her of the scenario and how I'm still waiting and need to go now and will come back for the 3:30 pm appointment and to please change my iPad to the same schedule as the laptop so seen at the same time. she agreed-I left. received a text from Apple with an update that my appointment moved from 3 to 1:50. came back and they let me know that it's only for the iPad not the laptop. wasting my entire afternoon and getting nothing done. not risking more incompetence from this store and going elsewhere Another day I suppose. They've improved the flow of this store with a triage system since I was last here, which is much preferable to how it was before (a staff member just had to find you). They REALLY need a disability accessible door: I could barely open that heavy thing with my cane and one hand; good luck to anyone in a wheelchair. :( The guy who addressed my issue actually guessed wrong what the problem might be but the person he sent me to figured it out so it was solved easily and they were both pleasant to work with. I went to this store with my husband as he wanted to trade in his MacBook. The store was busy when we walked in, and no one greeted us. Every employee appeared to be busy with a customer, and there was no indication of where we might check in. We walked through the store expecting to be offered assistance, but no employee took notice of us. We then took a seat and waited to be offered help, which we were not. I looked online to see if maybe we needed a reservation, and learned that it's not necessary, and the first appointment wasn't for another 3 hours. My husband again walked through the store hoping to find an employee, but they were all busy with other customers. We realized we had been there an hour and an employee overheard us talking about how long we'd been waiting. She asked if we'd checked in when we entered the store. We indicated that we saw nothing indicating we had to check in. She then called another employee over who was immediately rude and condescending. He also spent his time interrupting my husband as he tried to explain why we were there. He led us to the front of the store, pointed at another employee and told us to check in with him, and said nothing to that employee before walking away. So after an hour of waiting we would have been placed at the bottom of the waitlist. We left instead. Obviously, Apple doesn't need our business. We will not return to the Naperville Apple Store, and maybe no Apple Store again. read more

I hate doing business with a company that isn't interested in my business. To buy an iPad at my local Apple store (25 minutes away) I have to make an appointment on line. The problem is there is no way to make an online reservation except to set up a repair appointment. I want help with buying an iPad but Apple doesn't want to give it. There is no button on the store website page to click on to make an appointment. An automated Help button activated an AI voice to send me a link to make an appointment. There is no link with option to set up an appointment in the text they sent. Apple is the most arrogant company in the world, they always have been, and it continues. The only appointment I can get on line is the 30-minute $4000 Vision Pro product they are pushing at us, anything else to purchase seems impossible to schedule an appointment for. read more

I dropped my iPhone 15 off to get the back replaced because it was shattered. After 3 hours of waiting for it to supposedly be fixed, I go to pick it up. They tell me that they could not fix it because they noticed "water damage" and proceeded to put the now almost completely destroyed back on to it and handed it back saying to get a new phone. My phone is now returned in practically unusable shape and much worse than what I turned it in as. They completely obliterated my phone and said too bad. This is a review for the Genius bar. Took my iphone 12 in today, which was not turning on after a day at the water park. They ran their diagnostics, which consists of plugging my device into their own laptop, which after 10 minutes came back with "does not turn on". That was their diagnostic. I brought my phone in that would not turn on, they announced "your phone will not turn on". Thats the length of the Genius bars.. Genius! The next step was them telling me, they cannot give me any more information. They do not know why the device will not turn on, and they will not investigate further. If I could give zero stars, I would. I entered the store to exchange my new iPhone 15 Pro Max because it was freezing and closing out of apps. I drove almost 2 hours to this store because it was the closest one. The Apple Store worker said I could return my phone with a gift card and buy a new phone; since it was an online order, I could not do a direct exchange. I said yes to the gift card, and he made the mistake of returning the phone to my card instead of the gift card (I did not consent to that). The phone then became Apple's property, and they recommended I spend another ~$1500 (a total of ~$3000) to repurchase the phone until the money was returned to my card. Unfortunately, I left the store without a phone. Had my friend not come at the last minute, I would have no way to drive home. The most disappointing part was that the Apple Store worker never apologized for putting me in an unsafe position and for borderline stealing my phone. His lack of apology only added to my frustration and disappointment. This is all to say to listen to the bad reviews about this store. I was genuinely put in an unsafe position for a simple exchange, which caused way more problems. I recommend going to a different Apple Store for your issues. It's a matter of your safety and peace of mind. I will say that the manager gave me a free Belkin charger for my friend's phone because her phone was on 4% (so we could get home). But she continued to make excuses for the Apple Workers' ~$3000 mistake. ( I believe the apple worker's name was Don, but I could be wrong. Got to this Apple Store in Naperville at 10:30am because my phone was extremely hot and wouldn't come on. I was sent back and forth 4 times to my phone provider and by the time my phone was repaired it was 5:30pm . Apple Store said they couldn't assist with resetting my apple PW. Each rep gave me conflicting information about when or what could be done. Today Megan from that store called and was not even paying attention to what was being said. I really like this location! It's definitely easier to get all the help you are looking for if you follow their appointment workflow, make an appointment beforehand instead of doing a walk-in, and follow their instructions. If you do try a walk-in, your experience would probably be much more variant depending on the time of day and who you are talking to. I've done a walk-in and found my experience to be much more haphazard and time-consuming than if I had just made an appointment a few days prior. I had some sound issues with my phone, and the tech that helped me was really nice to talk to and super helpful! I was in and out within 20 minutes, but your service might be much longer depending on what you're there for. I will say in general that your service experience will definitely vary significantly depending on who you end up seeing. If you have a hard time choosing a device to purchase or need special help, I would definitely try to talk to multiple people or pay them a visit more than once if you can, as the knowledge base among the employees is definitely going to differ from person to person. Everyone I've ever experienced at the Genius Bar though about my Apple products is great and seemed fair and thorough when assessing each concern I had. They seem to be more consistent with customer service than the sales reps. They book up fast for appointments around their product drops and the holidays (which is to be expected), so I would plan a visit with an appointment if I were making a purchase or needed technical help. Otherwise, expect a herd of loud students if you're just visiting one afternoon because they seem to live at this location lol. read more

