I have been a customer of Ashley for my facials and Grace for my hair styling for a few years and I feel so lucky to have found them! They are expertly trained and always do the best job! Thank you thank you ! read more

I can't recommend this place enough! We are going on a cruise soon and my SIL set up for my hubby to get a spray tan. Ashley, the owner fit both my SIL and her brother in for an appointment on short notice. I tan easily, so I didn't forego the experience. It was a first for hubby and my SIL is a long time customer of Ashley's. She has also done my MIL's haircut and color which also turned out great. This location is a new location but you can see how much attention is put forth in the decor and ambience in this cute salon. It took less than a half hour for my hubs to get fully tan. He has been feeling down with life changes and getting this tan done has really lifted his spirits! Something about getting tan does wonders to your soul! Plus you don't have the harmful UV rays and that awful sunburn he's prone to. He's always gotten sunburned and back to his pale white color. So, this was a complete success! Thank you, Ashley! read more

I love this salon. I not only get my hair done there by Grace or Mallory. I get facials and waxing with Ashley who has incredible hands. I recommend getting the facial with the little massage and Jennifer does incredible lashes. I get more compliments. I have not tried other people in the salon yet, but I'm sure everybody that works there and fantastic. read more

Ashley was our makeup artist for my daughter's wedding and she did an amazing job! She also did my hair. She arrived on time and was so professional! She even accommodated my friend and did her lashes ! Can't say enough about Ashley! Truly a gem! Book her now! read more

Mallory was awesome! As a client, it is always a little nerve wracking seeing a new hair stylist. I told Mallory that I was apprehensive to see someone new because last time I had, I asked to keep my length and it got chopped to sit on my shoulders. She was so understanding and proceeded with a very thorough consultation before we got started. Throughout the hair cut she consistently asked if I was looking for more to be taken off so she did not remove too much. I am so grateful for her consideration. She was so easy to talk to and had a great vibe about her. I will definitely be back to see her! read more

Amazing place with an amazing artist. Mallory got me bridal ready with fresh color for my wedding! The salon is very nice and clean, and Mallory is so skilled and explained everything she would do! My hair feels so fresh and looks beautiful!! She is truly an artist in what she does and is a gem of a human! Thank you Mallory! read more

I called the salon with a very last minute hair emergency and spoke with Ashely. She was MORE than accommodating and so so sweet. I was scheduled with Bethany for an extension removal and hair cut the next day! Bethany was phenomenal. Great conversationalist and even better stylist! She nailed the hair cut and left me leaving refreshed and more than happy with the style! I absolutely recommend this salon. If I'm ever back in town, I will 100% be returning! 10/10! read more

My daughter suggested that I get a "Woman's Blowout" for my birthday party, which was on a Saturday. She looked online for me and suggested I try La Mae Salon as they had that service and it was close to my house. It was very easy to book the day/time with Ashley. I was very nervous as I had never had just a "blowout" nor been to that salon before, but I was quickly put at ease by Ashley's professionalism. She did an outstanding job on my A-line bob, which she styled perfectly. I hate to say this, but my hair style stayed so long that I ran a brush through it and didn't have to wash it for 4 days! Please don't judge me! I was so elated to not have to worry about styling my "hair" on my birthday! Give her a try for your special day! You won't be disappointed! read more

I arrived in El Dorado County a little over a year ago, and wouldn't have thought about going to a salon being that I'm a guy. But my girlfriend recommended I check out La Mae because she knows I'm extremely picky about who cuts my hair. I wasn't disappointed. I let Ashley decide on the shape and type of cut I received, and I have to admit that it was the best hair cut I've had in a very long time. My girlfriend loves it too. says I look "hot". Thank you, La Mae Salon and Spa. Y'all are awesome! read more

I'm new to the area and was super nervous to try someone new since I've gone to the same hair stylist for years but she's too far now. I went to yelp to find a salon and this is one of the places that popped up and had availability. The appointment system is SUPER EASY so I was thankful for that. Appointment was with Grace and she was amazing! She listened to what I wanted and chatted back and forth to make sure she understood. I did a more drastic blunt bob so I was VERY nervous, especially with a new person, but I am in love! So friendly and easy to talk to and honestly a very pleasing experience. Everyone has been complimenting my new hair and I will definitely be going back for Grace. Thank you so much! read more

I am so happy to have found this place. I was in a hurry but did not tell her. She did not waste time and sat me down immediately(Thank You!), I'm very happy that she matched the medium brown perfectly. They also sell masks that she said she makes herself - of course I had to get one. The touch-up service does not come with hair styling which was fine since I was in a hurry anyway. I'm definitely returning. read more

