Apple Nails & Spa - Pedi with a daisy :) - Nail Salons Near Me - Placerville, California

My daughter and I had our nails done yesterday at Apple Nails, and I want to start by saying that the finished results were absolutely beautiful. Both of our nails turned out fabulous! Unfortunately, though, my experience during the service was quite uncomfortable, and I'm paying for it today with extremely sore and painful fingertips. My nail technician was a man wearing glasses. When I sat down, I explained to him that I am a massage therapist and that I am also diabetic. I specifically asked him to please be gentle and careful around my fingers and cuticles because I wanted to avoid any cuts or potential infection. Unfortunately, I felt that my concerns were not taken into consideration. His technique was extremely aggressive, and at one point I had to stop him and tell him that he was being way too rough. I even asked him if he was a carpenter or worked in construction because of how forcefully he was handling my nails. He used a very rough Dremel-type file to prep my nails and repeatedly used the tip of his thumb to press firmly around my cuticles in an attempt to separate the nail glue from my skin. The pressure was quite uncomfortable, and today my fingertips are extremely sore. I want to emphasize that the final results are beautiful, and my daughter's nails look gorgeous as well. I am very happy with how they turned out. Unfortunately, however, I feel that I had to suffer quite a bit physically to get those results. I would have gladly given a 5-star review if my technician had been more attentive to my concerns and had used a much gentler touch. I'm sharing this respectfully because I think the service could have been a much more positive experience if my request for extra care had been taken seriously. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. read more

Painless gel toenail polish removal! A spa pedicure, eyebrow wax and I'm good as new. The decor is beautiful here by the way. The gentleman who fixed my toes did an amazing job. Thank you!! read more

This is kind of a no-frills location, a bit more basic but that's not necessarily bad, I do find that they can run on the more Spendy side but there's not too many nail salons in the area. I've only had one bad experience where a younger gentleman who seemed a bit inexperienced did my nails and like within two weeks four of them broke off, they were willing to fix them, without hesitation. I find that they generally do a really good job, both on acrylics and pedicures. I definitely do recommend them as they are probably one of the best places in the Placerville area read more

Went in on Thursday April 2nd to get manicure and pedicure and this was my first time getting pretty nails with designs I've only ever had French tips before and they did an amazing job. Shout out to Leo for the amazing work on my nails I got them themed after my favorite helluva boss character named Beezlebub. Thank you guys so much for the amazing job, I will definitely be coming back. And you know they are good because I almost never leave reviews lol. read more

I LOVE it here. I have been here quite a few times and I've never had a bad experience. They do very well with doing exactly what you want, they matched my inspiration picture perfectly one time. (I'll attach photos below). The overall vibe is really nice too, i love the aesthetic of the salon. They are very available to walk ins and very kind about it. I got two full sets and two pedicures from a walk in no problem. I would recommend having an appointment though, for a guarantee of getting your nails done. Speaking of appointments, calling to make an appointment is super easy, they have amazing customer service. They also have a very wide selection of nails and the artists are talented with their designs. I would 100% recommend coming here and I will be returning always! read more

This is such an excellent nail salon and spa. I've been going for a year or two, and just this week, to their new location which is a beautiful spot, and as always, am very pleased and impressed. Mikey did my nails (a fill and new set of acrylic nails). Last visit, I had nails done and a pedicure- both fabulous. I highly recommend them. (And if you're on your way to or from Apple Hill - stop in and get "pampered"!) read more

Well, how can I express my dissatisfaction for apple nails? My husband went in two weeks ago and got a pedicure. The girl that did his pedicure penny, only massaged one like and didn't massage the other like the last few times we went there. He had a terrible service and was unhappy. We decided maybe we would give it another shot period the last time I went there.Leo did my nails and we filed them way too short. And he was very rushed. They were too preoccupied with the people coming in to get them in instead of the people that had existing appointments period I just called, because I do like the way leo does my nails. So I called to make an appointment.I was offered only five o'clock today period I did not think this was reasonable so I had somebody else call to try to get an appointment and that offered her one fifteen. When I called Joe and asked what the descriptancy was about, she told me that they could not do my nails in 1 hour. That my nails take longer my nails are midlinked.Solid color it does not take longer than an hour to do my nails. If this is how they choose to do business, I will definitely not ever go back. All the sour reviews about this place are absolutely right.I would avoid this place at all costs and give my money elsewhere read more

Annie always does such a good job! I am a little bit particular with my nails & how they look. After a few not as great manicures, I was so happy to have found this Apple Nails! It will be my forever salon as long as I live in the area. Clean, very professional & always a good experience. read more

Apple Nails & Spa - full sets acrylic & gel manicure - Nail Salons Near Me - Placerville, California

Came in yesterday afternoon with my mom for a deluxe pedicure. The quality was simply not there. No attention to detail. The lady I had hardly filed my toenails, the man who did my mom's pedicure did not appear to trim her toenails at all. There was polish on her skin I had to ask to be removed politely. The time spent on callous removal was short and rushed, did not make any noticeable difference. The last time we came in the man did my toes and I asked to have someone else this time and unfortunately nobody else was available so he had to do my mom's pedicure. I was hoping I had a one off experience with him last time but that is not the case. We've tried to give them a chance but this was the last time. Overall super disappointed. Jo and Mikey are wonderful but our experience yesterday will be our last time. read more

I asked for square. Ended up with round numbs. He couldn't have filed them shorter if he tried. I complained they were round and he said he could file them more to square. There's nothing left to file! Not offered any water. Waited so long for toes and didn't start nails until after toes. read more

First time walk in for a fill Paid extra for polish $10 During the fill bleeding burning. After rinsing hands visible blood dripping from cuticle, manicurist ignores it! Doesn't treat continues to polish! To big of a hurry! No diluted alcohol in use, sticks tea tree oil on cutical finally, dermal tool instruments reused. Pressure for a tip after, I'd give zero if I could! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon since they opened and Andy never disappoints. I take in a design and he duplicates it every time. Mikey also has done my nails and has done some amazing work. You can tell they appreciate there customers. They treat you like family. You walk in and immediately they know who you are and address you and that is so important. I've been going to Mikey, Jo, and Andy for over 8 years now. All three are fantastic, and so are the newer members of the team they've hired! Every time I walk in, I am treated as a friend, or family member, and they make a point to learn your name from your first visit! I love the new move and all of the little details! They even have a refrigerator full of water and assorted sodas, with cookies and chips to choose from on top at the front of the shop in the waiting area. I couldn't believe my luck when I stopped by and they were open on Sunday! I love that I can always set up an appointment no matter what day it is, and they'll take a walk in with minimal wait times for someone like me who tends to forget to call. Thank you for my festive nails, Jo! You did a fantastic job! I'm glad I was able to get in so quickly! Mikey, great job on the new logo design, it's perfect for our area up here in the foothills near Apple Hill! Glad to know you all, and so glad to know I have a close spot to get my nails done! read more
