Delicious baked stuffed fish with crab meat and cheese & stuffed mushrooms!

Very busy! I was there at 4:30pm on a Friday night and it was already full. Sat at the bar, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I was served quickly and the Beer Battered Fish was excellent. Great value for the food, and though I had to go early to get a seat, my beer was discounted because of Happy Hour! NU Researcher read more

My family and I like this restaurant. I love the Monte Cristo sandwich!

Sit at the bar, have some wings or a burger. Dave the bartender is the nicest guy and very attentive. The wings are the best in WNY. The burgers are always juicy and cooked to perfection. Yes the crowd here tends to be older, but they know a good thing and keep coming back. Even our kids enjoy sitting at the bar and talking to Dave. Our youngest even gets upset when she finds out we went and saw Dave without her. We consider Apple Granny's our local pub! read more

We have been coming here every year after visiting the Lewiston Peach Festival. And, in the past, the food has been good. This year, our food was not as good as we expected. The drinks were only fair and the food was bland, including artificial crab meat. The service was fine and the prices were reasonable. But, the food and drinks were disappointing. We may, or may not, return. read more

Lewiston NY is one of the best places in the entire world! Okay, I haven't been all over the world, but I've been here and lived here. It's like you just walked into the movie Pleasant Ville! Apple Granny is one of the friendliest, down to earth places you'd love to visit over and over again. Full of locals and visitors. My favorite thing to eat was the French Onion Soup. The onions were sweet, caramelized to perfection. The cheese on top was cooked to perfection with all those drips down the side of the bowl that we all love to peal off! To be honest, I have yet to find any meal there that was not perfect. I had a hamburger to go one night, and let me tell you, it was so big I could hardly close the lid, along with the homemade french fries. Even if you don't want to eat, pull up a seat at the bar and enjoy the evening. read more

AMAZING FOOD they are known for there're chicken wings they are also DELICIOUS. Customer service is sooo good. The workers are very helpful.

Located in historic Lewiston, NY this place has a charm to it. We went for lunch on a Saturday. Not very busy at all though the bar had more guests than the dining room. (Women's soccer championship was playing.) Quaint homey feel from the outside and small town vibes on the inside. Upon first walking in you can instantly smell the seafood. Our server was very nice and friendly and our order came out hot and fresh! Mom got the patty melt with onion rings witch she loved. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and it was a very large chicken breast on a nice roll with all the dressings. Chicken could use some more flavor though, it seemed very plain. My son had the kids hot dog and fries, the bun was over toasted he couldn't eat it so just ate the hotdog. Fries are generic but still good. Also an oder of garlic bread which was delicious and plenty for the price. Onion rings were really good too! All in all good spot, we definitely want to come back and try some more. read more

Great wings on a quaint Main Street in Lewiston, it was well worth the drive from Seneca Casino to visit downtown, walk around and have lunch at Apple Granny to see the history and eat lots of wings and drink Dr. Pepper Great friendly service. read more

Dined at Apple Granny in Lewiston, NY with my wife recently who ordered the fish. It was as fresh as any fish I've ever tasted. I ordered an entrée salad with strips of chicken on top and it was fantastic as well. Service was superb even though the place was full (on a weekday.) Prices were quite reasonable. My wife had Apple Pie for dessert and it was also excellent. Wonderful experience! Mike Hess read more

Best place in town Best Chicken and fries best everything I try to go there one a week soooo good

Great place for lunch! It was just what I expected after opening the door. Simple basic food prepared well. I had grilled cheese and tomato. I forgot to ask for a specific cheese so it came with American. But the rye bread tasted homemade. My buddy got the Rachel, a Reuben with turkey. It was really good. The service was friendly and attentive. read more

Has been a must go restaurant for years with my family. Mike the new owner is friendly and accommodating.

