I've gone to Golden Nails many times for pedicures. If you get the right person, you get a good job. That's the trick - getting the right person. Some of them are just great, others just okay and one, in particular, to be avoided at all costs! One of the great ones, Emily, did my granddaughters' nails for their birthdays (5 and 7 and their first mani-pedi's - they were so excited) and was a sweetie, throwing in free flowers. On another visit, the person who should be avoided barely greeted me and never smiled. She spoke on the phone in a loud voice in a foreign language the whole time she was "helping" me then charged me more than usual and insisted it was the right price. A little girl who was in the shop asked her mom what the woman was saying. The mom explained that the woman was speaking in a foreign language. If you can imagine, the woman never acknowledged the little girl and didn't put down the phone. I can understand the employees speaking in a foreign language in low voices and to each other but not loudly on the phone. (It would be more considerate to speak in English though.) How rude that woman was. I'll go back but will be sure never to get her again. It's amazing how one bad apple can spoil the experience. I would have given a better rating if it hadn't been for that woman. If you ever go there, I think she's the only one with medium-length hair. Anyway, you'll be able to recognize her by the loud voice. read more

I've been coming to Golden Nails for a while and have been meaning to write a positive review. From start to finish, everyone is very friendly and warm. The place is clean and the girls are all great at their jobs! They will usually fit you in if you have a walk-in or short call ahead time which I know I always appreciated at the last minute. Last weekend I got a pedicure and nails done by Angie. I was able to show her a picture of what I wanted on my nails and she did them perfectly! I also get waxing done when needed. Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing pedicure, cute manicure and waxing! read more

Horrible experience my nails burned so bad the first time I went there but I thought maybe it was just because I had a hangnail and cuts but then I went back for a fill and again it hurt and after getting them filled it still looks like I need them filled as shown in the picture. Went in for a pedicure. Water was cold and they didn't buff my feet very well. They don't have a debit/credit machine but an ATM machine in the salon. I got my money out and my receipt said I got 20.00 more than I did. Fortunately it didn't take the extra out but still that's not right! Won't be going back! read more

Staff is very rude. And not only do they have a sign up saying they require a $10 minimum tip AND that they would like that tip in cash, but when you check out with a card, they ask you if you have cash for a tip. They were our last resort after checking four other places in town who were full and we didn't want to wait; when we got here, the greeter was giving herself a pedicure while a few others weee sitting around, and there were no other customers...now I know why. read more

TERRIBLE PLACE!! Went in to get my nails done and they buffed the skin right off of my finger till it was bleeding then continued to get nailpolish in it. When asked why i was bleeding he replied "oh that normal". I dont think so. Then expected me to pay for it! A week later and my finger is still cut open! read more

This place is all about who you get... My first time in was AWESOME... the guy who did my pedicure was perfect from the massage to the polish... The second and last time I went in there was a totally different story... The WORST pedicure I have ever had... the young girl who played the part in providing the pedicure was terrible like she was being forced to do something she did not want to do.. NEVER will return.. My friend was so kind he treated me and another friend to getting our nails done. Well. He paid $77 for all of us to get our nails done. So he put a lot of money into it. Well when finished. She made me bleed, did the shittiest flower ever and my girlfriend who wanted the matte style didn't get what she wanted. It was terrible. Bubbles everywhere and didn't go to my cuticle so it looked a little grown out. I went into work the next day Andy coworkers nails looked like there were brand new compared to mine and she got hers done weeks before. There were dents in the nails and we're all in all terrible. My friend went to sassy nails and went to redo them and sassy said that the acrylic they were using is old and white And my nail polish was old. Next time go anywhere else! read more

I was in town and needed a fill and color change. I wish I had waited until I got home. I am sitting in the airport with my gel polish peeling off. My manicurist rushed through the whole job. I went here when they first opened for pedicure and wound up with an infected toenail, notified the state board and they had an inspection (nothing ever came of it.) I went here last week since I had a gift certificate and had an even worse experience then last time. The man, Henry, looked so annoyed that he actually had to work it was like he wanted to throw himself off a bridge. It was the weirdest pedicure I've ever had. He filed a couple of my nails and trimmed the cuticle on ONE. I had a spa pedicure which consisted of him rubbing my left shin for 5 minuted in one spot with some dry clay stuff. It felt like my skin was on fire by the time he was done. Needless to say it was more stressful then relaxing and the polish has chipped after one week. read more

