My company's office resides in this building and I love that it's so convenient, right down stairs. Even though it can get quite busy here, you can tell they are working as fast and efficient as possible to make heir customers happy and satisfied. Yesterday my food took about 20 mins to come out, today it was about 8 mins, but both times the food was delicious and hot and filled me up! Eat there very often and the food is very good but 10-15% of the time the order is incomplete. Suggest you open the bag and check your order before leaving...they tend to forget stuff, at least with online orders. read more

This is the worst deli I ever been to i did not get greeted i was getting ignored by cashiers and a man standing here a well. Super overpriced sandwich I had the chipotle chicken the chicken was so dry and the tomatoes where soggy oh and it took like 20min no lies. If your going to have over priced food at least have fresh ingredients. Definitely a little bit soup natzi-ish with how the line works. And the middle gal is usually the slowest so - pick an end! I've gotten a number of thing - california turkey wrap is a winner - mmmm! Must be good..it is full of officers from the San Diego County Sheriff office (lol). Seriously, though, tuna salad sandwich was above average. Served on nice metal dish, not paper. Pickle slice was tangy and crispy. Whole wheat bread, perhaps artisanal, was sliced thick. All in all, good value. read more

Working downtown and looking for great lunch options this week. This one looked promising, but I was totally disappointed. I ordered the thai salad with seared ahi tuna and the chicken tortilla soup. While the soup had a nice spice to it, there was about one spoonful of "stuff"...including one sad little piece of chicken. No tortilla, no toppings. Boring and sad. The salad was supposed to have seared ahi tuna. Not sure if these cooks have ever worked with ahi before. It should be seared rare. My chunk of tuna was completely brown inside and out. I just went to Appetite for the first time after hearing other coworkers discuss this as an option for lunch. This is the perfect go to lunch spot for your lunch hour. I ordered to go (over the phone) was treated kindly and the call was efficient. I walked in was greeted right away. My food was ready and it was packaged perfectly (I hate when they put your salad on top of your hot soup -this was not the case). The establishment itself if conveniently located in the business district of downtown and is very clean, inside the 1 Columbia Building. I will be back! I like this place for lunch. If the items cost just a bit less, I would give this place five stars. I love the chipotle chicken sandwich, and the Thai salad (with roasted chicken). The baguette is soft and quite doughy (on the edge of feeling undercooked), so unless you like it like that, ask for your sandwich toasted/baked. When baked, the baguette is fantastic. If this is your first time here, ordering can be a bit confusing, as you sometimes can't tell who is waiting to order, and who has already ordered and is just waiting for their food. read more

Ripoff Alert!!! $23.98 for two deli sandwiches and two drinks. Shame on you for ripping off your customers. I got two avocado turkey club sandwiches and there was hardly any avocado on the sandwiches. Both sandwiches were plain, no flavor, and dry. I do not recommend this place. I will not come back. Service was ok, but food was lousy and way over prices. $9.95 per sandwich. I wish I took a picture because there was nothing special on that sandwich deserving of a price tag of $9.95. I don't recommend this place. I hate to do this since i am a customer since they first opened . I ordered a Soy vegan burger w/ sweet potato at 11:30am and asked to pick up at 12:45pm so they have plenty of time to make the food. When I picked up the order, I got a meat burger with regular waffle fries. Appetite charged me an extra $1.25 for the sweet potato which I did not received with the $8.95 for the price of both burger and waffle fries. I will not come back again since I told them again when I picked up that I ordered a vegan w/ sweet potato. Great and fresh options to grab-and-go when Im in a rush, the staff is always nice and friendly, manager goes out of his way to make sure all orders are good and ready quick. The cashier staff is WONDERFUL - very friendly and kind even tho they get fussed at a lot by unhappy customers. The prices are way out of line now - didn't used to be so bad, but it's outrageous now. Ten bones for just a sandwich with no drink or side. I get that there are a lot of fancy tenants in the building but not EVERYONE is making bank like that. Had to start bringing lunch. I work in the same building, so I go there everyday for lunch. Their Turkado is my peraonal favorite and their flat breads are Fantastic! I just found out that they do starbucks coffee, so that definitely another plus! Costumer service is good. the cooks here are pervs and will not stop staring at you from the back kitchen while you wait in line. Makes any female extremely uncomfortable and I try to avoid eye contact by ALL MEANS when standing in line. the manager needs to make them aware of this issue and clean up the act if he wants any good reviews of customer service. read more

Was in downtown area today in a sea of endless office visits. Famished, We walked in around 3pm. Their was 3 women behind the register. Before I gathered my child's order, husband and my own the less than happy woman who decided to punch in my order was quick to cut me off (as I ordered a salad) and tell me I could only order sandwiches. Luckily, the nicer of the 3 stepped up and said she'd make me a salad. Lucky me! Their stated hours are until 5:30... My salad comes out, they bring out my husbands sandwich. The food is ok, reminiscent of hospital cafeteria quality. 15minutes later I notice the chili cup I ordered for my child hasn't been brought out. By the time I walk up to the counter the nice lady who offered to make my salad is gone and the only one left is a long faced younger female who is absolutely less than thrilled to answer my question of "is the chili cup I ordered on its way?" Her dry LA type of "orale eh homes" response as she's texting and no eye contact "oh, they ain't brought it out to you yet?" Was rather annoying. As we are eating I can hear dry LA type chick running business into the ground by telling overly nice business guy they close at the nearing time of 3:30!! She told me 4 and stated hours say 5:30pm. She was just completely gross taking off her work attire and staying behind the counter talking to customers as if she was still working with her hair down and cheap tattoos completely exposed. I can't see this place staying in business long. The gravy train of overly worked office people who have forgotten what a good meal is and non locals has to run out at one point. read more

they will tell you they have nonfat milk for their lattes, lie to your face when its clearly non fat milk and lie to your face again when you ask to see the carton. How many different lies are you going to tell me to cover up that you could have just told me in the first place that you don't have it? Milk is one of those things that you know exactly how its suppose to taste. So rude. Wasted 15 mins of my time and left with nothing. read more

This "restaurant" replaced the "deli" that was in its place prior. From what I understand, it's the same owner, just supposedly a step up. All that's stepped "up" is the pricing. We work in the office building where the cafe is located. We have SERIOUSLY TRIED in many occasions to order lunch and they can't get order straight if you request even one change to a sandwich. God forbid if you order for two people on the same ticket. Her tuna melt is not toasted, but my regular sandwich came with roasted bread I had not requested. This happens time and time again.
