Gluten-free Pancakes, bacon and real maple syrup
Tara G.

We arrived to extremely friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised to find Gluten-free pancakes on the menu which were delicious. Our food arrived in no time and my husband's must have been good because I'm not even sure I know what he got - it was sausage gravy, eggs and hash.

We stopped by after skiing and we're pleased to find a cute local diner with down home decor that was like taking a step back in time and visiting your grandma. We were lucky that there was not a wait. We got seated quickly and were able to order from the breakfast or lunch menu. I ended up ordering gluten free toast and bacon because I needed to eat non staining foods. It was good, the bacon was cooked perfectly and had a generous portion. I was happy to hear they had several GF options including bread, bagels and English muffins. My friend ordered a full breakfast which included 2 of each- pancakes, bacon and French toast. It looked like the perfect breakfast feast. She was very happy. In the end we were surprised that the bill was only about $15. Such a good deal! Make sure to bring cash because they do not take cards but they do have an atm on site. There's not a lot of notices about it being cash only.

Country home cooking at its finest. Not a fancy place, but fresh food, beautifully prepared by two lovely ladies. Little touches, like real maple syrup for a very modest up charge. Bottomless cup of coffee. Homemade pies and desserts, and gluten-free choices too. Friendly service. I feel like I am in my aunt's kitchen.

I grew up in the Southern Tier, with family in Buffalo. So I have driven back and forth by Apple Dumplin probably hundreds of times over the course of my life ... and have never stopped in. But finally the stars aligned! My husband and I were going by on a weekday late morning, and I FINALLY stopped at Apple Dumplin for breakfast! And after the most excellent breakfast we had, I am kicking myself for not stopping sooner! :-O Apple Dumplin is mainly open for breakfast and lunch, with dinner hours on Friday only. It is easy to drive by because it looks like a house. There is plenty of parking. When you walk up to building, and walk in, it really feels like you are walking into a sweet grandmother's parlor, just warm and cozy. We came in just before 11am on a weekday, and had our pick of tables. It is bigger inside than it looks outside, with a room off of the back. The space is bright and clean. It was almost empty when we got there, but by a bit after noon the crowd was starting to fill in for lunch. Our friendly waitress gave us both breakfast and lunch menus. Both my husband and I went with breakfast options. He went with the Steak and Eggs breakfast, and added a side of biscuits and gravy. I chose the King Cheese omelet, and added mushrooms. Our food came out fairly fast, and our nice waitress kept the coffee flowing. We were both entirely pleased with our meals. My husband's breakfast had a generous steak that was tender and juicy. He devoured the biscuits and gravy, one of his faves. My omelet was nice and bouncy and cheesy. Both of our dishes had a generous side of fried potatoes, just the way I like them, cubed with crisp outsides and soft insides. Everything was fully satisfying. I was even impressed with the condiments at the table! All of the tables had Frank's and mustard as a staple, including the usual ketchup. AND the jelly packet assortment included some seedless jelly! I LOVE seedless jelly, as the seeds always get stuck in my fillings, and you just don't see that anywhere! It is the little details that go a long way. :-D And you know what else goes a long way here at Apple Dumplin? ... your dollar! Wow, the prices are good! My omelet spread was just $8.99! My husband's steak and eggs breakfast was just $10.99! The side of biscuits and gravy was just $2.99! BUT BE AWARE--Apple Dumplin is CASH ONLY! It is a small inconvenience for the fantastic prices and excellent quality breakfast. The breakfast menu had all of the typical things you'd expect, with the lunch menu having the usual variety of sandwiches and entrees too. There was a nice variety on the dessert menu on the wall too, but we were just too stuffed to try any pie this time around. Plus I still need to try something with their namesake-apples, like their apple dumpling itself. The waitress said the apple french toast is a well-loved popular pick, too. We will undoubtedly stop by Apple Dumplin again when we are in the Springville area at a time they are open--as I am not waiting another many-decades for that great breakfast again!! :-D

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy but we were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress was pleasant and attentive while she took our drink orders. She promptly served us drinks while taking our food order. I had an eggs Benedict which was better than most. The decor is casual and it was clean, would not hesitate to return

Stopped on my way from Ellicottville to Buffalo and had breakfast and Sunday morning. Nice family joint, just the right kind of menu, and fast service. The home fries were killer!

A drive out to Springville should be on your must do bucket list this time of year to see the fall foliage - the view on the way to Apple Dumplin Restaurant was breathtaking . This diner reminded me of a grandmas house - special emphasis on their desserts with a cozy feel. I wasn't feeling like eggs this time around, so I got their "famous" apple French toast and a side of home fries (no onions) while my father ordered his go to meal - a western omelette. Also two fresh cups of coffee (because no breakfast is complete without it!) The food came out fresh and hot . The star of the show was the French toast - like an apple pie breakfast delight! Sadly my potatoes came with some onions on them but I was able to pick around them . My dad enjoyed his omelette although he admitted he has had better - the cheese on it was tasty though , better than just processed cheese slices. Service was swift, yet friendly ! I would like to try lunch next time and some of those yummy desserts that were on the board.

