We came here for lunch one day while visiting Lewiston, and we enjoyed it! I got the chicken breast sandwich and my husband got wings. Both were great. The fries were really good too. Our server was super sweet and there wasn't a wait at all. Definitely has an old timey vibe inside with the way it's decorated. We enjoyed our lunch after our visiting Niagra Falls. The Bermuda Beef sandwich was very good. Meat was tender. My wife's Reuben was ok, but a little dry. Wow! I heard a lot of great things about this place - finally got a chance to try it. I was in Lewiston for the Jazz festival- we ate on the early side to avoid crowd waiting times. Glad we did. The restaurant was packed shortly afterwards. Nothing fancy about atmosphere- pretty casual and clean. Lots of menu choices at reasonable prices. I ordered the pot roast dinner- came out nice and hot. Meat was tender and had a nice tasting gravy - real mashed potatoes and carrots! Will definitely be back! read more

The food here is good. Many options. We haven't been here in years! There were 4 in our group and we were seated promptly. The service was excellent! This restaurant has an old school feel. We ordered chicken fingers, sirloin steak, pot roast and chicken salad. Everyone was happy with their selection. We will definitely be making another visit soon. I love Fish Fry Fridays in WNY. So when I ventured up to Lewiston to catch up with a friend, we ordered two Fish Fry specials. I will start by saying, this is a good fish fry. But it's only good. And for the $16 each we paid, I expected more. The order included fish, fries, a small side of coleslaw, a lemon and tartar sauce. The best part of the whole meal were the fries. The fish was good. It was crispy in some areas but not so crispy in others. The coleslaw was more red than other coleslaws I usually have and had a little bit of a different flavor. Wasn't for me. Overall, I wish they had given a mac salad or another side. It was good, but it just needed something else or maybe a little bit more coleslaw and less fries. It was just a little underwhelming. I'd definitely go back and check out the rest of the menu though! read more

We came here with my Kiwanis group who were running the Annual Peach Festival up here in Lewiston. What a beautiful Town and Village. It was dinner time and this was our spot. Just a beautiful, bustling restaurant where everyone know everyone. The server also know all the customers. This is definitely a place of regulars. I went with their famous Clam Chowder which was delicious. Thick and creamy with plenty of clams and potatoes. I wanted to do something different for my main meal so I went with the Taco Salad and it was definitely a 'Yum.' Plenty of all the ingredients that make a Taco, a taco but in salad form. Servers were very attentive to our needs and were constantly checking up on us. We took our time for a nice casual dinner and just enjoyed our surroundings in a quaint restaurant with friends. In the heart of the lovely village of Lewiston, Apple Granny will not disappoint. The food is very good and the service is excellent. Sara never let our cups reach empty, and she was knowledgeable about the menu and most attentive. It is a friendly place, casual atmosphere and a very diverse menu. They have Wi-Fi and people feel comfortable using their phones. There is Talent in the kitchen, and some of the flavor combinations are noteworthy. The New England clam chowder was not too potatoey and it actually has chunks of carrots in it, which I didn't mind at all. The crab and cheddar stuffed haddock was quite good. My wife's Montecristo sandwich was also also very nice, with ham, turkey and Swiss cheese sandwiched between thick slices of French toast. The service was really what made this restaurant special. Sara worked hard for us, and it looked like the staff in the entire restaurant made customer service a priority. read more

A definite gem in the heart of downtown Lewiston. The building was built in 1830 and has been owned by several owners, the most recent for 10 years. The menu is pure American comfort food. Regardless of what you order, you're missing out if you don't have the French Onion soup. Was told they sell 21 gallons a week and the taste tells the story of why. The service is very good too. Very friendly without being too pushy. Guilty of being a regular from Hamilton and when there, the bartender Jenny takes great care of everyone. read more

