I visited Serendipity for my second visit: I brought my own mood-changing nail color which I bought via Amazon because Serendipity didn't have the nail color I wanted to wear for my upcoming housewarming/holiday celebration event . . . I had a late afternoon appointment after I had a busy morning; Serendipity is surely my zone-out, go to OHM, spacing-out, totally chilling out environment! Hah-hah-hah~Geez~I left the salon so relaxed: By the time I arrived home, I crashed and went to sleep waking up the next day! Whoa~What happened? The relaxing manicure and pedicure massage surely zoned me out into LA-LA-LAND! Thanks for being my Serendipity!

I used to love this place. I've been coming here since before Quinn took over (7ish years). We've spent many Mother's Day's and birthdays here and I even brought my wedding party here. I've always enjoyed the laid back environment and Quinn's lighthearted funny personality. I have, however, noticed that my last few manicures haven't held up as well as they have in the past. So for my most recent visit I made sure to schedule my appointment with Susan for my manicure/pedicure. I've had her in the past and I believe she does quality work. Unfortunately my appointment with her fell short. The conversation was forced and awkward. I felt like more of an imposition than a client. We were finishing up around 6:30 on a Thursday and I was the only one in the salon. They kept speaking to each other in their language and it seemed like everyone was annoyed and waiting on me to hurry up so they could go home. It is disappointing because I don't get to treat myself to these types of appointments very often. I wanted to start our Anniversary weekend on a high note, but left there feeling pretty crappy. My nails are beautiful, though they are still a little long for my taste (after my 3rd time asking her to shorten them I just felt uncomfortable asking again). I left there feeling as though I was not welcome, which was a pretty crummy feeling when you are paying for such an expensive service. I am sad to say that after all these years I will be looking for another nail salon

Nails look decent, I asked for special MM nails for Disney trip. Big issue is she nicked me really good and my finger is killing me. They need to calm down with the cuticle cutting and take s little more time and care. This causes days, even weeks of discomfort and some can get an infection.

Saw all the good reviews so decided to give this place a try, definitely regret that decision. First of all I didn't want acrylic, I wanted to get the dip powder over my natural nail but she started cutting my natural nails and it was too late to say anything. This girl kept dropping and spilling everything, and she burnt me with the electric file.The girl made my nails very crooked and the color is blotchy. There are also little black specks on some of them. The only reason I give this place two stars instead of one is because the other people were very nice and had good customer service.

So happy with the job Serendipity did fixing my nails. :)

I'm afraid the quality of service has gone down. The last two gel manicures got there lasted only two or three days before they started to chip. They said it must be my nails. I went somewhere else, got a dip manicure, and my nails still look good. read more

The place is clean and service is great, though sometimes it feels a bit rushed. One odd thing is that the price can fluctuate by $5 for the same pedicure depending on whether the husband or wife collects the payment. read more

Love love love my nails! They were very kind and the Lady who did mine was so sweet. She took her time and made sure I liked them. It was $45 for a fill. Very clean nail salon. They have changed their hours and days they are open which is Wednesday to Saturday and 9:30-6:30. You are required to make an appointment for them to see you. read more

Such a gem of a Nail Salon, the owners Quinn and Angel are amazing, so accommodating and kind. It's always a fun time, all the customers come in and get some good laughs while getting pampered. Angel does my nails and is very detailed. She is amazing. Susan and Quinn will also do mani and pedi's for my daughters and they love them both. Pricing is great for the quality you get, lots of colors to choose from. I highly recommend them. read more

I decided to try Serendipity Nails because some friends come here and Yelp has it as top in the area...it was VERY clean the owners are here every day - he is quite a kick/funny. 2 of us had each and mani and pedi with tip all was $100. They do a fine job and I will be coming back. read more

They scrubbed my feet for literally 30 seconds, nail polish flaked off within 3 days. But the kicker is when I asked her to please scrub my feet a bit more, there was a very rude snarky response from her husband "She already did". I came from EDH, so I'm not used to such poor quality. read more

This family business My parents called to make a appointment with them and they did not answer they decided to change their number without their customers knowing. They are not very good at doing nails I know go to Serenity Nails. They do a best job they write down your name and number. read more

I have not worn acrylic nails in probably 20 years. My daughter and I went to another place to have our nails done for a wedding. They were so awful! I looked like I had spoons on my fingers and all of my daughter's nails were filed uneven. I should have gone back to make them fix it but we didn't even want to bother. I decided to try Serendipity and we are so incredibly happy that we did! Susan and Peter worked on us and we could not be happier! They did such a fantastic job fixing or messes! We found our new favorite place! I guess you need to try the crappy places so you can appreciate the good ones! read more

Loved this place!! The owner did my gel and did a fantastic job, plus he's funny as heck. He really took his time and gave me a great massage, too. My grandma and I each got a pedicure and the massage was very long and relaxing. Would come back in a heartbeat!! read more

GREAT PLACE !! Serendipity is so good that I should shut my mouth & keep it a secret! I haven't had my nails done in a long long time, so Yelp was the first place I looked for recommendations. Serendipity came up highly rated & nearby right away! I read the reviews (even the 'not recommended ones) & gave it a shot. These people are great! The Owner is a friendly, talkative & funny guy. There's one big difference: The place is BIG... when most nail places are the size of a shoebox & stink like Hell. Not Serendipity - there's no overwhelming chemical smell! They have LONG Open hours too which is convenient. I wandered in on a Saturday afternoon & had a ten minute wait - and they apologized for it! The pedicure chairs face a big screen TV. The place is spotlessly clean. GO just GO !! You're gonna love them! The tiny designs they do are phenomenal! read more

