I called here and asked if they could do a full set for my little sisters homecoming. They said yes, come at 4:30 and took my name and number. I showed up at 4:25 and the lady had acted like she had no idea I had an appointment and it was a bother that I was there. I sat down and waited. They took two people before my sister even though we had been waiting and had an actual appointment. After 40 minutes of waiting they finally took my sister. I only waited so long because it was a Sunday and they were the only people open late enough to do a full set. Here is why they really deserve a two star review. The nail tech asked "regular polish or gel?" I said gel. I knew my little sister would probably ding her fresh polish. Now.. I have been getting my nails done for years and regularly get gel polish. It is typically around $5-$10. So she finishes my sisters nails and it's nothing crazy. No designs or anything. Just two different colors. She tells me ... "Okay... $40." And I'm like "WHAT?! For THAT? You have posted that a full set is $23." She said "you got gel." I was annoyed so I just gave her my money and we walked out. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I could understand if my sister got designs but she didn't. So I called back this morning and asked .."how much does a full set with gel cost?" The guy said "$38." Now I have two questions. "Why did you charge me $40 then, and why is it so damn expensive for something so basic?" He said "Why are you mad about $2?" I told him I was very annoyed that she didn't let me know that gel colors would cost twice as much as regular polish. If it wasn't for their ridiculous prices for basic work, maybe I would have left her a tip. Thanks guys... I won't be back! read more

The staff here are nice and engaging. The environment is relaxing and peaceful. My nails were cute for the first day but began to chip the second day. I got an acrylic fill with gel polish. My pedicure was $25 and it does not include the callus remover ...they didn't scrape or anything for $25 all they did was soak my feet and put lotion on it. read more

Horrible reception So my regular place was busy so thought I would give a neighborhood place a fair shake. took one step in, a scowling man said "Yes?" and I said I would like a pedicure I noticed at least 6 empty chairs--He stares at me with a hostile expression, shakes his head, and says no time I said I thought you were open till 6:30? he says not we are booked till then no expression of sorry, or can we make an appt or anything welcoming Will never walk in that door again! local person who always tips my regular place and they love me there read more

In all honestly the place appeared nice but this is these are the worst set of nails I have received in years. (I have had my nails done consecutively for the last three years at my regular spot in Folsom, I should have never got them done in a pinch.) The product is cheap, the technician filed my nails so low that they bled in two spots. The shape of the nails is awful and after less then 4 days three nails have broken. Did I meant ion it took an hour and 45 minutes after being quoted and hour and 15, and that there was no wait for my walkin appt. Spend the extra cash and save your nails. read more

In CA visiting relatives, tried this Salon based on what I read in other Yelp reviews. I was there late on a Fri or Sat afternoon (cant recall), the place was quiet - since it's new it's not busy yet I guess. The staff was super friendly, funny and great to talk to. The lady who did my pedi did a super great job. It ended up being the best nail salon experience I have ever had. Thanks guys! Side note: it can be very hot during N. Cal. summer months, but the parking lot at this location has tons of shade due to all of the trees being mature. A great plus - you don't have to go out to a boiling hot car when you are finished with your nail appt! read more

The overall ambiance of this place is great, super comfortable and so welcoming. Once you come here you won't go anywhere else! Very disappointed. My daughter and I came in for the dip powder for nails. They did not remove our current set, instead just filed it down before adding more dip. That can't be done. It's not good for the nails. Worse, my daughter previously had a bright pink and that could still be seen under her new teal. Within two days the top clear layer pealed off of several nails. Will NOT go back. I have had dip nails for 2-1/2 years (from the same awesome place in SoCal) and this is the worse experience ever. read more

I've been up here for about two years, trying to find a decent nail place. I come from the bay where the there is a nail place on every corner and competitive designs and styles. I scoured yelp for bit in my area and stumbled on this place.. with nothing but amazing reviews. I called for a same day appointment and made it in. Ambiance on point, conversation from the staff and I assume the owner, on point.. and even had some similarities in common with Susan the woman who ended up doing my nails.. random but almost coincidence or 'meant to be'. I had a bad job before and she fixed it up confidently ( I could tell the way she was doing my nails she was confident in her skill) I'm rough on my hands and mentioned a few things I've noticed over the years with keeping them intact and she soaked it all up. Their color selection is awesome, she did the style I wanted even tho it was a fill.. and she was gently with a finger I smashed in a car door the day before.. My first visit was today and there was only one other in the shop, so it was an easy walk in (after school). Clean facility, friendly staff. Twe did my pedicure. It was done nicely and efficiently. I wished the salt scrub went to my knees (stopped at above ankle). The message was also short and only mid calf high. So again I'm used to longer period of scrub and massage, and more leg up to knee. Nail color choices was limited (non-gel). But I found a suitable one. I will come back because of convenience and pricing, and because they are very nice. Oh final note, I was in the seat directly across from the TV screen, it was on a nature/ocean show about fish, and the underworld. Relaxing. But the music was hip hop...spa music or "water colors" station would have been more soothing. I go to get pedicures for the experience :) read more

I knew my pedicure was going to be great, because hey it's Susan but I found the shop to be bright and open and the owners were very nice. I'm tempted not to review Serendipity, just so I can keep this secret to myself, but the staff here is just too awesome! This is my favorite nail salon I've ever been to. Everyone is so nice and very funny. The owner has a dry sense of humor, which I see in a couple other reviews here that maybe people didn't pick up on. He is actually really funny. I had Peter do my nails the first time I stopped in, and I always request him when I make an appointment. He is a true artist! My nails always exceed my expectations, even when I come at him with odd requests. You will not find a better experience for the price. read more

This nail salon is now my favorite place to get my nails done and toes done for these reasons. I came in today to get me and my daughters nails done. I had them do gel toes and nails, and my daughter got acrylic nails. The service was fast and the people who worked there were very funny and kind. I called and made a reservation for a dip manicure. When I got there the nail tech did not confirm what the service was, and ended up giving me a full set of acrylics with gel polish. Although this was not the service I asked for, the nails look fine, but it was a very painful experience. He was extremely rough with my nails and cut the sides of my fingers by filing too hard. I have been to every single nail salon in the Placerville, Cameron Park area and THIS one is the Greatest By Far!! Clean, new, sassy, and the Owner if just so wonderful and friendly and has made several accommodations for me, when he did not have to. I want all the ladies to leave their regular salon and make this one their new salon! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED It really is unlike any of the other nail salons I have been to, in so much as they are NOT rude, they DON''T treat you like they are doing you a favor, you DON'T feel like you're an annoyance. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Serendipity Nails today! I got s gel manicure and a regular pedicure. For the manicure, there was some difficulty with the color, but Angel did everything she could to make it right and make my manicure look phenomenal. She was a perfectionist and I loved it. The pedicure was so relaxing. The spa chairs massaged in all the right spots and the foot massage was good pressure and good length. My friend also got her nails done and she was impressed by the foot massage and the care the manicurist took with her cuticles. We were also impressed by another manicurist who redid another customer's nail when asked. I highly recommend and will go back! read more