Thank you Ashley for introducing me to all the wonderful tanning packages and lotions that you offer! Looking forward to getting pampered by you again soon and definitely going to recommend you and your salon as well! read more

My daughter and I visited today for a facial with Gabby !! It was by far the best facial we have ever had !! This is a beautiful place, clean, and so relaxing! My face is rehydrated and glowing ! My daughter who was skeptical is now a hugh fan of facials! Gabby knows what she is doing! She was professional, organized, and really knows skin care! I already booked my next appointment! Highly recommend Gabby. I am considering trying the hair care team!! read more

Holy crap! First off, Ashley is a BOSS! She's incredibly knowledgeable about what she does and makes you so unbelievably comfortable while under her care! Upon entering her salon you feel transported to a luxurious relaxing spa! Her table is comfortable and warm. I literally felt like I was wrapped up in a cocoon about to emerge a new woman! Between the high quality products she uses and Ashley's magical hands I am in AWE! Don't get me started on the mid facial upper body massage How have I gone all this time without her?!? Whether you have stubborn acne like myself or already flawless skin you can benefit from a service with Ashley!! I can't wait until my next appointment read more

Sorry Ashley, but this review goes out to Dani and Tia! I've known Tia since I was in the 2nd grade. When my plans to head up to Sacramento backfired, I figured I might as well still come up since my hotel room was paid for anyway. I tried to get an appointment with Tia but her schedule was booked. Luckily, Dani decided to add in a day last second so I managed to score an appointment with her. I asked Tia if Dani is as amazing as her. She said Dani does her hair! SOLD. I walked out of there with this gorgeous caramel ombre. It was love at first bleach. That was in February. Fast forward to this past December. Do you want to know how to tell if a stylist is amazing? A gal will plan for months to set up a time when she can get away. She'll drive two hours to get there, sit in a chair for 3, then drive back home for another two hours... just to have her hair done by the wonderful Tia. I honestly wasn't too sure of what I wanted. Did I want to get peek-a-boo highlights? Did I want to freshen up my ombre? Did I want to do something crazy creative? WHO KNOWS! BUT Tia and i decided on an ombre because it won't look as bad growing out (ombres look good forever!). We still had the color issue though. I couldn't decide on chocolate brown, purple, or blonde. Regardless, we needed to bleach first. As soon as I saw my hair after it was done processing, I fell in love... kinda. See, I'm not used to being blonde and although I loved the color, I wasn't sure I loved it on me. Tia blow dried my hair so I could get a better feel for it and I started to love it more and more. I was still a bit indecisive, though. She suggested a rock the blonde for a month, and if I still didn't love it, I could come back in a month to get it redone. I don't plan on getting it redone til late spring because I LOVE IT. ps. It's SOOOO cheap here!! The price for my ombre, trim, and the usual is 1/2 of what I used to pay in Fremont! read more

Great little salon. The owners Ashley and Pat are just the kindest, most welcoming people. The staff at the front desk are very helpful and professional and great at answering questions and directing you to the correct person for assistance. I see Ashley for my tanning and always look forward to my weekly appointments. My tans are always even and look fantastic! The prices of services here are also really affordable; I don't know of another place that offers tanning packages for what Ashley does. Ashley is also an incredible esthetician and makeup artist. She has performed many facials for me and I have never been disappointed. The microderm is my favorite. The salon also has an adorable boutique that I can't wait to see being brought back for the Fall and Holiday season. Fun clothing and accessories! This is a great place for all of your salon needs. The prices are great and staff are awesome! read more

Love this place. Everyone is so nice. And parking is great. Jen is the one who dose my hair and he is wonderful. This place is so much better then going into town or to the mall so relaxing and like I said before every one is great. read more

I used Ashely and her mother to do my hair and makeup for my bridal party for my wedding. Pros: My makeup was outstanding Affordable Both were friendly On time Cons: Ashley was very unprepared and unorganized. I put the deposit down a few months before the wedding to hold the date, at that time I sent all of the pictures she requested of myself and my brides maids. I heard nothing. I contacted her about a month before the wedding she said I would hear from her two weeks before the wedding and asked me to resend her all the pictures again, so I did. I again heard nothing. I contacted her 5 days before the wedding. At that time she had not reviewed any of the pictures I sent her on two separate occasions. She finally got it together 4 days before the wedding. when she showed up to do our hair and makeup the lady doing the hair had no clue what hairstyles we had requested. It was apparent that information was not relayed to her. She called my photographer at 11pm to obtain the address of the venue. This information had been provided to her on the application submitted requesting the quote. Would I use again?: Unfortunately yes I would. Only because my makeup was outstanding. The hair was nothing special and not really what I asked for but as I mentioned the lady doing the hair didn't know what our styles were suppose to look like. read more

