How do you give this beautiful store a bad review? So organized, and plenty of help throughout the store . We are here getting a factory battery for my child's IPhone. Do fool around with companies that are not the factory themselves . 69 dollars here for a new battery by factory certified techs. No games , no data mining , just great products and services. At La Cantera, this is one of the better Apple stores that we've been to - I really enjoyed how it was different to a lot of the others, in that people were attentive and they were dealing with us straight away. Macbook Pro needs a battery. Talked to Mario, who said they'd have to order the battery, they no longer stock them due to "supply chain issues." OK, understandable. Then wants me to leave my computer with them for 3-5 business days - a nonstarter for me, no. Back and forth, after which he says, when we get the battery in, just come in and we'll take care of you in a couple of hours (basically, while I wait). Disappointed, I called the shop I bought the computer from, MacTLC, and they told me they'd have to order the part. OK! I guess that'll work, I said, and had them order the part. Notified the battery came in, I went there today and Mario claimed he never said that; my only option was to leave it for 3-5 business days. Or I can buy a new MBP (have them transfer all my info, I suppose) and then RETURN it under the policy. That's the solution - abuse the return policy?! Implied I was lying, not him. Recommend you record anything they tell you on issues like this; lost all my trust with this shop. There are employees standing around all over the store - no sense of urgency, no trying to solve my problem. Bureaucracy and arrogance. Going back to MacTLC. I would like to thank Chris for redeeming my previous less than satisfactory Apple Store experiences. I was very nervous about the outcome of this appointment since my iPad 2 is very old and anything could've happened today. Making an appointment before arriving is absolutely crucial as this store even in the morning/early afternoon is extremely crowded. Don't even bother yourself with arriving earlier than your appointment time, because you will still have to wait as they rarely have any no-shows or cancellations. Unfortunately that was the case for me today as I arrived earlier than expected and had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes. One benefit I discovered, as I grabbed a bench and parked myself on one of their display tables is that you can utilize their free Wi-Fi while you wait to upload download update any thing you need on your device with their Wi-Fi which is is lightning fast. I really prayed while I waited, because although all of the attendants are very knowledgeable about all things Apple it really just depends on who you get and what their personality is like. I overheard many clients around me that we're also waiting having problems with the battery in their devices and at least three people had to have their batteries replaced on their iPhones, I thought this was extremely interesting and worried that my iPad 2 was a goner for sure. Chris (I really should've asked your last name) was very patient and empathetic. I was thankful that he explored different options and in no way pressured me to upgrade my device or replace it or spend any kind of money until he was completely finished with the diagnosis. The conclusion was a software problem in my case which was actually not that complicated to correct. But backing up your device automatically to iCloud is highly recommended. Apparently I didn't have that feature turned on and so he had to wipe my iPad completely clean and I did lose some video and photos that I should have probably backed up and deleted from my device anyway. So... 2 hours and 45 minutes after my arrival time my iPad 2 was restored, again thank you Chris. L. read more

They are morons. Have no clue what customer service is. Dropped by on Tuesday. Three to five day turnaround. Called on Monday to see if part was in so they could swap it out. Part not even ordered. But now they can overnight it from another store in a different city but will not be available to replace part until Wednesday. Ridiculous, don't promise what you can't deliver. No sympathy either. Came by to get the charging port cleaned. They wanted me to pretty much take the whole phone apart just so they can clean the port. I told the little lady that the port is right there in plain sight and nothing was covering it. She could've care less. She ended up just using a little wire to clean it. In terms of retail outlets, Apple sets the standard pretty high. Normally, I try to take care of all customer service issues myself online without having to talk to a person. That doesn't work out when you're trying to BUY a product without having to wait for shipping because you're a terrible son and forgot your mom's birthday... but I digress. They do their best to make their interactions with you personable, asking questions along the way to make sure you're getting the right product. As busy as their Genius Bar always