Not at all impressed with this place. It started with the menu ... nothing intriguing. Everything was so basic. Nothing had its own spin on it to make this place unique. I ordered a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. I didn't even finish my meal it was so bland and boring. There was no seasoning to the chicken or fries. Not even salt. I cook better than this at home. What a waste. Plain honey to dip the fries in versus most restaurants creating their own honey based dip or butter. I mean it was really the most basic and boring meal I have probably ever ate. My friend got a fish sandwich with chips and again .. just basic out of the bag potato chips. Additionally, the bathroom had old faucets you have to manually turn on and off which grossed me out touching wet faucets from the lady that washed her hands before me after going number 2. We were standing outside of the entrance looking at their menu when a gentleman came up and said it was the best place in Lewiston. I jokingly asked if he was the owner, and in fact he was! I said "I'm sold!", we went in and again jokingly I said to the hostess, "This man says that everything is on the house for us today." The menu was pretty extensive and the place was busy. In fact, while we were there, a tour bus from Georgia dropped off about a dozen women. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry. When the food did arrive, it was excellent. My wife had the beef on weck with chips, and I had the Bermuda grilled beef with a small salad. We ended up taking halves of our sandwiches home for dinner that evening. Went here for lunch today and had a really nice time. One side is a bar with a few high tables, the other side is a dining room with many tables, a few of them by the window. Their menu has many items on it, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We went with the Beef on Weck with coleslaw which was really good. It came with au jus and gravy; the latter tasting perfect. They put on a good amount of beef, and the kimmelweck role tasted amazing. We also ordered the breaded haddock and french fries. The fries were cooked perfectly, nice golden color to them, and crispy. The fish wasn't that great, it had a flavorless breading on it, and inside the fish was flaky, but very watery, almost soggy. We were pretty full from the dinner and had no room for dessert. We saw one table get a piece of the Dutch Apple pie and it looked huge--perhaps next time we will order it. Service was amazing. Our server was really friendly, always making sure we were doing well. Parking is free on the street, or to the left and back of the restaurant, in their private lot. read more

We ate here twice during our vacation. Great staff and amazing food I had the Prime Rib and a Blue Cheese Burger. My son had a mini combo platter with a Reuben, Beef on Wack, and buffalo wings, the second meal was a little disappointing as the Parmesan Chicken was a bit soggy and the breading kept flaking off the chicken. My wife & I visited The Granny Apple tonight. She had the fish fry and it was not so good. The fish was undercooked and looked translucent. The taste of the fish was just bland and it was greasy. The coleslaw had way too much mayonnaise in it. This place has slipped to say the least. They claim the best fish fry for 2024, but I'm not convinced. Who the heck did the Judging because they had no tastebuds. I want to know who knew who??? Also the restaurant was not full at 5:00 pm on a Friday. What does that tell you? We did take a ride down the hill to see the newer Griffey pub. Their parking lot was so full you could not even get a parking spot. We went to Lewiston on a Friday evening and were surprised to get seated quickly with no wait during prime dining time. We both had a cup of clam chowder which was good. My wife chose the broiled shrimp and I chose the broiled haddock. We both thought that our meals were ok but nothing special. I went to the Apple Granny for the first time yesterday. It's a very cute restaurant, with comfort classics on the menu. My brother and I both ordered Reuben sandwiches with fries which were good. The fries were also nice and crispy. I felt that the friendly service was the most memorable aspect. I will definitely come back for that alone! Great spot! We tried the Niagara Falls free shuttle and got to spend time in the adorable town of Lewistown. We were starving because it was 3 pm and we hadn't had lunch. We looked around and settled on Apple Granny. We ordered ribs to share and drinks. The ribs were delicious and so were the fries. I love fries and these weren't too thick, but nice and crisp. The meal also came with soup and the waitress gave us a generous supply of napkins. It's a nice size place and the staff was wonderful. Definitely stop in if in the area! read more

This is a quaint Lewiston institution with a cozy atmosphere. However, I will not be going back due to the astronomical prices there now - I realize food prices have gone up, but seriously? $18/$19 for a sandwich or salad? The grilled chicken salad I had was merely average - iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, grilled chicken. That's it. No roll or croutons and nothing except BASIC - so not worth the money. I don't mind paying that amount and have at other establishments, but those salads were exceptional in that they had a lot more ingredients and were at least interesting. My friend also paid $18 for a basic grilled chicken sandwich with 2 pickles slices and chips. Sorry, Apple Granny's. I'm spending my time and money elsewhere in Lewiston.... read more

Many apple grannies and grampies to be found here for sure! The crowd is older, as is the decor. The stained glass lampshades took me back to the kitchen of my youth at my parents house in the 1970s. No kidding! Was like a trip down memory lane. The sign outside says "casual dining" and that it was. It is what makes this restaurant rather quirky and fun in my opinion. The waitress was smiling and efficient. The food was not spectacular but satisfying. The baked haddock was bland. Nothing that some salt and pepper could not rescue. The shrimp and scallop scampi was tasty, as garlic and lemon does wonders. Baked potatoes were done right. Decent food at a decent price.
