6/8/2018: I visited Michael Schmidt for my second hair appointment for a single, color treatment. Michael inspected my haircut and style he performed on May 4, 2018 repairing the disgusting, whacked haircut Paul Mitchell Salon did to my long hair months earlier; this appointment, Michael had to correct the hair coloring Paul Mitchell colored my hair-wrong shade. Gee~From now on, I'm visiting Michael for cutting, styling, and coloring my hair: No more whacked, "avant-garde" hair coloring or styling for me from Paul Mitchell Salons-that's a given! Anyway, I set up several, advanced, hair appointments with Michael insuring my hair remains beautifully styled and well-maintained. I just wish Michael could do Japanese hair straightening because my hair has this freaky wave half-way down from my scalp; it's just so weird how my hair is so wavy! Michael noticed my hair's the waviness on the back of my head: Michael looked like he was trying to figure a way straightening my hair without using such a drastic hair treatment process. I hope Michael will figure out a solution for my wavy hair by my next appointment! read more

I absolutely love my new style. It'll be easy to care for and style. I highly recommend setting up an appointment with Donna you will not be disappointed. read more

I am still enjoying the fabulous cut I got from Donna, the owner, a couple weeks ago. Donna very attentively listened to my description of what I wanted (and did not want). She spent time testing my hair and helped me come up with a cut after giving me lots of good options. I do not style or use products in my hair, I just scrunch wet and go. This is the first time EVER that the stylist listened to me and did not blow out my delicate curls and put sticky goo on my fine hair. I feel like this is the best hair cut I have ever had! Donna is very warm and relaxed and super cool to visit with. I felt so comfortable with her and look forward to going back. read more

This was the best salon experience! Not only did I leave looking great, but also feeling happy and light. Amazing! read more

Since my wife is a stylist at Bella Capelli, you might decide to take my comments with a grain of salt. With that in mind, here are a few things I love about Bella Capelli: - the shoulder, neck and scalp massage. This isn't just a cut; it's a full treatment. I typically walk out feeling way more relaxed after an appointment. - the atmosphere. Since the salon is located inside one of the most historic gold rush era buildings in the area (original stone work & architecture), it has an old-world charm you don't find in any of the other salons in town. - The Cozmic Cafe is located in the same building, so it's very convenient to grab a smoothie or coffee before, during or after an appointment. - My wife, Emily. (Like I said: she works here, so I figure I better include her in this list!) read more

Love, love, love Bella Capelli Salon! I had an amazing experience with Donna! She listened intently to my hair needs and I left feeling like a new person. I would definitely recommend this salon and Donna to anyone looking for a hair transformation! I will be back!!! read more

Went to get my haircut by Donna (owner) who took great deal of time consulting over text with me- much appreciated! I'm new to the area, and have gone to same person prior for over 10 years. I have had a sassy cut for years and it's so hard to find stylists that know how to cut my hair style. Donna did a great job, and the salon is so cozy. Donna took her time (ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON) and showed me my cut as she went, confirming the angles and texturizing. I look forward to my next appointment as I know each time will get better and the creativity will flourish! Color is next too! Can't wait ;) Thank you Donna‼ read more

Such an amazing salon. I have been very skeptical because of many bad experiences in the past with the way my hair takes color, especially blonde. Donna listened to my concerns and worked her magic. The color was perfect! The cut was also great, she is very knowledgeable and genuinely takes pride in her work, and so she should. I will definitely be going back! read more

See all

This was the first time I had my hair highlighted and cut at this salon. What a little gem I have found. The cut and highlights were perfection! Donna, the owner, was excellent! Felt like I walked out of a high end salon in the big city. You will not be disappointed. She listens well and can cut and color just like the picture I showed her. So happy I finally found someone with skills. read more

I love this place. Charming, cozy, comfortable. Emily is also the one to have cut my hair, and after 7 years of doing it myself, I was a little nervous. She *listened* to what I wanted and voila! Wonderful haircut. Amy has owned the salon for some time and she is a whole lot of fun as well. Gladly, I'd let either one of them near my hair. Bella Capelli is a great mix of city style and skill, but with all the charm and comfort we love of Placerville! read more

