Beware scam! Was quoted $89 on the phone and in store and was charged over $140!!!! do not come here save your money!!! (Since the owner commented & called me a liar here's proof) I have spoken with him over the phone where he states he quotes $129 which was never once mentioned! He even said himself my screen was not messed up at all the LCD was which is only $20 to buy online or $2 wholesale. So he basically charged $139 of labor when it only took not even 8 minutes to repair! This is my "extremely damaged LCD" HAH phone didn't even get dropped the lcd went out from a MAGNET being too close. This mans a digusting scammer! BEWARE! Yeah Good Luck with this place just like the name of the store! I had dropped my phone off it was powering up just fine without a problem, the screen jus needed fixing cause it was cracked. Once I picked it up and left with the phone the screen blacked out within an hour, I had to drive back the same day to see what was wrong cause they claimed no warranty, the dude checked it and said it blacked out cause something was not holding the screen in place causing my phone to black out which was a lie cause my phone had been powering up without a problem even with the screen cracked before I took it in for fixing, so he end up making it work somehow again ... after telling me the last person that I had fix it maybe had broken something ... I told him this is the first time I had it ever fixed on ... there's no way when before I brung it in it was perfectly powering up with the screen cracked ... I then left the store the next hour the same thing happened my screen I bought blacked out again. Took my phone to another store and the guy at the other store told me they sold me a screen that was not good cause it keeps blacking out then he told me it was nothing out of place to cause it to black out like the guy at Good Luck told me what what's causing it to black out ... I got my new screen and now I'm having no problem at all with my phone and it's been a whole 24hrs. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. We've all heard it before but far too often we crinkle our noses and walk away. If you arrive at Good Luck Communications you might do just that. It's not an attractive piece of real estate and the location is less than desirable. I'm guessing for the owners of Good Luck Communications that equates to low overhead. Anyway, don't judge this book by its cover. Once inside, I was third in the queue which looked to be about a 10-15 minute wait. Luckily, one of the workers, probably a co-owner, showed up and assisted me. I explained that the wife had broken the screen on her iPad mini and needed to have it replaced. He assured me that it could be done quickly and easily. I had purchased a Groupon for $79 but he explained that if the plastic frame under the glass was damaged that it would cost an additional $30. However, as that's the amount that they pay Groupon, he said that if he needed to replace the frame that I should return the Groupon and he would do the entire job for the $79. OK, I said, just let me know. He had me fill out a card, and said it would take a couple of hours because they had some other screens to replace before they got to mine. I took this interlude to drive over to The Big Bib BBQ restaurant on Austin Hwy (see my review), and to do some other errands. I got a text 90 minutes later saying the frame was indeed cracked and that I should return the Groupon. That was easy enough. When I returned at the predetermined time, the iPad was ready to go. He had numerous rubber bands tightened around the iPad holding the new screen tightly to the base so that the glue (I think) adhered properly. He said I should leave the rubber bands on a couple more hours. A couple of hours later, we removed the rubber bands, peeled off the plastic screen cover, and fired it up. The first thing we noticed was that the depth of the home button was deeper which means the screen is either thicker or the rim around the home button a tad higher. We noticed the ring around the home button was silver. Was this an iPad mini 3rd generation screen? Our mini was a 2nd generation. Anyway, other than that, it worked like a champ. The screen is as good as new, with no loss of touch sensitivity and no issues with how it was adhering to the base. Overall, I'd recommend Good Luck Communications if you need a screen replaced, or if you're in need of some accessories or a cheap calling/data plan. I'd recommend calling ahead as they might honor the Groupon price in-house rather than paying a commission to Groupon. read more

Worst customer service rep on the phone EVER!!! They advertise on Groupon "Up to 55% Off" and differentiate a few products/services... , i.e. screen replacement, glass replacement etc. She quoted $49+tax and $109+tax for glass and LCD replacement respectively. I've asked about Groupon offer and she said it's already included. I said if it's already included, then $109 screen replacement should cost me $49, and not $49 for the glass only. Her brilliant response: "I hear some accent in your voice, that's why you probably don't understand the difference - glass and screen IS the same thing". P.S. I paid $50 to have my cracked screen repaired.... (everything worked fine including the touch screen... ) (just couldn't see through the cracks) they said come back in about an hour... I did They handed me my phone covered in rubber bands and said leave rubber bands on for three hours..... I did within a day the touch screen became unresponsive... I took it back they kept it 5 hrs this time.... tried to hand it to me with rubber bands again, I told them to keep it till it was ready. ( the girl took the bands off and told me it was ready) seemed ok several days later ( less than a week ) ... same problem. took it back... they said I had to pay more for them to fix.... said I had a dented frame... yet no mention the first two times....! I gave them an opportunity to make it right or give me a refund... ( NO REFUNDS) I believe Goodluck Communications is incompetent to do technical work and that they will not stand behind there work Owner would not even tell me his name..... I visited this establishment to repair the screen and LCD display on my iPhone 6. My husband had purchased a Groupon previously, which is why I went. They refused the Groupon (it was for a iPhone 5 or 5s repair) and refused to even honor the amount we paid to Groupon as a credit. Since I was already there, I went ahead and had them repair it anyway. Fast forward a couple weeks later, the screen began to become unglued and lose touch functionality. I returned to the store and explained what had happened. The customer rep said that I must have been rough with it because the screen had the wear and tear of an 8 month old screen. I explained that the phone was in a case the entire time and if it was possible that the wear and scratches are because the screen had severely lifted. They said no and wanted to charge me again $150 to replace both the screen and LCD again. Since I am not in the habit of throwing money away, I decided to take it to another shop recommended by a co-worker. They had it ready in an hour and told me that several screws and a plate were missing, the glue was low quality and they had not removed the protective film on the LCD display before installing. I took the work order back to the shop to see if I could get a refund and was told only the owner could authorize refunds and was only there a couple hours in the afternoons. Since I don't have all day to sit around and wait for the same "owner" who screwed up my phone the first time, I did not return. read more

Judge this book by its cover! I recommend going through Apple or your cell phone device carrier to ensure your warranty and no additional issues or concerns happen later on. Not impressed at all with the customer service or workmanship provided. Especially if they are having to rectify their work the day after picking the device up after services were supposedly rendered. Save yourself the headache go somewhere else! The Groupon is not with it! I took this in for a simple shattered screen. The device still worked and what was given back to me after the SECOND time they "fixed" it. My Ipad ended up having lines in the screen and a double image - which were not there when the device's screen was cracked. Save yourself the headache! Brenda lacks customer service and whoever the owner is that does the work is not qualified to perform the duties of an Apple expert. And pretty sure this voided any warranty we had with Apple and now all I have is a paperweight. Thanks Bad Luck Communications. For me, there has been no good with doing business with this company! Worst decision ever! Shop is located in a bad part of town and I should've gone with my instinct. Unfortunately I had purchased a groupon for replacement of an iPhone screen. I was going to wait for the phone on a Saturday afternoon and left it around 2:30 to go run errands. I came back an hour later and it wasn't finished. The tech brought me the phone around 4:30 and the screen worked but the camera was no longer working. It had worked last time I had tried it. He said he couldn't fix before 5:00 and if I could leave it he would lock it up in a safe.(found out later they don't own a safe) I never heard back from them that the phone was ready on Monday but I started receiving emails that purchases were being made on my paypal account. I called the shop and found out my phone had been stolen and the police were called. Needless to say I have wasted countless hours closing accounts, filing police reports, etc and the shop owner has done nothing at all to help. They did not even attempt to call me. Not only have I gone through tremendous fear and anxiety but I will be paying for attorney fees, etc because of their negligence. read more
