Stuck at jury duty I saw this place had a Hot Pastrami Sandwich and had to try. The sandwich was great and the pepperoncinis were a nice touch, but not 5 stars due to the lack of bread options. This would have been amazing on sourdough. Other than that the sandwich was packed with meat and came hefty, tough to finish. I swapped the oil and vinegar for yellow mustard that's just how I like my pastrami sandwiches, big Togos #9 fan and this satisfied the craving. I really want to give 5 stars because Grab & Go's pastrami sandwich is my absolute favorite. I've eaten it plenty of times throughout the years. But I have never had it at this particular location at the trolley station. First, I went right at the beginning of the lunch rush so there were only 3 people ahead of me. After I ordered came about another 10. All 10 people got their orders before me. Now generally that wouldn't bother me. But some were ordering like 3-4 sandwiches (prob for their friends and coworkers) so I inquired what the hold up was. I was told it's because the pastrami needs to be cooked. Ok. No problem. I continued to wait. Finally!! I got my sandwich! Opened it up to find it a bit larger than I remember. So yay!! I started to eat it and I kid you not, at one point I seriously forgot I was eating a pastrami sandwich and thought I was eating a bacon sandwich. The majority of my sandwich was crispy! It did taste like I was eating bacon. When my co-worker walked by she said, wow, that's a lot of bacon! Even she thought it was bacon. Needless to say, I now know why it took so long to make. They weren't just cooking it, they were overcooking it so now it became a crisp sandwich. Now I have had a lot of pastrami sandwiches in my lifetime and not once had it been a crispy sandwich. Not saying it tasted bad, but it definitely was not what I was expecting and looking forward to :( On the plus side, they do have a free drink with yelp check in. However unlike the other locations, this didn't have a rewards program. I guess I'll have to start going back to my usual locations. My first time eating here and probably my last. The avocado sub was mostly bread. Granted it was tasty bread and better tasting than most bread I've had in subs, but I didn't buy it to eat the bread. The avocado and veggies filling were barely there. The sliced onions were plentiful. They should call this a sliced onion sub. The service could be better. Although she didn't say anything outright, the cashier who took our order had an attitude and a way of looking a person up and down in a judgmental way. I didn't get her name but she had very heavy makeup and a matte red lipstick. In case you're curious, we were all dressed in professional white collar clothing suitable for an office. The subs here are awesome, but unfortunately the service is selective. I have ordered from this location 3 times and each time the same cashier has treated me like I was not there. Today I stood at the register waiting to be assisted, while she helped others. After she finished with the other customers, she looked directly at me and walked away. I had to speak up to get her attention by letting her know I was there to pick up my order. She gave me my order and as I was waking out two ladies entered the establishment to be greeted by the same cashier with a big "Welcome". I don't know what I did to not receive the same treatment, but her customer service was a big disappointment. I came here to try the grab & go $5 sub which is actually now $5.99. The sandwich was bigger than I expected. It was very fresh it tasted great. I got it with mayo oil and vinegar. G&G has been a favorite of mine for quite some time now. The best bagels, the best cali steak sandwich and this might be a shock but they also have the best pizza on west broadway(just make sure to ask for it extra crispy). Would also like to mention their customer service helps get the 5 stars in my book. Aime and Kim are AMAZING, friendly, have a good memory on what you like on your food and what you dont like. Grab n Go used to be my all time favorite and reliable lunch spot. Never anything bad to say, always made a pretty solid sandwich or wrap, which is actually pretty hard to find in this city for some reason. Anyways, I feel like the quality of the food has been going downhill over the past few months. At first I maybe thought they were just having a bad day or had some inexperienced people working, but the poor quality food continued. For one they always seem to be having trouble getting my order right. If I ask for a spinach wrap they put it on a wheat wrap, I order white bread, they put it on wheat. It's like they are purposely messing up the order for some weird reason. Also the wraps are so terribly put together lately. I can't even take two bites without it falling apart on my desk. I work close this Grab & Go so it's a convenient Breakfast/Lunch spot for me. They fairly price the food and you definitely get your money's worth. Everything that I have tried here