In my opinion this is thee best nail salon in the area, I have being a client of Ryan's for over 6 years. His dedication to his craft is heart felt and that shows through his business. The inside of the building is gorgeous, updated, classy. The pedicure chairs offer amazing massage feature. You'll be offered drinks (coffee, sodas, water, etc). Each employee is well equipped to do current trends and well executed manicure/ pedicure. As you can see if the photo the pedicure is a whole experience. They have a lot of nail colors and use top of the line products! The cost is moderate and in my opinion you get WAY more here (for the cost) than you would at any other nail salon. Unfortunately I think since the remodel the prices have gone up and service down. I went into today for a pedicure and full set. During the pedicure, my manicurist really took shortcuts and upsold not only me but the woman in the chair next to me who wasn't even her client. I walked out with French tips on my toe nails when I just asked for a solid color. Unfortunately, with the language barrier I wasn't totally sure what she was asking of me and by the time she was done I felt too uncomfortable to tell her that I didn't want French. I simply wanted the solid color I had choose. The woman next me to just wanted regular polish and she kept pushing her to do gel until she finally gave in. During the "massage" she chatted with the manicurist next to her the whole time. It simply felt like she was just rubbing oil on my legs to check the box. I also had to ask her to trim my cuticles as she just kinda skipped over that part. She had to go back and do that. The full set was decent but unfortunately I don't feel like I got what I paid for. They Ignored Me. Technician Hurt Me. Offered a Discount, Stiffed Me. Charged Me Full Price Anyway. This was the worst experience I have ever had from making an appointment to paying for a service I never received. With nail salons on every corner, there is not a single reason to choose this place. I called to book a 10:00 Saturday appointment for a mani/pedi. I confirmed and asked, do you have my name? They shouted "HAVE NAME HAVE NAME" and hung up on me. That is how this place operates. I showed up before 10. They sat me down at 10:40. I told them I had limited time. Nobody cared. I sat with my feet soaking for 15 minutes while not one person came near me. I got up and walked out. Only then did a technician materialize out of nowhere. I cut my ask to the bone: soak, clean, shape. Nothing fancy. She gouged my nail so hard I yelped in the chair. She skipped the soak. She moved like she was actively trying to run out the clock. They knew it was bad. They offered $5 off on their own. Then they charged me full price anyway. Stiffed on time, quality, customer service, and money. PS: They have marble floors that are slippery. That's an accident waiting to happen. This is the second time I have been to the nail salon after the first time I had a reservation and they made me wait. 35 minutes along with two other people next to me. Telling us 5 more minutes. NOT. We were not happy at that point. I thought I'd give them another try and had my husband come with me. My basic pedicure with gel took 45 minutes. His basic pedicure no gel was 15. I have never been to a nail salon where a basic for $38 with a $10 tip is a 15 minute deal. No massage like I had. Barely scrubbed this heals. This place is a hit or miss. I went in for a pedicure today with my mom and mother in law. The salon was clean and the owner & workers were nice! The only thing is they are really pushy trying to get you to pick a color and did not have all of the colors they advertised. My mom had to keep picking a different color. They also did our pedicures incredibly quick and it was not relaxing at all. I understand they are busy but we should not feel rushed. I got a gel pedicure and it already chipped and she did not paint some of my toes fully. When booking the appointment I booked 3 pedicures and a full set during the pedicure. On the phone they had no problem doing it but when we went in they wanted me to wait which I respect but I didn't allocate enough time to have to wait. It seems like they do a really great job at nails & I am excited to go back and get them done but I won't be coming back here for a pedicure. read more

I understand that they're newly reopening after a remodel, and I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt--but unfortunately, my experience was really disappointing. Less than five minutes into my gel pedicure, I was still browsing the color options when I was abruptly asked what color I wanted. When I said I was still deciding, the technician went to get the receptionist? I explained I just needed a little more time, but I ended up feeling pressured into picking a color quickly. The receptionist was kind and handled it politely, which I appreciated. The pedicure itself felt rushed and careless. The technician spent less than five minutes on trimming, filing, and cuticle work, and actually cut my toe in the process. It bled for the remainder of the service, which was both uncomfortable and concerning. The massage portion was also not relaxing--they used a timer that was clearly audible, and the "massage" was just a brief rub on my shins. Hearing the timer go off completely took away from any chance of it feeling like a spa experience. Overall, I'm really disappointed in both the service and the level of care/skill. I had higher expectations, especially with a fresh reopening, but I won't be returning. read more