Been trying to find a new place in CPark for pedis. So decided to try here. Pros- excellent long massage. Longest best massage I've had at any place. Very friendly and inviting. Not overwhelmingly busy. Good massage chairs. Cons- priced wayyyyyyy to high for the service. I get a pedi massage, scrub, paraffin, hot stones, and much more options for color at many other places for the same price. They didn't scrub my heals for more than a second, there wasn't much effort in my cuticles. There are not a lot of color options at all. All in all, Good place for simple stuff I guess, but I like the additional options I get elsewhere for the same price. read more

Peter did my nails today. Great job and attention to detail, actually put the acrylic all the way down to the cuticle! Will definitely be going back. Only complaint is that I don't like the brand of gel this color was in (kiara sky) but will be sure to try something else next time. read more

I just went here for the first time and had LeeAnne give me a basic mani-pedi. She is very quiet but was thorough. I liked all of it except the way she did the final filing on my manicure--straight across. But it isn't a deal breaker for me since I didn't get gel put on, so I can file them more at home. I will just tell her how I want it next time. They all wore masks and the shop looked clean with bags in the foot soaking bowls. I was out of there in an hour and 15 minutes, which seemed quick to me. I would return again. read more

Ok I have tried every nail place in Cameron Park and from Placerville to Orangvale. This is by far the best so far. Exceptional staff. Top quality work, excellent prices, and the patience they took all took with all my daughter's was outstanding. That's it!!! I found my new nail home. I rarely leave a negative review however I went in with my son who is 5, he also wanted a pedicure I was told no because "they don't do boys" the woman doing my pedicure put regular polish on after asking for gel, I told her it was fine and not to worry about it, she took of the regular polish and put gel on then charged me extra for that. I literally told her it was fine, plus it was her mistake that I then got charged for. To top it off my nails are already VERY chipped and I've had them for less than a week. Very disappointed, will not return. read more

Make an appointment the day before you want to go or go in when they open to get a seat. Owner was attentive and really considered the health of my nails while giving a manicure. I don't like men doing my mani and pedi's but he did an amazing job. Good conversation too! I will be making this my new spot! read more

I've had my nails done here 3 times. The owner has a dry sense of humor, which in all honesty comes across as completely rude. I walked in and asked if they had time for a walk in, he looks up and replies, "what, right now? No. Just kidding pick out your color." He's like this every time I've been there. Not cool. How about, "Hello, welcome to our shop! We'd be happy to serve you" Yesterday I went for a color change and to fix my nail that had the dipping powder chipping off. I had just had these done 6 days prior. The owners wife seemed frustrated and unable to clearly understand that I wanted her to "fix" my nail. She filed it down and it was very uneven (since the powder was chipped away only one the left side of the nail). I thought she was filing it down to repair but she got the polish out ready to paint?? I stopped her and asked if she was going to fix my nail. The husband/shop owner came over to translate and they decided to take the nail completely off and replace it. That's fine but they never considered their crappy workmanship is what made me return to their shop 6 days after getting my nails done. I never have issues with nails breaking or chipping, I get them cut really short. Not to mention, I wasn't hard on my nails during those 6 days. The wife fixed my nail and did a color change on my nails and toes. You can still see the color I just paid to have changed. I spent $33.00 to fix my nail and get a color change that again was crappy workmanship. I've learned my lesson, I won't be visiting this shop again! read more

My appointment at The Hills Nails felt incredibly rushed from start to finish... it couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. The polish was applied over my cuticles (as shown in the photos), and within just a few days it started peeling. What bothered me most was that when I politely mentioned my concerns to the owner, I was told, "Well, you got a basic manicure." To me, a basic manicure shouldn't mean rushed or sloppy. Basic doesn't mean there shouldn't be care, precision, or pride in the work. To make matters worse, after paying around $40 for the service, I was asked, "No tip?" in front of other customers. That was embarrassing and left an even worse impression. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect a manicure to be done with care and professionalism, regardless of the service level. Unfortunately, I left feeling like I was rushed through just to get to the next customer, and I won't be returning.

Even if my mother was struggling with money, making a joke like that made me uncomfortable and I didn't feel welcomed at all in the salon. Not only that, the economy has been pretty hard on the majority of Americans, so this came off as very privileged and tone-deaf to me. Nails are fun! Nobody should feel 'too broke' to doll themselves up. I got the set fixed a few days later at a different salon because I didn't want to complain to them in person. If we came too close to when the place closed, she should have just told me that, instead of changing what I wanted because she didn't feel like painting my nails. I sincerely hope this place has improved!

This is a great place to go for all your nail needs. Personally, as a guy, I'm looking for basic nail services (no color or fancy stuff) and I found that here. But, also as a guy who likes his nails to be well groomed, I have gone to just about every nail salon in the area, and have found the services that I've been given highly variable, cattle-prod rushed, and generally disappointing. At Serendipity Nails I was treated well, in a new and very clean store. The store air was fresh and clean as well - without the clinging sick-making acrylic smell. The service was friendly and the staff took their time - I felt welcome and not rushed. The quality of the services for my basic services (mani and pedi) were superb and at costs comparable to the other stores in the area. The folks here genuinely want to create and maintain a relationship with their clients - and go out of their way to be friendly and helpful - they really care. If you want a new new nail salon with very caring and accommodating owners and staff, in a brand new store (with all the modern equipment), this is the place! I love this place and will return regularly. read more

I have so many good and nice things to say. My daughter and I really appreciated being talked to. They asked us our name and had us laughing within 2 minutes. Very organized, clean, professional. Quinn and his brother are awesome. One of the most thorough pedicures I've had in a long time. I was able to have an enjoyable conversation with him. I felt like I've known him forever!
