Disappointing experience with David - good nails, terrible attitude I went in for a manicure and David did a solid job on my nails -- they looked really nice when he was done. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I was a little indecisive while picking colors and styles (which is pretty normal at a nail salon), but David quickly got impatient and condescending. He told me I was "confusing him" and "being difficult," which made me feel awkward and rushed the whole time. His tone was snarky and dismissive. On top of that, he wanted to charge me an extra $15 for chrome that other local places don't charge extra for. I wasn't told about the upcharge upfront, which felt shady. Overall, the service was ok but the rude attitude and surprise fees ruined it. I won't be back. read more

I usually give a lot of benefit of the doubt to businesses/services and it takes a lot for me to be unsatisfied, but Unfortunately, this was the third time I visited this establishment and was extremely disappointed in the services. My daughter and I visited for pedicures and two manicures. They tried to upsale nonstop multiple times even after I politely said no thank you. They clearly became irritated when we said no to more expensive services. Our pedicures were extremely rushed, I paid for the $50 deluxe spa pedicure, and it was rushed, she did not even clean my toenails nor did she take the time to file and buff them. I now have a little cut or area of concern on one of my little toes after leaving there. I also got a full set and the qualities/job done was horrible. I had to come home and clean it up myself because the lady working on them was clearly irritated that I was asking politely for her to touch it up. I was also unaware that gel was $15 more.. I understand prices are increasing everywhere, but I wish I was aware of that extent of increase and if the job was actually done well. Very disappointing. The parking is pretty easy to get in and out the hours are pretty good I personally like to go once when they are open they aren't super busy. The prices are pretty fair a regular pedi is about $35 and they have other options to choose from. They also offer other services such as facials and waxing too. The workers they are super nice I've had a variety of different people. Most of them are always working and cleaning up which is nice. They keep the place pretty clean they are always doing laundry someone is always cleaning the chairs and the bowl where your feet go inside. They also got a cute kids chair super cute for younger kids. read more

They are all about the money and they always want to upsell you. They talk in their own language all the time and who knows what they're saying. Most of the girls don't talk or visit while they work on you. Recently, I was there and one of the girls gave me a very dirty look and I have no idea why and she made it very obvious to me. I am very upset & disappointed on the way I was treated while I was here. I went to get my nails done I was being nice and friendly asking how the staffs day had been. When she was done putting my nail tips on I noticed one very visibly crooked. I never am the one to say anything but this time it just was very noticeable. Since I knew we were going on a trip to LA for the 4th of July week I knew it'd bug me so I let her know that it was crooked and she proceeded to grab her container with nails then slam them on the table then slam them back into her drawer. I felt humiliated and upset. I am always so kind and polite I just looked down while I could hear her speaking in her language angrily to her peers, it was very apparent she was talking about me. I was having a kinda cruddy weekend and figured I could use a quick pick me up. I called and they let me know they could fit me in for a pedicure. I arrived about 10 min later and was greeted by several of the nail techs. I chose out a color and David had a seat ready for me. This location has expanded in size since the last time I had been there but it's always seemed nice. (I had been here once before). $35 for a standard pedicure which I feel is about average pricing. David was polite and did a great job. The other nail techs said hello and checked in on me when I chose to sit and let my toes dry versus leaving and risking smudging them. I do not have a local place to get my nails on a permanent basis but just in terms of how nice they were I would def be back. The other locations throughout the county the nail techs act like they hate their jobs which makes the whole experience uncomfortable... but not here: both times the nail techs were very nice. Today was my 2nd ever visit to Livie's. My first time was about 3 weeks ago for a full set and pedicure. They did a FABULOUS job. They even offered champagne with the pedi! I returned today for a fill, and they did an amazing job and super fast! They're busy and fully staffed, which means it is easy to get in without an appointment. Don't waste your time. the only reason it's getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because the older lady at the front desk was so so sweet and helpful and they have lots of color option. I saw david and he had a horrible attitude the entire time. I went in for a full set. he was rude from the beginning and then glued tips on extremely crooked because he was very clearly trying to rush. He then proceeded to ask me if I wanted a design and I wanted polka dots. showed him a photo and asked for the exaxt design which was very minimal very small polka dots. he told me it would be $75 ($15 for the design) which I thought was absolutely insane for some dots but I would have been fine with it if I got what I wanted. after shaping my nails every single nail on my right hand was super crooked. I told him they were crooked and he proceeded to tell me "that's your fingers." I said "it's not my fingers I've never had crooked nails before so don't blame it on my fingers." in the end he tried fixing them but the shape is still terrible. then came time for the design and by this time I was done dealing with his attitude so I just said what ever. but the dots are terrible and look nothing like the photo. I didn't reAlize you could mess up polka dots but you learn something new day. I will never be back and will be going somewhere else to get my nails as the design fixed. read more

I usually had gone here for pedicures for the last couple years. Recently I had gotten an awful nail fill, and then this pedicure. As you can see in the pics- I was cut pretty bad a couple times with the nippers, and it was apparent that I was bleeding, as it was getting everywhere. I was not offered a discount. The lady that did mine, cut my toe when clipping cuticles back, and also cut my thumb on one hand and middle on the other while separating my skit from the acrylic she put on. I got French tips and... they look terrible for being literally an hour old. Would not recommend. read more