is, I imagine these employees deal with customers who have zero clue (technically speaking) pretty frequently. I know how complicated "tech" gets when I'm trying to explain it to my parents - so the fact that these employees can keep their cool without smelling like alcohol during a purchase is a win in my book! Today's interaction was to buy an Gen 4 Apple Watch. Pretty simple and straightforward. My sales rep did a good job at ensuring I understood the EKG functionality and how to get things set up on my mom's phone for the fall detection and emergency call functionality without dumb-splaining things to me. Things to note: I believe their sales reps have specializations. If you watch someone come in after you and get serviced before you... it's not that Apple is doing a bad job at crowd control (because the store is ALWAYS hectic and busy). The person getting service before you is just on a different wait list due to the product they're/you're trying to buy. They want to make sure you get an expert at the product you will have questions on. Have patience, you'll enjoy your interactions with the staff. Pro-tip: if you just want to quickly buy with minimal interaction, purchase your product online and just pick up in the store. read more

I used to have better experiences with this location. I thought since it was in la Cantera that it would have better service than the north star mall location. I usually buy my apple products here till recently. The issue I had was I was looking for apple AirPods and they did not have any in stock. I asked the worker if there was a way he could check if the north star mall had them in stock. He than told me he was unable to since there system does not have that feature. I drove all the way to North Star and they did have them. I told them what the worker at the la Cantera location told me and they said that was not true and he could have called the store. I might give the la Cantera location another chance in the future. I just wish they did not have employees that lie. I think if they gave them additional training than it may help. read more

As with most Apple Stores, everyone is both extremely knowledgeable and willing to spend as much time as needed to answer questions or resolve issues. Wait times for repairs and servicing are extremely short, assuming you got a reservation Reservations are effectively required, and walk-ins are only helped when there isn't a reservation for the time slot already. Ignore the reviews complaining about waiting in line: you might as well complain about how hard it is to get on a plane without buying a ticket before you arrive at the airport, or see a doctor without an appointment. The employees in this Apple Store specifically are extremely experienced and proficient at their work, and it shows: they can solve problems in a fifth of the time you'd expect. I'd recommend it for anyone looking to get technical support, have questions answered, or simply try devices in person. Do note, by the way, that Apple is not trying to appeal to impulse purchasers here: their products are extremely cost-effective, but they are not cheap. They are meant to be bought and used for years, often the better part of a decade. You don't expect cars to sell for $500, and you shouldn't expect computers to sell for $50. read more

Made a 3:45 appointment and arrived 20 minutes early to get checked in. 10 minutes later the guy checking me in says to wait by the table. 15 minutes later a rep comes over and says it'll be about another 15-20 minutes before I can be seen. I was there to only get my battery changed out. Meanwhile people are lined up outside the door to be checked in like I did. So now it's 4:05 and still haven't been waited on. I left due to poor service. Why make an appointment if Apple will not keep their part of it as I was early for my appointment. What a waste of time and gas. My computer has been broken for about 3 weeks, I finally made an appointment with apple and I'm so glad I did. I had to wait a bit to be attended to, but that is understandable as they were attending to other people before me. The man that helped, Tyree, was extremely nice and patient with me, and the lady next to me as well. I left my computer at apple for about an hour and half so they could repair it, which is fine! I just wanted my computer fixed no matter how long I had to wait. All of the workers were extremely nice, and when I came back in to get my computer, Tyree made sure I was attended to, even though his shift was already over by the time I got back! After 8 Phone calls and 4 hours wasted on hold and getting hung up on, to buy my daughter a phone. I can honestly say they have the worst service. I've been a loyal customer for years and couldn't believe that I had to waste that much time and call back 8 different times to get nowhere. I asked for a supervisor the last 2 calls and after 40 minutes on the first and 18 minutes on the second call I ended up getting hung up on. Everyone else aside from Brianna at the genius bar while putting best face were very unhelpful and acted pompous. Melissa