is super good! And I like food haha... But besides the food, the customer service is awesome. The girls that work the registers are always welcoming, informative about their menu items and ready to help as you approach. The guys in the back are never just sitting around.. At least every time that I have ever walked into this store I see them busy at work. I have had, not one but two, emergency situations where I ordered a conference lunch for my office and it did not show up! Both times I called Grab & Go to see if they could save the day and BOTH times without hesitation they said YES!!! Literally threw together a full on catering order for me for about 15-20 people within 20 min and I was both times forever grateful... AND besides that fact, many people from both meetings complimented on how good the sandwiches and salad's were. So even though they were in a time crunch they still put together some really good sandwiches. They worked together to get it done, didn't make me feel like I was a burden for the last minute crises and seemed genuinely happy to help. Customer service doesn't get any better than that. P.s. Now, I know about the Grab & Go Subs, since they are all over the freakin' place. I Just ate my 2nd Grab & Go Sub, EVER, from the 600 W. Broadway location - which is conveniently placed a handful of floors down from my cubicle. Woohoo! I ordered the vegetarian again (since, i am) and was satisfied, again. I figured out the reason I like this Grab & Go Sub. They taste like hoagies that high school marching bands sell door to door. OK, I am not sure if that was a regional reference, but marching bands sold hoagies to raise money in the same way that girl scouts sell cookies. Anyway, you'll just have to use your imagination for a moment. Back to the Vegetarian Sub. Said Submarine contains provolone cheese, shredded lettuce (the almost fake plasticy kind), White Onions, Avocado, Pepperoncinis, Oil & Vinegar (the basic old school kind). All of that piled into a fresh baked white sub rolls. It's a cold sub and it is squishy and a tad crunchy from the veggies. It is slightly messy to eat and the raw white onions will give you bad breath to conveniently ward off co-workers. To summarize Grab & Go Subs serves Marching Band Hoagies with a focus on convenience. While not the best thing around, it does the trick. Burrrrp! read more

Do as it's named and grab a pre-made one (still fresh) off the shelf, hand the friendly girls at the counter a $5 bill and be in-and-out in less than 60 seconds. Or, you can even order the Grab & Go sub off the menu (#1), customize it as you please (no peppers, extra lettuce, etc.) and still pay $5.00 flat. Best lunch deal around. A very solid mediocre place. Decided to ride the trolley today and this was right by the trolley stop. I usually only go to the one in Little Italy or the one in Clairemont, this one is smaller and didn't have a restroom. I asked to wash my hands and they had a little sink in the back. Seating area was dirty and generally unkempt, There were two workers on the register and one making the food. The food came out quickly enough but if you take too long to order they do this very annoying and loud pen tapping on the counter as if that would make you hurry up and make your decision. Ok, food quality matters to me. I just went here today for the first time. My office is a block away. I ordered a chicken sub. When I got back to the office and started eating it, I realized it only had one very thinly sliced slice of chicken breast on it. I don't know if this is uniform between all the locations, but I cannot justify dropping 10 bucks for a sub with one slice of meat on it. OK, so I usually love this place. I always get the feta grilled cheese and it is delicious cheesy goodness. The pastrami sandwich is pretty bomb too. This review is based on my last two experiences. Attempting to eat a bit healthier and lighter I have opted for their salads. Salads are kept in a large fridge and appear to be assembled daily. My first salad experience there was the medium Greek salad. It included one slice of tomato, a few onions, some black olives and a generous sprinkling of feta cheese. The house dressing is delicious and boasts yummy oregano and EVOO. Unfortunately for the Greek salad, the olives were plain old boring black olives, not the kalamatas I was hoping for and there were no pepperocinis. Overall, the salad was pretty good and for $3.99, I couldn't really complaint. Yesterday I headed back to the old G &G. Craving a bit of protein, I went for the turkey and cheese salad. It only comes in large size which will run you $5.99. I was totally dismayed when I got back to the office and opened my plastic box to find old, nearly black lettuce, a lone slice of frost bitten tomato, a couple pieces of cucumber and half a pepperocini. Excuse me? Where is the other half!!!??? The turkey and provolone was rolled up and placed on top of the "salad." The turkey was good quality and the cheese was good of course.
