    Breakfast Combo
    Alexis B.

Great food, ambiance, and drink selection! I did go in the off season for skiing, so people who had an issue with the service in the past could have had a different experience than me. There is a sign clearly stating it is open seating. I was also immediately greeted and asked if I was eating there or getting something to go. I decided to eat there and got the breakfast combo, and it was so much food for a good price -- $13.75. The sourdough everything bagel toast was delicious, and the home fries with onions were very refreshing for a potato side. The bacon was so so good with a country ham taste. I love all the artwork of the local area for sale throughout the shop as well.

Great experience! They accommodated our party of 11 for a bachelorette. Service was fast and the employees are super friendly. The inside of the shop is so so cute. Everyone's meals came as ordered with no issues. Coffee cups stayed filled and hot. I personally Enjoyed the chai tea latte so much, fun mugs a perk. A great stop on our weekend in EVL!

Let me preface this by saying I frequent Katy's often because my work is just down the street, so my review is based on multiple visits but I'm just sharing some standout points. Atmosphere: It's a cute shop with sturdy decorative chairs and tables. Menu boards are easy to read behind and above the cash registerss if you are just dropping by for an espresso or quick bakery case item. They do have sit down service, you just seat yourself and one of the girls will drop a menu at your table, take your order and deliver your food. All congenially. Service: A lot of people complain the service is slow. First, there are only one or two girls running the whole front at a time on any given day. And they are whipping up lattes, smoothies and keeping up with their tables the best they can. The food is made to order, so it takes a bit of time. If you need to, you can always call ahead and do a pick up order so it's ready when you request. Food: I've had some misses and some huge hits. The misses are mostly just based on my flavor preferences, so no star loss for that. Some of my favorites are the bagels, toasted just right and actually covered in delicious butter. (Sometimes I get a side of bacon to add on to them.) Their breakfast wrap is full of flavor and I love getting a side of breakfast potatoes with cheese, peppers and spinach. So good. For lunch, my top pick is the basic grilled cheese, add on tomato and bacon. Chedder, provolone, fresh tomato slices and decadent bacon sandwiched between two buttery griddled slices of sunflower bread. (Chef's kiss!) Overall: Katy's is a great stop for a healthy (or in my case, mostly not) lunch and an awesome beverage. (If its available, get yourself a Frosted Sugar Cookie White Mocha, made with your choice of milk. It's fantastic.) Sometimes the wait might be a little long but the quality in what they produce is well worth it. Don't miss out on this little gem in Ellicottville.

Terrible service from start to end. A friend and I stood at the register to order and waited about 5 minutes as employees walked back and forth without so much as a "hello, we'll be with you in a moment". Someone else got in line behind us and the employees who'd been walking past us the whole time immediately looked over our shoulders to address them and cash them out. What? I don't-- whatever. Once they were done the employee looked at us still standing there and said "have you been helped?" to which we replied "no". Apparently they thought we were waiting for an order we'd already placed?? Why would we be standing at the register? Like right in front of it. Wouldn't we have stepped to the side to wait for our food? Weird assumption but ok. The employees apologized, blamed it on each other, took our order, and instructed us to seat ourselves at a table wherever we liked. We went outside. One employee brought my coffee out along with cream and sugar, but no silverware. I waited a minute thinking she'd come back but no. I went inside to get one myself from the other employee as the one who brought the coffee out was nowhere to be found. A little less than 10 minutes later the first employee brought our food out and said she'd be back with napkins. It was a slightly messy sandwich so I didn't want to start until I had those napkins. So I wanted. And waited. And waited. My friend was now half done with their sandwich. Finally I got up and went back in and she was talking to the other employee while lackadaisically gathering things for her tables, including our napkins. She saw me and said "oh I'm coming with those napkins" so I reached out my hand and said well I came in for the spoon figured I'd come in for the napkins too. "Spoon?" she asked? "Yeah you brought me the coffee and I had nothing to stir it with" and she joked "that's what fingers are for!" Not funny. So I went back out, ate my sandwich (which was very good - hence the 2 stars) and when she came back around she asked if I wanted more coffee. I said sure. It never came. She came back eventually and we asked for the check, and I added "I won't be needing that coffee anymore" and she said "oh I was brewing some to give it to you to-go" (yeah right) and I said "well I can't really take it with me on the motorcycle, so..." The whole experience was annoying. I probably won't go back.

The food was fantastic. I got the Chute panini, and it was awesome. The artichoke soup was also very good. Service was excellent. The ambience is really nice as well. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Cute place in downtown Ellicottville with fresh options for breakfast and lunch. We stopped for a quick lunch after a morning of skiing. It was my first time here and there was the option of a carry out counter or casual table service. There were a decent amount of tables so seating wasn't an issue. They had a lot of breakfast and lunch options and we had the choice to order from either. We opted for lunch and had a strawberry and spinach salad with chicken and a salad and sandwich combo. The food came out quickly and was healthy and fresh. The server knew exactly what was in ever dish and they offered gluten free options, which was a huge plus. Server was quick and friendly too.