helped me with the "exchange" of my pc. My husband purchased a Mac as my Christmas gift during the Black Friday promotion, with the purchase he received a $150 gift card which is the only reason he got the Mac. I took the Mac back because 2 weeks after Christmas and airing it out, it smelled Mike mildew. Stepping in, the "Genius's" questioned the concern I had and tried to dismiss me, until I insisted I just got it. They then offered an exchange which is what I preferred under the condition of visiting the Genius Bar. After Breanna helped me (which was the smoothest process ever) Sabrina stepped in to help me exchange the Mac. Now here, she returned the Mac and started to charge me 162 and change, I started to question the reason and she explained that there was a gift card needed to be returned or I was going to get charged. So I asked my husband about it and he immediately sends it over since it was part of the purchase. Then at that point they still charged me the taxes for the gift card I returned which didn't make sense. At that point, I started to question the process more and they were just more dismissive. I spoke with the manager about the gift card and she said "he bought it that day, if you want it back you'll have to buy it again", I got a refund for the taxes but it still didn't see right. I decided to get my husband involved and he saw that the "promotion" caused the pc to be reduced to $849 in price instead of the $999 and used the $150 gift card to pay for it at the repurchase point. They completely failed to acknowledge my husband's effort to purchase the item during the promotion as well as just evenly exchange the Mac properly. Since then, my husband and I have been on the phone with customer service and they disconnected our call about 5 times to the point where my husband had to go back to the store and deal with another "genius" named Chris. IT TOOK HIM 40 MINUTES TO UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION, 40 MINUTES, TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON. Then he said he could help fix the mistakes. but guess what, the Mac had to be taken off location services... so now I'm at the point of having to get that taken care of but it's so frustrating. So inconvenient. SUPER UNPLEASANT. The only reason we are insisting, is because of the way they've been treating us. The way they go against facts just to make them seem like they know what they are talking about is just beyond me. They didn't even admit they made a mistake directly. She answered all our questions about downloading photos, storage and cloud sharing. We also asked a lot of questions about the pros and cons of buying an iPad. Love my Apple products! We picked up two new iPhone 10's, and replaced the battery in a 6 plus. We also researched some of the features of their laptops vs. desk tops. The staff were extremely helpful, although one gal was a little condescending. She appeared to assume my husband and I were the stereotypical, non-technically-savy older couple, but never bothered to inquire about our technical knowledge or comfort level. I was a 15 year mainframe programmer/analyst prior to a career change, and my husband was a Project Manager, so we are both extremely competent with technology. Without knowing our technology comfort level, she dumbed things down even with extremely simple questions, which was a bit condescending. It would have been nice of her to get to know us a little better to skip the computer 101 intro, and move on to slightly more advanced info. Perhaps Apple management should take note (if they bother to read these reviews). I was not "offended" enough to formally complain, but perhaps this will serve as a gentle reminder not to stereotype; instead, spend a little time getting to know your customer base. All in all, Apple tries hard to make your visit pleasant and be as helpful as possible, and I'm sure the gal assisting us was only trying to do the same. Kudos to the Genius Bar staff (Chris and an African American gal that I didn't get her name); both were delightful! Our sales rep was also extremely helpful, and made several pertinent recommendations based on our level of usage and technical knowledge (he made the proper inquiries). Came here because of my jacked up iPhone. Victor at AT & T sent me here because apparently that is how to handle customers nowadays, dump them on someone else. Apple Store you need to get some anti-bacterial soap or something to wipe down all the displays. However, Apple Store, you did an OUTSTANDING job resolving my issue to my complete satisfaction today. Joey and Forrest and the manager (did not get his name but he is really built and has tats) did great and I left the store with a working iPhone. Anywho, the employees here are really nice and attentive except JD who is really cocky. James was a great greeter. JD needs to learn how to treat customers with respect (e.g. do not call me man, I am old enough to be your dad). Otherwise, got approached by four nice employees while I waited for my impending appointment with a tech to check on how I was doing.