Hands down, the WORST nail salon I have ever been to! I am a woman in my 30's... I have frequented nail salons for at least the last 15 years off my life, MULTIPLE times a year, if not multiple times a month. This was THE WORST. My mom, sister and I went in to get a Pedicure on Friday evening. The pedicure itself left a lot to be desired, but the hot stones were a nice touch. I decided then that I also wanted my finger nails the same color so I asked for a polish change (didn't have much time and didn't want to spend the extra money for a manicure just so they could soak my fingers in water first). What a surprise when I get to the register to find that a polish change was $10!! Ten bucks just to paint my fingers! Every other salon I have ever been to the cost has been no more than $5! A Manicure would have only been $14..... Hmmm.... no prices posted anywhere though, so I guess that's what I get for not asking ahead of time! The big kicker though? I woke up the next morning and two of my 10 nails had polish that had completely PEELED off. Not chipped. PEELED (think that Tinkerbell kids nail polish you used to have when you were 10 years old.. yeah, like that). It was my daughter's birthday party that Saturday so I didn't have time to go back to the salon to have them fix it before the party. By the time I had taken a shower that morning, had her party, and cleaned up, I was left with only ONE nail still polished. Every.single.other.nail had the polish peel right off. After the party, I went back to the salon to tell them what had happened. The lady at the front told me that's what happens with regular polish and if I want my polish to stay I "need pay for gel". Um, I don't want to pay for gel. I want regular polish, that stays on my nails for more than 12 hours- NOT to much to ask as again, in my 15+ years of having my nails painted I have never had polish just PEEL off like this. A chip here and there? Sure, it's to be expected, but PEEL off? Something's wrong. After a few minutes of literally arguing with me telling me my activity level caused the polish to peel (apparently I am a WILD sleeper since in 12 hours, all I did was sleep and wake up and 2 nails were already peeled off). Finally, she scoffed and told me she would re-do my nails. My mistake was wanting them painted the same color and pjicking the same bottle. I am convinced that they are NOT using OPI products, but just using fake OPI in OPI bottles (that, or thinning the polish WAY too much so it's no longer good quality). Anyway,she proceeded to hastily paint my nails again- and they proceeded to peel off again in a matter of 48 hours. It's been two weeks and now all toes except for my big toe also have polish copmletely peeled off. Not to mention the absolutely horrible job scrubbing and buffing my feet the guy did. What a waste of money. Poor attitudes, taking no responsibility, placing blame on the customer, not standing behind their product, and wayyyy overcharging - yeah, I won't be back. Never again. Went in on a Sunday because they were the only place in town that was open. The girl got incredibly belligerent when I expressed displeasure with how they turned out. Proceeded to tell me what I should think. At one point I got up to walk out, to which she convinced me to stay, assuring me the end product would be satisfactory. After applying the final coat, she asked my opinion. Still seeing lines under the pink from my fill, she again argued with me, stating that it was only because they were not dry. Well my nails are dry, lines are still there and so is my anger. OHHH, and very next day one broke! Other time I have broken an acrylic it, I literally hit it with a hammer. read more

Your Money and your time is better spent at a different nail salon, not to mention hygiene. I should have left the minute I walked in the door. A man who works there was sitting at the front station cleaning his ears with a q-tip. It took several minutes for anyone to acknowledge me and inquire what service I wanted and that gave me the opportunity to look around the salon...dust every where and I was unable to see where instruments were sterilized. I came in for a mani and I'm not sure what service I received. My nails were filed, cuticles trimmed and than a sugar scrub was used on my hands and forearms DRY!!! No lotion massage. It was extremely unpleasant. I thought the nail tech might use warm towels to wipe of the sugar scrub...no, I had to go wash off the residue myself. Polish was put on and I was dismissed to the drying table. The only conversation to take place was to ask me the maker of my watch and to tell me how much I owed them. The fee was cheap and that's exactly the service I received...cheap. I will never return and if you are considering making an appointment there and you have never been there before, my advice is don't go. When you can not see how the instruments are cleaned and sterilized, run in the opposite direction. read more

I've had 3 gel polish manicures that bubbled while I was there & peeled shortly after. I will not use them for a manicure again, but will go there for a pedicure in a pinch. I think they must be thinning the gel & compromising it's quality. read more

Not sure if ownership changed or what happened, but this nail salon went downhill! I just had the worst manicure. Granted, it was cheap at $15 (pre-tip) but I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. I asked the lady to paint the edges of my fingernails after the 2nd coat of paint, and they are still bare on the sides. read more

This place is awful. They don't listen to you, and smirk when you politely ask questions. I paid $30.00 for a full set of nails. They were not placed very evenly and began to fall off less than two weeks later. They didn't look like they were being put on very securely but since I don't get my nails done very often, I don't know a lot about the process. I don't get my nails done often and I went to get them done as a special treat because I've been working a lot lately and I wanted to pamper myself, so I was pretty disappointed when the nails began falling off 11 days after having paid 30.00 to have them placed. read more

Recommended by a friend. Went in for a pedicure. Water was cold. Employees not very friendly. Employee cut my toe when she was doing my pedicure. (Why did I stay?) I said OW and Stop but she kept digging and my toe kept bleeding. There were flies in the salon. YUK! She was doing my pedicure like she had 50 people waiting but there was no one waiting. She rushed around and did my pedicure so fast (hence, the reason she cut my toe). The pedicure was not relaxing at all and she did not do a good job. When I was checking out, another employee, a man who was on the phone helped me. Charged me the wrong amount. Had to get another employee to let him know the right amount, he is still on the phone talking to someone in Chinese, like I was not there. I will never go back to this place and I let them know. I went home and soaked my feet in bleach water since there were flies landing on their equipment. read more