Great breakfast spot, would definitely go back. Was very impressed with the seasonal lattes & the food was fabulous. Typical breakfast dinner menu. We went on a Sunday morning in December around 10-11 and didn't have a problem getting a table

Katy's Cafe is a cute spot for lunch or breakfast right in the heart of Ellicottville. We were staying directly across the street and headed here for lunch after getting settled in, and also grabbed coffees here before heading home the next morning. Overall, A-OK is a 100% accurate description of the spot. Pros: dog friendly, large patio (we found spots on a Saturday right at noon), large menu selection of paninis/wraps/salad, and the convenient location. There will likely be something everyone will enjoy here. Our pup loved hanging out on their patio and watching the hustle and bustle. Cons: wait staff was attentive and fast but definitely rushed and blatantly annoyed with my questions, no alcohol, very little flavor or seasoning on either sandwich, and the coffee drinks we tried the next morning were essentially undrinkable (my iced coffee had nearly the exact same after taste as the hotel coffee). I want to come back in the future and try breakfast since it seems like many of the great reviews reference that. Overall, I think it is a fine option for lunch in E-ville!

Katy's Cafe is a cute and cozy cafe located right in Ellicottville. After a hike, I was starving and needed something that would really hit the spot. This place definitely did that! They serve typical lunch items but it looks like their most common item is their paninis. I was really impressed when I bit into my pesto panini which came with grilled chicken, tomato, provolone cheese, and pesto. My fiancé got the firecracker and it was really good too! There was also a nice cheese pull. I deducted one star because I wish my panini was warmer. They are currently offering outside and inside dining so that is a plus. We brought our dog so we opted to sit outside. All their tables have umbrellas attached so you won't be sitting in the heat.

"French toast" quotes on purpose. Dry. Terrible.
    Samantha C.

Now I will be posting a photo that LOOKS pretty great... however...this was literally the worst French toast I've ever had. Katy's is the thing that comes up first if you're in Ellicottville and want breakfast so we tried it. It was not clear if you should seat yourself or not and it was pretty crowded so we stood in line only to find we should have taken a table. We were promptly served once seated. The coffee was ok. We both got the LA French toast with a side of bacon. They came relatively quickly. I don't know who made this "French toast". It looks deceptively nice but the bread is dryAF. Like it briefly touched some milk and egg I guess. But not for more than a second. It was a challenge to eat and I'm Not sure I can describe it to you if you've never had dry French toast... but we were starving after spending the previous evening climbing and zip lining so we powered through as much as we could. The bacon was also undercooked and we had to leave behind some chunks of inedible raw fat. Pretty unpleasant dining experience though the staff were very attentive so I give them that. Do not get the "French toast" try something safer.

Dont let my buddy in the front fool you. He had a great time and enjoyed his food like everyone else in the group.

I came here with a friend over the weekend and stopped in to order 2 drinks and some snacks to eat after a few hours on the slopes. Everything was fine until it came to getting my drink. I ordered a 16 oz café mocha, which took over 10 minutes to get. The waiting time wouldn't have been an issue, but the problem was that everyone else was getting served ahead of us. More than 2 caramel macchiato's were served to people who had ordered after us. I used to be a bartender/barista, I know how long espresso drinks take to make and how they're made. There's no reason to serve caramel macchiato's first and a cafe mocha afterwards, all these drinks take about the same amount of time to create. My friend asked the girl who was making our drinks 3 times, where our drink was. She kept saying that she's making it, while not making it. We finally got our drink after another customer in line made comments about our situation out loud, and the barista overheard. Another guest in line had noticed how long we were waiting for our drink and made comments out loud about how ridiculous it was, which spurned the barista into completing our order. ANOTHER NICE GUEST HAD TO INTERVENE. When she did end up making the drink, she made the 12 oz. We had to reitorate that we had ordered the 16 oz. She remade it and I believe she just threw in more milk or water, as it ended up tasting like nothing. This is supposed to be a Starbucks frianchise cafe mocha. I've had it a million times before, what they served was hot water tinged with a taste of mocha. Now, we are both of Asian descent, my friend and I. We both speak perfect english and I was born in North America. There was no reason to be acting this way towards us, even if we weren't native to this continent. PSA, avoid the blotchy haired girl at McCarty's Cafe with the mess of orange, yellow and blonde on top of her head if you're a POC. Her personality is the same as her hair, confused and a mess.