I'm honestly not sure how this restaurant gets such good reviews. The location is wonderful and they have their own parking lot instead of street parking. In Lewiston, that's nice. The servers are VERY sweet and friendly all the time. They are truly amazing. However, the food is poor to mediocre at best. We have gone twice. The first time I ordered their veggies steamed in what bread with cheese. I thought it'd maybe be like a crusty wheat roll, but it was literally two slices of wheat bread out of a bag that had become horrible soggy from the steam of the veggies. The veggies were completely bland. There hadn't even been salt or pepper added to season them. The second time I decided it must have been a fluke and tried the ravioli. It was literally frozen ravioli out of a bag that had been over boiled. It was soft, soggy, and some of the water had seeped inside them. The sauce was very chunky and a bit bitter. While they are lovely people and I love downtown Lewiston, it you want good food save your money and go elsewhere. read more

My family and I have gone here for years and I have to say it's one of the more consistent restaurants we've ever been to. The food is always great, reasonably priced and the portions are amazing... especially the fish fry.We have tried many different foods here and we have never been disappointed! The only reason I get this for stars is that the wait can be very long depending on the day make sure you make reservations or at least call ahead to see what the wait time is. read more

Went yesterday for lunch. Service was great and the food was a nice treat at a great price. My wife and I both got specials and they were good. I would definitely go back. read more

Food, service and atmosphere was terrible. Ordered shrimp scampi and they brought a plate of shrimp and noodles with red sauce?! Flavor of everything was subpar. Wouldn't come back if they were giving food away. read more

All the reviews here are totally off base! This restaurant is the last out-post of the small town restaurant - we don't even have any of these in the Greater Toronto Area so my boyfriend and I always swing by when we are in Upstate New York. The service is spot on, the food is always pipping hot and delicious and, compared to the prices we pay up here in Toronto, super cheap. The wings are probably some of the best I've had, as is the selection of sandwiches and taco salad. The drinks, from draught beer to the mixed drinks, are great. Don't let the comments about the seniors deter you from coming here - the homely atmosphere and delicious food will keep you coming back. I wish we had an Apple Granny's here in Toronto! read more

Family restaurant. Fabulous fish fry on Fridays. An appetizer I like - hot cherry peppers stuffed with anchovies. (OK, so that's not for everyone... ) Nice menu, comfortable seating, good service. Great value for the money. read more

Each of the three of us ordered the backed halibut. HORRIBLE! Smelled and tasted like ammonia!! Also had no spices or sauce to accompany it. Waitress asked if we wanted something else, so ordered turkey sandwich which arrived with cheap potato chips and on bread like wonder bread-- also TERRIBLE!! These people do not know quality food or service. The health department should investigate as people can get major food poisoning from fish like that!! read more

This was our first stop to eat after we arrived at our hotel. The hostess greeted us quickly and was friendly and as noticed through out the evening, she kept herself busy, helping bus tables, getting refills as needed and seating guests at the same time. She is a fine, Hard working young lady. Our server was super nice. Our food was good, as well as dessert. I ordered a salad with cottage cheese, and my husband ordered a grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and homemade broccoli cheese soup with shredded chicken. The service was slow, we were there about 2 hours, but we are on vacation and it was all good. It's a place to eat at your leisure, not a fast food restaurant, so I recommend you stop and take the time to enjoy the good food. (Stop and smell the roses, so to speak). The place has some antiques throughout, which is cool to see. We would recommend this place to eat anytime and will eat there again. read more

Best Fish and Chips! Get sweet potato fries instead of the regular! You'll be blown away!

One of my favorite restaurants! Everything I have ordered off of the menu is delicious! I have introduced a bunch of friends to this place and all have enjoyed the food! It is an older establishment so it is a little smaller but the service and food has been great!! Would recommend anyone to stop by! read more

Grabbed lunched here since we were too late to make it to breakfast anywhere (oops). We had the seafood chowder, a tuna sandwich, and a club. Everything was just ok. Not great, not bad. Service was decent, but not super friendly or anything. Oh, and we were also apparently way too young for this place - we didn't have a cane, a walker, or our own oxygen. Our bad. read more

I guess if you're a grandma and into old, out-dated decor with a musty- type smell of a restaurant, the Apple Granny is for you. The food was mediocre at best. Somewhat of a disappointment after reading some of the raving reviews.. Take my advice- go elsewhere. read more

$17.60 for a piece of fish and onion rings. Fish undercooked - had to put it in the oven at home. Didn't even come with Cole slaw. Some "fish fry". I won't make that mistake again. read more

I would like to say something about Apple Grannys at 433 Center Street in Lewiston, N.Y. I have been to Apples many, many times. I have enjoyed the company of good people there as well as having had the privilege of the fine food and ambience that the restaurant offers. Dave is an attentive and humorous bartender... one of the best I have known. Folks like Julie bring such great character and service to the place that I want to go back time and time again. But the food? It is fantastic! The great thing too is that it does not break you at the bank. My partner Debbie, who is from Lewiston, introduced me to this fine establishment and I hope to continue going there. True, there is often an older crowd. But to imply that it is geriatric is incorrect. For those few people who have written scathing reviews? Com'on, you could not have been at the same place. And besides, if all you can do is cruelly, and with such bad taste critique this establishment, better you don't come back. Go and eat at MacDonald's. Gary Gallant read more