This little place was awesome. It's in a small lot on the way back from lime stone New York. Typical Hoehn style diner. The food is plentiful well flavored. The staff will prompt and kept our coffee cups full great place

For those who don't know, that would be every Wednesday during the spring-summer-fall seasons, but that's another review! It was pleasant to bump into our farmer friends in the parking lot on this drizzly morning. We ordered up our breakfasts. Hubby selected a homemade hash omelette in a wrap, with hash-browns on the side. A beautifully plated breakfast, I was not able to snap a photo before he began diving in! My special order was easily accommodated: a 3-egg cheese omelette with hash-browns and rye toast and a side of very delicious Italian sausage patty. Again, beautifully plated and crazy delicious. The breads and baked goods are homemade, which is a plus in my book! Very delectable! The service is great! Our waitress was totally cheerful, prompt and competent in taking our order and keeping our beverages full. There is a very nostalgic walk-up ice cream window. Brings up memories of my childhood, carefully reading all the flavors and selecting the most innovative and unique flavor for my cone! I found the restaurant to be very clean and welcoming. It's safe to say that Cozy Corner lives up to its name. It's clearly a diner, so no fancy frills or Murano glass pendant lights. Just lots of well spaced tables and chairs and some stools at the front counter. Of special note, the Cozy Corner has a walk-up ice cream window which made my toes tremble. Yum! We highly recommend this delightful diner!

Decent diner type options. The portions are very generous. I had a three egg american cheese omelet with onions, jalapeños, spinach, and mushrooms with Rye toast and link sausage. The sausage link serving is three links. The Rye toast was excellent, and the omelet was quite good. The omelet selections come with home fries, with or without onions. I also ordered grapefruit juice and coffee. I declined the potatoes given my desire for toast. The service was prompt and friendly. The facility has a homey feel, and it was just the right amount of busy on a weekday at 9 am. I easily found a nice table selection near a gas woodstove and enjoyed my meal. I was waiting on my dog being groomed close to the restaurant and asked if I could stay and do some work, and they were happy to accommodate me. With tip, my meal was $32.

Nellie's is a fixture in the rural town of Arcade New York. The theme of the restaurant is very rustic, with many taxidermy animals along the timbered ceiling. The service was extremely good today as we were greeted with beverages soon after seating ourselves. The menu is pretty extensive for a small place like Nellie's. They feature an extensive selection of juicy burgers, big wraps, full and 1/2 sub sandwiches, patty melts. The breakfast menu is very extensive and includes all the standard diner fare. Let me say that we have never had a bad meal here. The food is always on point! Today our little guys split an order of chicken fingers and fries. Plenty enough food for them today, as their appetites were rather small. The french fries here are what I would say are exquisite. I know they're only frozen french fries, but they're the ones that we prefer. They have a batter coating and they are cooked crispy on the outside light on the inside and also so delicious. The kid's chicken finger platter comes with two nice big chicken fingers, very tasty and extra crispy. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich with Swiss cheese and bacon with scrambled eggs. His sandwich came on a large hard roll and the plate included a big pile of home fries. I ordered a quarter pound bacon blue cheeseburger. Definitely more than a person could eat at one meal. The sandwich included lettuce, tomato, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, and onion, a very refreshing garnish for this delicious sandwich. We all took part of our food home, and will enjoy that later. The restaurant is from another era, and the decor is very rustic, it's clean whenever we visit. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, well-made, breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Nellie's is sure to please.

We had been to this location before, when it had been a different restaurant. Now the place has been completely renovated and is very lovely. Clean and bright, it was also well appointed with cute wall signs signaling the restaurants focus on "homemade" "fresh" "made to order" etc, with ample seating and a nice tropical Fishtank as decor to look at, to boot! Within 30 seconds of entering we were greeted and told we could choose our seat. We selected a table by a window. The server came quickly and brought the lunch menu AND the breakfast menu (extra points!). We ordered iced teas which came quickly. My husband ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fresh cut French Fries. I ordered the Country Burger medium rare. The burger sounded so tantilizing as they advertise a blend of ground chuck, short rib and brisket. I asked for no bun and no fries, as I am trying to limit my processed foods, carbs and seed oils, and the server took the initiative to ask me if I wanted a side salad instead, which was great, and then she also had the good sense to ask me if she should hold the salad croutons which was smart. I always forget that and then I am reduced to picking them off my salad. The burger did not disappoint at all.....it was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, and very very flavorful, the bacon was crispy, and the fried egg on top with the hot pepper jack cheese was really yummy. As you can see by my photo, the side salad was beautiful, with fresh and crisp salad ingredients. I hate when a side salad comes with bits of browned or wilted lettuce and/or soggy cucumbers or tomatoes. Not here! I loved the black olives on the salad, but they were a bit of a surprise, so if you don't like olives, be sure to speak up to have them held. My husband loved his buffalo chicken wrap but said he was a bit disappointed in the fries. He said they tasted a bit stale to him. I am not much for french fries, but I tried one. I thought they were ok, but nothing to write home about. So the jury is still out on that. Overall, this was a great choice, and I would absolutely come back. The menus were fabulous, quite expansive, with something for everyone. The atmosphere was fresh and nice. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. The bathrooms were well provisioned and clean. Parking was ample. Total thumbs up! Check it out!

I ordered the Breakfast Garbage Plate with sausage, homefries, and scrambled eggs. It comes smothered in sausage gravy which I happen to really enjoy. The serving size was generous and I thought my food was pretty good. The only gripe I had was the potatoes could've been cooked a little more. Some of them were a bit firm. My friend ordered the Hungryman Plate. He says it was decent but had similar complaints about the potatoes. They were also a little underseasoned. Again, the serving size was generous, especially the pancakes. My friend shared the pancakes with me but unfortunately they were a little lackluster. They were a bit soggy which was disappointing. They weren't completely inedible, but we didn't finish them. The waitress noticed and asked if we needed a to-go container. We said yes but we weren't aware that we would be charged $0.75 to take something to go. Not a huge deal, but it's annoying to feel like you're getting nickel and dimed. Since the pancakes were just meh we probably would've just left them if we had known we'd be charged extra to take them. It seems like breakfast options were limited in the area, but John & Sarah's is a totally OK place. I wouldn't be opposed to returning if I were in the area.