I started coming in regularly to see Ashley for various waxing services and facials and it's been one of the best decisions I've made for my "self-care" in a long time. Ashley's professional, welcoming, and fun personality makes every experience relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable. The wax and skin products she uses are so gentle and effective (I have super sensitive skin and have had NO reactions whatsoever) and have seen great results from each of the services. The salon has a charming atmosphere with a cute little boutique where you can find additional items to pamper yourself a bit more :) Since seeing Ashley, we have been in and out of various public health orders and everyone at the salon has consistently followed identified guidelines to protect the health and safety of not only their clients but also themselves. I truly appreciate the professionalism everyone exhibits and always look forward to my next visit. La Mae Salon & Spa is fantastic! read more

From the first time I stepped into this salon the staff was friendly, eager to help and attentive. I have had services from the Owner Ashley, As well as Brianna. I've referred several friends here and my daughter also uses Ashley's Sunless spray tan services! #LaMaeSalon is tops in our area Updated review 10/22/17: The Salon has been updated again! Ashley (owner) keeps the salon/spa current and fresh. I love the new layout and the staff (front desk, stylists) are all so very nice and helpful. Ashley continues to resolve issue if any and provides incentives for loyal customers. I wish all small business owners had her knowledge and customer service spirit. The spray tans are also great. Perfect to get you ready for a tropical trip. My daughter also has done the sprays for homecoming and proms. read more

Ashley is a total rock star! She was so easy to work with and brought the magic to make me look incredible on my special day while I was literally on my last leg and had lost my voice from a horrible viral chest infection - yes, sick on my wedding day! But you would never have known it from how I looked. She handled the bridal parties individual looks with ease and made us all feel special and beautiful. If you are considering hiring her, then don't hesitate because she's absolutely worth it. read more

What an amazing salon! How refreshing to reach out, receive a response and have an appointment booked within hours. Amanda gave me probably the BEST haircut ever! Went to Bri for the first time to get an eyelash fill... To say AMAZING would be an understatement. My last experience at another salon was mediocre and Bri shot for the moon. Besides being personable and keeping conversation the whole time she made my eyes feel so relaxed and as if I just had little gel packs underneath. The detail and time she took to fill in my missing lashes shocked me! I opened my eyes without a tear in sight and no pain when she pulled the little bit of glue from my eyes off. I couldn't be happier with the experience and I'll be telling everyone to go to her! read more

Then there's monthly packages. read more

I am SO happy I found LaMae! I was in need of a last minute spray tan and was shocked at how many places in the city were closed, booked, just plain unavailable, or their reviews ranged from not very good to mediocre. When I found and researched LaMae, there was great reviews, the photos of their salon looked beautiful, and I felt confident about making a visit. I did a Tuesday morning walk in and at first it looked like my spray tan wasn't going to happen...but then, one woman there was SET on trying to get me in, she was concerned and helpful, and low and behold, she was able to squeeze me in with Ashley! I wish I would have caught her name, but she was so caring and sweet. When it was time for my appointment, Ashley was fast, thorough, and very nice. My tan LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!!!! Like, amazing. I will definitely be going back to LaMae. Thank you, LaMae!!! read more

I've been coming here since 2013. I see Dani every time and she just does an amazing job on my hair. I let my hair grow out about 8 inches in between full highlight sessions, and she blends it seamlessly back together again. She always picks up right where we left in conversation, like an old friend. Great atmosphere and I'm always satisfied with my hair!! read more

Wonderful facial from Ashley! Beautiful, modern salon, and very relaxing. I highly recommend checking it out!

I'm so so sad to say this :( I have been going to LaMae for months, all of the artists are so talented. However I have had multiple artists cancel on me day of, move my appointment day of, and show up late. I'm so so heartbroken but I just can't go to this salon anymore when I can't count on appointments booked weeks in advance :( read more

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my first impression with this salon. Overall, the place is very nice and welcoming, however, I felt a little awkward with my stylist and the conversations taking place. My stylist made no attempt to initiate conversation or build any type of rapport with me, which I would have liked, not necessarily a deal-breaker though. However, what turned me off was the comment my stylist made towards another guest that there is "no proof wearing masks does anything to stop the spread of COVID." Not only is this statement completely false, it's unprofessional and it is a dangerous message to send to our community. As a health care professional who works directly with COVID patients in the hospital setting, I understand how masks work and I see the impact this virus has on the patients and their families everyday. It is beyond frustrating to me that people continuously are believing and spreading misinformation like this. read more

I've been in about 5 times now. Hands down.. I love this salon!! The girls are very sweet and it's so cute and quaint. It makes me want to hang out there everyday.