Went here while visiting my son at Niagara University. Love the town of Lewiston. It was a Friday during Lent. So we expected to wait. Once seated, there was a longer wait. Waitress was slow. All understandable. But the food was not worth the wait. All 4 entrees were under cooked. Nothing worst than under cooked fish. Won't return. read more

We have enjoyed Apple Granny's for years. The food, the atmosphere and the people are fantastic!!

Loved this place! Surprised by some of the mediocre reviews. The food was all fresh, fast, and delicious. The majority of the menu is made from scratch. I had the veggie garden burger. Good veggie burgers are hard to find, but this one was great. Try it with salsa...yum! My husband got the creamy spinach artichoke soup and the chicken Parmesan and couldn't stop making yummy sounds. Definitely coming back! read more

First impression is a perfect candidate for Restaurant Makeover. Old decor, old everything. Ordered patty melt, Ruben Rachel and ravioli. Nothing to write home about. read more

The have the best fish fry. And the soups are great. Highly recommend. Be it is well liked and can get crowded so give your self some time.

Apple Granny is a homey, neighborhood food joint (with a little bar) where you can get a decent meal, have a brew, watch a hockey game, and talk with friends, without that homogenous chain restaurant feeling. If you insist on cutting edge decor, chef-prepared fare, and a starched white tablecloth, move along. read more

After a ride on Niagara Jet Boats just down the street we stopped in here for a late lunch. This is one of the few restaurants open before 4 or 5 on a Friday. A small but varied selection of tap beers reasonably priced. Remember Lewiston is a small summer tourist area. Food selection covers all bases. The selections at our table were limited to roast beef on kummelweck and fish sandwich. Each had usual choice of sides. French fries were the unanimous choice. The fries were excellent. Nice crispy exterior with soft (not mushy) inside Here's where we lose the star. The beef was on the small side. Between real kummelweck & slider. Disappointing especially since the beef was very good. Hint to management: so good I doubt anyone would complain if You upped it a buck and made it full sized. The fish sandwich came with soggy bottom of the roll which was sliced thin on bottom thick on top. Fish was delicious after discarding the roll. I'd call it a small fish fry and exchange sandwich roll for dinner roll. Just personal choice so stop in. You're sure to find something in the menu you'll enjoy at a price that's very reasonable read more

The Apple Granny was a great restaurant! I had their party melt with a chef salad. Unfortunately, it seemed that they did not have several items on their menu that day, such as clam chowder, meatloaf, and scallops. The burger was well-cooked and their salad was fresh. As a precaution, their "chef salad" is not a chef salad with meats--it's just a regular salad (which I didn't mind). They say that they have their seafood delivered fresh daily, and according to another party member, this was definitely true. The restaurant is a hit with the locals and we were directed to Lewiston by someone at the Niagara Falls Welcome Center. I'm glad we went and enjoyed the Granny Apple! read more

Apple Granny has great food, great atmosphere, great prices! A lot of variety and friendly service.

Googled some restaurants to visit before an Artpark show. Saw Apple Granny, read the reviews and we reserved our table. Upon arrival the "hostess" was gruff, lacking a welcoming tone and just plain scary. We were seated, in what turned out to be a tremendously LOUD environment, waited 5 minutes for water and not even a smile. The waitress returned 10 minutes later to say "have you decided?" (At this point we were still waiting for a HELLO)! We placed our order (25 or so mins into being seated)...she returned 20 minutes later dropped our food off and left. I order my petit filet MEDIUM, it was almost Well Done...our food lacked flavor and our waitress returned about 15 minutes later, when we were almost done, to say "how is everything, any dessert?" OF COURSE NOT - CHECK PLEASE. If it wasn't for my friend convincing me, she would've received "tips" on how to be BETTER. I left the bill paid and will NEVER return here again. After being seated at Artpark, 3 ladies sat next to us and said "were you at Apple Granny? Wasn't it loud? I couldn't hear and my food wasn't great..." Looks like there were others who received sub par service and food, at best. Just bad, really bad all around. read more