I was coerced into going here by a friend. I expressed my frustrations but this was the only place available on a Friday evening. I got a Royal pedicure which was nice, aside from being burnt 3 times. The girl did a wonderful & thorough job on my legs and feet. I did notice that they were shoving the bigger girls in the back of the Salon though. I heard one of the techs make a comment about me being a "fat girl" and immediately saw 4 other techs heads pop up , looking me up and down. Comments were made from the workers and I kept getting stared at the rest of my pedicure. Luckily my tech didn't engage or acknowledge the rude coworkers. When my nail tech was finishing up my pedicure, another tech kept throwing other people's used & wet dirty towels into the bowl below me. They were from other customer's pedicures, which kept hitting my leg and it was disgusting. It happened 3 times over the span of 5 minutes before my tech told her to stop. As far as my manicure, the other tech was really sweet and did an excellent job. She did my nails exactly how I wanted and even gave me a few ideas which were executed nicely. Although the tech on one side was screaming at a coworker and tech on the other side was giving me dirty looks the whole time, I tried to ignore them. It's a step in the right direction but still needs improvement. The actual results were nice but the attitudes and atmosphere needs major adjustments. Just because I'm not Vietnamese doesn't mean I don't understand it. I might consider coming here if I have no other options but I'll be sure to bring headphones next time so I don't have to listen to the judgemental and rude comments. Spending over $200 for services, including $40 in tips. Still over priced and a last resort but not a complete waste of money like my last visit. read more

Mikey was recommended by my sister in law. When I arrived for my appointment, he was still finishing up with someone else which was no problem because it gave me a chance to choose my color. When he started working on me it seemed like he was in a hurry. I think this was the fastest I've ever gotten dil done. I'm pretty sure it only took 30 minutes. But the dude was moving. So I guess great if you're not there to relax and really need to go. He was very sweet but the color that I chose was not what I got and I hate it. I didn't say anything while I was there because he had someone else already waiting for him and I thought maybe it was my mistake. But after checking the photos I sent my husband it was definitely not my mistake. Not sure if someone put the color back wrong and he was just grabbing from the spot or what, but I'm definitely bummed. read more

I have never felt so uncomfortable!!! I use to enjoy the service here but the ladies that use to do my nails no longer work here. My mother and I decided to try someone new since the lady always did our pedicure was still there. Let me tell you the disappointment in customer service I experienced. I got a spa pedi and dip with a gel French manicure, with in a matter of days my nails were chipping. Remind you for both and Tip I spend $150 I always give at least $15tip. My nails didn't even last a whole week. When I noticed my nails chipping after a couple days I called them to let them know the owner said when you come in will take care of you and fix remind you there were multiple nails that chipped. I explained to the owner I do not live out this way that I already went home which is 5hrs away I come to this nail salon when I am visiting, she said no problem will take care of you next time. The next time when I was in town I went into the salon and only went there because of the lady I normally go to was still there for my pedicure. As soon as I mention about my previous visit the mood changed they started talking in their language and yelling at the tech that was doing my feet. The whole time I was in there I was very uncomfortable it was unprofessional how they were dealing with the situation. I didn't understand, but when the time came to pay they said we give you $10 off. I was told they would take care of me which I assumed they would just redo my nails for free because they didn't last 3 days and as much money I spent on the dip and gel French manicure plus my pedicure I thought for sure they were going to just redo my nails for me. Of course I didn't expect to get my pedicure for free but my hands yes. I felt they should have taking care of me like what the manager said. She was the one who did it for me so there shouldn't have been a problem. I will no longer go here. It was a waste of my money. read more

The only reason I have kept going here is to see Jill, she is awesome. The salon itself has become extremely loud, and unprofessional. One of the ladies slides up and down the salon...and yes ....slides in her little slippers, checking on everyone's work, never really working herself and eating...every time...the entire time...it's so Annoying. I think she cares more about the food then the customers. They also overbook their nail techs appointments, sometimes leaving you to wait over 45 minutes. Twice I've had to leave, and rebook. Thankfully Jill and her sisters recently bought Angel Nails in Placerville. So I'm moving on. read more

At Livie nails the girls there are very rude and don't care about anything you have to say. While one lady was doing my pedicure another lady was doing my gel nails. She tried charging me $50 for a more expensive gel when I kept saying I wanted the cheaper regular gel polish that's $40, which is already pricey... While she was trying to do my nails the other lady kept telling me to pick a color, when I proceeded to try to pick a color she ripped the color book out of my hands and put it down. When I went to pay at the end they still tried to charge me $15 more than what I owed.. Overall very rude people. read more

To start with, they were nice. That's the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars. This is the only thing I do to pamper myself nowadays, and I 100% regret not going to my regular place. My friend and I sat in there for over 2 hours, we got the "Spa Pedicure", that was super short, basically no massage, and my polish and toenails are uneven. Only positive was I liked the color. I got a dip manicure, and again the only thing I liked was the color, however one of my "white" nails has pink streaks through it. Dip all over my fingers. I tried to get her to fix the shape multiple times and she didn't seem to understand what I wanted. I wanted the blue nails to have stars but I made her finish without them due to having already sat there for so long. One of the white nails have a hair in them as well. My friend got French tip acrylics, and seen in the pictures they are way too thick and the lines are HORRIBLE. On top of that, i paid more for my services than I have paid at my normal place. I tried to tell them the problems but they told me they would have to start all over and I couldn't keep sitting there. I let them know what I was unhappy with, again at the counter and she asked "how big of a tip would you like to leave" with some sass. I normally leaving feeling good after getting my nails done but I am so disappointed and upset with how much I paid, for what I left with. I almost want to take it all off.