I went in less than 2 weeks ago because my Face ID no longer works (hasn't worked in a long time & same thing happened on my last phone). My carrier sent me to Apple because I have a high priced insurance plan. Was told at the Apple store that my repair was covered because I have Apple Care, however, they couldn't repair same day (I had come in with an appointment for this very issue) because they didn't have the part and would need to order it. Said it should take about a week. Get email in a few days that part is in, however, I'm now out of town. They said if I didn't come in within 1 week, part might not be there-fine, I get that. Make new appointment less than 2 weeks after original. They tell me they have the part. THEN, they tell me in the 1 week (still same month) that my APPLE CARE has expired even though I'm still paying thru Carrier & that they would now have to CHARGE me!!! They were the ones that did not have the part!! They said b/c I didn't come within the 1 week they would not honor it!!! This possibility was never mentioned at my first appointment. This is a crass money grab & I have now traveled and waited for 2 appointments to get them to back out of what they owed me. I'm so frustrated that I'm thinking of switching from Apple when I switch out my phone which will be shortly. read more

I love Apple as much as the net guy. But the concept for their stores is a nightmare. Every time I come here on the weekends or evenings, it's absolute chaos. It really feels like a big mess and no one knows what's going on. A few people greet you and then ask you to have a seat somewhere and then the waiting game begins. Expect to wait for a long time. At least you can check out the products on the tables. I also came here for the genius bar to get my battery replaced on my iPhone. The first time I came here they told me I was not eligible. But I come in a few months later and the do it with no question. I'm glad they did but kind of wished they did it the first time. Instead they wanted me to buy a brand new phone for over $500.. i asked if its due to a hardware issue and she said that even if it was a hardware issue, they don't fix it here. So what do you do? So to anyone reading this who got the same issue, if your phone stuck in apple logo loops, and then on restore and updating/restoring doesn't do anything, and error 4013 keeps popping up, that means ur hearing sensor is wet/moist. DON'T take apples BS and BUY A NEW PHONE. Blow a force of air into that top speaker part where you camera is on the front. And if that doesn't work...open the phone up, and dry that part from the inside!! You can even go to any repair place that isint apple and they will be able to fix you this shit without a problem. They were threatening to the point that I almost called the police. They threatened me physically and refused to even accept a receipt when I offered to look it up on my email. As a 50yo male I wasn't going to take the bait for a confrontation from a 20something idiot that also refused to let me speak to management. I got assistance today from Sammy and he was beyond amazing help!! He was very patient and very knowledgeable and super informed on Apple laptops and also other Apple products I had questions on. I left the store feeling relieved happy and excited to make my next Apple purchase through him. While I was speaking to Sammy my father was lucky enough to be assisted by wonderful help as well two ladies one by the name of Tay & the other was name Andre. Great lovely women that were super patient with my rather older father who has a very hard time hearing and comprehending others. He had lots of questions due to him changing from a flip phone to a Apple smart phone. All three employees were delightful and made my experience 10 times better. Prepare yourself. Even with a reservation for a repair, you're going to wait a looong time to even speak to someone. And then you'll show up at the designated time to pick up your repaired item and you'll again wait for a looong time. Another 30 minutes. They do know their stuff though, which is why I always come back. That and admittedly I have drunk from the Apple Kool-Aid and I love their products. While the idea of bringing a child with me to an Apple repair sounds like something akin to visiting the 7th circle of hades, I can't help but give them props for the kids' table with Apple products. The Apple store and its staff have the usual A+ level of friendliness and competence. However, they seem to be ignorant of their customers with mobility issues. The parking for the store is almost impossible to find open, even for people without mobility issues. Once you get into the store the only seating available is tall bar-stools which are uncomfortable and almost unmanageable for the mobility challenged. I recommend that you bring a folding chair. If you need to use the bathroom, they refer you to the Starbucks down the street. This is a reaction to the COVID-19 lockdowns which never seem to go away. I like the store since it is less than a mile from where I live and the staff is friendly, cheerful, and competent. This results in the store always being crowded. read more

