The people are rude. They want cash but don't tell you till the service is complete. I called for an appointment and the woman was screaming at over the phone (still have no idea what she was saying. Went in. They were busy. They told me to come back in an hour. When I did that they stuck someone in my spot and said they had no more time. I have tried 3 different times with these guys. My rating is a NEGATIVE ONE. We were passing through on our way to Tahoe for a week's vacation, deciding to treat ourselves and stopped in. The only good thing they did (too bad for us, but glad to take our money), was that they accepted a walk-in, despite the negative attitude. The worst job I've had on my nails EVER but my bad as I should have known by how FILTHY and unhygienic this shop seemed to be. Wish I was a health inspector undercover. Perhaps I'm just used to more professionalism and expertise of the many salons I've been to over the years in the city all these years, but certainly no excuse for the messy filth. And why requiring cash only, not reporting income? We had it on us for vacation so lucky not to be inconvenienced on that point. read more

Always accommodating as I never make appointments and just call before I arrive. They seem to follow covid protocol. They always are patient with me when deciding on color as I have a hard time deciding. I like that they don't try to chat you up too much either when you don't feel like talking. I have been to many other salons and every time I have been disappointed with the work compared to Unique Nails. I see Chi for my full sets, she's very gentle, has never damaged my cuticles, is VERY detailed, and fast too! Great service! During COVID, I felt that they were keeping everything sanitary. Only thing is that it's CASH ONLY. I had to go to CVS and buy something to get cash back. Felt like they could upgrade to a credit card machine, which would reduce the thought of COVID being on the cash that I'm handing to the women! read more

I have been to many nail salons in El Dorado county and this is by far the best! Chi is wonderful and my nails looks beautiful every time. There is no other place like it. The pedicures are amazing and relaxing and my acrylics always look on point and last forever without lifting or breaking. I have very thin natural nails and every other nail place drills through my natural nail around the cuticle but this place never does!! I am a local to Pollock Pines. I had used this salon for nearly 16 years and was one of their first customers. Recently, I went in with my mother and daughter. Typically, even with appointment, the wait is 30-45 minutes with several walk-ins being taken in before those with appointments. I know the entire staff (would discuss family etc.) and at one point was patient with the wait because of my loyalty to them even though their work had continued to become over priced and poor quality. Today, I was told I could not be helped, even after I explained I believed I had a fungus growing! Not only was there an available technician to help me (Jon), but I asked how to avoid a wait with either an appointment or a walk-in, and was told I've never had to wait courtesy of the woman who runs the salon (Hannah) very rudely!!! The customer sitting at her table yelled at me as well!! I will never use them again. Cheap products, over priced and rude to my family and I. I have used unique nails lots of times. Chi and Join are great. But the last 3 times that I have been there they are not that busy and they tell me to come back in 2 or 3 hours. The first 2 times I had to find another place. I have always been able to walk in. This last time there was someone available to start with my fill. Since me and my 6 year old couldn't sit together to get pedicures. They told me to come back in 2 hours. Plus every time I want a design I have to wait for chi to do it. To top it off I am a licensed professional and I know the law states you need to have a dirty and a clean bin. They don't. I adore join and chi but this has gotten ridiculous. Looks like I need to find a new nail shop. After the first nail salon I went to when I moved up here breached my nails up and used crap product I thought finally I found a place. But apparently not. If you want sit and get a fill that takes an hour and a half and the nails are crooked by ask means come here. But I won't again. They lost my business and the people I knows business read more

Manicures, acrylic/fiberglass nails, pedicures, eyebrow wax. I don't have many problems with acrylics coming off, if they do Hanna doesn't charge to fix them if she has put them on. This is the first negative review I've ever written. Went for a pedi & mani,. I sat down with my feet in the water & asked the girl if I could pay first so i wouldn't ruin my wet nails. I offered to pay with a debit card or check.She said cash only, which is totally ok with me but I only had 2 dollars. I asked to call my husband & he would gladly bring cash with a ten dollar tip.She said no don't call him. Said go to the pharmacy 6 doors down & get cash after she does my nails.I asked if i could get cash first so I would not ruin my wet nails.She said no your nails will be fine.They held my license while I got the money. Needless to say my nails got ruined. I know I should have been more assertive but its kinda hard when they have you in the chair. I feel it would have been better customer service if the girl would have listened to her customer. Also they should be up front about cash only & have signage as such. The girl did do a nice paint job but it got ruined.Also they have let me write checks there before & had all my personal info & none bounced. read more
