I admit it my feet are not the best. I know that and I am a person who actually attempts maintaining them. I went to one salon and the woman looked at me and said "You Have ugly feet!" It's true that I have feet that were made to perch on a tree branch rather than just walk but don''t shame me. I moved to Placerville in 2016 and I have been going to this salon since because the atmosphere is relaxed and the technicians are kind and polite. They also do an excellent job. I normally get the $45.00 pedicure and the end of the service comes with a hot stone massage. It is amazing and they are perfect when it comes to making sure that you are comfortable. The only reason why I have not given this establishment 5 stars is the parking can be brutal especially when the MacDonalds is busy. In the past 120 days I have almost been hit by impatient drivers that are racing to get into the Drive through and get their full dose artificial hamburgers and fries that will never decay but they will treat their organs like they have been dipped in Formaldehyde. Enough of that rant. This is a great place to get your pedicure. read more

I really don't understand all the negative reviews but I'll tell you first hand, I LOVE GOLDEN NAILS IN PLACERVILLE! I first came to Golden Nails back in July, while everything was shutdown during the second lockdown. I made an appointment and man they did NOT DISAPPOINT! I headed over on up to Placerville which is about 40 miles up North from Sacramento. Arrived early and was seated promptly. The owner of the salon whose name is Nikki, is so nice! Very nice and accommodating to her customers. She saw my nails and was very impressed by the work of my original nail girl back home in Sac, I explained to her that Sacramento was in lockdown and no nail salons are open at the time. She was very happy that I drove all the way up and took a chance with her. My first time there, I asked for coffin ombre and man Nikki killed it! She took her time, and made sure each nail was in shape, matched each other plus same length! She DOES NOT PLAY when it comes to her work, each nail was immaculate! She took her time and she spent almost an hour and half doing my nails. Most places, they're done with your nails within 34 to 45 minutes! Not Nikki! She makes and made sure my nails were all the same shape and length. I recently went back end of December 2020 for my second visit and she did NOT DISAPPOINT AGAIN! This time I did stilletto almond and she did such a nice job! I got that set done 12/29/20 and today as I write this review 02/15/21, I STILL have them on! Every single one! Even the first set I got done from her in the summer lasted well over a month and half! I also got my full face waxed, and it was done very nicely! To drive up 40 miles for this gem of a salon is worth it! Nice customer service and gorgeous nails, all so worth it! The salon was very clean, and the other girls working there were pleasant as well! I can't speak for the other nail techs that work there but Nikki is the ONE you wanna see! read more

I think Nikky is her name? I came in looking to get a fill, they went for her from the back, she came out almost angry that she got a costumer! Not even a hi, " what color?" That's all she asked. She was twisting my fingers terribly. I had to ask her to watch out! And then she offers to put on jewels for $10 more, I should habe known better, the jewels started to come off the next day. Just terrible service , all their tools look dirty, I hope I don't get fungus like I read on some reviews of this place. Damn it. Never going back again. read more

I went here for the first time last weekend and I had a pedicure and full set. I want to start by saying very clean salon. The guy that did my pedicure was great! I was there as a walk in for almost 3 hrs because they had a few people before me. Pedicure was great. When it came to my nails however I felt very uncomfortable because (I believe her name is Nicki) was very rough and rushing to get my nails done. She cut my fingers and then left my nails real thick. The pedicure I chose was $25 and I don't know what the full set cost was but she charged me $90. I feel a little steep but nothing I can do. My mom also went there sometime last year and they cut her with their dremel and she also got fungus. Golden Nails? More like Dirty Fungus Nails. Not only were the prices far from reasonable but now I have to pay for treatment to treat the fungus. I went to Golden Nails on a Sunday because my regular salon was closed. I wanted a fill on my acrylic nails and polish. The woman (closest station to the entrance) did an awful job. First off, her station was filthy and unorganized. I should have left right then. She proceeded to injur my finger tip with the dremel. I had to have her re-shape the nails twice because they were uneven, which seemed to irritate her. Maybe that is why she gave me a horrible paint job. My experience was not favorable. I was going in for a gel manicure but l believe the lady working on my nails was inexperienced. So I asked for a regular manicure to at least give it a shot. I had to ask many times to cut cuticles that were missed and then I ended up with too much cutting, three nicked nail beds. To achieve a nail shape, I ended up filing the nails myself. I was getting a manicure and told the lady exactly what I wanted & she said she understood but when she began did something completely different. When I confronted her she could barely communicate with me and still didn't get what I wanted. Besides this we didn't communicate at all, nor did anyone else in the salon, very awkward. I've gone to Golden Nails many times for pedicures. If you get the right person, you get a good job. That's the trick - getting the right person. Some of them are just great, others just okay and one, in particular, to be avoided at all costs! One of the great ones, Emily, did my granddaughters' nails for their birthdays (5 and 7 and their first mani-pedi's - they were so excited) and was a sweetie, throwing in free flowers. On another visit, the person who should be avoided barely greeted me and never smiled. She spoke on the phone in a loud voice in a foreign language the whole time she was "helping" me then charged me more than usual and insisted it was the right price. A little girl who was in the shop asked her mom what the woman was saying. The mom explained that the woman was speaking in a foreign language. If you can imagine, the woman never acknowledged the little girl and didn't put down the phone. I can understand the employees speaking in a foreign language in low voices and to each other but not loudly on the phone. (It would be more considerate to speak in English though.) How rude that woman was. I'll go back but will be sure never to get her again. It's amazing how one bad apple can spoil the experience. I would have given a better rating if it hadn't been for that woman. If you ever go there, I think she's the only one with medium-length hair. Anyway, you'll be able to recognize her by the loud voice. read more
