Yesterday, I was about to sell a Thinkpad, but when I plugged it in, it overheated! I had to ask the buyer to wait til I could get it looked at, and luckily he agreed. I took it over to Steve's at 2pm on a Saturday. Not only was the shop open, he helped me personally, He told me if it's an easy fix he'll do it immediately and I can take it home. If it was more complicated, I'd have to wait for the diagnosis Mon or Tues. I knew there was a bios setting that might fix the problem. Steve got in fast and fixed it. I took it home and plugged it in... PROBLEM SOLVED! This allowed me to sell the laptop the same day! AND he waived the $85 diagnostic fee! I was happy to learn they work on Macs (my daily driver), PCs or Linux machines. They do all sorts of repair, recovery, upgrades and new builds. When I was there, they were working on 2 seriously tricked out gaming PCs. It's hard to keep a small business running, and it's hard to find honest independent computer repair shops. Steve is an awesome guy! I recently returned to San Antonio from Austin and forgot to pack my power cable for my PC along. After explaining my issue he generously offered a free cord and thanked me for my service (Military). Without this cord I would be out a night's worth of productivity for work and school. There's not much to say other than these guys (Steve & Mike) were very welcoming & understanding of my situation. The hard drive to my laptop went out & they did what they could to retrieve as much data as possible & put it on a portable memory bank for me. They also put a new hard drive in my laptop & got it running, all within a 3 day time span. I had over 300 gigabytes of music & tons of pics/docs. They did what they could & I couldn't be more grateful. Their prices were reasonable .... Like Steve said, "we're not the cheapest or the most expensive". He let me know upfront that there was plenty of more options/repair shops around. There was no pressure from them & they accepted payments. They have a showroom for new or refurbished laptops. I took my security camera dvr hard drive to be replaced on Friday afternoon. Steve told me it would be around $110 to install a new hard drive. He said he would call me Monday. Didn't hear from anyone so I called Tuesday after 5. Steve told me he couldn't retrieve the info from my hard drive (I didn't request that because I knew it crashed). He said it would cost $230 to replace the hard drive. I declined and went to pick it up. I went to Best Buy & bought the hard drive for $75 (tax included) & $50 for Geek-squad to install it. I was hoping this would be place I could count on but I guess not. read more

I needed my computer cleaned out because it was about 4 years old and I don't know anything about cleaning it. It was so slow that when I would have a zoom conference, I'd have to start checking in 30 minutes to an hour before just to get online. I also had an old external hard drive from desktop that was damaged and needed the data from that too. Again, they worked a miracle and were able to get the data I needed.
