My processor was idling at 90°C and was working preventing me from using it for processor intensive purposes. Duncan was straight forward with taking my computer in, and diagnosing it. Their shop has plenty of pc supplies and they just so happened to have a high end processor cooler there, along with many others on different colors. Vicom guys fixed my computer after two minimum efforts failed by the Best Buys Geek Squad technicians. Needless to say, I will cancel my Total Tech Support by the Geek Squads immediately. Not only did they have all kinds of gadgets I need but they also have travel bags and laptop cases. Two and four monitor holders, 100 foot rolls of CAT 5 cable for $25 and lots of "toys" your computer or laptop might for Christmas. My Major complaints PC Case accessories that were sold to us are missing major components such as: 1. 5v ARGB GPU support bracket with no 5v connecter, just a sata power cable to connect to the PSU. so it can't be addressable RGB if you can't plug it in to the motherboard or RGB HUB. there isn't even a spot for a 3 pin to connect to. its just missing like it was intentionally and almost surgically removed from the product. 2. a remote controlled RGB LED strip set with no remote... Additionally, I told a store rep over the phone the specifics of my case and what I was going for. He told me not to worry and then proceeded to sell my family random crap that was directly in conflict with what I was going for. Here are my minor complaints: Family member that purchased Items was promised by the clerk she spoke to that I would be able to return them for any reason. The receipt she was given states "all sales final" with a maximum of three days to return a faulty product. not particularly great for the holiday season but it is a small company. Based off of the receipt. Parts cost literally 100% more then any competitor I've seen yet. Including other brick and mortar stores like ALTEX in San Antonio or Micro center in Houston. Finally when I went to attempt to exchange items for fans or anything that would actually help my PC build he informed me he was going to close the store over 4 hours early to run an errand. his store was going to be closed the next day so in order to get there before I left town I would pretty much have to teleport past the front door. he made no offer to give me enough time to get there meaning his store would be open a maximum of two hours on a Saturday. Final thoughts: All in all the reason I went with two stars instead of one is because ultimately I'm mad at what I believe is a sleazy business owner in a economy that rewards sleazy business practices. but maybe it was just carelessness? other people could have taken those things from the products when he wasn't looking and most small businesses I've seen do not appear to have measures to prevent opened products being sold? that and everything else I'm upset about are inconveniences. such as parts I have no desire for could not be exchanged nor can I resell them at full price because as I've mentioned they have crucial pieces missing and I refuse to do that to someone else. other reason I did not give a one star is due to the fact I could not get into the store itself which likely could have changed this review to be a thorough 5 star review. read more

My sister's old HP laptop was so slow she couldn't even use it. I said let me take it to Vicom and see if they can help. I took it in and talked to Trevor and he suggested several things to get it back in shape. I was able to get a 8G stick of RAM, a new SSD drive and a USB dongle for high-speed downloads. We lived across the street from these guys for 16 years and never had a reason to darken their doorway until last week. Our 2.5 year old PC got sick and we took it there for a fix. We checked them out in Yelp first and then dropped off the PC. The guys there are just great! They cleared off a ton of malware and a couple of viruses that got through. They set us up with more stringent, but free, malware and virus protection and they upgraded us to Windows 10. It's like we got a new computer for $150.