I'm going to write two reviews for this store: one for business and one for personal. This is the personal review. My wife and I went into the Mainplace Apple Store a few weeks ago. We walked in on a Saturday night, and were hooked up with James, a Personal Shopping Assistant. He was great. He found out what we were wanting to do with a new computer, and then showed us how to do it. He was not pushy, he didn't try to sell us a computer that night, he just wanted to make sure we left there wanting to come back. We went back tonight and purchased a 21.5" iMac, from James. We had done our homework, and waited for the one day they have a sale: Black Friday. James didn't try to oversell us, he sold us just what we needed, nothing more. Overall excellent experience. Now for the business review. A few days after going in with my wife, I had to go in for business. I made an appointment with the business staff, and a co-worker and I met with Kim. I was not as impressed with Kim as I was with James. She didn't have the answers to some of our simple questions. She just wanted to connect us to a consultant. A week later we met with the consultant, and another staff member (Kim couldn't make it). The consultant answered a few more questions, but not some of the important ones. I now understand why more businesses don't use the Apple platform. Even though the Mac is great for personal use, and for graphics and design, they are not focused on general business use. They don't have the sales teams or the infrastructure to support a large business (non graphic) using all Macs. read more

Omg last night I was trying to read my horoscope on yahoo. I never imagined I was going to be hacked. I was so angry and upset I was arguing on the other side with some one that spoke with very heavy accent. I was repeating myself what's that? Excuse me do not understand so the hacker in my Mac book pro decided to be texting me. Writing everything he was telling me over the phone. The hacker soon requested money to take the virus away from my computer. He was so interested to know if I was alone or my husband was at home so I said to the person I thought it was an Apple expert that yes my husband was asleep. He was telling me "you said he was not home" so finally I gave the phone to my husband and he hung up on him. The hacker I talked to installed a virus so fast I could not even log off. He was scaring me that he had my bank account etc etc so my husband told me to call the police. So we did call the police an officer came and wanted to see what was happening to the computer and after being persistent he gave us the police report because the hacker was calling me unknown. Night mare. I arrived at the Apple Store at 9:00. I presented the police report to a real apple expert and he gave me an fast walk-in appointment at 10:00 he suggested to go to the bank too before my appointment to change the bank account. Thanks to MARA. She wiped off the virus!! Fixed the computer and assured me every thing was going to be ok. I was so happy that the geniuses at the Apple Store were able to fix the issue and my headache was diminishing. Apple genius you are my hero. Yay. Thank you Mara. Now a days it is so easy to try to scam people so fast if you are not careful. The hacker do not sleep. They want easy money and fast. Be CAREFUL computer users not to fall into a trap to hand in your credit card to some you think is an expert. Would rather not spend my remaining time on Earth at the Apple Store. Plan to spend 4-5 hours here. This is my fourth time to have to spend multiple hours while the employees dither. Even with an appointment, just to drop off a watch for repair was 2 hours. The manager does an excellent job of watching out for his employees and making sure that they are supported, but hang the clientelle. If the Old Orchard was not worse, I would go there. In the end, everything gets done, which is why it should get a second star. But, it will take up half of your day for a product that falls short of my (and eventually your) lifestyle. read more

Three points of contention. 1) Bought iMac in May only to discover unit was the previous years model. 2) Spent one year and five trips to this Genius Bar without defective iMac being successfully repaired. 3) Floor associates are more concerned with following their rules than assisting Customers.
