I had a disc drive crash and, while they ultimately couldn't repair the drive, it wasn't for lack of effort and open frequent communications through the process. They replaced the drive and battery at very reasonable prices as well as provided references to companies that can recover data CSI style, albeit at a much higher cost. read more

Took my PC in to get a new motherboard and processor installed on it. Duncan the owner of Vicom, gladly did it within a short amount of time (about three hours) and even stayed open past closing time to get it accomplished, in spite of it being a busy too with customers as well. Our computer tower quit working right around Christmas time when we were busy and short on funds. Went to Vicom PC and had the best computer buying experience ever. I am not into computers and just wanted the thing to work. Owner was very easy going, asked what our needs were and if there was a budget we needed to stay in. I brought in my HP laptop to Vicom PC, I had to have a new hard drive put in and to make a long story short it was not a cut and dry process. I am heavy user of my computer, more so than the average person. So I realized I had put some miles on it. Vicom PC put in a new hard drive, a SSD but it was like putting in a V8 inside a model T basically. It ran so fast that the computer was overheating. They ended up putting in a new fan and really going over the computer top to bottom to make sure that it ran great. When I got home and started using the computer again, I was in tears. Talk about a new lease on life! The laptop runs better than ANY computer I have ever used. It basically has ruined me now. I'll have to take in all my other computers so that they can be up to snuff. Because this baby is so fast that I am shocked at how fast I get work done. I actually have time to eat and sleep more than in the past. I'm not waiting for Windows to close or having warning messages flash in my face every night. I also brought in a Sony laptop to Vicom PC and that one now runs like a dream. VicomPC was recommended to us by a friend several years ago and since then we have done business with them. We have a small business and more recently we have found ourselves doing more and more business with Duncan, the owner. We like him, he's easy to work with, very knowledgeable and just a good guy to do business with. But just recently our server crashed, we panicked made some rash decisions for recovery that ended costing us time and money. We didn't even think about calling Duncan until we were 2 weeks into our situation. I wished we had called him first. He worked 3 days (over the weekend) on our drives downloading data, but determined he didn't have the system to restore the Raid 5 configuration as it needed to be and recommended Flashback Data, go to their site for a very positive review. Back to Duncan, he explained the entire process to us, he understood our situation and he gave us a great solution. He didn't charge us for the evaluation, not that he would do that for everyone, but he did for us because we are a good customer and I think he's one of those that wants your business and knows how to keep bringing you back. I know he has won me over no doubt, not just by this latest experience, but because of the last several years of business. Duncan told me that there will be a 15% restocking fee. I paid the fee and got my money back. This business made 90 dollars out of me. I was glad to find a local place. They have a flat fee $35 diagnostic to figure out what was wrong with my Mac. Although it took three days, it was done right and in the end that is what you want. The shop isn't much to look at, but they say they are remodeling. I am glad there is a local place rather than to the mall for Mac repair...glad to give the locals a chance. They always seem to be busy, so give them a chance.... read more

i brought my pc in to be built for me and was told it would be a total of 89 dollars, i then went into the store, talked to the guy, then right before i left he told me that if i wanted them to do some extra updates and stuff for me it would be an extra 99 dollars, i was fine with it, so i said sure. he then asked if i wanted them to get me a windows key which would be another 99 dollars on top of that, i said i didnt think i wanted that because there are ways to get it for 20 dollars or even free, the guy put it on my pc anyways and charged another 99 dollars, he then called me after my pc was done being worked on and said that one of the parts i have isn't the right part. when it is .. i have friends who use the same one.. and have watched multiple youtube videos on it. he then told me i needed to sell my current part and that the one he gave me instead was gonna be another 130 dollars, my total was 430 dollars, and since he did everything before confirming with me i was forced to pay for it because the job had already been done, was definitely dissatisfied by this, mainly because the main reason I chose vicom what is the significant price difference between them and other stores, but I guess nothing in life is as easy as it looks. my pc was built so that's good, but i don't think I'll be going here again read more