I've been coming for about 6mos. The prices vary every time. The last time I was there, they put stickers on vs. my paying $15 more for painted on. At no time was I told they could/would lift/peel off. This started happening on day 3. I could not come in b/c I was out of town. I told manicurist today what had happened. The stickers were completely off of 5 nails & chipped & peeled on the others. It was embarrassing when people looked at my nails! When I explained this to manicurist, there was no reaction. I brought it up more than once. When I went to check out, I explained prior problem to Ryan (who was not there when I arrived) & said I felt I should get a discount due to the poor job last time. He didn't acknowledge so I thought maybe he didn't understand what I was saying. I mentioned it again, as he sarcastically smiled at me, he responded, 'that's what happens w/stickers.' When my nails were being done last time, the stickers were lifting. She said it's ok. Well, it wasn't. I should have been told there was a risk of stickers lifting, but I was not told. I said I probably would not return, he smiled, very patronizing, as he handed me my receipt. I left completely disgusted! Additionally, I asked to have polish removed from toes & nails cut. 6/1/2023: I posted D & D Nails Bar's services brochure for future reference. FYI: I didn't want nail polish applied onto my hands nor feet due to the fact, I had a VA Hospital procedure appointment where I can't wear any nail polish. Two Manicurists worked on my hands and feet which is the reason for tipping $15.00 (divided by two); however, I'm egregiously regretting tipping the $15.00 due to the services rendered! One Manicurist who worked giving me a pedicure and callous removal, USED A KITCHEN TOOL, i.e., an handheld cheese grater: IMHO, the El Dorado County Health Department Inspector MUST PAY D & D Nails Bar a prompt Health Inspection-STAT which BTW~took me aback and immediately prompted me removing a star from D & D Nails Bar's services. A couple of days later and despite, not having any nail polish applied either on my hands or feet, my nails BOTH on my hands and feet began severely chipping, i.e., the reasons are due to the fact, the way the Manicurist was filing my nails in both directions caused my nails splitting and breaking off. Thus, I removed another star for the Manicurists not filing my nails for my hands and feet properly! Therefore, I really tried finding another nail salon close to my humble abode where the nail salon would perform a stellar manicure and pedicure: I'm utterly disappointed with D & D Nails Bar's services rendered; I will not be returning as a repeat customer! read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this salon was so disappointing that I feel obligated to share. From the moment we walked in, the attitude from the staff was cold and unwelcoming. I asked once for a basic filing and then again for a base color (since the tech was about to just apply a clear coat directly over acrylic), and both times I was met with exaggerated eye rolls and visible annoyance. These are standard requests--I wasn't asking for anything extravagant or unusual. What's worse, the prices here are absolutely outrageous. My friend was severely overcharged for a basic French tip design that took over two hours to complete--not due to complexity, but because the tech moved slowly and kept restarting. When we asked about the price, they gave an explanation, but it felt completely made up on the spot--like they were scrambling to justify random add-on charges. They even charged nearly $20 just for a tiny flower decal on her pointer finger, which is absolutely ridiculous. In California, it's literally illegal to overcharge for services beyond what's advertised or agreed upon. The lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and transparency is unacceptable--especially at these prices. We left feeling disrespected, taken advantage of, and completely disappointed. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place. There are plenty of salons that offer better service, better prices, and most importantly, treat their clients with respect. A response to the owner's response: The design was simple. Charging $110 -- with $20 for a single flower -- is excessive and unjustified. I've been to better salons that charge less for more detailed work. Swearing up and down your prices are lower and your quality higher doesn't make it true. If this is your standard, it's no wonder you have to overexplain yourself to every negative review with the same lousy apology. Thanks! read more