I love the atmosphere and the aveda tea it's so soothing. The ambiance is nice too, its a cozy salon with style. The head, neck and scalp massage is awesome. All the stylists I've met seem friendly and welcoming. Which is nice this is not the first Aveda concept salon I've been to. I did go to another local salon and never felt this comfortable there. I do have a personal favorite and she is the only one I have been going to for about a year now. I highly recommend Nicole Ozenne. She is amazing and is a great listener which I personally think is very important when you are trying a new cut or color. I had super long hair for a decade and let her cut my hair to just below my chin. She did a beautiful job. She does hair with such precision, I just can't say enough. So if you are going to see a stylist my personal fave is Nicole Ozenne! read more

I don't trust many people with my hair. I've gone to Amy a few times now and she is a PERFECTIONIST. She listens to everything you say, and will take the extra time to make sure your hair is exactly like you want. Unfortunately, I travel for work, and sometimes I have to get my hair done on the road because I can't wait the two weeks or so to come back here - at least this is an Aveda salon so they can call Bella Capelli for my color formula.....but I still dread straying. Relaxing atmosphere, centrally located, everyone who works there is super friendly...highly recommend! read more

Got a great cut and color with Nicole. She cut off all the dead hair that was ruined by a color job that was done almost a year ago. Then she dyed my hair back to a more natural color and now my hair looks better than ever. I got so many compliments! Thanks Nicole! read more

Found a stylist good enough to cut hair in the dark, literally. He was working on my munchkin when the power went out. Not much more difficult than cutting a bouncy preschool child's hair in the dark, especially when you are fixing a mess someone else made of that hair. Mike managed to do so. read more

This place is great! I tend to wear my hair long and untaimed so, I was a bit nervous about getting my hair cut. as it turns out, Emily was a real professional. She asked questions about what I wanted, gave me a head and shoulder massage and always asked permission before doing anything to my hair we had not talked about. The result... I still have long hair but It looks allot better. Overall I was happy with the friendly, inviting atmosphere. All the stylist were really nice and the hair cut was great. read more

Tonya was amazing! I had some sciatic issues and tension from sitting at a computer all day. She had me feeling so much better within 10 minutes of my massage. I also had her do a 30 minute facial for rosascea and it was incredible. Her massages felt better than accupuncture and the facial did not irritate my skin and had me drifting off to sleep. I would recommend going to see Tonya, best facial and massage I have ever had!!!! read more

I moved to Placerville 12 years ago and have been driving all the way to Rocklin to get my hair done this whole time. You know how it is ladies...you find a stylist that does it right, and you never want to let go. A couple of years ago, I thought I would give a salon in Placerville a try and it was horrible. I've been scared ever since to try again. But then someone I trust recommended Bella Capelli Salon. I checked out yelp first to see what other people were saying just to make sure. They had a great rating, so I made my appointment with Emily. What a GREAT experience. The girls in the salon were so friendly from the moment I walked in. They made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Emily, I hope you read this because I LOVE LOVE LOVE my cut and color!!! You did such a fantastic job! THANK YOU!! Not only did I get a great cut/color, but I had a lot of fun and some really great laughs with Emily. It was like hanging out with old friends and getting pampered at the same time. I've found my new stylist/salon. Bye bye Rocklin! read more

For $60 you'd think you'd get a blow dry with your hair cut, but no its $10 extra. The fumes are so strong in this place it made my eyes water the whole time-this advertises itself to be an upscale salon, this shouldn't be. In addition the haircut was not an expert cut. It was not what I asked for, I can't wait till it grows out and I won't be back. The place was next to empty on a Friday afrernoon - with good reason. The prices are outrageous and there were only 2 hairdressers on duty, one of them being the owner. read more

Donna is amazing! Found this salon on Yelp after not achieving the results I wanted with my last hairdresser. Donna booked dedicated time just to consult, repeatedly checked in with me during my process, and resulted in the perfect hair color and cut! read more

I really dislike doing this but I had a bad experience here. Paid $50, for a shampoo and a quick two piece hair chop. Wanted it layered, got nothing in return. Walked out confused. Won't go back - sorry. read more

I'd love to leave a proper review of their services, but when I phoned for an appointment four days ago I received an answering machine, left a message and never got a call back. I guess their business is good enough they don't need new clients. read more

I feel so lucky to have found Emily at Bella Capelli today! I felt at ease the moment I arrived at this cute salon in a historic builing on Main Street. She really takes the time to evaluate your hair and make suggestions too. She started off with a bit of aroma therapy, which I loved. Then a wonderful surprise of a neck and head massage! A relaxing shampoo, a perfectionist cut and I left a very happy camper! read more
